I want to love Bassett but we have been so disappointed. Our designer was incredible, the delivery staff was excellent and the communication was constant. But the quality is horrible! Our furniture was delivered on March 5th, we are now in May and our coffee table is already cracking. I created a claim with the $800 insurance we purchased and they said it wasnt covered. We spent thousands of dollars on our purchase and the table alone was $1k+. Incredibly disappointed and frustrated. We will not be purchasing from them again :(Updated Review! After contacting our Sales rep about the cracking on the table, the store ended up replacing the top of the table. It is basically brand new and we have not had any problems. While our initial experience was not ideal, I was happy to see there team take care of us.
I will say that the initial impression of Bassett has been good. The design person was a good guy and the customer support was also satisfactory. They did do a repair on something that went wrong with one piece and no problems. However now its been two years and something else is wrong with another piece of furniture. I am just saying that the company markets itself as long lasting furniture but its been two years and I already have had multiple problems. The most recent repair i called for support and they said there was nothing they could do. I also purchased the warranty through guardsman that Bassett recommended. Filed a claim with that company and they also said the repair was not covered.So here is my review: The people there are nice. The product they sell is not what it portrays itself to be. We paid the higher cost because we thought with the higher cost came long lasting furniture. We have been disappointed to discover that this is not the case. Their furniture will not last as long as you think. And after a certain point you will not get support on your purchases.Respectfully

My experience with this Bassett store was so disappointing. We purchased 2 chairs in November and by summer they were falling apart as seen in the photos. We are sick that we spend so much money and received such poor quality. The staff was charming when selling the product, but has been non-responsive and unwilling to make this right since. They want to “repair” the trouble spots. We didn’t pay a piecemeal price, but now we’ll have piecemeal furniture. I would not recommend spending time or money with this company.
An ordered glass lighting pendant was delivered, but the glass contained a noticeable flaw. I returned the fixture to the store at the Rim, and an exchange return was executed efficiently and with many apologies. Very good customer service.
My sister and I went in looking for a sectional for her home. We were both in casual clothes, I just finished a work out and she wanted me to swing by and help her look. We walked in and there were several employees in the store around a desk. Not ONE person acknowledge us. No other shoppers in the store that we saw immediately. I even said out loud “I guess we do not belong here!?!?” We were just stared at. It was very VERY uncomfortable. We walked in one section of the store and left.
Sales person Roger Gibbs did an excellent job of listening and bringing my husband and my tastes into a product. R Gibbs knows his products very well and kept us updated throughout the process. the regular updates helped keep our planning for arrival much easier.
There is pilling all over the couch we bought less than a year ago. The warranty doesnt cover pilling so were left with a couch that is looking years old after 10 months. The salesman lied and said the fabric we got was super durable.We wont be shopping at Bassett ever again.
We went to Bassett to purchase our sectional because they had a great name years back. I guess we should have checked the current reviews. Our sectional is less than 3 mos old and all of the fabric is worn and pillig. The cushions are also way too soft and our back is hurting from sinking into the seat. The tech (Martin) came out and said he sees this often and the salesperson should have informed me about the fabric doing this. He also agreed the cusions needed to be replaced. I am not sure what Bassett is going to do about this because the person is charge is acting like there is no problem. I was promised a return call yesterday and have yet to hear from anyone. This sectional cost over 6K and I will be contacting the BBB and Consumer Affairs along with my attorneny if they do not make this right or give me a full refund immediately and come get their cheaply made couch. This is not hte same company it was 25 years ago. I cannot reccomend them anymore.
I had recently bought a new house and wanted new furniture but didnt want the hassle of figuring out designs. On the recommendation of another customer in my neighborhood, I went to Bassett. I met a skilled designer named CindyG, who came to my house, took measurements, listened to my concerns, took thorough notes and said shed see what she could do. She selected a new bedroom set, an area rug, a china cabinet, a dining room table and some other items. Everything looks excellent and better yet, she found some items on clearance which saved quite a bit of money. Bassett is NOT cheap! I am very pleased. I gave four stars instead of five, because of Bassetts very high prices. But all things considered, I am very pleased with their products and services.
Our sales person, Carol Hilburn, is great, but I dont think I will be buying anymore furniture from Bassett. The media center we ordered was delivered without all the hardware and missing one of the shelves. It has been almost 2 months and we still do not have a complete media center. Carol has been great but their service department is horrible.

Went in to ask a question about furniture hardware. Two of the three floor salesmen were helpful. The third sould not have even been involved.
Our salesman Mark was very helpful and knowledgeable. He provided us with an outstanding home design service, and he kept us updated throughout the whole process
I have had my sectional for going on 4 years, I recently started having issues with it, when i contacted the warranty department, they have been nothing but rude. They have not been helpful at all. I have requested to speak to a manager but they are giving me the run around with that too. Although the furniture is good quality, the hassle with the warranty and their lack of customer service makes it not worth it.I do not see myself purchasing from Bassett again.
Really, everything went very well. I am quite pleased. I will say that our salesman, Lee Goltzman, was outstanding. He knows the products very well and that helped us select the furtniture that we selected. He also kept us informed throughout the entire process which I think is outstanding customer service.
Very friendly and attentive and capable staff. We just wish the prices were a little better, but the store itself is always very clean and a real pleasure to be in.
This is an update: please read this whole review before even stepping foot in their door.I made a large purchase (over $20,000) and cannot be more disappointed. First, the delivery came well over the advertised 30 days and almost two months later, my order is not complete. I should have gone to Rooms to go for my furniture as the quality is the same and I would have had my order in a week and would have saved a lot of money. I found that it is much more cost-effective to go to specialty stores to get whats needed. For example, for drapery, go to a window treatment specialist. I realize that this might make for a slight inconvenience, but it would be well-worth it as your frustration would likely be spared. So, now, almost two months later, my order is still not complete, in addition, I have to wait for Bassetts installer to have the time to install what I ordered, that is, not until my order is delivered.I have lots more that I need to buy, but will take my business elsewhere.Overall, I regret the day I walked into this place and fed false promises.Months later and still having problems. No one to install drapery. Looking back, From all the crap that Chelsea sold us, I lost my living room space as I trusted her too much and bought everything she suggested. I have enough furniture to open my own store!!!!! They dont refund, but I am going to do what my lawyer told me to do and if that doesnt work, off to court we go and the better business bureau will know about this and the news and I will be posting a review in the local newspaper. More to come...............Bottom line, if you want good furniture and furnishings where someone wont try to sell you everything, then not deliver, go to Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware.The saleswoman made sense of her job by telling me that I have the best job as I get to spend everyone elses money. What a shame.
Had an awesome experience here. Learned a lot about this place. First off, its not Ikea, so dont expect that pricing. Its pricey, but its quality. Real wood, manufactured here in Virginia. They sell mattresses from all the tempurpedic brands, so: Stearns and Foster, Sealy, and obviously Tempurpedic. 30 percent military discount year round. They do furniture delivery all around San Antonio to include Austin. Very cordial salesman who can hold a conversation and arent pushy. The guy we talked to was Roger, I highly recommend asking for him if youre buying here.
Our sales associate is extremely knowledgeable and has been helpful and proactive in checking on our deliveries.

Worst customer service experience you can get in a furniture store in San Antonio -- do not buy furniture from this store -- if its defective and you call them as early as the day after it arrives -- nothing will be done -- very very disappointing
