This place was absolutely gorgeous. It was really beautifully decorated and very clean. I wasnt sure what to order, but the guy was friendly and gave me some recommendations. I ended up ordering the Ottoman coffee. It was really smooth and definitely was a different flavor from other coffees that I have tried. I also ordered a baklava with it. Everything was fantastic. They even gave us some type of candy, complimentary, once I got my order. Overall, would recommend trying out this place.
Gorgeous and beautifully decorated shop with better coffee, tea, and deserts than anything found in LA, was not expecting that in SB. The best tea and coffee Ive had in a while, and they were very generous with the samples. Thank you David from Munich and the whole staff for making us feel like we were guests in someones home. We will return every time in Santa Barbara for sure!Bonus: Stunning Turkish lamps and tables throughout! A+++
Though I have not been to Turkey to be able to have a basis of comparison, I must say that these confections are addictive and well made. I had a pre-conceived notion that they will be cloyingly sweet, but they are not. Albeit, really enjoyed the 6 varieties I ordered. My order was delivered on time and the quality of the product is very fresh and delectable. I hope they will offer baklava on line again which I know will not disappoint. Well done!
I have never tried or tasted the candies from Turkey before but walking by this store something told me to stop in for a look. I wasn’t disappointed, because what they have in store was very tempting and looked so good. Store located in Main Street, and very close to the beach area. It was also well known for the locals and popular with tourists. The store was cleaned, well organized, with beautiful products displayed. You could see the very colorful presentations of their deserts. The store is also selling their country tasteful, and deep flavor Tea. We bought some of their delicious candies home and sampled others before we buy. The services here were very friendly and helpful. The prices were a little pricey for regular folks, but it was nice to try out the foods from different places around the world.
So good! Imported from Turkey. Very patient, helpful service. Bought a box for a gift. Selected which types to include based on tasting free samples.. Wished I bought some for myself!!
I had just picked up a few things fromLilac Patisserie next door, and was on my way back to my car, when I was drawn in to Lokum. What a delightful establishment! Coffee is served in the back, with sweets in front. I got several flavours of turkish delight, along w some other filo sweets to try. I will be coming back!
Ive always had my morning coffee in this coffee shop near the mall. It was fairly open and close to my workplace. I prefer their coffee over that of the other coffee shops in town. They also sell tasty cookies, biscuits, and doughnuts. I like to have their muffins with my coffee. It was a perfect combination, just like salt and pepper. I suggest this coffee shop to everyone who like coffee.
Such an amazing place! The Turkish Delights and all the other treats are delicious. The quality of service is top notch. Great for families as well
I came for just couple days now I am not in California. I put the picture of lokum that we bought. It doesn’t seem 2.5 pound. And, Yes we took some pieces of lokum for tasting but it was different type of lokum. Off course it would be different prices but the taste for me it is different. I know some places have more quality of lokum and half price. I will not share since it’s not ethical. I just wanted to share my opinion of this place.
Great place! The store itself is beautiful and clean with a sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere. The baklava and Turkish Delights are equal parts delicious treats and edible art. The coffee is smooth and served on a tray that makes it an experience (make sure you drink it there…don’t order to go!). Best of all, the staff is very friendly and full of excellent recommendations (which is how I learned that you should enjoy the coffee there haha). I came twice in one week, and the owner (I think?) recognized me (even with a mask) and chatted with me. They definitely made me feel like a valued customer. You can tell that they love their store and serving customers. Can’t say enough good things!
This is one of our citys most famous coffee shops. Its a pleasure to be here. And they had a delicious cup of coffee!
I came in and saw the food and the employee instantly came and gave me a sample and helped me out!The food is delicious and candy! The coffee is amazing and they have stuff that are incredible! The space is good,But it a bit overpriced!I paid $50 for a couple of sweets and coffee! But overall it good
The absolute best baklava (traditional walnut flavor) I have had in the US in many many years. The only thing better was a spot in Athens Greece a few years back.
I had posted a bad review about the sampler Turkish delight that I bought two days ago. What I received seemed very old and dry and deserving the one star rating, but the business owner responded and tried to fix the bad experience offering a refund. I believe that alone is worth more stars so here is an updated review
Excellent place for Turkish delights!! Highly recommended!!
It’s an amazing place to go and spend time with friends and family. I had an amazing time there. It’s a really friendly and clean place, the service is really fast. My favorites are traditional baklava and Ottoman coffee. Can’t wait to go there again!!!
One of the worst customer service place you can imagine. Most items are over priced. Surprisingly it was not this bad when it first opened, something happened when the owner of the place just does not care about customer service at all. The associates that work there appears to be absolutely bitter. Last week I took some guests of mine from out of town, we were embarrassed by the customer service (or lack of) received. I am not going back ever!!
The second I walked in - I was stunned at how special and beautiful this space is! Otherworldly!!! And THEN - the most gorgeous treats everywhere you look. AND THEN - they were FREAKING DELICIOUS 🤤🤤🤤 evey single thing we tried - the Turkish delight, the baklava and the halva …. Unreal! Needless to say, walked out with three bags of goodies to take home to the family to enjoy 😊
I always visit this place when I visit Santa Barbara. The only complaint that I have is the they always seem to run out of the Turkish tea. Other than that, I highly recommend this place for their coffee and confectionery selections.
