What a gem! I had a lovely tea there today, even the perfect temperature. Fun barista and lovely remodeled environment. Even got a small free bag of coffee to celebrate their reopening. Highlight of the week!
I stopped here on a whim on my way to the lake, the coffee was delicious and the barista was friendly, but I will not be returning. $6+ dollars for an ice coffee is a crazy. Also, it is their prerogative as a private business to force all patrons to wear a mask, even if vaccinated. But they say they are following recommend state guidelines, when guidelines clearly state fully vaccinated individuals are exempt from mask guidelines. So what gives?Another note, it is take away only right now (they appear to be doing some major remodeling), no where to sit and enjoy your coffee that you just spent a small fortune on.All this being said, the coffee was good.
Good coffee, its a hard pill to swallow when you pay 7$ for a 16oz latte
Comfortable spot to spend a few hours. Decent coffee (strong and dark) and a good tea selection. They carry Nuflours gluten-free treats. Lots of space, a few comfy chairs, and nice windows to watch the world go by. Can get loud when it is full, and 24th Ave is pretty heavily trafficked. But Fuel is the closest hangout spot to the northwest side of the arboretum, which makes it a great spot to stop on a walk or a bike ride.
Kind, consistent, moving-to-third-wave coffee
Liked the place - nice and cozy. Plus, the coffee was good, and the lavender syrup was spread evenly in my latte which is not always the case, but always important to enjoy the coffee. =) So thank you guys, your coffee made my Sunday perfect.
Great coffee, mocha not too sweet, excellent.
Fuel is a delightful local coffee chain. The lattes are great. The decor is vintage road-trip. The Montlake shop has a lot of space, making it nice for conversation or a game of chess. If your mornings are for coffee and contemplation, then this place is for you.
Half the time workers dont even acknowledge your existence. No hi, hello, what can I get for you. Blank stares at best.My father was recently visiting, one of the nicest people you could meet. He asked if they had decaf and the worker walked away from him. He asks the second worker. Same thing. Really?Tried going here maybe a dozen times and would tolerate it as it was convenient, but after my dads experience I will never set foot in there again. There are better and far friendlier places to get a cup in this city.
Like Fuel a lot. Im not a big robust bitter coffee person and it can be a little bitter. But I knew plenty of people like it that way so no need to change anything. They have great pastries and high five pie. I think the service is usually pretty good.
Favorite place. Dessert was delicious. I went there for third time. Coffee was awesome.
Had excellent service, and even better coffee. They had a great selection of snacks and sandwiches, which included delicious gluten free banana bread. The atmosphere was spacious and inviting.
Definitely one of the best coffee places around, im cereal.
Excellent mocha! Great place to sit down and relax. Awesome surrounding neighborhood and scenery.
This place has the best chai lattes! Not too sweet. :) Super nice staff and welcoming atmosphere.
Nice space. Warm and comfy. But no decaf. Only difficult to make decaf Americano.
Great place! Good coffee and good prices. Plenty of outlets. Super amazing staff. Versatile seating, too.
My favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Cozy and good drip coffee.
Great place to meet over coffee and have a small bite. Quiet atmosphere invites conversation. Outdoor seating available and some street parking
Nice neighborhood feel. Great coffee.
Absolutely love their butter cousannts, coffee great.also.
Friendly service. Good coffee.
Good coffee and great staff but they give everyone to-go cups even if drinking coffee “for here” in the cafe. Please ask customers if they want coffee for here (in a mug) or to go (in a disposable cup or customer’s own mug).
This is a great spot to grab something to go or sit down. Good atmosphere for working or studying, lots of seating, not too loud, and good coffee and pastries.
Used to be a pharmacy in the 50s60s
Great atmosphere and delicious coffee. Their pastry is very fresh and tasty, too. Perfect stop after a hike in the Botanic Gardens.
Fuel Coffee in this neighborhood is a bit off the beaten path, which makes for a more enjoyable, relaxed experience. The building is inviting, and open, with a variety of seating areas for one-on-one, small groups, and setting up solo to bust out some work on the speedy wifi. Makes for a great place to grab a cup, then wander over to the UW Arboretum on a sunny afternoon.
A good place to have a small meeting or your first cup of tea in the morning. Due to construction, parking is a little challenging.
Outstanding coffee, parking available nearby on the street. Lots of tables to meet up with friends / work on a laptop. Good wifi.
Amazing coffee and the most friendly employees! (Really good food too!)
An old converted public library. So much great old time Montlake character.
Great breakfast tacos and cozy vibes
A local chain that feels like a neighborhood place. Baristas are skilful and welcoming :)
Great coffee, unique flavor notes to the espresso, and very helpful staff.
Very nice barista and coffee with sufficient seatings.
No nonsense coffee shop. Good coffee, good Wi-Fi ... Chairs could be a bit more comfortable but overall, a nice neighborhood joint.
Great mocha, friendly service. I love this place ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very bad experience at Fuel in Montlake 8/12/17. $20 bill included two ice cold croissant pastries from what turned out to be a refridgerated case, mango juice and one Americana. When asked - directed to microwave in corner so we could warm them up ourselves! Poor service, bad food - will not be returning.
When Im deep asleep dreaming of espresso, this place is what I see.
Great service, great coffee and breakfast zucchini muffins were delicious!
The environment was cozy, the restroom was clean, and the clerk was nice. The iced tea was OK. Starbucks green tea is better.
Wonderfully thoughtful and kind baristas, they do not sell pie anymore
Quick service and great coffee. Ive also studied here a couple of times. It may be hard to find parking at times but theres free parking around the are.
Good coffee and great donuts, great people, great employers. What more could you want?
Very good coffee! Thank you!
Cailin is a beautiful spirit! And she makes amazing drinks!!
Good coffee, nice atmosphere- exactly what I expect from a Fuel.
Coffee is burnt, honestly burnt, drip coffee is oily, the employees are stoic and stiff. I want to love this place. But after half dozen tries. Im done
Pretty cool place but where are the sleeves for my coffee?
A cozy neighborhood coffee shop - good coffee - great experience
Good coffee, fast wifi, nice space, perhaps a bit pricey, but a great neighborhood coffeeshop.
Really enjoyed the cup of Chinese Breakfast tea and a biscotti.
Very friendly, nice place! Good sandwiches.
Great coffee and knowledgeable baristas in a casual, neighborhood location.
The barista is totally hot.
Very cool Road Trip themed cafe and the coffee is great!
Gormet Toaster Pasteries hit the spot. Good location.
There is a woman that works there, she is really anoying. She acts like a hippie.
Macrena Bakery blueberry scone! And of course, the best coffee around.
Nice, casual coffee spot just off the merge of 520 & Montlake; perfect distance from the bus if youre mass transiting, or need a little break from the UW hubbub!
Cozy coffee shop, great atmosphere, and terrific coffee.
Very high caffeine content (hence the name), but the coffee is so strong that you cannot taste any added flavors you pay for. Friendly staff though.
Great ice tea and the best coffee around
Not very friendly to new customers.
Great coffee! Thanks
Empty, quiet coffee shop perfect for a casual meeting.
One of the better coffee joints Ive been to in Seattle.
Friendly staff, good coffee!
Love their coffee and doughnuts!
Great breakfast sandwiches
Delicious coffee. Fare price
Service is so-so. They have no oven to warm their pastries. They send you to the microwave.
Good coffee, friendly baristas!
Good coffee, nice people
Pleasant, simple atmosphere.
