Love this place! Always super friendly staff and the service guys are extremely helpful. Perfect local shop
Highly recommend going here if you need service on your bike. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer all of your questions.
This place is great. The dude in the back stopped what he was doing to square me away with some brake cable stuff. Knowledgeable gentleman saved me money and learned me some things about bicycles.
The service department is knowledgeable and helpful. I tried another shop first but they weren’t willing to help transfer a race without reassembling and bringing the whole bike in, and they wanted me to purchase an entire new headset rather than transfer existing parts. These guys had it sorted in minutes.
The crew at JRA are truly the best. Ive been a customer since 7/2018 and theyve only had my best interests in mind. They even suggest cheaper alternatives to what Im looking for - they are not out to upsell you at all. Helpful, friendly and personable this crew is awesome to chat with; I havent had the same type of service anywhere else. 2 thumbs up. 👍
First time bringing my bike here and I am so happy I did! Excellent service. My repaired bike rides like a dream. They were quick, communicative, and fairly priced. They even stayed past closing so I could pick up my bike after work. 10 stars. Thank you guys!!
I love that this is my neighborhood bike shop. They are the best! Theyre super friendly and have a good selection of both bikes and accessories.
Have been here many times for parts and a few small repairs. People are nice and know their stuff. Great selection of items in store. Love the community feel of this place, you can tell they care about what they do.
Very pleasant staff. very efficient.
Helpful, knowledge people and reasonable prices.
I flatted on my road bike about a mile from the shop, and managed to hoof it over. Both of the folks in there were super helpful and kind enough to lend me the shop pump to get my spare tube seated and inflated. Ive driven by a ton of times, but this was the first time I dropped in. Ill definitely make sure to recommend them to anyone in the neighborhood!
Luke went above and beyond to help me repair my mtn bike even though I ultimately purchased nothing directly from his shop! Amazing customer service and Going way beyond what was expected of him!
The personal interaction was limited. Any other year that probably would be an issue but in this case not so much to me anyways. Their work was exceptional and I will continue to have my bikes problems handled by them in the future. Thank you for getting my bike back on the road for me. Yall dont understand what it means to me.
JRA is the place to go! I dropped my bike off and it was ready for pickup in under 24 hours. Not only did they fix the chain issue I had but they also tightened my brakes. Even cost less than I anticipated.Speed, quality and service. What more could you want?
A big thanks to the mechanics at JRA. Thank you so much for replacing my shredded gear shift cable and tube!Absolutely professional and courteous. I showed up way before opening time, because I was coming off of a night shift. When they arrived they set a few things up to start the day off and came right out to meet me (Ive been here before). They took my work order and told me theyd contact me as soon as it was done. They did just that and I had my bike returned in working order within the day. Payment by card was quick and without issue, then I was on my way. When they saw I was struggling to put my heavy backpack over my shoulder, they even offered to help. Maybe it was a one-off, but I appreciated the thought.Friendly, caring, conscientious, professional. If anybody reading this needs their bike serviced or is looking to buy; I cant say if these guys are better than who youre used to, but JRA is a competent bike shop and is worth giving a try.
Terrible! I didnt even get to go in! Didnt see the sign Make an appointment oops! Anyhow young man walks out with most rude attitude!!! He appeared irritated comes out crossed arms Yeah, what can I do for you New to Seattle, looking for a bike. I showed my LE badge to maybe ease some fear but he blew that off and continued being unconcerned about helping. I was going to buy 4 bikes for me and my family. Id pay big box prices before I deal with that shop!
Needed to have my front derailleur replaced. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly, though, theyre taking covid very seriously, so I felt safe having them work on my bike.
Ive been there couple of times last two weeks Luke was amazing very knowledgeable very friendly took his time to explain everything for me I definitely recommend this place especially luke. You wont disappointed
I called to make an appointment and the person helped me out over the phone so I didnt even need to come in! If anyone wants to make an appointment though please be sure to email first to check out what the schedule looks like. If my bike needs any major repairs I know who to go to!
