One of the best places to get ice cream in San Francisco. They have amazing ice creams along with vegan options.Vegan options are must try.Total recommend these vegan options Mixed Berry coconut and chocolate coconut.Best seller is Salted caramel ice creamThe creamery also has soft serve, ice cream cakes and pint sized tub.Parking is limited around the creamery and it is right opposite the park. So grab an ice cream and enjoy in the park
Just tried their sundae for the first time and feel that it’s one of the most delicious ice creams I’ve ever had 💘 My choice was Honey Lavender, Basil and Coffee Toffee scoops accompanied by caramelized banana, spiced pecans and sea salt as toppings. Amazing mix of flavors! Really liked the richness of lavender flavor (which is rare in all sweets with this amazing herb), basil was good companion to balance a really sweet and intensively delicious coffee toffee! Im so excited to find this old local icecream spot and enjoy those unusual tastes and creamy texture sitting on a grass in Dolores park! Bi-rite is definitely one of my personal highlights of this summer🤍
We went there for soft-serve ice cream and although it was two hours before closing, they had almost run out of there soft serve vanilla ice cream. We were able to get the very last two servings. The ice cream was excellent, soft, and very creamy. They mentioned that they did not accept cash (refusing to accept cash is illegal) if the change exceeded $20. I would definitely return for ice cream, but would recommend calling to ensure that they have the ice cream you want.
10/10 would recommend. I had toasted banana (one of my favorite flavors) and a scoop of a honey flavored ice cream. Wife had peanut butter and cookies+cream. We thoroughly enjoyed the flavors and thought it was some of the best ice cream we have ever had.
I think it was the best ice cream and hot fudge I have ever tried. Absolutely amazing service and lovely staff. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely be back!
This ice cream is fantastic! I have a huge sweet tooth and know my way around sweets and I was super impressed with the flavors I got. Their honey lavender ice cream was light, slightly floral, and refreshing and I would 100% order it again. The stand out star for me was the ricanelas flavor with snicker doodle cookie chunks. Can’t wait to go back some day!
Staff’s really friendly! They let you try flavours and don’t rush you. There’s the usual chocolate and vanilla type of flavours but also really unique ones like black sesame and honey lavender. It melts pretty quickly though so be sure to eat fast. And take the waffle cone - it’s delicious! Scoops are huge too :)
Great service and amazing ice cream with a few unique flavors. the honey lavender was earthy and delightful. 😁
Bi-rites cup is not lying: their ice cream truly brings happiness. Every single scoop Ive gotten here has been extremely well-made and delicious, and shows the creamerys attention to details and care for their ice cream. That banana ice cream is the Platonic ideal of what banana-flavored things should taste like.
Thank you for the consistency and quality. Your employees are also some of the sweetest people. This is the only place I like to get ice cream.
Probably some of the best ice cream in San Francisco. Local and DELICIOUS, with some great flavors. Black Sesame, Balsamic Strawberry and Vegan Banana Pudding are a MUST.
Bi-Rite Creamery is one of the best ice cream shops in San Francisco and possibly in the USA! I’m a serious ice cream connoisseur and I’ve eaten at great ice cream shops but whenever I return to San Francisco, I’m willing to wait on the long lines that snake out and onto the sidewalk to re-experience the exceptional ice cream that Bi-Rite Creamery creates. Tonight we had a scoop of Coffee Toffee and Salted Caramel. Both were exceptional and worth the long wait! So many outstanding flavors, it’s hard to choose which to try, but worth planning a return trip!
Just had the Buffalo milk soft serve swirl of vanilla and salted caramel and what a fantastic choice. Absolutely delicious!
All I got was a simple vanilla cone and sprinkles...I was amazed how the sprinkles tasted like birthday cake. And though it was vanilla it was the best vanilla icecream I have tasted in life. Life changing 🍦
The lavender honey is creamy and milky and not overly sweet. Friendly and welcoming staff. Always a great experience
It is really good ice cream. I will go back for the banana split
I tried honey lavender and salted caramel. Both of them were really good! Will come again to try out different flavors
Do not go here it is not worth ruining your entire trip because you want some Ice Cream. This place is located in a dangerous neighborhood. We parked our car in front the busy street of this establishment and because there was a line we were gone for like 15 minutes and by the time we came back our rental car was broken into and everything was stolen. I would rather get Ice Cream from a safer location where it is safe to park as they have no safe parking for their customers. The actual Ice Cream itself was okay but not worth the danger of the location.
