Well, this place is closing after four years. We ordered a slice of cake and breakfast sandwich on a Saturday morning. The ETA was 15 minutes but we thought that had to have been an overestimate, but then one of the couples who had been sitting in the patio (for a long time) just got served their bagel sandwiches and we realized we were in for the full wait.At 14 minutes after the order we got the breakfast sandwich. So the ETA is accurate and a bit wide.

Very cool atmosphere with great food and drink options. The only problem was that they didn’t put Nutella on my Velvet Elvis. 😫

The sandwich was nice, the hot chocolate was decent and the outdoor dining setup was good, but lacked heaters.

I love the atmosphere in this place. The self-serve coffee is a fun treat when you are able to dine-in and hang out. I would give it 5 stars, but the parking is really limited. But overall great service, good coffee and lots of yummy food choices.

The coffee and drinks are exactly what youre looking for in that morning caffeine rush. Where this place elevates is the food. The quiches and sandwiches highlight crust and bread from local bakeries and the Dane doesnt cut any corners with the fillings. They only offer outdoor seating at the moment but have a tent and heaters to mitigate unsavory weather.

I really only come here for Cycle Dogs. However, The Dane has a simple outdoor COVID friendly dining space I appreciate. It could be more comfortable, but it does the job, and my dog is welcome too. The cocktails are a bit overpriced, but they have some hot cocktails you dont see everywhere. They have a good selection of local beers. They also offer vegan accomodations when applicable -free agave or 75c for non dairy milk. I love how you place all orders online, then they call out your order when ready.

Did not mind the putdoor seating, but no waitress, have to place online order with their app, and cant pay with cash, only online payments. we just left, would love to write a review on service and drinks. food had to be ordered the same way, but was a food truck outside, so did net get food either 😒

We had such a wonderful experience at The Dane. The sandwiches are delicious! The beer is amazing (and local) and the staff were so sweet. They found out we were on our honeymoon and brought us a warm cookie to celebrate. This place is great!!!

Great place for a quick bite and to work. I went there to work while I was waiting on my car to be worked on. The interior was spacious with multiple outlets so you can plug in your laptop and start working. Wifi is free with a purchase and make sure to ask the staff there for the password.While I was there, I had a quick grilled cheese plate. Their menu has a good variety of things to choose from. If you are looking for a place to do some work, I’d highly recommend here.

0815 hours and I was able to procure an #UrbanFamily Preservation Raspberry and BlackBerry Sour Ale, sit in a nice comfortable environment, listen to some chill music and get some work done. Staff was super helpful and pointed me in a direction I will be heading later to sample directly from Urban Family in Magnolia. Thanks guys!

Good place for coffee - they have affogatos and lots of comfy seating.Super complicated WiFi password, I think they change it frequently.Decent beer selection, nothing barrel aged.I wasnt the biggest fan of the salmon smorrebrod, it was pretty dry.Their menu looks decent, Id bet some of their other food items are good.

Totally unimpressed! The beers and food qas very expensive! Pain to just order beer using the website. Funny how I can talk to them at the table to pick up my beer, but talking to them to order a beer is a huge danger to their safety!Being the first time we stopped to check the place out. Felt like we were leapers or something disgusting! Not a friendly or nice experience.

I love this place. The baristas, the environment, the hipsters drinking coffee while writing their screenplays, the neighborhood families munching on some locally-sourced pastries...its the perfect community space. They host really wonderful events that support local artists. Their products are fresh, as local as possible, and so tasty. And the Danish theme in both the space and the menu is so refreshing. Skål!

Plenty of seating but few outlets so not the most convenient place to work off a laptop unless you sit at the bar.Music can be loud, more rock n roll vibe than chill.Good for small group gatherings. They advertise local events.Cool happy hour specials.

Love it. Closest place to my house and among the best tap lists in town. Also a coffee shop and restaurant, lots of events and just a great place to sit all day while I work, wrap with a happy hour beers, and I basically go there 3+ times per week. It awesome.

Danish smorgasbord type restaurant decent food but not really my thing. The cardamom-cherry hard cider however was excellent and I have not found that anywhere else yet. Was full of people working on their laptops or reading the paper, a fairly quiet place with fairly friendly staff. I came by on a Friday early in the afternoon.

A nice little coffee and pastry shop featuring beer and wine, with more substantial food on the menu leaning towards Scandinavian fare (lox, bratwurst, salads, cheese boards). They recently got a liquor license and have basic cocktails available. Happy hour is from 3-6 and 9 til close, with similar discounts during Seahawks & Sounders games available on flat screens as well as a projector

Randomly checked this place out while doing stuff at a friends house. Yummy yum. Good coffee, tasty breakfast sandwiches, and the cardamom roll was spot on. Will definitely visit again.