Great customer care. They sell unicycle as well.
I have been in this shop a few times always with the same result; very satisfied. Today I went there with an old pump that I had not been able to repair. Luke took it inside and then came back to tell me it was missing a piece. He suggest leaving it and perhaps he could find another piece that would work. Ten minutes later he called to say the pump was fixed. These guys are VERY good, but never too good to apply 100% effort on the smallest problem. This is definitely my new go-to shop. Greggs is good but so are these guys. Support local! My ride: Super Record Gios Torino and Gary Fisher Hoo Koo e Koo Comp.
Great and affordable work on my bike.
Very knowledgeable and finds the tricky nuances of a bike. They are my go to bike shop!
Extremely helpful in every way. A real neighborhood bike shop dedicated to riders and willing to go the extra mile.
Very friendly and working to keep things safe during C19. Happy with the work they did and will probably be going back when I need to
Great staff. Not pushy but super friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely come back!My girlfriend is picky with sales people but she loved it there, got a bike recommended, test rode it, bought it the same day and rode it home - and is very happy with it!
I commute from the Bothell area to Greenwood and these guys have helped me out of quite a few jams. Always willing to talk, help out, find the right solution, and their shop rates are reasonable. Im fairly new to the cycling game and they have never once seemed annoyed when I bombard them with questions.5-star staff5-star mechanicsIf you need it, they probably have itYou get more than you pay for here, for sure.
Quintessential Local Bike Shop (LBS) Same people have worked here for ages. They are all friendly and helpful. They sell good equipment at reasonable prices. They will fix your stuff when youve screwed it up working on it in your shed.If youre about to order something online - give these guys a call first to see if they have something for you in-stock.
I have patroned JRA multiple times over the years and found Brandon and the entire staff to be very knowledgeable and passionate about bikes and the cycling culture. Safety is so important and having a bike that is in perfect repair is essential to a life long cycling experience.
Want a great Seattle Bike Store? If you come here, you will leave satisfied. I went in to buy a wheel that got stolen off my old bike. Was surprised at the price of the wheel and install actually, but I hadnt done any research. However, they did more than replace the wheel, they tuned it up pretty well with the wheel and the bike has never ridden better. Very Very happy.
Friendly great service! My favorite!
Had the parts I needed, and very helpful.
Great local bike shop in the Greenwood area. Staff are both knowledgeable and helpful, while always taking the time to explain the WHY to less experienced riders like myself.
Great people and prices. We came with a broken brake cable and a missing nut for the front tire. The gentleman fixed the cable and replaced the nut within 5 minutes dmv charged us $4. It was totally worth the drive from shoreline
About a year ago, my bike got stolen. Just last week, a customer brings their bike in to add some accessories to it, but while talking with that customer picked up on some red flags (such as that they got this bike for only ~$50 from someone random). They decided to look it up on the bike index, and found that it was my bike! They got it returned back to me, and were very friendly and helpful throughout the entire process.
Open during the covid pandemic, JRA were vigilant with regard to safety and social distancing. They responded quickly and efficiently to all requests and allowed for non-contact drop off and pickup. Thank you JRA!
Super kind. Always helpful and kind. Not pushy just for sales.
Discovered this shop in 2017 and have yet to be disappointed. Have had three bikes serviced here - tune ups to frame rebuilds - and the work was affordable and well done. Everyone who works here is friendly and unpretentious. I highly recommend this place.
I bought a used tier form them 2 times and both times they popped but great service and Low prices
I dont usually write reviews for businesses, but JRA is one of the most personable bike shops Ive ever been to. Great prices and great bikes and accessories. Walked in on a slower Monday afternoon and I was the only customer. The person working (owner, perhaps) spent nearly 45 minutes chatting with me about bikes, bike trails, and different helmets. Will definitely be buying my next bike from this crew.