Their ice cream flavors are so rich and yummy. My favorite is their earl grey flavor, but I recently found out that its a seasonal flavor :( Unfortunately, when I went last weekend, it was not in season yet. Regardless, I tried some other flavors and was still happy about it. If youre not sure what flavor to get, ask the workers to give you samples - theyre super nice about it. Also be prepared to wait in a line that goes way out the door and to struggle to find parking cause thats SF for ya.1. Coffee toffee: I always love getting coffee ice cream, so this flavor was must for me. This flavor also has toffee crunch pieces too...which was a nice mix with the coffee flavor. There were just enough crunch pieces without it being too overly sweet or overpowering the ice cream.2. Honey lavender: The perfect flavor to get if youre feeling something creamy and light. I was worried the lavender flavor was going to be too strong, but it was perfect! My go-to flavor is earl grey though, which I think is a must try! Im not a fan of earl grey tea or drinks, but I can do earl grey ice cream :) its also walkable distance to Dolores Park!
I ordered salted caramel and the black sesame and they were both not my favorite... I would not recommend these flavors. My boyfriend had the cookies and cream and that was great!
The Black sesame flavor is really nice if you want something that’s not too sweet.
Some of the best ice cream I’ve had in a long time, don’t miss it! The salted caramel is the perfect blend of sweet and salt.
The best ice cream in San Fran hands down especially if you like black sesame.
Delicious ice cream, we had the honey lavender and the peanut butter swirl. Recommend for sure
AMAZING ICE CREAM!! The salted caramel one is my favorite.
I had high hopes coming to Bi-Rite after hearing all the positive reviews from locals. “Best ice cream in SF” was mentioned. I went in hoping for a good ice cream experience and we got just that, a good one, not the best I’ve ever had. They had several unique flavors, none of which really spoke to me, unfortunately. I went with my favorite, mint chip, and one of their unique flavors, cherries jubilee. Both were creamy and delicious and had great flavor. My girlfriend said she has been before with flavors that she thought was better so they must rotate. I would definitely go back to Bi-Rite but Jeni’s is still my favorite I’ve ever had.
Holy moly! It was a treat to be the first customer in the morning and meeting all the kind, smiling faces! I appreciated the guidance and recommendations. Having worked in an ice cream shop myself, I can definitely tell the hard work that they put into making a fantastic customer experience. And the flavors were to die for. Loved the blueberry (sort of reminds me of Jeni’s Brambleberry!), coffee with the toffee was nice and crunchy, the oat milk vegan option was fantastic and it’s own right, and the peach one also made me feel like I was biting into summer!Def lives up to the hype!!
Love the banana bread ice cream sandwich! Best flavor so far!
I had creme brulee, coffee, and salted caramel. Ice cream was great but customer service could be a lot better. Gentleman in camo hat today was borderline rude to customers. No need to yell at people if you need their group to wait outside. Also made negative remarks when one customer asked how much was each scoop. Hope you guys use this feedback to improve service!
Amazing gourmet flavors.I couldnt decide....so HAD to take a pint of Salted Carmel home....HAD TO!Enjoy!
If you’re a fan of cinnamon toast crunch, get the Ricanelas—best ice cream I’ve had in my life.
Very cool niche spot. Been going for years.
Loved the flavors. My favorite was chocolate coconut and coffee.
I was promised this place is the best Ice cream place on the planet... It came pretty close. No, you cant compare this to the fresh gelato you her in an Italian town, butvl this place is definitely a standout for Bay area! The most intense Caramel flavor I have ever tasted in life. I mixed it with the Vanilla, and had an amazing scoop of deliciousness. Long lines await you, but the wait isnt too much - at worst, 15 min. Parking is definitely a challenge! But once you grab some ice cream, you got to head to Mission Dolores park and chill - the vibe is electric!
Their ice creams are packed with flavor and not just sweetness. Their caramel ice cream was particulary robust and delicious!
Hey, its ice cream! They make their ice cream in house and it shows. If there is a line, it is worth the wait (relax, it goes pretty fast). Youll find all the favorite flavors, but with a unique twist. Maybe even something new you didnt know could even be a flavor, and lots of seasonal flavors. They let you try the flavors so you can make the perfect choice. If its not perfect... get back in line and give it another whirl. They also offer hand-packed ice cream in various sizes for sale. Very eco minded and community based.
