We were looking for the Ballard Locks and took a wrong turn. We stumbled across this coffee shop and it turned out to be a great experience! I had a mocha, was perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too hot. The main room had a really good feel to it. I definitely will go back there when Im in the area.
The best roaster in WAbeen addicted to their coffee beans since 1999never had any better coffee than this roastersmorning passion is after all my best blend
First off, Ill admit Im a coffee snob, and by that I mean Ill take what I can get (like Starbucks) if there isnt anything better, but I do like high quality (illys, Ravens Brew, Pegasus, etc.) Ive had Caffé Appassionato coffee before at small vendors and its not my favorite. The coffee is smooth, but had no particular flavor and is a super light roast. But Im in the area for a class and this was the only coffee place in walking distance between the class and the hotel that opened early enough (class starts at 7:30am!). So, the coffee gets about 2 stars in my opinion. They do have a good selection of non-dairy milks. The service was 5 stars, very friendly and very quick. The atmosphere is 5 stars, love the heavy wood chairs and tables because they have better back support and dont wobble around like the cheap metal stuff. I especially like the window into the roasting machine area and the outdoor patio with the boarder of bushes.
Pleasant staff, good coffee, great selection of pastries, breakfast burritos and sandwiches. JS
Great atmosphere never been inside what a neat place. Coffee was extra good.
Friendly and reasonably quick service. Good coffee.
4th and final te trying this place. This last one was genuinely awful. Other 3 times have been ok at best.
Great latte. Beautiful day. Nice people.
Was dying in the heat when they saved me with a cold mocha 000😄
Coffee is good, the drive through is very slow but there’s also an option to go inside so it’s okay.
Great coffee and friendly staff. Really like drive up option. Buy my beans here.
Absolutely love this place. They honestly serve some of the best coffee Ive had and the service is always stellar. The staff is so friendly. Despite the dozen or so coffee houses right in Ballard, I willingly drive over the bridge (and risk getting stuck if the bridge goes up) just for their coffee. :) Ive never been inside, but the drive-thru is always quick.
Good Coffee, seating inside and out.
Got a latte and scone while out for a walk. It was a great pick me up with all this rain and wind. Plus, I got a huge bag of beans to make some home brew. I will be back again!
This is the only coffee in existence as far as I am concerned. Look forward to drinking this coffee every morning. Smooth, robust, and satisfying.
They’re just okay. I’ve gone a few times when the drive-through isn’t busy on my way to work, but I feel like they mess up my order about 50% of the time. It’s hit or miss, but I understand that people make mistakes. It’s just not my favorite coffee spot. 🤷🏻♀️
Simply the best coffee I’ve ever had and I lived in the greater Seattle area for over sixteen years. I miss the smell of the roasting coffee beans that surrounded this place for more than a square mile. I’ll choose café Appassionato over Seattle’s best and Starbucks everyday of the year. A must have for anyone who loves coffee.
Nice, chill coffee shop. A good place to work or read.
Excellent coffee, drive thru is quick and shop interior is high class, and unique with the roastery visible through glass.
Very nice inside Tuscan Italian joint
Dropped in for an after dinner coffee. An acoustic group was playing 60s music. Coffee was excellent and the atmosphere and decor were spot on. Met Jane who was friendly and conversational. We enjoyed ourselves so much we decided to come back for breakfast. Selection of coffees is excellent.
Here is the Best reasons I can think of is. Best Coffee I have ever had..I really didnt used to be a coffee drinker, until I Tried the Appassionatos. You can blame my Boss Richard, but now like Rich I look forward to crossing the Ballard bridge every morning for Coffee.. And the Staff are Great!!!🤗😉.They just seem to know what you want before you get to their service window or ordering Counter inside. In other words the Staff are the BEST. ALWAYS CLEAN AND ON TOP OF THEIR JOB.!!🤗😉
Seriously the best coffee. Like its stupid good. Even their decaf is good. Go there. Do it now. Then take your coffee over to the marina and sit on a bench thinking about how blessed you are (Because you are! I mean, look around you!) and how much you want to come back here every day. PS. They have a drive thru, too.
