I purchased a mini set from Collins via another platform. I was impressed with the speed of delivery, packaging and the reasonable cost.Going forward I will deal directly with Collins. They have proven themselves to be one of the finest rarebook sellers I have encountered for International transactions.

Ordered a used book from Collins Books via a third party site (AbeBooks) and Google accidentally populated an old address of mine into the shipping line. I reached out the next morning when I realized and the store quickly responded and changed my shipping address on the order right before putting it in the mail. Book arrived in great condition a week later, practically new and much cheaper than I could find it through any other source. Very pleased with my order and the customer service, and happy to support an independent bookstore.

Great 👍price on a rare Seattle publication. Interesting variety of books available. Our family has been here since 1878 and Collins books has great research and reference materials. 👏 One publication they provided listed at 200% on other sites! Well be back for more for sure.

Bill has done some digging for me in the past year for which Im grateful - although what he ultimately found did not match what I was after at the time. Im glad he finally had a book I wanted and Im happy to say, it arrived matching its description, and with perfect packaging. Im looking forward to more obscurities from this wonderful place. Thank you Collins Books.

Granted, Ive made only one purchase from this source, but my initial impression is that Collins Books is among the best book sellers with whom I have dealt. Their descriptions of the very old first-edition books in which I was interested were detailed and accurate, communications with them was prompt and thorough, packing was excellent, and shipping prompt.

I found a book I was searching for through ABE Books. The seller was Collins Books in Seattle. I hesitated for a while because shipment to Canada cost more ($34) than the book itself ($30). Im happy to report that everything went well; payment and arrangements were easy; the book arrived in great condition, securely wrapped, weeks before I expected it. Perfect transaction. Id happily deal with Collins again and when we can travel again Id like to go to Seattle and check out the store in person.

I recently go my amateur radio license and was looking for older books on radio technology and antenna design. Bill at Collins Books very quickly came up with a great selection of books on the subject. Some were still relevant and informative, and some were nostalgic and nice to have. Ill always check with Collins first when shopping for rare or antique technical books.

This place is an unexpected treasure trove of rare and hard to find books. Plenty of speciality and academic titles, but also just a lot of interesting marginalia. The customer service is excellent and the proprietor knows the trade in and out. Always a top notch experience with this shop.

CollinsBooks was the third bookshop I visited after moving to Seattle but it should’ve been my first. Loved going in for their great selection of history books but since covid I have to get my fix online. Great part of that is ordering directly from them gets you free shipping. Can’t recommend enough!

I found a book that a friend of mine had been seeking for quite some time, at a very good price. Bill at Louis Collins Books gave me exceptional customer service. After I bought the book, he held it until we could arrange for shipping to my friend, which involved Bill phoning me for the address. Then he took it to the post office the same day (following our 2:30 pm phone call) because we had a time deadline for delivery. I was so impressed by the old-school personal service of this professional bookseller.

I have not received such fantastic service since I worked with Mark over at the Oracle building last year. My good friend Lee recommended this place and so I took the hike to get here and boy was it worth it. The storefront is very unassuming but once youre inside, its, well its still unassuming. I was perusing the significant book selection, fumbling around looking for some books about jazz (felt like I was seeking a needle in the hays stack with how many books there were), when this very helpful gentleman intercepted me and inquired about my needs. The man was wearing an old hoodie sweatshirt and had hair in complete disarray, picture Bill Belichick. Turns out his name was also Bill, and after we had talked a bit about what I was looking for we struck up quite the lengthy conversation about a number of random topics (gunns, frech language history, and, keeping with the Belichick theme, football turned out to be one of Bills passions too). Its a good thing hes mainly in the business of books because it sounds like football isnt his strong suit.I think over an hour melted away as we traded stories, felt like talking with an old friend, well, an old friend with a vocabulary and breadth of literary insight that far outpaced my normal friend circle (Im talking about you Ted, Brian, Larry and Derek). Eventually we got back around to talking about the book genre I was after and Bill punted me over towards this little stack in the cornerback in the rear of the place. They were some newer titles that folks had just traded in that week and well what do you know, they fit what I was looking for. Thanks to Bill I got me a copy of Berklee Jazz Drums by Casey Scheuerell and A Jazz Funeral for Uncle Tom by Harmony Holiday that will keep me occupied on my flight to Ohio later this month - it was justin time too, I got out of there almost too late to beat traffic back home.Appreciate your help Bill! Ill definitely be back! Maybe Ill bring my friend Josh next time so you can teach him some stuff - books or not this is the place to be to just hang out with Bill.