Great place. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. I get my e-bike commuter serviced here. Way better than dealing with the Rad Bike service department!
JRA is an amazing bike shop. I found the staff and the service to be very helpful and kind. Not only did I have a good time, I learned a lot about my bike. Overall a very nice bike shop with good prices.
I had to get both wheels replaced on my Surly long haul trucker and the folks at JRA had my bike in and out in 24 hours along with a few other minor fixes and at a super reasonable price. They’re always direct, knowledgeable, and explain exactly what they recommend and why. This is now my go-to bike shop in Seattle!
The friendliest bike shop in the city, especially if you are a commuter. Good selection of bicycles and gear, fantastic repair shop, and passionate employees.
They are wonderful, helpful, kind and fair always!
Great service! Broke a gear cable. Went in thinking I would have to drop off and come back in several days. The mechanic came over, took my bike, put it on the stand and started working on it on the spot. He also put on a new set of brake pads and I was out in less than 20 minutes and reasonable $40 charge. I was on the road the next day! Great customers service.
There are two kinds of shops out there, the kinds that try to talk you into expensive repairs and upgrades. And the kinds who tell you the truth. JRA is the later, twice Ive taken bikes into their shop, and twice Ive walked away with and expertly repaired bike at more than reasonable prices. The person who trued my back wheel is an artist, and I will be trusting my cycles to JRA.
Took my bike in for a tune-up. They did a great job and got it done when they said they would. Drive train and brakes work better now than when the bike was new.
This place is rad! Every time Ive walked with a small thing theyve helped me out immediately. None of the machismo of other shops, and the mechanics know what theyre doing and explained what was going on.
Came in without an appointment on the first summery weekend of the year and got great help. Be sure to make an appointment because, like every other bike shop in town, theyre booked out when the weather is nice. But very friendly, helpful people.
Cant recommend this shop enough! Im a recent transplant and my older bike sustained some damage in the move. Everyone in the shop from Corbett upfront to the team in the back, got me and my bike back on the road in like-new condition. Well be back for all repairs, big and small.
I give it a solid 5! They are always helpful, knowledgeable, reasonably priced, friendly and timely.
Took my bike in to replace shift cables and was very, very satisfied with the timeliness, friendly and professional service, update calls and especially the reaonable cost.
We had such a great experience with JRA Bike Shop! We went to them based on the great reviews posted here. They are friendly, honest, and fast. We will definitely be coming back!
Just the best people. I wish I could take my car to these mechanics because I trust them more!
I have been going t recycled cycles forever and love them. So when I moved north I was reluctant to work with a new shop. These guys are fantastic, knowledgeable and do not try to upswell you on expensive solutions.
Super fast, friendly and informative with completely reasonable prices.
Great customer service! We bought my wife’s cross bike here and we would definitely recommend JRA over other places that have employees that are either not as knowledgeable or not as helpful.
Every time Ive brought my bike to this store, Ive always been surprised by how affordable the work is. Excellent customer service and top notch repairs and alterations.
WE HAVE MOVED! Friends and loyal customers: JRA Bikeshop has moved to our new larger location at 1120 NW 85TH, which is north one block and west 4~ blocks from our old location! Come and see us! We still do everything we did before, but now with more room, more products and more chandeliers!
Bought a Jamis Comp today with additional accessories. Steve was very helpful assisting me to find the right bike for my body size and commuting needs. I look forward to breaking it in and returning for adjustments.
This is the best bike shop ever, especially for repairs. Luke and Justin are craftsmen. JRA treats its customers great, their prices are fair, and quite a bit better than other shops in the area.
Awesome customer service. These guys are the best.
Really friendly and informative service!
Very friendly fast service. Knowledgeable repair tech who seeks to get the customer what they want, not just unimportant add-ons
Great staff and excellent product choices for a smaller neighborhood bike shop with less retail space making it clear that they know quality and value and have real enthusiasts owning and running it. I would rate it the best in Seattle having shopped Greggs, Performance, Montlake, and many others in my 30 years of riding bikes.