The Dane has a great atmosphere and offers a bit of everything. A great place to do some work, to play a game with friends, or to bring your kids. Offering a nice selection of alcoholic beverages with many beers and ciders on tap, as well as bottles and some wines, and a full selection of coffee beverages, there is something for everyone. Also offer a few snack items and light meal items. Plenty of space to spread out, you wont be packed in right beside your neighbor.

Great coffee. Friendly service. And Sunday they have a cellist play during brunch hours. It is fantastic 🎻

What can I say? The Dane is, even its relatively short existence, a neighborhood staple. Perfect spot to get work done during the day (I’ve completed entire work projects sitting at that bar over the course of several weeks), and a great place for bringing the family as well. Staff is super friendly and generous. Space is bright and cheery, never feels crowded (even at capacity!). Can’t recommend enough.

Came for a trivia night and really fell in love with the place! Great beer selection and nice vegetarian meal options. Definitely a busy night, but Ive heard from friends that its a great place to get some work done.

Everyone I know who lives in this neighborhood loves the Dane. Its a great place to work on your laptop and transition from coffee to beer. Its a great place to meet up with a couple of friends. Its got clean lines that make adults feel like adults but manages to also be kid-friendly. Lots of large windows to help with Seattles S.A.D. They have a consistently solid, local tap list.

They run out of bagels by 10am everyday, wish they stocked more, past 3 times they didnt have any. Coffee is great though.Edit: 5 stars for bagel re-supply 👍

This place is such a gem! The staff is always so kind, friendly and they rock at their jobs. The selection of beer, coffee, and food is plentiful. The atmosphere is unassuming and unpretentious. This place is perfect for just about anything

Went here for a birthday party of a 1year old... aka 7 adults cooing over the little one while partaking in delicious bites and drinks. :-) Definitely a versatile and welcoming space complete with patio seating.

My favorite place to try new beers!

The Dane is a great spot to do the full work-to-evening transition. They offer a great, low-cost food menu, along with a thorough coffee menu and an amazing variety of great beer, bottles and draft included. I highly recommend the Dane if youre looking for somewhere to meet with a couple of friends for some food and drinks, or if you want to throw on a pair of headphones and get some work done. They also offer events, some of which can be a little noisy, but all in good fun and never to the point of not being able to be blocked out with a pair of headphones.

I was there for the love music which was awesome. Food wise there isnt a lot of options, but whats there both looks great and tastes even better. I had the Dane Dog -- everything just blended together perfectly, now I want cream cheese on all my food dogs. On the other side there are a lot of drinks, 30ish on tap not to mention cocktails, wine, and bottles - I had the Strawberry Gin Punch and Old Fashion Stout, I preferred the gin and it tastes just like the name suggests. The Stout is like a Guinness but its got a weirder after taste like its lighter or floatier. All in all Im very pleased with my experience.

The Dane is a great coffee shop, with excellent coffee and mostly organic snacks, light meals, and baked goods, but its also a great community hangout. Theres an excellent selection of craft beer on tap, and some good kombucha for those who dont want alcohol for afternoon or evening. Theres a kids area but I avoid that. They host a lot of events like a regular trivia night, but also special events.

Good hangout spot. We come from breakfast and you cant go wrong with any of the menu items.

Great sandwiches and beers. Only draw back was the bill came to $55 for 2 sandwiches and 2 beers with tip. Other than that good atmosphere and service. Certainly worth a visit!

The interior of this local shop is very nice. It is comfortable, inviting and open with the feeling of lots of space. I would say this is a good place for lunch. The menu has a few sandwiches and mostly plate that you share. This is a good thing for when you are here with friends. Though the sandwich I had was good. You order at the bar and bus your own tables. As for parking, they have 3 spot so you may need to park on the street. They do have a very good beer selection with coffee and tea. All in all this would be a great place to gather with a group of friends to shear some small plates and hoist a few beers. Cheers.

Fun place! The women taking orders noticed we had a larger party and asked if someone sitting alone at 4 top would mind moving which was unexpected and really nice. The guy slinging espresso beverages seemed particularly chipper and very dedicated to his craft. Cant wait to come back 😀

I went in on the first real sunny day of spring and had a delicious lox on rye bread. I spoke Norwegian to the server and she understood me perfectly. Good food and a HUGE beverage list of local craft beers. Well done!

The Dane offers a little bit of everything. They have alcoholic drinks and cafe style drinks all day. They offer a small menu with good options. Great space to do some work or meet with friends. FYI Parking is limited, they only have 3 spots.

Went for breakfast with 4 adults and a 7 year old, right after they opened. There were a few people there but it was not at all crowded. The owners were friendly and happy to describe items and make recommendations. We felt comfortable and welcome. The food was interesting, light, healthy and tasty especially the laks (smoked salmon) dill and rye, and the drinks were good especially the espresso and salted caramel ice cream! The place was half full when left. We want to come back for happy hour because they have a lot of taps of interesting and good beers. We will go again.