Great coffee and sweet treats.
I dont typically write reviews, but thought the staff was so kind and welcoming that I felt compelled to. The coffee is amazing and I love that you can see the roastery preparing everything. Im not usually in the area, but liked it enough to want to find excuses to come here.
Haven’t been in person, but I buy the Morning Passion Breakfast Blend at my grocery store. It’s my favorite coffee right now. I prefer low acidity coffee which is hard to find sometimes.
Very well made coffee in a wonderful location. The interior and exterior both are peacefully designed and make for a superb location to meet, work tranquilly or just have a robust beverage in peace. If you end up in Magnolia this is a superb place to stop!
Lovely beignets, excellent staff, and the best Italian Soda Ive found since leaving San Francisco. Definitely a hidden gem among all the shops around here.
Its nice and cozy and love talking to the employees
Amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Nitro cold brew is outstanding. Tried it and immediately bought a pound
Watching the beans roast is always entertaining. Their decaf is absolutely the best and if youre a fan of mochas, try their Appassionato mocha (hint Dilettante chocolate). This location has a cozy little meeting room as well. Parking can be a challenge lately but other than that, they are still great.
Always best to get your coffee straight from the source.
This is a great little local coffee shop. They roast and sell their own beans (which you can see being done from inside). I enjoy their coffee and its reasonably priced, but admittedly I do not have a sophisticated palette. There is a drive-up window if youre on the go which is nice. The staff is very helpful (I think they may mostly employ local students and I noticed that they have specials for SPU enrollees).I havent tried their food. They have a small electric griddle they use to cook eggs, breakfast meats, and make sandwiches. Nothing gourmet but I would gladly try it before getting McDonalds breakfast.Generally its not too loud and there is lots of seating. You can even reserve a conference room, I think (not sure on the logistics). Ample parking and they even have outdoor tables which would be nice in the warmer months.
Seattle native here stuck in Washington DC for the past 12 years. Every few weeks I order a 5 lb bag of whole bean coffee from Caffe Appassionato. Sure, there are coffee roasters back East, but the Espresso Roast is unlike any other. Always friendly on the phone, and fast delivery. Ironically Ive only been to the 21st Ave roasting location twice, despite drinking the coffee daily. For me, it was like a trip to Mecca. They were really excited when I visited... that DC customer! I was known as. What a great welcome.
I go here pretty often as I work nearby. They have amazing coffee (you can sometimes see them roasting it in house though a glass window) and tons of syrup flavors if you like to add those. Its also a great place to grab a quick bite to eat for breakfast.
Not tasty, need to upgrade
Went through the drive thru, which does not look like anything. The guy who made my coffee was very nice. Coffee is amazing!
Best cup of coffee in town, in my opinion. And quite pleasant baristas too!
Nice homey place with lots of good food and coffee. Wheelchair accessible.
Little world of coffee at a weird location, very cozy inside. Breakfast food was ok, great croissants. There is a drive-trough, but indoor seating neat a piano is great.
We ordered 16oz caramel macchiatos. This has to be one of the best macchiatos Ive had. I dont know if it was the bean or something else (pretty sure hes hiding a secret ingredient from us) but I highly recommend you try it. The decor was pretty cool also, even the walk in was nice... Just wish the piano and roaster were being used during the visit.
I just get ice tea when I meet a friend. Teas the best in the whole world.🥰
When I visit my family in Seattle we often go to Caffe Appassionato. The coffee is delicious, atmosphere inviting and the staff are wonderful! Yes, put this place on your list as need to go, you will enjoy!
A quick stop for coffee and breakfast sandwiches, easy drive through or parking out front. Spacious patio.
Very noisy, even though there were only a few people there. Difficult to have a conversation with extremely loud machinery, banging metal trays, cups grabbed up and dropped roughly in bins. Coffee was good, not exceptional. Difficult to find this place, no clear signs on awnings.
