They found an issue that another repair place couldn’t find; they believed me and took me seriously about my concern with my vehicle; the car sounds and runs much better now than before. Water pump and serpentine belt replaced — timely and efficient! Hold music/service says they provide transportation but its not guaranteed (depends on how busy they are).

I went to Clegg to get my engine checked out, and they gave me a $1100 estimate to replace all of my spark plugs and ignition coils. My husband and I were hesitant about the price, so got another estimate from a different auto shop—this other place gave us an estimate of $500 for the same problem, so we decided to go with them. They replaced all of my spark plugs and ignition coils for several hundred dollars less than what Clegg would have charged us, and my car has been working beautifully since. I would highly recommend seeking estimates from other places before committing to Clegg, since it seems that they charge much higher for parts and labor than is necessary.

The staff fit us in quickly to diagnose the issue. They called and updated with all the information and options as well as answering all my questions. They completed all the work quickly and had our car back to us in no time. Honest and great people! Would refer anyone here.

My daughter just got into town for school and has a problem with her car. This shop was the first on my Google search. They were unable to get to her until next week so they recommended another highly reputable shop with fair pricing. Thats incredible. She has an appointment tomorrow morning for repair. The service at Clegg Auto Repair was fabulous. The air conditioner went out and the service tech quoted for the repair and the part was ordered. He told us something just didn’t feel right about his diagnosis so he rechecked everything again prior to replacing the part and he determined it to be a much simpler and less expensive fix. We appreciate the honesty and integrity we experienced.

I felt very comfortable at Clegg, I never felt pressured into making repairs I wasn’t planning on. I told them what the problem was, they fixed it, and didn’t try to get me to fix 100 other little things. They were pretty fast too. Best experience at an auto shop I’ve ever had.

I took my car here 8/25/2020 to have them run diagnostics on my car to fix my AC. They took almost 2 days to run diagnostics before finding the problem. Ended up spending $250 just for them to tell me what was wrong with my car. The part they told me I needed was on a national back-order & was going to arrive when summer was over & when I wasnt going to need my AC so I decided not to get it fixed.Now the summer of 2021 I decided to get my AC fixed. I called Clegg & had them confirm the part I needed based off their diagnostics. Assuming they were correct (paid $250) I called Nissan & had them order the part for me since they could get it quicker. I also had Nissan install the part. Well... Nissan called me & said the part was installed & it didnt fix my AC. So now Im $1,400 down the hole ($250 false diagnostics, $850 part, $300 labor) due to a false diagnostics by Clegg.I ended up calling Clegg to see if their was anything they could do for me since I wasted $250 on a false diagnostics. Maybe a refund? Maybe a free diagnostic to see what the problem actually is? The guy on the phone said hed ask his Store Manager & will have him call me directly. 1 week goes by & no call. Figured.I then had Nissan run their own diagnostics (another $125) & their tech told me the part that actually needs to be fixed is only $130... To bad Clegg didnt get it right when I took it to them last year.Take your money elsewhere.

We were in town from Washington state and the water pump went out in my truck. Clegg got us in and took care of the problem in a timely manner. I had some other engine codes I asked them to check on. All it took was cleaning a sensor. They could have sold me on replacing other things, but were honest in what they did. I’d use them again! I just hope I don’t have to! 😀

I took my vehicle to Clegg because of a potential transmission leak. They tracked the leak down to find that it was not a transmission leak but a power steering leak. Clegg was very honest and their price was fair. I am extremely satisfied with Clegg Auto and would not hesitate to bring my vehicles back to them or recommend them to anyone.

These guys are absolute legends. They are quick, they are smart, they are honest, and they work hard. I had to wait a few days to get an appointment with them but it was absolutely worth it. My car had a unique problem that ended up taking a lot of their time, and in the end they earned little money from the solution. But all that mattered to them was having a satisfied customer, and they got it. Im coming back here as long as they exist, which I hope is for many years.

I’ve been to Clegg a number of times and they never disappoint. Recently, they diagnosed some issues in my old lemon that weren’t worth fixing. When I told Tim I was looking at buying a used car, he recommended a salesman who was great and Tim also recommended that I bring any car I was thinking of buying for a pre-purchase inspection. I ended up bringing by two cars and I’m so glad I did! I’m confident that the car I bought will last and I’m confident that the great people at Clegg will take care of any issues that arise.

