I had a bad transfer case leak on a long road trip. I came in close to closing time and Cassidy and his mechanic got me in within minutes of showing up. They topped of my transfer case and sold me the correct fluid so I could keep it topped off until I can get it fixed. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I can’t thank you guys enough. Super cool.

I am not local to Provo, but the amount of positive reviews and their strong reputation is why I was willing to take our vehicle there.Brought a 1997 F350 in for transmission, transfer case, and front/rear differential fluid service. They gave me good advice on the condition of the transmission, and how to proceed after their evaluation of the transmission pan etc.Unfortunately, noticed the next day that the front diff and transfer case had both started leaking fluid. Called the shop and they said no problem to bring back down (which is certainly a time commitment) but I appreciated they were willing to repair immediately. And, certainly understand that issues can happen when working on older vehicles.Got tied up for a few days, and called again to confirm it was ok to bring the truck down. Was told they are now a week out to get the truck in. In reality not a huge issue, but also not ideal.Have no doubt this is a highly skilled shop and staff. Just not sure, in my situation, its the most convenient

Ron Gordon Tire Pros recommended these guys for a service they couldnt provide, so I expected them to be good. They exceeded my high expectations.They provided the service requested, no BS, no jerking around. They noticed a few other issues Ive been looking for. They brought these issues to my attention and provided advice on how to handle them.During the appointment the tech came in a showed me the transmission fluid pan and told the condition of my transmission and what he did for my transmission.On top of all this, the customer service at the desk was exceptional. They were personable and straight forward. Never once did I feel as if I were being bamboozled.I travel the states full time living out of a van. I put off services I cant do myself until I get to Ron Gordon Tire Pros, and now Im adding Action Transmission for any transmission needs.

Referring to my last review, I had the diagnostic done in 03/31/2021. The invoice number is 53150. You couldnt find me because you guys didnt wrote my name correctly. As I mentioned before, the transmission didnt have problems, just a transmission flush was needed, but I got a call from you guys saying that I should change the transmission.

They did solid work. Had to leave the car with them to get in line to be worked on they had alot of vehicles in front of me. They did the work requested provided valuable insight. And made sure the car was in fully working condition before leaving. Only down side was having to take it back 2 days after picking it up due to a a separate issue that happene during reinstall. But they took care of it and made sure it was ready to go. I would recommend them overall if you dont need the work done right away. But they took care of what I needed and provided updates along the repair.

If I could give them 6 stars I would. They rebuilt a transmission for me. Super easy to work with, far exceeded not only my expectations, but also the schedule and quote that they gave me. Great group of fun people.

I bought a vehicle knowing that I would have to replace the transmission. I initially talked with Joe and he quoted me a fair price. There was some miscommunication about the warranty over the phone, but they worked with me in person to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. I was in town with my family for my sons wedding when the truck broke down the day before. I had it towed there on a strangers recommendation and a 5 star Google rating. Very glad I did. They got me taken care of a few days later and I was able to leave town only a few hours behind my original schedule.

Austin, Joe and the guys got my 2013 F150 back on the road on time and under budget. They were accessible, knowledgeable, and very flexible as to how we got this fixed (I found a used rear axle & differential, with their guidance, which they inspected, cleaned up and installed). Overall a fantastic shop!

I had taken my car to Steve’s Automotive in Orem where they told me I needed a whole new transmission at the cost of $7K. I brought it to Action for a 2nd opinion and Action was able to replace a couple of parts in the transmission & fix it for only $500. Action told me that what Steve’s Auto had told me was untrue & I did NOT need a whole new transmission. I’m so glad I found an honest repair shop where they don’t make up car problems just to make money in people. I will recommend Action to everyone. They were GREAT. On time, professional & honest.

Got my transmission replaced there 3 years ago. Started losing fluid on the freeway. Towed it to them, they found and fixed the problem despite being way past the warrantee. Only charged for the towing.

I pulled over in front of the building and put my hazards to talk real quick the people inside. After I was done, I went out and my battery had died, I didn’t even have to go back in someone was outside ready to help me. They asked me to “pop my trunk” got my car running right away at no cost with some information on what the most likely cause and some solutions. I felt like I was in Oregon gettin my gas pumped and windows washed for me. Down to earth regular employees who are working to get you the best service.

GREAT service! After repairing 40+ vehicles for me over the last 16 years I totally trust Action Transmission. I never leave reviews or do social media unless I have to. Action is too good to refuse.Most importantly, (to you readers anyway) I still ask for repair quotes but I do not need them. Sometimes I have questions or want to do the job a certain way, but Action is only 1 of 2 shops in 16 years I can blindly walk in and pay the bill without wondering if I was over charged!If you are NOT in the industry, like myself, I can imagine buying a new or rebuilt transmission may not be on your top-10 list of ways to blow money. Just remember if your truck quits on you it is probably not the mechanics fault! So far so good! Truck goes in for 2 week inspection in a week. Good people great service. Got on repair work very quickly and got it done! Now see if its fixed for good.

