TK is amazing. I needed front and rear wheels for my bike because they were stolen (ugh). Called around several nearby bike shops and TK was the only one who could/willing to provide me with an itemized estimate based on the info I provided (bike type, wheel size, cassette speed, brake type). The whole process was very transparent, all parts were reasonably priced. I brought in my bike in the morning and later in the afternoon it was done.Highly recommended. Repair service is amazing. My bike rides good as new.P.S. remember to lock your wheels people! No matter how short amount of time you think you are leaving your bike alone!
John & TK are the absolute best, when I was commuting they took care of my bike every day, but now I go out of my way to bring my bikes here to get tuned, super-fast turnaround, highly recommend.
Absolutely awesome place, both for the (free!) valet service, and reasonably priced exceptional repairs. The people who work here are always super friendly and try their best to be helpful in making my commute less bad---which is an incredibly difficult job IMO given the level of stress commuters usually have coming off of Caltrain 😅Im so grateful of their help, and the occasional chit chat we get to share when Im not desperately running late.
Great service! Thoughtful and thorough! John, TK and Luzern are a super team.
This free service is so awesome! Drop your bike off in the morning and pick up in the evening so you can enjoy a hassle free commute on Caltrain without the stress of getting bumped off of a train due to overflowing bike cars. This has saved me hours of waiting on platforms for a train that would let little ol me and my bike on! They will also service your bike for affordable prices while you are at work. I love two birds one stone opportunities. Earn your good karma and tip these lovely people well, they deserve it!
These guys are super consistent as a valet service and handle the commuter rushes well. Extremely friendly staff who are almost always in a good mood, which is impressive considering the task at hand. Highly recommended for those who have a short walk to work or take a bus on the other end of their Caltrain commute.
Great service, friendly, safe, great music. Makes my day to talk to them. And I don’t have to stress with bike in the train
Man these guys are some of the most patient yet professional folks you can find. No matter how crazy the Caltrain schedule gets they have you setup in no time. Repairs have always been ace - Ian, Tyler and the rest of the crew are an absolute joy.
I had a knocking noise while peddling and after some googling realized my bottom bracket was the problem. Since this place is so conveniently located, took the bike there. And was very happy to get it back the same day! The repair person gave some story about how he took out everything and fixed it. I took the bike and boarded my train. When I got off my Caltrain station, found nothing had changed at all. After bunch of Youtube tutorials and getting tools from Amazon, took the bottom bracket out to find the metal casing holding the ball bearings completely bent. I highly doubt they even touched the bike. Fortunately Youtube saved the day and was able to put a new bottom bracket in place.
The people here are friendly and helpful, if a bit overworked. Theyre honest in their assessments when you ask about repairs and parts. And of course, if you take your bike on the Caltrain, you cant beat the location
Great service! The guys in there are super cordial and the service is top notch. Highly recommend parking (for free!) and/or using the services.
Unbelievable. I dropped my bike off here to get a flat fixed. I started to take my lock and helmet with me, but the employee insisted it would be fine to leave it with my bike. They called me later and asked me to approve a few other repairs, resulting in over $100 of bike maintenance, which was fine. After I paid I took my helmet off the handle bars where it was strapped on tight and the back part of a plastic strap that is used to tighten it was broken. This helmet is less than a year old but un-usable because I cant tighten it now. I told me this and they insisted it wasnt their fault. I was floored. Did they think I was just riding around with a broken helmet with half the back strap hanging off? Or did they think I was lying? One employee was very hostile and condescending and refused to acknowledge any wrongdoing. She seemed insulted that I would suggest that it somehow broke in their possession. The other employee tried to make it up to me by selling me a helmet at cost. My helmet wasnt even a year old! I didnt want to buy another helmet for $20 when it was their fault, especially after I just spent over $100 in repairs AND I offered to take the helmet with me when I dropped off the bike. There was nothing I could do though- I couldnt prove anything.I just cant believe they would think a customer was lying about having a broken helmet after I spent over $100 in other repairs with them. Did they think I was swindling them into getting a new helmet? Needless to say, this was a very disappointing experience.