Stopped in, just before closing, as we were passing through town and had a check engine light come on. They were swamped, but VERY a helpful. Tim offered to check the engine codes so we knew if it was safe to continue on our trip. He explained the issue was a non-concerning issue, cleared the codes and sent us on our way free of charge.What a great guy and great company.

The staff at Clegg are always respectful. They communicate clearly and care about their customers. I especially appreciate that I don’t have to wade through chauvinism with Clegg staff - they’ve always welcomed me and never made me feel uncomfortable, unlike many, many auto repair shops that I’ve used throughout the years.

Great experience. I got my power steering leak fixed. They were fair and upfront with me the whole time. Asked me before doing any repairs, and let me know how much a repair would cost beforehand. They go the extra mile - I dropped my car off with my wife and they gave her a fresh, small boquet of flowers because of womens appreciation month. Super nice!

Good service and quick to get the repair done. I went in for a thermostat replacement and was then charged 117 dollars for them to run a diagnostics and come back with the same result. They did good work but pretty pricey for their service.

I had a wonderful experience with Clegg auto. I wanted to get my tires balanced and an alignment. The balance and a rotation were included together and it was the cheapest quote I could find around town so I came here and I’m so glad I did. They did that quickly and said they would give me a free alignment inspection to make sure I actually needed one which I appreciated. They figured out that instead I had a loose strut mount that needed to be replaced. They said I could leave my car there the next day and they would find a time to do it because it was a safety concern. What fantastic customer service! They did it the next day and gave me the very good news that I didn’t even need to pay for the parts because they had close ties with the guy that supplied it for them and he just said they could have it. Everyone there was very willing to answer all of my questions and made sure I fully understood what needed to be done to my car. They clearly weren’t trying to take all of my money and just wanted to help me. They easily could have charged me for the alignment inspection, convinced me that I needed one, charged me for parts anyway and gotten almost $300 more out of me. They did none of that however and instead told me an alignment was not necessary. I’m definitely a new permanent customer of this place!

The guys here are awesome and o so honest. Got a text call a few days after my visit that they overcharged me with an apology that I didn’t think necessary, and a reimbursement. They helped me with everything I needed here. Good guys, honest guys.

Cleggs never disappoints. The manager Tim was very professional while still friendly and caring.My car need a new power steering pump and arms to my rear hatch. He got my car on for a diagnosis with in just a few days and was able to get all the repairs done by the end of the next day.When he found out I was taking it on a long out of state drive the next week he was open about what other maintenance he thought I should do right away and what could wait. I never felt pressured to do anything I didn’t want to do.I am in love with my car all over again and am excited to have many more safe adventures.

Edit after owner’s response: the whole point of this review is the diagnosis was not offered or recommended. ZERO places do you have recorded that I “declined diagnosis” because I didn’t. Again, my experience with your company was absolutely horrible.Dont trust this shop with your car. Mangement (Jason) was abrasive and escallated my frustrations when I atempted to have a reasonable conversation about the problems I had here over the last week. In the end I wasted 8 days and nearly $1000 to end up getting my car repaired elsewhere, and was insulted at the manner they spoke down to me. Tip for the shop- when someone is upset a little sympathy can go a long way, thats really all I wanted.My Honda Civic broke down and I needed to get it looked it. I called the shop and let them know that I was thinking my alternator was bad. A few hours after dropping the car off they called me and let me know that they were going replace it. My mistake was trusting them to diagnois it and replace what was needed. Not only after the fact was I informed that diagnosis is extra and if you dont ask for it we wont bring it up because we dont upsell.We went to the shop to take the car home after getting it repaired and it didnt start. When we asked the shop what was wrong, the technician said that because the alternator had been bad, the battery was probably dead. He charged it, told us to drive it around for 30 minutes, and we left. The car never started again.This is when Clegg Auto told us that they had not diagnosed the car at any point. They told us we had denied a diagnosis when in reality it hadnt been offered to us. We GLADLY would have paid for it.After we had accepted that we made a mistake that was likely unresolvable at this point, we still needed to get our car fixed. They diagnosed it and we were informed that the battery was bad. We called Clegg Auto to get a resolution. Both my wife and I were berated by a childish manager who claimed were were calling names (in response to us saying that we felt that the way we were being treated was dishonest) and blaming him for doing exactly what we asked him to do. We asked if there was anything that could be done compensation wise such as waving the diagnostic fee or maybe the labor fee for fixing our battery, but it fell on deaf ears. We were told by Jason that none of it was his fault and our frustrations were invalid. It was singlehandedly the worst effort at communicating with a company that I have ever had. I truly think that if we had been treated with respect, I would not be writing this review today.The point is, you dont go to the doctor telling them your leg hurts and expect them to cut off your leg without doing any tests. That doesnt make sense. Neither does replacing an alternator without checking to see if anything is even wrong with it. Had we been offered this service, we would not be having this problem today.

