Loved the atmosphere! Ice cream is delicious and the variety of flavors are pretty sweet! They have a lot of vintage looking stuff and the lady was pleasant. She adds a bit more than a scoop to your cone :)

First time in Texas, here attending a conference. Stopped in this cute ice cream shop today and a woman was helping a couple. My colleague and I waited patiently for her to provide service to them. She never acknowledged us and after giving them their ice cream choices proceeded to engage in conversation with them, never addressing us. After some awkward stares from us wondering what was going on she eventually came and helped us. The ice cream flavors are unique so I asked if it was possible to sample a particular flavor. She said it was not allowed which I’m sure is probably the policy, but after our dismissive greeting I left wondering if this was really the case. Ice cream was amazing!Rating is for customer service.

Saw this places as we were walking by this weekend and decided to stop in for a treat. I got a chocolate shake made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. It was delicious. All the teen guys working there were very friendly and fast. Great place to go.

We went to Mr Ice Cream late Tuesday evening. There was a long line and one young man working. Everyone was happy to wait. But most impressive was this young man. He was not flustered with being the only employee serving so many people. He was very courteous and professional. It was so nice to see everyone being nice humans and enjoying the yummy ice cream! We have been coming here for years and historically love it. Today unfortunately the staff was very rude - it was off-putting. Not sure what happened but the 2 girls were moving very slow it took over 20 minutes for us to get our order while only 2 small parties were in front of us. However the bluebell ice cream is always yummy and the shakes are good!

Best ice cream shop. The lady that runs the place is so nice!! She gave my kids 50 cents from the tip jar to buy a ball out of the machine. The ice cream tasted homemade and melted in your mouth. If i ever come back to san antonio i will definitely come back!!!

I went in this past weekend, I live just down the street 10/10 recommended. i decided to go in the morning Saturday and Sunday, the sweetest young ladies, very kind ! Both very friendly, and also a very clean shop ! Went in tonight as well, nice handsome young man working ! JUST OVERALL GREAT SERVICE !!! SOOOOO MANY ICE CREAM FLAVORS ! ! It was hard to choose from ! it was nice to just go down the stairs and there is the river walk ! YOU HAVE TO STOP BY ! I mean who doesn’t love ice cream ?!

Mr Ice Cream only has Blue Bell!! The cashier seemed pretty disengaged, on her phone basically the entire time except for when it we were ordering. The pricing is okay for the amount of ice cream.Dont play the coin machines inside the store. They are broken!

Disappointed. It was not busy at all when we went there. Only one customer inside. The girl at the counter was very nice. But neither my husband nor I enjoyed the ice cream as much. It wasnt bad but it wasnt good either. 🙁

Its a little bit cramped inside, but its unpretentious and the ice cream is pretty darn good (Blue Bell). Its very conveniently located if youre at the Esquire or somewhere around the Commerce corridor, the line can be long but they get people through pretty quickly.

Wow best banana splits ever! Ice cream is blue bell so you cannot go wrong with that. I got an all hot fudge banana split with nuts and whipped cream. Everyone else got cones with single scoops. Everything was scrumptious, you have got to try this place, you will no doubt enjoy it.

These guys were amazing. I was in a pinch and needed a mask to get in an Uber because it is required by them. So I was standing outside of Mr. Ice Cream and stepped inside to see if by chance I could ask them for a mask. Kalei, Jasmine, Jett all three employees were so nice and kind in trying to help me. So after Jett and Jasmine tried to see if they had any mask and were not able to find one, then Kalei found one that she offered to me from one she had found in her purse. Then after that Texan generous hospitality I was so happy to be able to get some great Blue Bell ice cream. I used to live in Texas but now live in PA and I am not able to get it until I come back to TX, It was so delicious. So no matter if you want great hospitality or the best ice cream, either way you will come away very happy.

Interesting flavors but scoop size and customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Would never go again. ther is a line out the door and one slow girl is scooping. the other girl was cleaning. ridiculous! one scoop that goes on top of the cone, nothing inside. plus no a/c- sooo hot inside!

Great ice creams!!! But they wait until you order and then tell you they only take cash!!! And then youll be advised to use the ATM they have INSIDE the shop (what a surprise) that will charge you $3.5 regardless how much you withdraw.

The Ice Cream itself was good. But, they dont accept credit or debit cards. Sure, they have an onsite ATM machine. But why should I pay the $3.00 fee to take out my own money in order to buy Ice Cream? Otherwise, this is not a bad place. Good location along the River Walk.

Mr. Ice cream has got to be the best ice cream parlor Ive ever been to! My daughter loves coming to this place because obviously the ice cream but also the Fantastic customer service. They only take cash and they do have an ATM very close by so its not an issue but we didnt know that when we went to go check out and they offered to pay for our ice cream! We still took out cash and paid but it was still very nice knowing that they value customer service so highly. They were very nice to my daughter and we will definitely make this a go to ice cream place. 5 out of 5 stars!

Nothing special about this place just an old shack that happened to be around the river walk, also the I cream aint even all that I tried the butter pecan and it sucked. I know every one has a different taste but honestly blue bell is much better. This is the coolest little 1950s style ice cream shop right on the San Antonio Riverwalk. I brought some friends there who were in town for the Final Four. The place was extremely busy, but the employees were all super friendly and appeared to be very fast and proficient in their jobs. One thing we all noticed was that they stayed open far past their posted closing time just to take care if all of the extra people that were in town. The ice cream is Blue Bell, a local Texas favorite. Id definitely bring anyone else visiting San Antonio there!

The ice cream was delicious and the interior was cute. However, they were understaffed, and they significantly overfilled my sundae to the point that it was dripping all down the sides. It was a hot day though, so it may be a five star ice cream joint in a normal day and the two ladies working were killing it for how busy they were and were friendly despite the mob. Overall an enjoyable experience :)

I dont carry cash and i dont like cash only businesses. The male employee did not say they were cash only. I noticed after my son had started eating his cone so i had to take money out of the ATM with the 3.50 fee. I did not get any Ice cream for myself since I was forced to take out cash. As I was typing this review someone else was surprised when they were told cash only by the female employee. In this day and age there is no excuse for being cash only. There is no sign in their window saying cash only. If there had been I would have never gone in.

We came in around 10pm on a week day. There was a couple ahead of us. Girl asked what we wanted, I asked to try one. She gave me the sample and went onto the next customers behind us. We had to wait about 7 minutes til the other girl noticed we were passed up. Both girls not friendly, and quite rude to not wait on your current customer. My husband told her to keep the change, about $3 for a tip. She stuffed it in her jar and left. No thank you whatsoever. Maybe times in customer service have changed. We will not be coming back to this ice cream shop again, when we come into town.

Disappointed in the Customer service. We ordered our ice cream and went to pay with our card and she says we take cash only. There is NO sign on the front door. I said are there any signs and she said in a rude way there are 4. Yes there are four signs in a cluster of a bunch of other signs that blends in with all the other signs. However they “conveniently “ have an ATM with a $3.50 charge.
