If I could give a zero I would. My father has had numerous surgeries scheduled here and they ALWAYS reschedule him. They either OVER BOOK or want to level their appointments out. They say!!! He went in for surgery at 9 a. M. This morning and they cut him open and then had no one to stitch him up SO they sent him to wait in the waiting room WITHOUT BEING STITCHED UP!!!! It is now 2 and a half hours later and he is still waiting to be stitched up. They said they are waiting on a room. If you have another choice DONT GO HERE. I have never seen anything like this place. My father is 91 years old. When you call them you are lucky to get a call back. Maybe they might call you the next week. Very bad communication skills between all of them!! They don’t know their )(;; from a hole in the ground.

I was very impressed with the courtesy and kindness that the entire staff demonstrated. Michelle was outstanding, she made sure I understand how to take care of myself going forward. Thank for making this procedure a pleasant experience.

All of the Doctors, nurses and associates were very professional and courteous. They covered every procedure that was being done during our visit. They provided step by step instructions for post operative care. When you leave, you dont have to worry about what to do, they cover it all with you. Even give you a number to reach them after hours.

Everything and everyone concerning my appointment was excellent with one exception. I had a 9:30 appointment and I arrived at 9:20. However I was not seen until 10:15! I can understand 15 even 20 minute delay but 45 minutes was very frustrating!I had another appointment at 11:00 and started to think I would be leaving before seeing Marissa.I will continue to recommend your practice but do hope this waiting time can be improved.

These folks are great. The front desk is always cheerful, helpful and accommodating. I realized I forgot my mask in my other vehicle and they gladly provided me a temporary substitution. All the staff is friendly and professional. I am always treated like I was just there last week even if it has been a year. They are like a good neighbor.

Extremely difficult to get ahold of! I have been calling and even drove to the Rockwall office to make an appointment but they only let patients with appointments inside. Set on hold for 8 minutes and was disconnected. I have left several messages. If I didn’t have a gift card I would stop wasting my time! Don’t make the same mistake I have, just go somewhere else!

First time here. Saw Marissa Bothun. Staff was very friendly. She reviewed my concerns and advised that she could take care of my Milia, but it would be an expensive procedure if she did it. She gave me options 1) taking care of it myself, zero cost; 2)see the Esthetician for $30; or she could do it for a couple hundred dollars since it’s considered cosmetic. I opted for seeing the Esthetician. She happened to be available and I was in and out in 15 min! My experience was very positive and I left with all requests completed with care. All facial Milia gone!

The office was organized and everything flowed smoothly. I’ve gotten used to a wait once brought into the exam room, but that was not the case here; I waited maybe 5 min, max. The Dr was friendly and very competent. I would definitely recommend the Dermatology and Skin Care Surgery Center in general and Dr. Hixon particularly.

The doctors are knowledgeable, my husband and I both have been treated very well. On surgery day the Rockwall Clinic is wall to wall people, we waited 1.5 hours for our appointment to go in for a biopsy and removal of small area. Doctor was very professional, did what needed to be done and was gone. Recently I saw a PA, very personable and knew what to do for my issues. I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment but we waited about 40 minutes after my appointment time to be put into a room. Time management is my only complaint.

Do NOT use Dr. Barrows. He is incompetent.Updated: When I went back for the surgery Dr. Barrows did the surgery on the wrong spot on my head. He admitted it was the wrong spot and acted like it was no big deal and he wouldnt even apologize. They did refund my money, but I still have an unnecessary indent in my head. Do NOT use Dr. Barrows.1st visit: Very professional! I was able to see the doctor at the time of the appointment (no long waits in waiting room). Marissa was very nice and knowledgeable. I arrived early to my appointment and was admitted early also. Dr. Hixon and his nurse were both pleasant and efficient. Dr. Hixon made recommendations after the exam and after taking a biopsy. He was clear and cordial with his recommendations. The good part was that he told me why he was prescribing the cream for my face. The unfortunate part was that he did not tell me the the cream is very expensive ($255 for a small tube; my share would be $101). When I was informed of the price at the pharmacy I was shocked and chose not to buy the prescription. I wish the Dr would have told me about the cost so it could be discussed.

It did not take long to see a doctor. She explained everything, told me I would have my results in 2 weeks. The whole visit took probably less than 30 minutes. Great service. Friendly staff.

Skin cancer today can be a serious problem if ignored. Yearly checkups are the way to go and this is the place I have trusted in Texas for the last seven years.Im active outdoors from skiing to sailing and even with sun screen and hats my skin gets damaged and they always manage to fix it.

I needed assistance in enabling the healing of a wart that was frozen a few days prior. The physician assistant injected lidoocaine to numb the area which was not forming a scab. She cauterized the area on my hand and it is doing great now and healing just fine.

Dr. Hixon is impressive! He was personable, caring, and knowledgeable. Dr. Hixon was encouraging, honest, with an overall superb bedside manner. I highly recommend! His nurse was great as well! I cannot remember her name, and I’m so sorry! The facility was clean, and the office staff was friendly and helpful. My wife asked me to point out a few spots to a free skin check at my office. They barely glanced my way before saying it was nothing to worry about. We decided to get a second opinion and went to Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center of Rockwall for a skin check. I didnt tell them about the spots my wife pointed out as a test. Checking in was a breeze, the lobby is very comfortable and the entire staff had a smile on which sets a great mood for a patient. The Physicians Assistant, Amy, was polite and professional as she very quickly pointed out all the areas my wife saw and several we had not noticed. She explained the difference in mole colors and shape as indicators of when to come in to have something looked at, quickly froze a few areas that could have caused future problems and painlessly remove a skin tag that had been bothering me. Check out was again efficient and the front desk staff had me smiling all the way back to work. Friendly staff, convenient location and quality care means that the Rockwall office of Dermatology & Skin Cancer Surgery Center is now my preferred dermatologist.

Wasnt too bad the first visit. It was a bit difficult getting ahold of the scheduler but overall not the worst place in regards to customer service but certainly not the best. Maybe skin color gets you more attention. Seems more like a fancy building in one of the more elite areas of North Texas. No real care or follow up.