They charged me $130 to spend 30 minutes diagnosing it and then never called me back telling me when it was done so I could pick it up.

I got in so quickly and every person I talked with was so helpful. It was actually my parents car (who live in another state) that I was using and everyone at Clegg took the time to talk to my parents over the phone about the car and make sure they understood what was happening too. My car had a LOT to fix and they got it all done it two days. Amazing :)

They provided good detail about their procedures on the recipe for my records. They did a good job and were kind.

Gotta love these guys. Their techs are very knowledgeable, friendly, and turnaround time is quick. Their prices are fair, and I never feel like Im getting cheated. Our brakes were squeaking once, and we thought they were done for. We went in and had them take a look, and they told us the brakes were fine, and some squeaking was normal. They couldve easily taken our money for work that didnt need to be done, but didnt. If Clegg Auto doesnt change, they have a customer for life.

These guys are NOT like other mechanics. They wont make you feel scared about the status of your vehicle, they wont gut you with their charges for service, they wont charge you for an inspection if you get an oil change (which was only $45), and they wont man-splain to you if youre a woman (my wife went for us because I work during the day). Wow the customer service here is pretty terrible.We came here asking for a on the spot registration renewal in June. They did the emissions test then sent us on our way. I was confused why we didn’t receive be any registration card. So I called back the next day asking why we didn’t receive one. The employee on the line said I didn’t need one. I thought that was weird but figured these guys are the experts. This is my first car in Utah and I didn’t know any better than to not trust Clegg auto. Turns out we now have expired registration because they never completed the service!We were also never given an emissions certificate either. I called today to see if they could help us and they kept blaming us for not “asking for the renewal at the right time.” Haha! No I’m not kidding. When I booked my appointment I asked for on the spot renewal and new brakes. But because I didn’t ask for it a second time at a specific point in time, I wasn’t given it. Now I have to go to the DMV for who knows how long to get this taken care of because of their negligence. They refused to refund us.

The guys at Clegg’s are so understanding and kind, and were very patient with me after my car broke down, it was determined that it needed a new engine. I left the car there for over a week while trying to figure out what to do and they were so kind about it. They were honest with me about what my car needed and gave me a few suggestions as well. Cleggs has been consistently great! Ive had multiple different types of work done on multiple vehicles and they have always been super fair on price and transparent about what they did. I never felt like they were trying to coerce me into fixing things I didnt want to fix.

I went to get my emissions test and registration renewed and as always I procrastinated that task and they totally made space for me to get it done during the last hour and half of their work day. The most important thing was they were happy to do it even though they were already busy and that’s awesome bc I wouldn’t blame them at all if they were irritated with me. I’ll definitely use them again for other repairs and such. Great crew!

I needed some work done, and needed a good reliable place besides the dealership that wanted to charge me high rates. Clegg was definitely the best choice I could have made. Not only did they do it cheaper, but they did a quality job. I was quoted a price for the service, and just accepted the heavy price(which was still better than the dealership!), but they sought to lower it. I can trust them because if their honesty, they called me to let me know that it would be half the amount they had originally quoted. This is why I would recommend them, they are trustworthy and honest.

Clegg was great. They were straightforward and didn’t try to sell me on a million things like other auto places do. I went for an oil/lube and emissions but they were honest and said with my car’s age I didn’t need an emissions test until next year so they didn’t charge me for that. Would recommend

I was pleased to realize they could perform my annual Utah state registration (and not wait for the sticker) as well for no additional charge. My experience was pleasant and satisfying. I think this place is good overall, they are very good communicators. Be careful though, their prices are higher than some shops, be sure to shop around for big jobs. I only give four stars and note Puncuality because they were supposed to do a brake inspection in 30 minutes but it took an hour.

