Great neighborhood coffee shop that opens early, and a nice indoor space for people to socialize and work. It has two floors with plenty of tables and seats (looks a little crowded given the current social distancing situation but must be really fun and lively pre-covid).I had a good cup of latte in the morning, price is reasonable and service was quite friendly.

The coffee and Macrina breakfast treats were delicious. Loved the atmosphere otherwise and space otherwise, and the wifi was super dependable! However, I was very surprised at how many people sat inside unmasked given the current mask mandate (literally almost everyone except for staff!). Totally get it when youre actively eating/drinking - but people werent wearing masks for hours. We kept our masks on when not eating/drinking, but it made us very uncomfortable. (We wouldnt have chosen to stay if we didnt have 2.5 hours to kill near our kids half day camp.)

Beautiful local coffee shop and definitely my preference for something within walking distance from my home. Very nice design, and its unfortunate theres no inside dining yet; one of these days, Id love to sit on the second floor. All the drinks I got so far were very tasty. Nice, strong coffee all around. I had a good breakfast burrito as well; I think they bring them in from elsewhere, but theyll certainly do. There are options if youre vegetarian.

Im new to Seattle, but Ive heard great things about the coffee here. I got the drip coffee 3 days ago on Saturday, and it was remarkably watery. The menu said drip / french press so I assume they have some giant press for this. Today, Tuesday, I went back and the drip was watery again.j So I asked the barista if she had tried it herself and she said, well its french press. I can put a shot of espresso in it for you. Perhaps my roommate used to make french press with more gusto, but Ive never had a weaker cup o joe. My understanding of a french press too is that you just leave the coffee and water together in the press for 5-10 minutes until the water is saturated with the coffee oils. If its watery, its most likely just that you didnt put enough beans in or didnt let it sit long enough. French press is supposed to be a very robust cup because of this compared to chemex brewing which just drains relatively quickly and is therefore lighter and brighter. Next time Ill check to see if theyve made any adjustments in their drip / french press recipe and probably just get an espresso drink.

Ive been coming here quite frequently since the the pandemic started and after months of high quality service and impeccable consistency I felt i owed them a review.Never during the ups and downs of the past few months have i received a bad cup of coffee. im not a barista i do know that its incredibly difficult to get it right every day. There are so many factors that can go wrong so i do expect every once in a while to get a bad cup even from the best of establishments. That has never happened. Not once. Every time its served politely with a freindly smile and ALWAYS in a real cup. I truly feel like they respect their customers. They dont compromise on taste. The crossaints (technically cornettos) are delicious. For me thats whats important. The rest of the food is....ok. good enough for a coffee shop but i wouldnt come here for the food. They focus on the coffee here and for that I am grateful. The decor is beautiful as well. While the tables and chairs are well worn and the fake leather couches are cracked and torn i hardly notice because the shop is always filled with a rotating gallery of local artists. All the peices for sale and if i had the money i would definitely spring for one, or two! The center peice is a beautiful glass sculpture spanning both levels. while it sits dusty it is always a pleasure to ponder.Through the hallway theres a bulletin board stuffed with fliers events and advertisements for the community the recurring theme always rings support local. The bathrooms are......well they could be worse. Often a line forming to occupy the single space.Outlets here are usually able to be had. Sometimes when its busy it requires a bit of scouting but thats all part of the fun.Ok now the fun partThe Coffee:The coffee itself lends itself a beautiful chocolaty taste. Nutty rich and warm. The drip somehow has a hint of natural sweetness to it which i find delightful. Like most seattle espressos its made to be consumed withat least a hint of milk and from their lattes to machiattos they just always get it right.I would Highly recommend patronizing this shop. They respect their customers and it shows. I will keep coming back and I hope nothing changes.

Love this place! I come in pretty regularly (pre and post corona) and not only are they observing all of the social distance and mask orders, they also have really great coffee!! I normally get a latte with an extra shot, a flavor, and an alt milk and even if I wanted to get a breakfast sandwich too, I know it’s not going to be a ridiculous total. AND I’m still going to get great vegan coffee and a delicious not as vegan sandwich!! Although, I’m pretty sure they may have vegan sandwich options haha 10/10 would recommend (and street parking is pretty abundant too)

I was upstairs minding my own business, working on my homework when the barista came upstairs and asked if I had purchased anything. (Karens are everywhere people, in all shapes, sizes, and ages.). I asked her why did she ask me that question. She replied because this is a patrons only establishment. I reminded her that she was the one who told me a few days ago that they could make my coffee in my personal cup, which I showed her my cup. Granted I had been here since the morning, and I guess she was on the later shift, but I also had bought a sandwich that cost over $8. I would hate to attribute her questioning me due to my skin tone, but seriously WTH? I hadnt seen/heard her ask anyone else this. Good feelings and good mood gone. I promptly packed up my homework, gave a customer my punch card and told her that I will not be coming back, which I won’t be.

I only go to coffee shops to study so my review reflects that. Seattle Sunshine is a welcome addition for the Bryant/Wedgwood neighborhood. Ive found that most of the coffee shops around here cater to families, which is fine but it means that they are noisy. Seattle Sunshine has a refined, modern look that is complemented by great espresso, non-offensive music (in volume and genre), good wifi, and tons of seating. The upstairs area is great for studying.
