I recently went to River City Eye Care Hollywood for my first ever eye exam. Dr Provost was very thorough and explained the whole process. He prescribed glasses and the very friendly optometrists helped me pick out frames. The first time I wore my glasses, my eyes were not happy. I went back to the shop where Jake made some adjustments and explained that it might take a bit for my eyes to adjust to the new visual input. I was very happy with the level of service and care I received at RCE. I will definitely go back when needed.

Sharing my thoughts because the experience has stuck with me. I went in June of 2020 and had a good experience with everyone from start to finish. This was during covid times, so I did end up waiting up for my glasses for three months or so, but again I think covid contributed to that. The reason for my low rating is because I tried to make an appointment in fall of 2020 (October or November) for my husband and no one ever responded to my attempts. I tried calling them and leaving a voicemail with my info, writing them via their website, and writing to Kristen via email (whom I had a good experience with up until this last bit). I never heard back from anyone. It made my experience turn sour and I cannot recommend them because of the lack of professionalism you may experience.

Dr. Provost and the rest of the staff are my heroes! Ive always wanted to wear contacts but have been discouraged by other doctors. Dr. P had confidence that I could and picked out the perfect type for my eye shape. The training offered by the staff helped me pick it up and figure it out so quickly, I even shocked myself. My partner and I also had our routine exams there too. It went perfectly.As far as covid-19 goes: they are extremely cautious, sanitize EVERYTHING and have a great system to keep everyone safe. This was also at the Hollywood Location. 10/10, GO HERE!

I called in to see if they would repair a pair of glasses of mine (that I didnt buy there) and I came by and they were able to fix a very difficulty double-spring hinge and were so kind about it. While I was waiting, I tried on a bunch of really cute glasses and I definitely will be coming back for glasses! Dont sleep on this shop!!

Dr. Provost and the rest of the River City Eyecare team are always friendly and helpful. I have terrible vision and a difficult prescription and they go above and beyond to help me get affordable and functional contacts for my astigmatism. I started going here because their Hollywood office is conveniently located for me, but will definitely continue seeing Dr. Provost even if I leave the neighborhood.

Bought 3 pairs of glasses here last month. This is my first experience with buying prescription glasses through a private company rather than a big chain. Definitely more expensive but so well worth the difference in price!River City Eyecare staff is amazing! They have been willing to accommodate my needs every step of the way., are friendly and professional. There were several adjustments needed and they did their best to work with me for changes and upgrades.Im confident that they will be available to help me in the future if I need any adjustments or changes. And, since the frames are very high quality, (they carry some of the highest rated frames I saw online), they said it is likely I can reuse them for my next change of prescription. The big box store I used several years ago said I could not reuse the cheaper frames I bought there because the quality just did not hold up over several years.I recommend them very highly.

Very grateful for the help with my glasses. I just dropped in, and they were so nice! They fixed my glasses in no time. Highly recommend!

Superior service from the doctor and staff. Their taste & quality will always be appreciated in my neighborhood. They expedited my progessives knowing that I was leaving for travel. And they are fun!

Kind and professional staff. We followed Dr. Breedin from her previous practice because shes so friendly and positive, really good at putting you at ease. The frame selection is small as some have said, but its well chosen, not a lot of filler.

Replaced nose pieces for my glasses for no charge, even though I bought them elsewhere. Also provided cleaning and fun conversation.

Great staff and Dr. Provost was extremely nice and competent. The Hollywood location is on the small size, but its great. I highly recommend this place and Dr. Provost!

While they carry many of the same brands as other shops in town, its the knowledge of the staff that sets them apart. Three other places combined couldnt tell me what they were able to figure out in minutes. Great place.

I completely recommend River City Eyecare and Dr. Breeden for their professional service and knowledgeable staff. Not only do I need to see someone who is skilled and get the right prescription (considering I have a very difficult prescription to fill), but I really need a great honest connection with that doctor. Dr. Breeden provides that. I’ve been a customer since 2011. Also, It was really nice to see you again! Thank you for taking the time and going over my specific visual needs, and answering all my questions. These 4 1/2 years of going to River City Eyecare have really served me well. Really nice people, but smallish selection of frames. Other than that, great. They were quick, nice, and not overly expensive.

The most unprofessional Eye doctor in the city of Portland. Went in for an exam in October. Tried to order contacts 2 1/2 months later and they wanted to charge me 75$ on top of another 95$. For something that was done not even a few months ago. On top of that the optometrist sent me to a specialist for no reason. Which cost more money in the end. I will not be going back. Im heading to Costco as we speak.

The doctor was very informative and personable! Great experience.

Back when I first moved to Portland, I went to River City at their clackamas location after having a terrible appointment with a previous dr who gave me an incorrect prescription. I had seen River City Eyecare accross the street from my allergist, found out they were in my network, and they helped me out! Flash forward to this year, I finally moved back into the area again and found out that they opened the NE portland location near my work! They have always been so friendly and helpful. They make the process very smooth and fun! They helped provide input of what frames best suited me. I dont think ill ever stop going here! Wonderful staff!
