When being able to eat fresh mochi donuts, you can tell the difference. These are some great tasting mochi donuts that you can find inside Uwajimaya. The taro one has real taro dough and not just the frosting. Its also not too sweet and has a good chewiness to it.

Dochi - the go to mochi donut place in all of WA.Although there isn’t many options for flavors, the options provided are all amazing and will put a sparkle in your eyes. The texture of the donuts are just so satisfying to bite and chew. You would be doing yourself a disservice going elsewhere. Which of course, would only leave you in tears wanting Dochi.EDIT: They sell out, so get there early

I’m a big fan of donuts and this was my first mochi donut experience and all I can say is WOW! The dough is so soft and fluffy, it easily breaks apart. The flavor choices are so fun and I really want to try them all. I had the taro with fruity pebbles, what a combination! It was sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. Make sure you get these early as they can sell out. The staff serving us were incredibly friendly too.

The mochi donuts are a nice treat after a long walk exploring the central district. The donuts are soft and chewy and not too sweet. The matcha pistachio is my favorite.Though the donuts look so pretty you feel like youll have to get a half dozen box or more, a piece per person is really more than enough.I recommend stopping by here when you are in Uwajimaya for a fresh donut.

Wow!!! I’ve seen these donuts online and never thought I would get to try them, was so delighted to find them at Uwajimaya. I love these because their texture is so chewy and moist. They are also not insanely over the top sweet. They were out of the taro flavor when I got there so I’ll have to come back, but all of the other flavors taste amazing!! My favorite is the strawberry pocky one.

Tldr: Mochi donuts that provide novelty, but can be lackluster in flavor and crispiness.I had the Ube Glaze, Matcha Oreo, Strawberry Animal Cracker, and Taro Fruity Pebble Flavors. The Donuts were chewy but lacked a balancing crispiness. Flavors are nice in concept, but lackluster in taste, leaving more to be desired. This was my first time having japanese mochi donuts and was a nice novelty, but I dont think these were too special.Yes theres hype behind these and they love to capitalize on it. This is located inside Seattle Uwajimaya’s food court. There was a short line on Sunday at 5pm. I was hoping to try all flavors but ube glazed and pumpkin spice were sold out. This doughnut is lighter and airier than regular doughnut. It has a little chewy texture but I was expecting small piece of Mochi inside each doughnut ball hahaha... worth a try :) ps I just tried microwaved it for 5-10 seconds and it got more Mochi texture 😉 after eating some more I think it tasted like soft bread with little chewy texture 🙂 good thing is you can just break off a ball to eat 😉 easy to share!!

Donuts + Mochi = Dochi = LiLiHa Bakerys Poi Donuts from Hawaii, with a Seattle twist. We got 1 of each of the current flavors (as of 9/1/19: Ube Glazed, Chocolate Almond, Strawberry Pebbles, Matcha Oreos, Coffee Red Velvet, and Ube Crunch. These are not hot out of the over mochi donuts like other places have them, but they are definitely tasty. Each 🍩 makes you $3 less rich but if you buy half a dozen or a dozen, you save some of your dignity. The packaging is all about Instagram and the inside writing even lets you dedicate the box to someone so its an easy eye-pleasing gift to give and enjoy/share. It looks like most of the donuts use the same mochi batter (white mochi) so the main flavors are in the frosting. This place is inside the Uwajimaya Village, snack dab across the Momosan Ramen 🍜 place, which is about to open (for you foodies out there).

The day finally came and I was able to catch them just before they closed, I was hoping to get their Ube, but they were sadly out. New pop up in food court offering “mochi style-like” donuts; spin off attempt of Mister Donuts or similar in Asia. They have about 5-7 flavors a day, and they are topping flavors, not actual donut flavors. They do not offer a plain one and each donut is $3. Size is good but overall texture and taste were underwhelming. On the dry side and not much of a QQ-chewiness that you would expect from a mochi donut.

Strongly recommend. Maple and bacon was really delicious! This is not going to be a light fluffy donut, bear in mind. It is made of rice, after all. So you might find it chewier than say a fresh baked yeast or cake donut. That said, I really liked all 3 flavors I tried. And I really want to know how they make these things... The circular balls that make up the donut are oddly satisfying to eat in individual bites, in a row. Plus, your glaze and topping ratio to donut is perfect!

Im not much of a donut fan but wow am I impressed with Dochi! Their dochis are addictive, well fried and not overtly sweet, so youre able to eat more and enjoy it.PROS:- Fantastic location (opposite to Uwajimaya Seattle inside the food court) and convenient if youre shopping in Uwaj. Theres another location outside Seattle.- Think of these as fried mochi donuts, made with rice flour, cooked to perfection. They are not greasy or oily at all, and are shaped perfectly, so youre able to easily tear off a piece and enjoy the right ratio of fillings with every bite. Im incredibly impressed with the fluffy texture, taste and consistency of their donut.- flavors are so good! The ube needed more punch and flavor, but the ube with crispy Fruity Pebbles dochi and the pistachio dochi were unreal. My favorite thing about their dochi is that they are not clawingly sweet, just really well balanced. The quality is really high.- the staff is so nice and polite! They immediately made us miss Japan, where the level and quality of service are exceptional- the colors and place is so kawaii I adore itCONS:- Parking may become an issue as things start to reopen after covid- they have limited hours, which is common for specialized local bakeries in Seattle, but may be a hassle for some- Would love a bigger variety of flavors, especially with ube and pandan! We are still dreaming of dochi and cant wait to go back

I got a half dozen of these because they looked really cool and I was excited to eat a donut that wouldnt wreck my stomach (wheat is hard for me to digest).I thought the orbs were going to be filled, but they were basically cake donuts with a light glaze.I ate one after a long day when I was really hungry, thinking it was going to be the best thing I had ever tasted. I succumbed to all of the hype and waited in line for an hour for these and what a disappointment. I tried all four flavors they had available, green tea and oreos, salted caramel with brownie brittle, ube glazed, and taro pebbles. All were overly sweet even for doughnuts. And they WERE NOT FRESH. We were one of the first ones in line (early enough to be offered a free doughnut) so you would expect them to be super fresh. But it tasted of sopped up old fry oil, and the fruity pebbles on the taro pebbles flavor was already soggy right out of the store. I wouldnt expect supermarket doughnuts to be this bad let alone ones as expensive as these.I went with a group from the office, and by the end of the day, almost everyone had left their boxes in the common area because no one wanted to take them home. Extremely disappointing experience.

Came here today for their opening! Ive had mochi donuts before from other places though like Liliha Bakery in Hawaii so I sort of had a general idea of mochi donuts. I was pleasantly surprised that it wasnt as dense as I thought it would be. Its like a Krispy Kreme with a chew! Thats how I would describe it. Its def less on the mochi side. Kinda like...hmmm 80% fluffy donut and 20% chew of a mochi. Not bad though! I liked that it was light.Tarp and fruity pebbles - def on the sweeter end because of the fruity pebbles but I do have somewhat of a sweet tooth so this was a yummy treat!Matcha and cookies - really good! Loved the matcha flavor and how it wasnt too sweet.Cookies and cream - a pretty traditional cookies and cream. What you would expect!Would come again :) its decently priced but would suggest buying it in half dozens ($16) so you can try most of the flavors!!
