If I could give them six stars I would! The entire process was seamless. From when I first contacted them to driving out of the lot. I was able to test drive, get a loan through their bank contacts, find a great warranty package, and drive out with temporary plates - all within an afternoon.For the one small repair the vehicle needed - they connected me with a mechanic and covered the costs.I worked directly with Luke, who was patient, friendly, and knowledgable about the entire process. This was extremely helpful with it being my first time financing a vehicle. He even put up with speaking with my overly talkative mom all the way in New York - haha!Thank you, Luke!! Just bought a 2007 Mustang GT and it was one of the best experiences buying a vehicle in my life. I originally came in to look at another Mustang but I wasnt happy with the car. Jim showed me the other Mustang that had just come in as a trade in. I took it for a test drive and even though it still had a spare on the front and the check engine light was on they assured me that the issues would be taken care of before I took delivery of the car the next week so I went ahead and put down a deposit. I live in Portola so getting back and forth to Reno can be a pain. The following Thursday I had a friend of mine take me back to the lot to pick up my new car. The car had the proper tires on it (cool old style rims, looks like the muscle cars from my youth) and the check engine light was off. Lucas got me some awesome financing through a local credit union and I was off to drive my new car home.On the way home the check engine light came back on. I was already scheduled to have it smogged (California - Nuff Said) so I went ahead and took it in. The technician diagnosed the problem as the aftermarket cold air intake that one of the previous owners had installed (causing a lean fuel condition). I called Lucas and told him what the problem was and he immediately apologized and told me to go ahead and order the parts that I needed and they would reimburse me the cost of the part. I received a check for the cost and was able to get the car legal.I would defiantly recommend Ideal Cars & Trucks to my friends, they were great to work with and bent over backwards to help me get the car of my dreams. My car died right after Thanksgiving and it was another bad thing to happen in 2020 and not good not have a vehicle with 2 kids right before Christmas. Im from out of town and had to get me and my kids back home. I put a application in online to try and get approved for something and I was called almost right away and Luke immediately was there to help and genuinely cared. I dont have the best credit and I had very little down. Needless to say I got a beautiful all wheel drive SUV for my kids and I. I waited a month to write this review because I wanted to see the after sale follow and Luke continually was there to help and the car is running great! Highly recommend.

My husband and I had randomly pulled into the ideal cars and trucks lot. We were looking for something inexpensive thats a commuter. His credit is not great and I have a loan already. Expectations werent high. We left with a four door truck in great condition and low miles, not what we were expecting, yet 100 times better. I am so happy and thankful we found our way here!! The guys are so kind and so good at their job. Honest and awesome!!!

When I initially thought about what I would write for this review, it was pretty negative. After some soul searching, I decided to focus on what I will do differently next time I buy a car... I will do far more research on the car and the dealership - read all the reviews you can find, youll see a pattern. I will purchase from a dealer closer to home - that way if there are issues with the car, I wont have to make the trip to Reno 4 times and have the car towed from Redding to Reno 1 time for repeated repairs (we live in Redding, CA), I would trust my intuition. Good luck to you if you purchase a car here.

Such a cute little Ma and Pa car lot that is owned by a cute family. We didnt know how they were operating during the holidays and during covid so we called before to set a time to looks at vehicles. We were greeted by Luke and he was so kind and curious and covid conscious. We test drove a couple vehicles and we are just waiting on the financing to complete so we can pick up our subaru. Luke had the carfax and the maintenance reports for the car and that made us fees so comfortable and at ease. No pressure

I’m so disappointed with the entire experience of this shop. We got new car and traded in our old car and gave everything we had to get new car for my family. Luke helped us. We were there literally all day trying to get financed. He was even suggesting fake pay stubs in order to get us this suv. Not even two weeks after getting car it is having major issues and a recall on the vehicle. We take it to Chevy where they said there was metal shavings in the engine and in the oil. They try to flush everything out and a month later it’s doing the same thing running awful and dying and losing power. We take it back to Chevy and they said our engine is blown and how whoever sold this car had to known of the issue before hand. We try calling the shop and finance place and both telling me nothing they can do. And how we still owe them 10k for a vehicle that won’t even start. We are new to the area and now stranded with both younger kids and no vehicle. And unable to get new car because we are financing this car that was sold to us already damaged. Worst experience I have ever gone through and hope nobody else gets screwed over by this shady dealer.

I arranged with Luke to come and buy a truck for $6000 over the phone.It was a deal because it needed some work because of a check engine light. I offered to put a deposit but he told me that he would hold the truck for me and wouldn’t take my deposit. It was a 5 hour drive from California so I texted him while driving up just to make sure everything was ok. 30 minutes before I got there I texted him and he texted me back. No problems. When I arrived at the dealer he had just sold the truck. I talked to the guy that bought it and he was working on the deal with Luke for hours. Plus Luke never told him about the check engine light that he told me about that said the truck needed a new EGR. Apparently they cleared the codes before selling it to him. This dealer is as shady as it gets.

The guys here are AWESOME. My wife and I went in looking for a car and they got us into it, through a bank with a low payment. They are not pushy and worked with us. I definitely recommend going in and seeing them if you are looking for a new ride! Thank you, Paul and the rest of the crew.