I brought my truck I had just bought to cleggs to have them put a new engine on it. Their quote came in at a great price so I chose these guys. I worked with Tim throughout the process. He kept me updated at least 2-3x a week and before doing anything else that was going to cost more he explained to me the pros and cons and let me make a choice and he waited for my approval before moving forward. After having experiences where there were hidden charges when the bill came it was very refreshing to have a transparent experience with cleggs. I would recommend these guys. I had an amazing experience.

Theyre the best auto shop Ive had the pleasure of using in Provo.

I had a different shop replace my fuel filter on my 7.3L ford. But all that other shop did is round out my fuel filter cap and leave me with that. Disappointed I called around and they said they could take a look at it. They were able to get me right in, examine the issue, and they got the old cap off in less than 2 minutes.They were professional in their demeanor, and clearly knew what they were doing. Very talented and professional mechanics. I would recommend trying them out for yourself if you have any car repair needs.

Go here. They had a full day already and I offered to leave my car there all day to see if they could get it in. They finished within an hour. 30 bucks. They are awesome. 100% recommend!

These guys are amazing.They are so obviously customer centered in so many ways, from the moment you walk in the door they really want to help you: they saved me a lot of money on a repair, they have very good prices otherwise, you can get emissions testing done and even get the stickers right there (and they dont charge extra for that), they give you a free drink while you wait, comfortable chairs to sit, and they are over the top friendly.They run an excellent business, its clear they want to.

These people are awesome! Some of the 1st honest mechanics Ive met in awhile! Ive been trying to find a good shop to go to in provo and these guys are honest! Ive been to a couple of other shops and they said my breaks and rotors needed to be replaced but were charging outrageous prices! These guys offered to do it for 325$ for the rear brakes and after the inspection( which is free btw) they said that my brakes were fine for the next 3 oil changes! Will be coming back!

I had some serious problems with my car and before doing the work, the mechanic I worked with was very honest and instead of making tons of money off me he pretty much told me to reconsider and that the car wasnt going to be worth the potential cost. I don’t know if their motto is under promise over deliver but every time I bring my car there they do. Whenever I compare prices or shop around they are always on the mark, if not less. It always sucks to spend extra money on a car but I always know they will take care of me.

They were so on top of it. Never had a mechanic experience like this. I described the problem over the phone, they diagnosed it right away, and had my car back to me the same day. They do a courtesy inspection, too, and did not try to upsell me on anything. Definitely coming back for everything.

I came here because of reviews, but so far all they have done is slowly drain my bank account. They dont do what they say they will, they dont fix the the problem and they just brushed me off when I question them about it. I thought they cost more because they where better, but I cant afford to keep paying them when they dont fix the problem. Their slogan of if we cant fix it its not broken is just a little misleading.Update. The owner (I assume) called me to complain about this review arguing that I was being unreasonable and hadnt given them a chance but theyve had my car in their shop 3 times for the same problem. He said I hadnt allowed them to do what they needed to, but I have given them permission to clean and do whatever they needed. They just didnt do it. I dont appreciate being argued with because they dont like getting a negative review. Very unprofessional.

I got an emissions test here. the test was $30 and they can register you on the spot for $70. Cleggs was supper helpful and professional. I was there for about 40 minutes in total. would definitely recommend.

I did a quick google search to find Clegg. I saw all the positive reviews and hoped for a simple, honest experience. I knew I needed brakes, that was my reason for going. On my way I took a look at my oil change sticker to make sure I didnt need one. I had 1200 miles before my next one. I looked at it just before I went. My cold air intake has been making a rattling noise so I mentioned that as well. . I dropped it off ready to get brakes. No problem. a couple hours later he calls and lets me know I need an engine diagnostic (over $100+) to diagnose the rattling. I didnt think I needed it because the rattling wasnt that, it was from the intake and it only happened over large bumps but I agreed to it anyway. He also specifically said there was no oil change sticker and I needed an oil change (my sticker was in the normal driver side spot on the windshield, not like you could miss it). I said no I checked the sticker I dont need it for another 1200 miles. I get the car back, along with a suggestion for a new engine ($6000) and a couple of other things that I may or may not need. The kicker was that I could tell the oil change sticker had been removed and replaced. They very obviously tried to screw me to get an oil change and when I told them I knew the mileage before my oil change they put the sticker back. This made me disbelieve everything else they had told me. If I do get a new engine it definitely wont be because they told me to. There was also a belt squeak when i picked it up that wasnt there. Luckily that went away. Good news is the brakes work fine. So thats good. I know I cant prove that they tried to deceive me, but Im pretty darn sure.