Great Americano! They also have a drive thru.
Great place for a coffee and snack near Fishermans Terminal. And they have a piano!
My favorite coffee house. It may take awhile to get a drink but the servers are very nice and I like the relaxed atmosphere. Plus their coffee is very tasty.
The best place in Magnolia to kill time while waiting for traffic to clear.
Good coffee
Out of the way but good coffee. They roast on site. Concrete floor is cool in summer.
Good coffee. Charming atmosphere. Not too loud, not too quiet. They allow dogs on their patio.
This coffee place is Im north magnolia by the fishermans terminal. Its spacious; they have indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a small conference room for meetings and a drive thru.
Good coffee, good people, good service and Good setting. What else do you need? Food, theyve got that too
Great coffee, friendly service and a very pleasant atmosphere. Feels like what a coffee house should be.
I Love the smell of this place. The coffee is roasted right there ! And it taste as good as it smells
Morning passion coffee this morning, super delish, always ask myself why I do not get back to this location more, super non corporate ambiance etc
My go to place for my coffee purchases and a great place to sit down and work. Big tables, calming atmosphere and great fresh choices in coffee. Downside is that sometimes parking is a tougher.
Just not good. The food case was mostly empty. Breakfast sandwiches are microwaved, not toasted, and then served mostly cold. Team seems understaffed and overwhelmed by simple orders. The menu could be great, but not with that tiny electric grill...
Love the atmosphere. Great coffee.
Love this place, I just wish they would leave a bit more room for cream & sugar :)
Great food, good coffee.
Cute café with roastery on site. Always smells amazing. The only thing is the service is on the slow side.
THE best tasting coffee in Seattle by far, in my opinion (and everyone that I’ve shared their coffee with too). The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is charming too!
The space is spacious yet cozy, the coffee is delicious, and the baristas never fail to smile and ask about your day. This is my favorite coffeeshop to relax at.
Great little coffee shop! Nice that they have free parking (so hard to find in Seattle) and super delicious coffee with friendly service.
Great coffee and roasted on site
Hard to enjoy a cup a coffee when its so loud . The person describing how coffee is roasted has no volume control.
Great service, food is always delicious
They have drive thru it looks like from the outside?? Yet no mention of it or a menu on the website??? How do you expect any new business?? I drive by this twice daily for the past 16mo and yet go else where bc they have a website w a menu
Awesome Sumatra roast. Cozy place; great customer service.
Great coffee and nice stop over midday
I always experience super friendly customer service here!
Shots pulled perfectly, service was quick and friendly. Great atmosphere, Ill be back.
Watching the coffee roast while waiting for my drink is quite nice.
Come every morning when in town for work. Great coffee, friendly staff, and good simple breakfast sandwiches and scrambles
Cute little coffee shop with great service and delicious coffee and breakfast sandwiches!
Friendly staff. Good food and they have white coffee.
Seattle Seahawks official coffee! The best coffee roaster in Seattle. Hands down great coffee!
Good coffee, friendly staff, lovely patio.
Bjorn is the best barista!
I have shifted to getting all my coffee beans here. The coffee roasted does it perfectly.
Beans were over roasted and bitter.
Great chai and warm and cozy atmosphere.
Great Caffe and great people with very kind heart.
Love this place!
Lovely ambiance and great coffee. Very clean
Employees were rude and unprofessional my hemp mocha was burnt and tasted like 50 shots of white chocolate syrup. I wont be going there again
Delicious coffee, nice place, good customer service.
Kind of expensive! Good drinks, though.
Great food, amazing atmosphere!
Good coffee, friendly staff, nice place to chill out!
Amazing little coffee shop.
Friendly, welcoming, warm! Awesome spot!
Always love their coffee and service
Delicious coffee and extremely fast.
Good atmosphere and great cookies and coffee.
Everybody there is super friendly.