Super helpful and friendly folks at this bike shop. As a new bike rider I felt very welcome.
Really great bike shop super helpful!
What a great shop. Luke took care servicing a 30 year old bottom bracket on my Bianchi Trofeo. He thinks it was the first service ever. The shop took care to clean, inspect, and keep my rode in original Italian form. I am ready for another season of hard riding. JRA, they care about your ride.
Very competent repair people, very good at customer service.
I recently overhauled my bike, and this shop was essential to my success. I bought a couple of components here, but the incident that stands out is when I had trouble adjusting my rear derailleur. I gave up doing it myself and brought it in expecting to pay for them to do it, but they took a look at it, lubed my shifter, and sold me the precise amount of cable housing needed to replace a problematic piece. Total cost: $2.16.
A great, great bike shop. Friendly, knowledgeable, affordable. I dont go anywhere else.
All good about this place. Im going there for all my bike repairs now.
Pretty disappointed by my experience. Went here because I heard so many great things from other people, and the reviews were great. I dont know much about bikes at all, and bought a cheap used road bike just to try things out. The website and reviews made me feel totally comfortable about coming in clueless, and I was ready to learn, but when I got there, I just felt like an idiot and immediately regretted going in. The guy helping me was just very quite, and did not offer up much info very easily. Mind you, I dont even know what questions to ask to get more info. I can only say im new at this and dont know what im doing so many times. I chalked it up to being the end of the day and it was super busy. But I felt the same awkwardness picking up my bike. I kinda expected a run down of what all was worked on/ fixed, but nothing. Very quite transaction. I guess everthing on the bike is fine. Seems to be riding ok. I have no idea though. Repair costs were less than expected though which is a plus.
They are just great-honest, straightforward, unpretentious, and they always take the time to educate us no matter what our question.
Great service, super friendly staff, would highly recommend taking the trip to check out the bikes here!
Decent selection of quality bikes and accessories. Leans toward supplying commuter and family biking needs.
Every time I go in they are welcoming and extremely helpful. Thank you.
What else is there to say, they are good at what they do and it actually seems like they are there to help you and get you on the road. Always a good feeling when you can trust your bike mechanic and know they are on your side.
This is a great local bike shop.Eric and co. know their stuff cold. Theyve done a great job of repairing my bikes and my kids bikes when theyve needed it. Theyve built wheels for me; theyve replaced obscure bits of elderly Campagnolo groupsets. Theyve often done far more than Id reasonably expect in order to get me mobile again. The prices for repairs are very good too.Aside from the repairs, JRA carries a good range of new and used bikes and accessories. The new cycles are mainly Redlines and Norcos (not a brand I know, but they seem to offer good value) plus a choice of big ol cargo bikes.JRA is a great bike shop, thats worth going an extra mile for. The fact that they are located conveniently right in my neighbourhood is just a bonus.
These guys went above and beyond for a great price -- definitely have become my go to shop! Thank you!
Great place for bike parts, comparable to nearby sellers.
The folks at JRA are so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I always go there first for my needs.
Excellent customer service and a friendly atmosphere
Super friendly, helpful folks here.
JRA is MY bike shop. They arent out to just sell me something--they really take the time to get to know my bike/riding style and get me back on the road when I need service. I tell my friends to go to JRA when they have bike needs. -- Christian
Friendly, knowledgeable, Seattle shop
I heard by accident that I was going to check the bike wheels that I was riding, but everyone is kind, friendly, fun, and even repairs me. In particular, Steve among the employees is very fun to talk. I had a very pleasant time there and came out with a better bike. JRA store T-shirts I got a good one for the leftovers. I think its Seattles strongest bike repair team with a talented, honest, hard-working, laid-back, and humor-free experience. The accessories were also sold inexpensively, so I came up with a few things that I usually missed. It is a store where you can trust and trust your favorite bike !!!