Absolutely delicious. Their Turkish delights are the best Ive ever had (and Ive had a lot). I cant wait to try the rest of the menu.
The service and product are excellent. Yamaa was very nice and professional. Thank you, Yamaa! We ll be back.
Absolutely the best baklava I have ever had! Couldnt recommend it enough. The other confections in the store are also delicious!
If you love Turkish delights, this is a must. And if you dont know, stop by for a tasting sample and wont leave without a no minimum box. Pistachios all around. Rose petal Elderberry Pistachio rolls ♥
Got a few Turkish sweets from here. It’s absolutely amazing. Wish I had discovered it earlier to try some coffee as well.
New experience! Turkish delight and coffee!
This boutique cafe is an exquisite one with its unique interior design and dessert selections. If you are a person of refined taste and want to enjoy your time and satisfy your sweet tooth then this is the place to go. Staff is very polite, respectful and helpful. The mussel shaped baklava and kunafeh is really out of this world along with the tea!
Great variety of treats and they let you test them :) Also the service was very friendly!
Do not pass up this lovely treat on State Street. A cup of Turkish Coffee and a piece of lokum is just the thing for an afternoon pick me up. This was my first try of Turkish delight and I cannot get it out of my mind. Absolutely delicious. The shop is a delight to be in And the staff are friendly and helpful. I will definitely return on my next visit to Santa Barbara.
The coffee tasted like red engine coolant. I was astonished that coffee could taste so bad. I cannot recommend this place for coffee. Starbucks watered coffee taste better this place.
I chose a small selection of the baklava pastries, and my wife and I were knocked off our feet. (but Id skip the chocolate version). What a great addition to the cornucopia of cuisines available in Santa Barbara.
Turkish coffee is hard to find. Drink the dregs for bonus points.
Try the pistachio Turkish coffee. Best Turkish pastries I have ever tasted.
What a beautiful place, and what a contrast to, well, some others: elegant (a young couple walking by stopped and said how pretty), everything squeaky clean, serving small portions (thank God/Allah) of delicious sweets and coffee, kind and generous staff (but not overpowering), staying open until 8/9pm. Ill be back! (as even an Austrian might be tempted to say).
Great customer service. Probably one of the most beautiful storefronts Ive ever seen.
Best Turkish coffee...North to LAA joy
Great service, friendly staff, clean facilities, excellent lokum, baklava and Turkish coffee
The Turkish delight was stale and not a delight. Into the garbage it went. 👎🏼I was not given a receipt.
This place is amazingAnd the owner of LOKUMMarket was super friendly and super welcomingAnd he offer us Turkish coffee for free that’sAmazing
Fun and unique candy! Turkish delight variety is amazing.
We went in to look, got offered a sample, and ended up buying $20 of delight. It was delightful.
Unorganized and extremely bad customer service. For how beautiful the space is set up it’s a shame the employees are so inattentive and rude.
I was unfamiliar with Turkish coffee, this was my first experience. The taste was not like other coffee Ive had but still very pleasant, until I got to the last sip - I did not know the grounds were at the bottom of my cup 😅. If this is your first time watch out for that last bit, a mouthful of grit is not pleasant, especially if you dont have a bottle of water nearby. To the owner - I wouldve liked the barista to ask if it was my first time having Turkish coffee and offer a few tips & maybe explain a few key details before I began my journey.
Made a lovely gift box of various sweets, and it went over awesome with the people I gifted it to. Everyone kept commenting on how beautiful and delicious each one was!
Turkish Delight is to die for.
Recently opened. They are pretty pricey but well worth it. Best baklava Ive had yet! Nicely sweet with only a hint of crunch from the filo. They also make homemade Turkish delight. I love the marshmallow based ones. Great addition to state street and I hope they stay for a long time
Delicious baklav a and Turkish delight but not inexpensive
This coffee shop is great because it has everything I need and the staff is extremely polite and helpful.
Wow!!! Very amazing place! Staff are NICE especially the guy who makes coffee!
Great place! So delicious lokum and great customer service! Highly recommended!!!
Good Turkish coffee and candy... First time here so didnt know what I was ordering but was open to trying. Staff not as friendly as I thought they would be. Cute place to sit and enjoy good Turkish coffee.... definitely do your research about this type of coffee since staff are not too helpful.
This place is heaven!
My daughter and I were out for dinner in downtown Santa Barbara and stopped in to this lovely establshment. I love Loukoumi so this is now my go to place for gifts and treats. We sampled their fancy Loukoumi and brought home a small box. The flavors are delicate and perfect. I have been having a small piece with my coffee for the past few days. Today, I logged on to the website to order some baklava for my niece who anxiously awaits receipt....She cant wait to visit.
I had some desserts like Turkish Delight and Traditional baklavas and these are just the best of its kind I have had.
A beautiful location, delicious treats and exceptional staff!
This place is exquisite. It is aesthetically pleasing. The service is excellent. I had the creamy, pistachio baklava. It too was great.
Nice shop, clean big variety! $2/piece 1 square of Turkish Delight. Not the best taste I have had.
Great service and fabulous one of a kind sweets that is very difficult to find.
It’s awesomely delicious baklava!
Very tasty Turkish delights. Great selection and nice packaging.