This place did not give me satisfaction. I went in just to check transmission and see what was happening with some rattling. They said before they could check that they had to replace the battery and oil... we said okaaaaaay and come to find out the problem had nothing to do with either of those things. After having to pressure them to tell us what was wrong with the car they told us it was Just engine mount and axle problem we found later by eyesight. They also said we could continue to drive on that no major problems but after researching and asking around mechanics were saying the opposite. So I paid for things I didn’t need and had to push to get answers to the things I needed while being treated like an idiot.

We have only had great service from this shop and are repeat customers! One time we used them we turned our car in for a complete transmission replacement the day I was induced into labor. No codes were found in my transmission during the diagnostic, but they advised me to buy a new transmission. I went to Hyundai and just a transmission flush was needed.

I own a unique street rod, a 1925 C-Cab with a Mopar 383 big block. This car was built to be a show car dedicated to the cure of cancer. I had problems with my transmission and brought it to Action Transmission. I asked Action Transmission for special arrangements due to the uniqueness of this car. It’s not the type of car that would just be dropped off and picked up a week later. They were more than happy to help. We made arrangements to have the car dropped off and locked away as they worked on it. I ended up purchasing a new 727 Torqueflight and it works fantastic. I’m more than happy to give these guys a great review. Maybe one day you’ll see my car, Godspeed, at a show and you can ask me about how awesome Action Transmission is good to work with

Their work only lasted a year before failing. They repaired my transmission and replaced the transmission coolant lines on my vehicle. After the repair, my son was driving for his homecoming dance when the vehicle failed and coolant squirted all over, leaving them stranded, dangerously limping off the freeway. I had the vehicle towed to another mechanic who diagnosed the issue, Transmission Leak(s) - Transmission cooler lines came apart on the customer. The cause is using bulk hose and clamps on the original pipes which do not have barbed fittings. Replacement of the 3 transmission cooler lines is needed. According to that mechanic, Action Transmission installed cheap wrong hose and clamps instead of hose and clamps designed for the original pipes. When I called Action Transmission to ask if the lines were covered in the warranty, the man on the phone avoided my question and raised his voice when I asked him to tell me what the warranty covers. He insisted he wouldnt tell me what the warranty covers without me bringing the vehicle into the shop. Until finally, the fifth time I asked him to tell me what the warranty covered did he say, well cover the parts and labor we did. But theres no way Id let them touch any of my vehicles again. I took my business elsewhere and wished him good luck with his.

I have had Action Transmission do my transmission work for my fleet since 2002, when my new 2001 Escape transmission went out in Ephraim, Utah. That Escape now has over 350,000 miles on it and, due to the regular transmission services, the transmission has not given me any problems since they installed a new one for us! They have serviced my Isuzu fleet trucks, my Trans am, and our Chevrolet and Ford fleet vehicles for many years! This company is amazing! I highly recommend them. They always treat me well and manage to fit me in to keep my business going. I travel from Wyoming to Provo because they do such a great job for me. These people here are awesome! Very pleasant experience at, of all places, a transmission repair shop. They came recommended from another trusted repair shop in town. They were able to fix my transmission pressure switch and even accepted the OEM part I brought in. They were prompt, fair, and even gave great lunch recommendations while I waited. Transmissions are complex and I’m sure they deal with ‘complex’ people (as noted by the extremely rare and aberrant negative review). However, they are delightful people and give impeccable service! They have to be very patient to deal with transmissions and the people who don’t understand how complex and problematic transmssions can be. I’m glad there is a place like this that deals with transmissions, when many of the other auto repair shops don’t even want to deal with it.

I feel like I don’t even need to give a review because there are already hundreds of positive reviews for Action Transmission! But I’ll add mine anyway because these guys are awesome! My car started having a couple issues with the transmission and I got a recommendation from my regular mechanic to check out Action. I read tons of fantastic reviews, and they all stood true with my experience there. My transmission ended up needing to be completely rebuilt, which is never pleasant to hear. But mike called me, was super friendly, and went through all my options. I needed a couple new mounts for the transmission and engine also, and he got me parts for a great deal and didn’t mark them up at all. I really can’t recommend this place enough! They truly value their customers like others have said. I will certainly be a returning customer should the need ever arise.

I can guarantee you won’t find a better place with more honest genuine people for transmission work! We had our truck towed over 60 miles just to be worked on by them, after taking it to several local shops that were almost $1100 more with no warranty. The staff is outstanding they are down to earth and honest. They went above and beyond to help us and find a solution that would work for us & they gave us several options -talked to us about the pros and cons and then let us make a decision. The turnaround time to replace our transmission wasn’t even two days! they are quick, efficient, reliable and do outstanding work! The only disappointment you will have is if you take your car somewhere else.

