Went in, forget it, they dont want to do service for sure, 6 month wait, said Covid turned his shop upside down, the shop windows claim service is an available option, but no way. The shop seemed way overburdened and poorly managed. I would not waste your time, my guess at one time it was great, but now: go somewhere else and save time and effort.

My past bike shop experiences have generally been pretty good, but I just had the best one by far. Davey, the owner is a fountain of information, and went out of his way to make sure I understood the downsides to the bikes and components I was looking at - not just the upsides. He had even pre-read through my email correspondence and had my concerns in mind when I arrived. It seems to me that he is more interested in happy customers and long-term relationships than a quick sale. That is my kind of place. They also have several hard-to-find bikes in stock, and he was happy to let me try a few of them (and even made a great recommendation for one I had not considered). Thanks Davey!I also enjoyed the email back-and-forth with Robert as I was making an inquiry and setting up an appointment.

We paid almost $12.000 for our two Riese & Muller ebikes in this shop two years ago, and after that and having the worst service(what a nightmare!) and customer service experience, I wont recommend to anyone, buy any ebikes from this shop..Also they charge twice the price for any service! The worst customer experience in my life.If anyone is thinking of buying a ebike, just go to any of the ebikes shop downtown Seattle.

This is the best bike shop in the region. Its focused on enhancing the riding experience for families and commuters alike and their staff is very nice. My son loves trying out the balance bikes and my daughter enjoys playing in the kids corner while we visit. As far as service... Tune ups somehow seem to transform my bike to new. Ive purchased a few bikes from them and these bikes are built to last (my family has put about 11k miles on these bikes this year!).They definitely have a pulse on the industry and as well as know a lot about the greater Seattle area bike laws and bike community events too.

I stopped by to ask a questions about some work I wanted to do on my bike and was told service was 3 months out and they could not install a new controller on my Rad Mission because they do not know about this bike and are not skilled in working on them...I changed the controller and set up the LCD and it was very easy to do and the only problem is setting up the LCD. I was looking for help from G &O and the response was we are to busy, which translate to me is your job is not worth our time. On your web site it says READY FOR ANYTHING WE WELCOME ALL VISITORS AND ALL BIKES.....from the conversation we had today that is not true. It seems in contacting e bike shops in the area there is an almost arrogant rudeness that is hard to describe, if you are not on some high end bike 4k plus you are wasting our time.....I will not waste there time and will not spend my money there . Best thing to do is to learn to work on your own rig and save your money....

Called in to see if they could check out a bike I just bought. They were honest that they dont typically work on the type of bike that I have and reccomended a couple other bike shops where the work would be cheaper. Although I didnt actually do any business with them, theyre clearly honest guys.

Rented a family cargo bike from these guys and had the best time riding around town. The bike was incredible...enough room to haul 3 kids plus extra storage on the back. The electric assist made riding 30-40 miles/day a breeze and the batteries were still ~70% charged at the end of the day. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Ok for sales, not for service. They just dont provide the level of service one should expect from a shop that sells such high end bikes. Now during COVID it is worse. They say they are working only by appointment, which is fair, but you cant even schedule an appointment. I tried and they said someone would call me to try to fit me in. No one ever called.UPDATE: It gets worse. Back in August they finally offered me an appointment - at the end of October. I show up for the appointment, and they still want me to leave the bike for 1-3 weeks for a tuneup. I think they miss the point entirely of making an appointment.

I spent months looking for the just-right bike, visiting shops that were incredibly condescending before I stumbled upon g and o. I never felt judged here for being a new bike rider. Robert, Davey, Jenna, Erika and Donald were all super helpful. I brought my 2yo in (pre covid) and he happily played while employees explained things to me. When I picked up my bike Jenna spent nearly an HOUR AND A HALF giving me the run down and installing my arm workout of a child seat because she’s so boss. I will say that if you are expecting to hear something via email and you don’t, just give them a call - this worked well in my case. I will also say that even though this is a business, they are also human and deserve a bit of grace and patience just like anyone else during this crazy time we are going through.

Seriously, do you really need to know how or why these guys are so amazing??? Ever been to a bike shop before? Ever been treated like you dont belong? Ever been blown off because you dont speak bike jargon? Thats the experience youll have at most bike shops -- an attitude that suggests youre an inconvenience or a waste of time. Very unwelcoming!!! This will never happen at G&O! You might wait a while but thats only because these guys are so sweet and thoughtful that they want to give you their full attention. Theres no pretense here! You matter the most in the moment. These guys know their $h!t but theyll never rub it in or make you feel like an idiot. I cant recommend a bike shop more highly than G&O. I qualify for free bike tune ups through my employer and yet I prefer to spend my hard earned money for the kindness, experience, and attention to detail Ive always received at G&O. And dont even get me started about social justice. THESE GUYS ARE THE BEST AND THE COOLEST!!!

