Hard to say I like this place yet. Barista couldn’t tell me what Victrola is known for or that there was a signature coffee or any uniqueness to the cafe at all. However, the espresso wasn’t bad. The space is large and open with fun art from artists hanging on the wall. Not strong internet, but happy to experience it and check this coffee off the list.

October 2020: went there to try out their coffee bean. As I prefer dark roast, i asked for their recommendations. Troborough is the one they recommend. It’s not as dark roasted as I wanted but it was not bad. The complementary Americano was too bad that actually spoiled my reputations for them.

Since my days of being a Husky, Victrola has always held a special place in my heart. Their coffee taste unlike any other coffee I’ve ever had. The taste is unmatched. It was something I looked forward to every morning (or actually, every morning I saw I had enough in my bank account to treat myself to a cup) . That is the only drawback, their talents are priced appropriately. A 12oz latte will cost you around $$4 before tip. But like I said, it’s well worth it. The staff has always been top notch, and even during their busiest hours, they took time to remember me and greet me like an old friend, which makes every morning so much better.I recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know when visiting Seattle, and i always hear back praise. Bravo Victrola!

I have delivered here for several years and also show art so I see a different perspective than most. This place is a real busy coffeehouse in a neighborhood with tons of busy coffeehouses, its like some weird phenomenon in this particular area nobody knows how to make their own coffee, instead theyd rather wait in line for 10 minutes to pay too much for a cup they gripe about after sitting next to a smelly person with a dog. Not that this cant be considered people watching at its finest. They have a great tea, pastry and coffee selection, but like someone mentioned its on the lighter side for roasts. They have tons of seating so this tends to create this vacuum where it gets packed, and so many types of people who do stuff at coffeeshops other than drink coffee collect. It reminds me of the old Last Exit, and has a sort of life of itself you cant control. With all that said, the staff here is on par, and know how to make coffee all day long for a steady stream of demanding people. They are like coffee rockstars, and I seriously respect their skills.

The sandwiches were pretty good. The menu is very minimal, but the coffee was good. I just wish that more information was on display. Particularly during this covid pandemic, I think it is best for people to be able to read the menu ahead of time to decide what they would like, and then try to keep the time at the register to a minimum. For me, it was difficult to make those decisions because of things like the milk choices, flavor choices, etc. For instance, I didnt know they had oat milk until I heard someones order being called out as it was ready.Im sure the regulars, and coffee experts have a better idea of what is most likely on offer, but for someone like me who hasnt been to this coffee shop before, and who is only an occasional coffee drinker, it didnt feel super accessible. The employees were very kind, and Im positive that I could have asked any questions I had with good results. The issue for me was that it was busy, and with the pandemic like I said, I felt like I needed to hurry. I have 2 autoimmune diseases, so it is important to only get things that I can consume without too many consequences.

I walked in to Victrola coffee shop at 9:40 in the morning with my 9 month old daughter. I asked the gentleman at the counter kindly for a pumpkin spice latte, he said they did not carry that flavor. As I was walking out I was mocked really loudly and rude by a guy with curly hair screaming pumpkin spice latte at me and my nine month old daughter. This was the rudest customer service I have ever received in the industry, not sure why they think it’s ok to yell and mock a baby and her dad. I never write reviews but this is one that everyone must hear about it.

Great service! We went in to buy some coffee beans for at-home brewing and the baristas were very helpful. The coffee beans came out nicely roasted and tasted amazing! We were surprised when they offered us a free drink (any size, any type) for buying a bag of beans. What a steal!!!The chai latte was great - they brewed the sh*t out of it. Delicious. They were very conscious of how they handled the drink (handing you the straw with a napkin and allowing you to cap your own drink) to minimize touching during COVID - which I deeply appreciate - thanks so much.Highly recommend for friendly attitudes and delicious coffee beans and drinks.

We were looking for a smoothie so we wandered inside and took a look at their menu. Yes, the options are limited but they had what we were looking for - a protein peanut butter smoothie that my daughter and I shared. It was delicious and the perfect ease into our day spent exploring the area. What makes this little shop fun is that its also an art gallery. So while we were waiting for our smoothie we got to check out the lovely paintings adorning the walls. It really added a (dare I say) Seattle-like vibe to the place and I loved it. We also enjoyed their outdoor seating and friendly service. Didnt try the coffee on this trip but Id definitely go back!

Living in a tiny Cap Hill apt, Victrola is truly my living room. Especially on a rainy morning, when they’re playing good music and the whole place smells delicious, there are few places in Seattle I’d rather be—or at least be attempting to get work done. I love seeing new parents, local politicians and community groups, retirees, folks walking their dog, artists, laptop lackeys like me, and everyone else who convenes here. It’s a true community spot. I used to visit in the ‘90s, too, as a teen, when it felt extremely cool, and while I’m a little more jaded now, I love that very little has changed. I’ve been to coffee shops all over, and few have the vibes of this spot. Also, the dirty chais power my existence! I swear they are medicinal.

I walked in to order a coffee to go and mind you, it was my first time in the place. First off I have been in retail for over 10 years and never was treated like a piece of garbage in my life..Trying to find out where the line started the young lady with blonde hair and ponytail was rude and the young lady with black hair and glasses had no desire to take anybodys order as she was trying to pick up the young lady in front of her. What kind of coffee place is this?

After visiting a few times, I feel like I can finally offer an honest review of Victrola Coffee and Art. Peering in the windows from time to time on the way home, this coffee shop had sparked my interest as nearly all of the tables were filled. It always looked lively and friendly. The first night I went in, I had caught a lull in customers at the time. Everyone had already been seated with their orders. I ordered my drink and a sandwich after some careful consideration. The staff was so-so. They werent friendly, but not horrible either. I sat down with my hot drink and waited for my sandwich to be warmed up. After 15 minutes and one customer after me, I finally asked about my hot sandwich I had ordered. Oh. Sorry. Then I was handed a cold sandwich.Sitting from my table, I watched as business started to pick up. I wasnt the only one who had ordered something that was forgotten, especially a food item. Those people were also handed cold food after waiting for their order, a few drinks were missed all together. The staff would apologize, but it was lackluster. Ive been there. Being a barista is harder than it looks and calls for lots of multitasking. It comes down to this: Were all human and things get missed, but putting some sincerity into apologies can go a long way.My following two visits were more of the same. The drinks were eh. . . and the staff were eh. For me, this is part of the coffee shop experience and it just wasnt there. Genuine interaction with patrons and engaging with them even if its simply asking how their day was is a huge way to connect with people.I can note that Victrola coffee seems to be a popular place for meetups and gatherings. In my time visiting, most of the tables were full of people. This coffee shop does seem to attract a community of friends and family, despite the disconnect with the staff. The coffee shop has been kept clean and tidy.