I worked with Tim while my truck was in for some major repairs at Clegg, and it was an excellent experience. Tim called me with updates multiple times throughout the process to keep me up to date on the progress, and explained everything to me very well when I had questions. At the end when I went in to get my vehicle, they went over the repairs and charges with me, and explained why everything that was done was needed. The pricing was extremely fair and they were all professional. I will continue to take all of my vehicles here with any issues.

I came in for my emissions and registration renewal. They did a quick job and even have complimentary drinks and ice cream bars while you wait. Then they took care of the registration process for me and printed the sticker right then and there. Highly recommended.

I came in to get a second opinion on my car. The first place I took it too couldnt find the problem so they just suggested I replace my whole VVT for about $1000. When I came in to these guys, they spent the extra time to find what was wrong, which was a small wire, and fixed it. My total cost was about $250. Thanks so much for all the help! This is my favorite shop I’ve ever taken any of my cars. I’d recommend them without any hesitation to anyone. They are honest, competent, and they take their time to explain issues with my car. During their complementary inspections while changing the oil they walked me through what they found so I knew they actually provided the inspection. They showed me potential areas of concern - like alignment and brakes that needed replaced soon, but not in a way that was a pushy upsale but because they cared about me and my car.I moved out of state so unfortunately can’t take my car there anymore, but they helped me save $400 in replacing my rear differential. I called them to ask for their advice and even though, I’m no longer their customer, they took their time to listen to my situation and gave me questions to ask and other recommendations that saved me money, helped me get better service, and made me more confident in the service I received. No pushing, super friendly, fast, would totally come back! I went in for the emissions exam on my car, they were so fast and also did a complimentary check of all my systems. I was expecting them to come up with this expensive list of things that I would *have* to fix, but they didn’t! They let me know that my car is in great shape and if I wanted to refill a couple of fluids they would, but it wasn’t necessary for the car’s function, and also recommended a couple of products that might help it run better, but they weren’t pushy at all! When I said “I can’t get that today, just the emissions.” They were super nice and moved forward with just that! Also, free ice cream and drink while you’re waiting is a bonus :)

I come to Cleggs because Im a local google guide and people apparently love my posts. Since all this fame has gotten to my head, I only shop at the best places now. Cleggs fits the bill. Theyre the best and youll never know cause youre indecisive looking at reviews while opportinities for top of the line service pass you by. Just go, you wont.

This is a follow up review. Ive had my Ford escape in three times+ for them to find an fix a leak thats been creating a burning smell. I finally gave up and took it somewhere else. It turns out that the work Clegg has done needs to be fixed again, and what Cleggs couldnt find in after having it three times, they found in an hour. How could Clegg miss a broken leaking radiator? And why dont they actually work on the things they say the will or do what they need too? I gave them permission to do what they needed to do but when I came back they only did one little thing and didnt do what they said they where going to. I came to Cleggs based on a family recommendation and because of reviews. Turns out family is also burned from their own problems with Cleggs.

I’ve been using Clegg Auto since I got my car a year ago and I couldn’t be happier with their service. I didn’t know a ton about cars at first but their team is always willing to answer any of my questions and go above and beyond to explain things to me so I can better understand and take care of my car. They work quickly and have really fair prices and I’m planning on going to them for as long as I’m in Provo!

These guys are like family! They are prompt and very helpful. No pressure to do anything unnecessary. Adam is my guy!

Great communication, they gave a system down and it works for them. I cant give it 5 stars for the sole purpose of when they communicate. You drop off your car and they call you around 2, regardless of the diagnosis or how long it takes to diagnose. I dont love that.