We bought our family bicycle through G&O a little over a year ago and it’s been pretty awesome! Their team let us demo a bunch of bikes and helped talk us through the details to figure out what we wanted. We recently upgraded our kickstand and the worksmanship was impeccable. Highly recommend.

Ive owned an electric bicycle shop across the country for years, and while I consider myself a specialist in the field, I wont take on cargo bike line without consulting with Davey first. He probably has the most comprehensive experience and expertise of cargo bikes in the country. He has a fine-tuned understanding of how each bike meets the needs of the rider and his or her precious cargo. Theres a ton of little details that may or may not occur to you after some extended time with your cargo bike. Hes very aware of how these details will apply to you and your experience. Hes a pretty hilarious guy to boot. I just hopes he keeps his business on that side of the country.

Had a wonderful experience test driving and learning about cargo e-bike options today. This shop is probably the most knowledgeable place about biking with kids in the nation. Its by far the most kid friendly bike shop in Seattle with a well stocked play area. Davey and Tyler will get you set up to ride with kids of any age and stage. Beyond that they have great mechanics on staff and will get your ride in great shape.

Fantastic. This shop specializes in family/cargo biking, so if youre considering putting a kid (or two, or three, or four!) on your bike and/or carrying lots of stuff, definitely go here. Super friendly, knowledgeable staff and the owner (Davey Oil) is active in the community (e.g. the Seattle Family Biking Facebook group). You can even rent the bikes from Sun - Weds for a reasonable fee that gets applied to your bike purchase to get a feel for what they would be like in your life, on your commute, etc which is SUPER helpful for understanding how AWESOME your life will be less dependent on a car/transit! The shop itself is very kid friendly with toys and bathrooms that accommodate kids of all ages.

A gem of a place. 5 stars for knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate staff and owners. I was visiting Seattle from another state and when I called to see if they would be open on July 4 (the only day I could go to the shop) they encouraged me to come while they did inventory. They took time to give me info and test ride bikes. They also actually discouraged me from buying from them because they said it would be in my own interest to work with a local shop so I could get tune-ups etc.! They were only helping for the sake of helping. Didnt know that existed anymore. . . Ive called several times with follow up quesitque and each person is just as nice and knowledgeable as the last. Incredible!!

We visited in early June to purchase a baby seat, and were told they wouldnt sell us a seat but we could bring our bike in and they would install one same day... But they were very busy so wed need to get on the schedule. We scheduled a date with them for their soonest available time in early July to install the baby seat and tune the bike. When we brought the bike in on our month-in-advance scheduled day, they did not have the bike seat we asked for and did not time the bike that day either. Apparently getting on the schedule did nothing and they were not prepared to help us, even after we had waited a month. They promised to have the seat ordered and ready in a week. We patiently waited until the next Friday, and had no word from them. We called and they admitted they still didnt get the seat and the bike wasnt ready. We asked when it would be ready and got a runaround answer. They knew earlier in the week they had messed up again and werent even going to call us. Meanwhile summer is ticking away... They wasted a month and a half of our time when we could have been riding as a family. We finally had to go pick up the bike and order the seat ourselves... arrived the next day. We installed it in literally ten minutes. Its not complicated, but these guys cant figure out basic customer service (call about delays), cant order the correct parts you need, and cant get things done in a timely fashion even if you schedule way in advance. Dont bother with this shop unless you have endless time and patience and dont need your bike for months.

I visited this shop with some brake issues and was hoping to make an appointment to get it fixed.  The nearest available appointment date was 2 weeks out, but I was told to visit a different bike shop nearby to get service sooner. I went to the other shop and was laughed at and told that G&O Family Cyclery was using me to play a prank on them and I was a pawn in their joke because they also couldnt fix my bike for 2 weeks. I am very disappointed and upset with how I was treated by G&O cyclery. They wasted my time, but more importantly, they embodied the stereotype of male chauvinism in the cycling industry. This made me, a young woman, feel completely unwelcome and not taken seriously as a cyclist in their shop. I do not recommend this shop to other women or anyone that does not fit the 50 year old white man in lycra stereotype because you will not be taken seriously or treated with respect.

G&O Family Cyclery literally helped me change my lifestyle. They helped me get set up to bike with my daughter so that i have largely been able to avoid driving. Ive become healthier and happier.G&O hasnt just helped with my bike though. They are also very supportive in non material ways - advice, encouragement, and a very active presence in the local family biking community. The staff are all very friendly and knowledgeable and theyve been able to handle everything that Ive needed help with, from picking a child seat to more complicated things like adding an electric motor.Their selection of bikes and accessories is great. Theyve got a number on the floor to rest ride and have rented out bikes in the past (not sure if they are currently with their temporary space though). Be aware, though, that some of the accessories they sell are made to order and can require some lead time (such as the bags I ordered for my Yuba Mundo). The only thing Id say to be a little understanding of is that they get a lot of customers and occasionally there can be a bit of a wait - the stuff they do can take a lot of talking with their customers to narrow down their needs.
