First time visiting Polly Ann Ice Cream since lockdown and oooft how I’ve missed it. They offer honestly the most unique flavors that you would probably never find at any other ice cream joint. Some of my favs: Thai tea, jasmine tea, black sesame. Many flavors are often seasonal so you never really know what to expect when you stop by. Great neighborhood ice cream shop. Always get the Minty Oreo or Taro flavor after a day at the library and park with my niece. Pineapple hibiscus is also another fave of mine though but it’s a little more sorbet-like. Just an FYI.

Heard good things about Polly Ann but both my wife and I thought the ice cream wasn’t good enough to finish - all four flavors were icy with a chemical aftertaste. Bummed because we loved the idea of having a great ice cream place near home!

I got the Pink Panda, Oolong Fortune Cookie, and Congee Milk Pudding flavors and they were...interesting to say the least. I appreciate how Polly Ann experiments with unique flavors but none of the ones I got tasted very good. Im sure their more normal flavors taste better. The ones I got had a weird texture. The fortune cookie was soft and grainy and the Congee had toasted rice bits in there which also made it taste grainy. I guess I dont really like grainy textured icecream. Would possibly come here again when I visit Eggettes next door. But for now, $10 a pint for their normal flavors is a little pricey for me.

Home made! Loved this place forever! I remember I used to take my dog there and they would give you & the dog a free cone!😍. Used to get bubblegum ice cream Cuz long after the ice cream was gone you still had gum!😆. When they were closed for awhile during the remodel was the toughest time!

Come here and have them spin the wheel to help you decide which of 50 flavors to choose. Come here and get a sundae, so you can have more than one of their unusual and delicious flavors. Just come here.

Hollow bowl of ice cream!Grew up coming here. Remember when it was this weird hole in the wall shop that had unique flavors and a variety of sweets? (Good old days) Still yummy. Will still come back...but been disappointed lately. Last visit, bought a large soft serve ($4) that was hollow inside. Funny.

Polly Ann has awesome Asian flavors like durian, mango, jackfruit, ube, coconut pineapple. Its very very good! Not as creamy or intense as Mitchells but a different style thats very satisfying too! Lines are reasonable so if pressed for time, this place is a great alternative to get ice cream at night.

Not so many flavors the cold windy foggy misty day I went and the ice cream was melting fast so I had to eat it fast…

Kind staff who also let you sample the ice cream. We didnt sample any and went by the staffs suggestion instead. The ice creams tasted good and they have a lot of flavors to choose from.

This neighborhood ice cream shop is tucked away and easy to miss but a must try. So many great flavors and friendly staff.

This sweet little ice cream shop is located in a nondescript building in the outer Sunset. There’s an eclectic selection of ice cream (including taro, black sesame, and lychee) plus a tiny “minimart” section of candy and chips. You can even get a small canine cone for your dog! For the adventurous, you can let the giant wheel choose your flavor for you (though that’s been temporarily suspended during Covid).

Love the engraved info and the size is perfect for my collar.

Great variety of flavors. I got the San Francisco flavor which is peach ice cream with toasted almonds. It did not disappoint.

I wanted to give 4.5, but Id be lying, the ice cream is good, lots of cool flavors. The pralines in the ice cream arent really pralines, but i didnt mind because its really good ice cream!

Love this ice cream store. We have been bringing our kids here since they were toddlers, and now they are in college. The coolest thing about this store is the huge wheel on the wall. You take a spin and eat whatever flavor it lands on. They have the most flavors than any other ice cream place. Flavors like pistachio, taro, coconut, Thai tea, etc.

The best! 200+ flavors and you never know what flavor will pop up. Today it was Mango with chocolate. Each ice cream is handcrafted in small batches. You can taste the difference. Everything tastes so fresh! Spin the wheel and try a new flavor. Or ask Winston to surprise you with one of hia creations. You can never go wrong. Everyone leaves happy!

