Awesome experience. Alan (sp?) Really knows his stuff, and isnt out to nickel and dime you for all youre worth. Hes honest and upfront, and ended up charging me half of what Big O was going to charge me for a new radiator. When I picture a good mechanic, Alan is the perfect fit; professional, honest, fair, and most importantly, really knowledgeable and good at his trade. Would recommend to anybody.

Al is the most honest, friendly, and fair mechanic I know. He has always taken time to explain and show me the problem as well as how he fixed it. Al has also let me know when he doesnt recommend doing something yet and about how many more miles I can go. He looks for affordable and high quality solutions in his repairs. I have been having my vehicle repairs done with Alan for over 10 years now. He always provides great service at a fair price. About three years ago I started working in Salt Lake City where I live and I will still drive the distance to take all of my vehicles back to Alan because I can always trust the work will be done right, at a fair price by a dependable mechanic. If you happen to be very close to his shop you are a very fortunate person indeed!

I had a good experience here. He is experienced with cars and helped me check out and test drive a car that I was looking at buying before I bought it. He does a good job being clear and explaining things.

We have been taking all of our business and personal vehicles to Allen for about 5 years. Always honest, dependable, nice, etc. Only does the work that needs to be done and even then charges a really fair price. I have had quotes from other places-- I bring it in to Allen and it is a fraction of the price.

Fair Auto is where I take all of my vehicles for everything except tires. Allen is very honest and has treated me very well. He explains everything so you know why he is doing or recommending something. Its not often that you can find a fair, honest, and nice mechanic who can take care of you.

Been going to school in Provo for a while now, and Ive had my eye out for a solid mechanic ever since. Generally, I hate most mechanics and their crooked disposition to prey on the innocent, and I have a hard time trusting any of them.In my friend circle I am the car guy. That is, when peoples crap breaks down (and it happens A LOT) they come to me and pay me nothing to fix it for them. Sometimes its over my head, or Im just not in the mood, and I tell them to look elsewhere. I had a buddy whose engine was completely burned up (and I knew it was), but I went in with him to speak to Alan (owner) at fair auto solutions just to hear the guys perspective and possibly catch him in his lies.He literally outlined perfectly everything that was wrong with it, presented accurate and reasonable estimates of repair possibilities and prices, and told us we could keep the ruined vehicle on his lot as long as we needed at no extra charge. I was amazed... My buddy didnt speak English too well, and this guy could have absolutely robbed him, but he didnt. Even before I showed up as backup, he had a solid list already made.He instantly became my new go-to guy, and now when I am stumped (rarely), I call him just to solicit his opinion (at no charge). I have great confidence in his integrity and abilities. Recently sold a few cars right off his lot, and he was on my side giving me advice the whole time. He is a good old American working man, and his prices are excellent. If I was in the market for a mechanic, Id give him a shot.Just my two cents.

I was referred to Allen about 6 years ago, when I had a really tough situation with one of those Mazdas manufatured by Ford. He is honest, and sees value in explaining the diagnostic process to people so that they can take good care of their cars and make the best decisions based on price and general maintenance of their vehicles. Seriously, though, I had very little money to spend on repairs so he was good to let me know where I could save money and still take good care of the car. Give him all your business. We live up in Salt Lake County but if our car ever has issues, were taking it to Fair Auto.

Had my daughters car towed here because of wreck nearby. I should have ran away when Allen had it for a week and still was not sure what would be needed to repair all and was more intereseted in its trade in value with VW When i explained I was from out of town, he told me he wasnt set up to accept cc for a deposit to get a needed radiator. After wiring friend money and they payed cash $500 to start job, i had to wire a friend more money $2200 total to pick it up, and later than it had been promised. I drove into town 2 days later only to see DENTS in panels tbat were used for the repair job, clips in bumper engine plate missing, lights not fitting the panels they used to repair, and the lights themselves looked to be melted and to top it off I asked for an itemized receipt, Allen blacklined price off the buddies auto shopwork receipt and did not list all the items he said had to be fixed on the phone. What a Schister! DO NOT go to Fair AUTO.I should have known something wasnt good when the tow truck driver warned against going there, of course not being there in person, I went on close proxity and web rating. Big mistake. Does no one have integrity in service? Ithought in Utah county I would be treated honest and fair. Wrong!

I had gone in to have a new Transmission installed and that alone was a hassle. When he installed that he also put in a new Wheel Barring and fixed something else on my car without consulting me first and was charged an extra $200 for it. This is ILLEGAL but I was already fed up with how long everything else took I just swept it under the rug so I could have my car back.Yesterday I was driving home with my little sister in the car and while i was accelerating onto the freeway my car started swerving. I took it over to a different mechanic that my parents go to and when they looked at my car the Wheel Barring was loose and had was starting to fall apart.Not sure how that could have happened with a new Wheel Barring that was put in over a month ago but this incident was so scary! Not only did this put my life and the life of my young sister at risk but also everyone else that was on the road.The owner of this shop was a nice guy but the service I received was unsatisfying and has left a bad taste in my mouth. You could not pay me to go back after what I have experienced