Finally got a chance to visit one of the most famous ice cream shops in SF. We went on a weekday and I was the only customer at the time. Ordered a ‘make your own sundae’ with two scoops and two toppings. I selected the pumpkin cheesecake and I really don’t remember the other one, and hot fudge and caramel iced banana as topping. Also bought a pack of cake cone and the salted caramel pint cup.The flavor of pumpkin cheesecake was heavenly and took up most of the flavor of the sundae. Loved the toppings with the ice cream scoop, along with whipping cream. I expected the scoop to be a bit more though.I ate the salted caramel ice cream with the cake cone. The cake cone is small size and a good choice for people who like small serving size. Salted caramel is yummy and has a coffee taste. The one thing I noticed is the texture, which is really good!
Amazing place for ice cream lovers! I like their menu and a big variety of options. They have delicious housemade toppings and incredible salted caramel sauces! I have tried Roasted Banana, Black Sesame, Ritual Coffee Toffee, Cookies and Cream and all of them are so tasty! Im still looking for my favorite ice cream and I will find it when I try all positions in a menu! I think its one of the most famous ice cream shops and it worth trying!
Excellent Place for Kids to have icecream.
Amazing ice cream. When we visited, it was cold and there was still a line! Totally worth the wait.
Great ice cream with a lot of interesting flavor. Also variety of seasonal flavor as well. I love their black sesame flavor.
Great ice cream, homemade unique flavors that you wont find anywhere else. Friendly and professional staff. A good stop while walking in mission or sun bathing in the park. The lane can be impressive but its worth it.Im taking one star away because for a place with such good ice creams its a pitty to use commercial cones. A good homemade waffle cone adds that extra something that makes it different.
Some of the BEST local ice cream. They have a list of regular flavors including honey lavender and ricanelas which are my faves. They also have seasonal flavors which are all listed on their website. For dairy-free folk, they have a good selection of sorbets and oat-milk based flavors, so there’s something for everyone. :) Follow their Instagram to get a heads up when new flavors are going to drop!
Salted caramel and roasted coconut are my fav if you can combine both even better. Roasted coconut is seasonal
Got to choose 4 different flavors foot their tasters flight. Surprised how much I like the nontraditional flavors
Omg🤭! This place is just “LOVE” 💖I love their ice cream and unique flavours especially “honey lavender “. If you like herb and flowery flavor or tea, strongly recommended to try this flavor. They use good ingredients.I had honey lavender, mint, black sesame flavor which is the seasonal menu for some period.
Delightful always. High quality ice cream. Probably best in San Francisco. My favorites are Salted Caramel, Orange Cardamon, Brown sugar and ginger swirl, mint chocolate chip, Creme Brulee etc.
Tasted amazing I would highly recommend it
I got the honey lavender cup and it was amazing! I know lavender ice cream sounds strange but trust me, if you’re a fruit/veggie/herb lover and like lavender you’ll enjoy it! Great place and would definitely come back if I am ever in the area. I would also purchase pints of that Honey Lavender ice cream if it was in my area- patent the flavor & market it for retail!
Great service, and excellent flavours. We had cones and cups, with multiple flavours, all of them were spot on and so yummy. In addition the COVID safety precautions they put in place are very responsible and respectful. Thank you very much BiRite and see you soon
Best ice cream sandwiches ever. I cannot get enough of their vanilla + chocolate chip cookie
Quick, efficient and friendly. Three things appreciated especially during the pandemic.
Amazing flavors you will find nowhere else
The salted caramel is divine! I go once a week or so, its so good OMG! Then the lavender, and next the Rose. This is so far that Ive tasted 70% of them. The Black Sesame is great but not alone, take it with another taste. The coconut chocolate, not much, the other coconut taste also not a big fan, I think its vanilla coconut, too sweet and not much coconut taste. The same with Ricanelas, too sweet and not much flavor or anything special, I would try everything here at least once hehe. Ill add more if I dont forget the next time I go...which is perhaps today ;) see you there 👍
Tasty ice cream flavors, they have a couple of soft serve flavors, and several vegan offerings. Currently cashless, if that matters to you
Absolutely delicious vegan ice cream (nice to find as someone who is lactose-intolerant). Worth it when the line is wrapped around the corner for several car lengths? Probably not unless you just feel like you have time to kill. But if you can catch it when it is only a few people deep? Jump in quick - you wont regret it!