Theyve got some bold flavors along with the classics. I had never heard of red bean or black sesame ice cream before. Theres always a good amount of people around and Ive only heard great things from the locals in the area. The ice cream is pretty good but nothing out-of-this-world, maybe I just didnt try a bold enough flavor (I stuck with my standard cookie dough). I will definitely be returning to assess further.

Excellent and varied selection of flavors, including a lot of good, kid friendly ones that you wouldnt find at Salt and Straw or Mitchells. Also a cool spin the wheel contraption that allows you to win a free ice cream or get stuck with only one of three choices. Staff is nice and it has an older school SF feeling. I still think, overall, I prefer the quality of ice cream at Salt and Straw or Mitchells more, but this is my choice in the far western part of the city.

Great ice cream. I mean, its this place or Bi-Rite in my opinion.They have like 45 flavors and other candy items. Just a bit higher priced then other ice cream shops in San Francisco. And Im still, waiting for the flavor, Chocolate, Cherry, Coffee, Champagne to come back. Have a big event this weekend and could have used a few gallons of this stuff. Hopefully someday.

My family has always loved Polly Anns ice cream. We have been going there as long as I can remember. Now that weve all moved away from san Francisco we make trips back up and always try to stop by when we were in town. They have 40odd flavors and different options, their ice cream is smooth, creamy and oh SO delicious! My family most recently had jasmine tea, green tea, lychee, and mango/strawberry swirl. I wish we had taken a picture but we ate it too fast!

A great place to get ice cream. Pretty reasonably priced for the city. Left in a nice neighborhood and makes sense why it has been open for so long.Walking in you are greeted with three options. A basket of numbers where you can pick three flavors and decide where from there. The second option is spinning the wheel, and you get what flavor you get. Better than Mitchells. Its a far drive from the inner city and parking kinda sucks. But its a great place. They have the best choices for ice cream. Some you might never have thought of before. Great customer service and fun atmosphere.

Surprisingly tasty. The place doesnt look fancy or trendy, its very simple, and doesnt look like much but the ice creams are quite tasty. You can ask to taste all the flavours before you pick The One. Definitely recommend after a nice sunny day out on the beach.

Neighborhood ice cream dont like their line. You can be outside freezing in line. So many flavors. A bit icy. Coconut/ pineapple, 4Cs (champagne, coffee, chocolate, maraschino cherries). So reasonable. Dont have to break the bank. Strange unknown flavors: star wars.

When i was younger I used to go there almost every week,and I would say personally you should go there.There service is actually great and they sell candy,icecream,and even ice cream cake for a great price ^_^.They are really patient with your order and have many different flavors,and toppings.They let you sample with a little sppon,and has its own seating but when I used to go there they had a gumball machine near the door way and I always thougth the shop was cute.Althougth they didnt have many tables they might now,So if you are close to that shop one dat I would definetly reccomend you to taste there Amazing Icecream. -

Very good service and great selection of delicious ice cream. Black sesame is a must try among other funky but surprisingly delicious flavors. This place also offers ice cream cakes that are really good for 6-8 people. Takes a couple of days of lead time but totally worth it.

Pollys is always one of my favorite places to go, but thanks to superstar waitress Rachel, this visit was a demonstration of stellar customer service.

Polly Ann…..oh it’s so hard to choose every time I am at Polly Ann. There are just so many classic flavors, and lots Asian flavors to choose from! Love love love their black sesame, so creamy and tasted like real sesame!! Tried the taro flavor too and was delicious. Since I always have a hard time deciding which flavors to get…will have to one day let their wheel of fortune decide for me :)

Quality ice cream and they had over 40 flavors. The lychee and the coconut & pineapple were very flavorful and the price for two scoops was like 5.60. Worth it.

This has very good ice cream and cheap candy. All the flavors are really good. But do not come to Polly Ann from 3:35 to 4:00 on weekdays because it will be crowded with students from A.P.Giannini. That goes for eggets and the hardware store up the street too. Other than that Polly Ann is a great place for ice cream.