I had a heart attack right out front. As I was holding onto life waiting for the EMTs I thought that looks like a thriving business.
A handy place to park your bike while you take Caltrain or shop nearby. Also good for simple repairs that can be done while youre at work.
They offer free storage for your bike overnight so you dont have to schlep it on the train or during the day if you wont have a safe place to keep it locked up where youll be. This is great because the trains have limited capacity for bikes and especially during the summer, it is common for cyclists to be denied boarding due to space issues. And on the other side, SF has a serious bike theft problem, so leaving bikes locked outside all day can be a risky proposition.During rush hour in the morning and evening there can be a wait for pick up and drop-off (but mostly for pick-up). The staff has varied over the years Ive been using the service but theyre generally friendly and knowledgeable and they remember who goes with what bike over time for the regulars. It is nice to be able to drop the bike off for service in the morning and pick it up for my ride home, or when I got a flat on the way to the train, to leave it overnight and pick it up after work the next day. Their service prices are about the same as my local shop and they seem to have average prices for parts (or they will install parts you bring in) so the convenience is really the deciding factor for me.
Average place. Handy if you use your bike to get to and from CalTrain
Everyone here is so kind, free bike valet for your commute (throughout the day or overnight) and SO convenient
Horrible. They implement a clipper card system where you have a monthly pass which should eliminate the need to tag on and off each month. However the bright Caltrain employees open the doors only 10 minutes before a train departs and require to check passes before to can get past the double doors. For what reason? Also, whenever (which is often) there is a train delay, accident, etc. there are no Caltrain employees to be found, no announcements made, and no one knows anything.
One of the easiest ways to get to and from San Francisco. The CalTrain Bike Locker program is really convenient and affordable, for those looking to lock up their bikes riding to the station. It is only $30 for six months, and is very safe for locking up your bike.
Gem of a bike shop- friendly, knowledgeable, helpful guys and gals, plus an amazing service they provide. They make my daily commute much happier in a couple different ways.
I went there for 2 weeks and a half. I used this train every single day. Never had a problem. You can just read a book and relax.
Free bike valet? Yes please! And theyll service your bike while youre at work. I believe it is one night free, then $5 per night after.
For a train station that sees thousands of crazy people passing through its doors every day, its an overall clean and well run establishment. There is a seating/rest area, bathrooms, and ATMs inside. For those leaving the ballpark or a night on town, the Safeway across the street is clutch for some snacks on the the midnight train.
Decently clean station had food and drink stations. Its in the city so there had to be a certain standard compared to other stations
Great service that lets you keep your bike here for free and also does repairs while your bike is parked
Not a bad place. I used them once and it was nice
Amazing service and awesome staff!
Amazing service by an awesome staff!
Is usually on time unless there is an accident and more reliable than BART.
The good thing about caltrain is its really clean and for the most part on time. However they have many incidents throughout the year including car collisions, pedestrians trying to commit suicide, etc which cause HUGE delays. Many of them are not their fault but they really need to come up with a better system as to how they handle these delays. The conductors are not good at giving updates and passengers are pretty much stranded when something happens. Ive had my door to door commute from sf to my home in sj last 3 hours! It would be wonderful if caltrain came up with a new track designs so trains can go around incidents and continue their route.
Good service and cheap bike lights for when you need emInstalled my headset a bit loose though
Never had to wait much, just in and out. The Caltrain system is way too slow, but the station is fine.
Clean and well organized. Good hub.
Well kept station. Late at night youll find some weirdos in there though.
It is quite an overwhelming place to be in, especially if you are in a hurry. Also, the Amtrak station is in front and is easily missed.
Awesome! keep ur bike for u
Seems like a good bike station
Meeting some great minds
Great place for repairs.
Great train stop.
Decent bike storage but I hate how easy it is to steal a bike.
Nasty dirty AF
Does exactly what is says
Take your bicycle in Caltrain to the city!