I always refer guys to this place. They did my clutch and rebuilt my wifes transmission. They do great work and and very friendly. Just keep in mind they they are busy and the jobs they do take a lot of man hours, so it might take a minute for the job to be done, but you can count on receiving quality. Also be sure to listen to their suggestions, Theyve done this a while and know what theyre talking about.

I took my 92 F-250 in because I need to replace the tires, but wanted to have someone check the clutch, transmission, drivetrain, etc before I pay for tires. Because the truck is almost 30 years old, I was expecting to have a long list of things that need fixing. I was incredibly impressed when Mike called me to tell me that they didnt see anything pressing, but recommended coming back in a few months to flush some fluids and do some maintenance after it gets a few more miles on it. He specifically talked about the clutch and transmission, and all of the things they checked. They gave me a lot of peace of mind. I will definitely be back! These guys are awesome!

I called Action Transmission to have a leak fixed. On the phone, I was given the impression that they would be very quick in turning my vehicle around. Of course, not knowing exactly what was the issue or what parts would be needed, this is always a wild card. On the phone I described the leak and where it was coming from. I also told them one of my back brakes was grinding and that Id like them to take care of that also. I dropped the my vehicle off in the afternoon, expecting to hear back after it was diagnosed. I called the next day, late morning to follow up, I was told almost verbatim what I had told them mechanic the day before. I wondered why didnt they call if theyd already looked at it. The mechanic told me it was probably this or that and that hed have to take the pan off to check for debris. When I asked if they could fix it right away, I was given a less optimistic timeline than was I initially impressed with. I told them I needed the vehicle and that I would come and get it. When I went to get the vehicle, I was a little, (but not very) surprised that they wanted a diagnosis fee of $117. After reading the invoice, I asked what the diagnosis was. I was referred to the $179 transmission service (apparently dropping the pan to check for debris is not included in the diagnosing fee) and $3500 new transmission line items. So I asked the receptionist if this was saying I needed a new transmission and she affirmed that is was pretty worn out. This was news to me since it had never shifted badly. The mechanic then asked what the problem was, having just come into the room. I asked for an explanation of the invoice. In the notes, I described that the transmission was leaking and the brakes were grinding. I said I didnt see any new information or a an actual price for what the repairs or parts would be. There was an estimate of $800 based on possible or likely causes. This was of course contingent on further diagnosis. When I asked what I was paying for the I was given a the if you dont think our time is worth anything line. And The keys are in it. Its an early Christmas present. Basically, when I called them out on what work was actually done, they really didnt have a valid response as to what I gained from bringing my vehicle to them. I did not pay and took my vehicle.On a somewhat strange and disturbing note- as I was driving home, I noticed a donation receipt from Deseret Industries. When I looked at it, it was dated 9/2020 and the address was for a Provo DI. I havent been to a DI in years and Ive never been to the one on the receipt. So, in addition to not taking any effort to actually diagnose my vehicle, someone took the liberty of filling it with their junk to take to the DI (its a 15 passenger van). Who does that? They seemed so nice over the phone.Edit-The response from Action Transmission claiming I said I forgot my wallet is an absolute lie. I was actually holding it in my hand, debating whether to offer to pay half. So, instead of owning their poor service, they have chosen to smear me personally. Its absolutely true I did not intend to pay because no actual service was performed. I just got off the phone with one of the guys there and right after claiming it would have been $500 to fix, he admitted they had no idea what was actually wrong with it or what it would need to be fixed or how much it would cost. So they get me in there, tell me one thing to get my car tied up and force me to have them fix it for 5x more. Case and point.They thought nothing of wasting my time and then charging money.As for the 6 quarts of fluid claim. HUGE LIE! I had just topped it off. If they put 6 quarts in it, 5 1/2 of them went on the shop floor because it would have been overflowing. Otherwise my transmission would have burned up on the way.

Customer service is nonexistent to the owner. When a customer has a problem, the owner always has to mention, and I quote, “I take pride in my work.” Because according to him, he never makes a mistake.Of course not every customer may be correct. However customer service should handle the problem in a professional manner. Unfortunately when I was there, the owner has gotten angry with two customers.The first one was on a call trying to avoid another customer’s warranty. The second customer, mentioned above, was also having his warranty trying to be avoided. The customer tried to explain what was happening but the owner outright refused to even check it out. He kept insulting the customers concern about his vehicle and even his own occupation.The other reviews on this are almost all positive, it’s great!But be advised, according to the owner, “I’m right, you’re wrong, I’m big, you’re small.”

Joe and his team took great care of me and my 6.0 powerstroke. I don’t think anyone feels good going in for a service and finding there’s more wrong than a fluid change. Joes was able to give me a few different options to rebuild or replace the transmission. Overall I ended up rebuilding it with heavy duty parts, a large transmission cooler and a deep transmission pan that holds 5 quarts more ATF and aids in the cooling process. Simply said, they built the transmission better than stock, eliminated the issues that plague the 5R110 and significantly increased the transmission cooling.