Delicious beers and ciders here. Has a very friendly neighborhood feel to it. Came in for Bingo night a d was happy to find they had wonderful ice cream too.

I was here earlier this month and fell in love with the place. Much larger than I anticipated. My coffee selection and sandwich were wonderful. The atmosphere was nice and the staff extremely friendly. Had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners. You need to give this place a try. Definitely worth a drive.

Not what I would call cozy but feels like home thanks to the friendly, awesome service, great 90s music, and the 3 sofas in that one corner. Would definitely go again. Coffee was tasty. Would like to see more little treats to add to your coffee (brown sugar, vanilla shaker, and some different creamer options, etc.), otherwise my complaints are few!

Enjoyed a private event here with fantastic beer selection - Urban Family, Modern Times, etc. It is adorably Scandinavian and seems like a great bar-café blend. Wish I was local to enjoy it more!

Fun place especially when they have live music. Good drink selection and I like the cheese plates. But heads up- on Fridays the WiFi turns off at 7.

The Yeti was a top notch stout! My favorite part of the experience is the passionate and helpful staff. They truly care about the cafes success and are equally personable and hard working. The interior seems clean and contemporary, but the opening seems rushed and it was hard for me to look past a few unfinished details. You wouldnt expect to see a cool bar in this part of town, but as hipsters and Amazon money pushes north this place will become the norm, and right now its an inspiration for others to risk investing in a similarly classy establishment.

New favorite place for EVERYTHING. Spent a few hours doing homework here on a Saturday afternoon—the drinks, both coffee and alcohol, are delicious, the space is open and welcoming, and the staff is incredibly friendly and hospitable. Cant wait to come back!

Interesting idea of customer serviceWhile sitting at one of many barstools it is really hard to see the bumper sticker sized signs stuck to round columns. There is a hanging sign that says order HERE. Why is there a staff 5 people standing behind the bar and I have to leave my seat to order at a station? I know many servers that could handle the customers at the bar and the 5 1 tops, 2 2 tops and the party of 8 by themselves. Maybe a bit of help busing the finished tables.Call me old fasioned but when I sit at the BAR isnt that ordering at the bar?I understand that 5:20 pm may not be as busy as a Friday or Saturday night, but one out of five employees certainly could handle the customers at the bar in front of them.

Awful. Nice motif but honestly the slowest and worst service I have had in this city. Dont order any food unless you all day to wait. Never recommending this place to anyone.

Good beers, decent food, and TVs to watch local sports. Good coffee too. Id recommend it for a chill place to watch the Seahawks on a Sunday afternoon and you could even take your kids as they have games and stuff for them and they can play while you have a beer.

Delicious hot sandwiches for lunch. The place is very clean, comfortable and a welcoming staff. Parking can be an issue but, Its still a place I plan to eat lunch with friends or family soon.

I love this place. Ive been here for coffee, beer, tea, concerts, dates, and meetups with friends and its always a good time. Great selection of beer, delicious coffee, and a wonderful presentation with their teas. Food here is also recommended.

Food was decent, coffee was good, the service left me wanting. I asked for a macchiato and got the response Do you know what a macchiato is? This isnt Starbucks! I hear ya wait staffers, it can be tough to deal with basic boys like me. But give us a chance to learn and we just might surprise you!

Im changing my review about the Dane. For some unknown reason they have decided to turn off the WiFi on Friday and Saturday evenings. I go there because I liked the atmosphere and most of the staff are pretty great (not the one who told me to just use my data to do my homework, if I wanted to do that I would have stayed home!). This was my one way of getting things done while not being a complete recluse working full-time and taking night classes. And there still isnt coffee on the happy hour menu!

I love it for family, friends, or date. Oh left my cards no Xtra charges and it was there to pickup next day.

I go there for the excellent espresso, so I cant speak to the food or other offerings. Chill atmosphere, lots of seating and light. I can see why laptop warriors go here, though Im more inclined to the game corner. One downside: theres only 3 parking spaces.

Great addition to this neighborhood. Coffee and fresh pastries, simple food plus food trucks and a good selection of craft beer. Its a chill and welcoming environment, kids welcome and free WiFi. Has kind of a Scandinavian art deco thing going on which is a little confused, but staff are great and well make up for that.

If you wanna do work or homework is not recommendable during early afternoon or night. The atmosphere is good but it’s too distracting. Too many people chatting, loud music from inside and outdoor noise. If they leave the window open you can feel the breeze but it brings bugs inside.Staff and food incredible!! WiFi, low quality. Come here if you wanna have fun with friends or family. Not a place to do work nor homework.

Had a cafe latte and a cardamom bun 10 am in the morning which were fine. Nice and spacey room, which is probably good for working on your laptop during the day and sitting down for a beer in the evening.

Probably the best new place in Ballard for drinks. Reminds me of my visits to Denmark, except there is a lot more than just Carlsberg. Great atmosphere and cheerful staff! Ill be visiting there again soon.