I came in on Friday the 21st of October 2017 to look at a 2007 Mazda 3 they had for sale .I took it for a test drive and everything seemed good, I was ready to buy the car but just in case I asked for a CARFAX report, and they said they would get it from the auctions for me and have it on Monday, so I said OK, I would be back on Monday to get the report and get an inspection done .So I left work early on Monday to get it all taken care, excited thinking I was going to be buying a new car, turns out The guys I talked too werent there nor was the car anywhere to be seen. So I asked another dealer and he told me that they had sold the car over the weekend. SHADY AS HELL!!!! .Dont do business with theses guys Im pretty sure they were hiding something. Either way CRAPPY customer service.

Terrible business people don’t deal with them!They are selling A car that’s not even in the lot over two weeks! They give us an appointment time when we can try to car and we went there twice and no car because the car is in the service we don’t even see the guy who gave us the appointment!I don’t think should show a car for sale if they don’t even have it!

Started out great. Was allowed to. check out the two trucks I was interested in. Then I did a slow engine rev on one engine to 3000 rpm for 5 seconds. No problem. Then I tried the second truck to do the same thing and some lady and some fat guy started yelling at me that I should never do that to a car. I have them the key and now Ill go by one from Harry before he goes out of business tomorrow.Dont go here unless you like the circus because clowns are running it.

Bought a vehicle from this car lot, been over a month now and still havent received paperwork to register at DMV. Never get a returned call, makes up some new excuse each time they do answer. The vehicle I bought ended up having major engine problems, when trying to discuss it with car lot I was called a liar along with mechanic from Ford dealership. Then told me, dont know what to tell you They falsified pre inspection /check engine report, rude crooked and dishonest. Do not buy from them you will get a lemon. They should be shut down

Total headache. They were supposed to fix something on the car I bought, theyve made the entire process a complete nightmare l hope to never hear from them again.Update - approximately 3 months since I bought the vehicle. They made the requested repair. Which is good since it just broke down and the vehicle has now been non-oped. If I could give them 0 stars I would.So to recap: the staff is extremely rude, and they will rip you off. If you’d like to roll the dice you’re welcome to it but I wouldn’t buy a bicycle from them again, let alone put someone I care about in one of their vehicles.UPDATE NUMBER 2: I have not driven the vehicle since my last update. It has been a garage paperweight for the last approximately 9 months. Since I would like to get rid of it I had some people take a look at it last night. Seems the motor is shot. So, essentially, I bought a car that ran for 3 months and then stored some garbage for another 8 or 9.*This review has been posted under a false name due to complaints from other reviewers that the not-so-friendly folks at Ideal harassed them for leaving bad reviews about them.

DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND WALK AWAY!!! I bought a 2004 Jetta from this company 05/27/2015 after driving it for a day and a half I texted the guy who sold me the car (DEZ) on 05/29/2015 and advised him it was shifting weird when I got on the freeway. He told me to bring it back and let him look at it, I brought it back that day. He drove it and said it was shifting weird because it was a turbo (I have worked for an auto repossession company for 3 years and know what a turbo feels like) I told him I wasnt sure that was it and he told me if it keeps doing it or gets worse to bring it back, a week later I texted him letting him know it was still doing it, no response. I brought it to a mechanic and he said during driving it he could tell there was really something wrong but since it was showing any codes he couldnt tell without running everything and for that he would charge me $80 which i didnt have being a single mother living paycheck to paycheck. I continued to drive it and contact shops in my area telling them what it was doing and seeing what it could possibly be, one shop told me it might be the catalytic converter (at this time I had the car about 2 weeks) I called the shop and spoke to the owner asking if it was something that serious if they would help me with the cost of replacement since I had addressed these problems with them after the 2nd day he said he wouldnt be able to pay all of it but he would pay some. I start to save money and a month later I bring it to the mechanic with the diagnostic fee, he runs all his tests and ends up the torque converter went out and it needs a whole new transmission. I contacted my warantee company immediately to see if they would cover some of the repair, they cover $3,000 worth of work. The transmission on my 2004 Jetta 1.8L turbo used it 2,700-4,000 so there was no way it would fall within the amount of $3,000 I would have to pay extra. I called the lot to see if they would help, they advised me to go to their mechanic and he would do it for $3,000 with a used transmission. I called the mechanic to ask what warantee the transmission had on it since it was used, he barley understood what I was saying since he could not speak English and said there was no warantee. I then looked into this mechanic he had 3 pending small claims cases by previous customer and bad reviews from customers stating he screwed them over. I didnt want to trade one problem for another so I went to a shop I knew was good and had a warantee on their transmissions. They finished the job for 3,850 at this time I had saved up $600 and paid that on the balance and my warantee company covered 3,000 which only left the balance of $250. I called the car lot to see if they would be able to cover this, they kept telling me the owner would call me back but he never did. I called 2 times a day for a week and no call back, i went there on Saturday and the owner was not there and he would give me a call at this point my car is still in the shop. I have to go get a loan to pay the $250 because this company has absolutely no moral compass what so ever. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!! IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG WITH THE CAR THEY WILL DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO HELP YOU AND JUST IGNORE YOU TILL YOU GO AWAY.

This place is the worse they will rip you off. I bought a truck from them and they told me since I was a friend and worked free for them they would do the deal at only $500 over cost. That was a lie they made over $1500 off me and wouldnt even give me back the over charge. Dont buy from this place they will screw you over and there cars will break down on you.

Owner did not honor her word about repair to be made. Not happy at all. No recomendation here just buyer beware!!!
