I wish I could give them 10 stars. The staff are wonderful. They have the best customer service focus I’ve ever experienced. Extremely helpful in selecting frames that are flattering and all are very caring.Dr Friberg is just excellent. Knowledgeable, patient, thoughtful, very informative. I literally can’t say enough good things about this practice.

Ive been to Uptown EyeCare twice and each time my experience has been exceptional. The communication and time with the assistant and doctor is comfortable and thorough. I appreciate the explanation of conditions and how to care for my eyes. Dr. Friberg has a knack for teaching you just what is going on and how to deal with your condition. She uses demonstrations, as well as, written instructions. She also has a good rapport with her staff and that is important for running a business well.

I had to switch optometrists due to insurance, but I ended up so grateful that I did! Dr. Friberg was great to work with, and helped find me the right prescription. The staff there was very helpful, and took time to be purposeful and attentive to detail. Thank you so much!!

I have been seeing Dr. Friberg for 12 years now. She performed my pre-and post op for my Lasik surgery 10 years ago and I continue to see her annually for my eye health and any changes that age brings. She is also our family eye Dr for my partner and our two young children. She is exceptional with her communication, professionalism and she makes it a fun and informative experience for us all. I have been recommending Uptown for years and will continue to do so.

Dr. Friberg is amazing - shes super thorough, incredibly knowledgeable, and excited to share all the details. But aside from being a great eye doctor, shes also friendly and easy to talk to. Ive been wearing glasses/contacts for more than 25 years and Ive never had better service, from both the doctor and the other staff. I highly recommend Uptown Eye Care!

The entire staff at uptown eyecare is incredible. From the check in all the way to leaving is a fantastic feeling of care. One of the only times Ive actually looked forward to coming back to a doctors office!

I dont think Ive reviewed a medical provider before, but this place deserves it. Ive never had a more stress free and pleasant experience than with Dr. Friberg and Morgan. I was in and out pretty quickly and they take every pandemic precaution seriously - even wiping down my health insurance and credit cards afterwards. There werent more than 3-4 people in the office the entire time.Definitely would recommend, especially if youre new to Portland and looking for a great place to get your annual eye exam. I dont think Ive ever thought Id look forward to my next exam, but thats the thought I left the office with. Thank you both!

Ive been a customer of Uptown Optical since 2014, and would not even consider going anywhere else. They are the best in the business as far as Im concerned. They excel not only on the examination side but are excellent at helping me choose the right pair of frames. They are also very helpful on follow-up visits for adjustments, cleaning, etc. If I had to buy 100 more pairs of glasses in my lifetime (and given my tendency to break or lose glasses, its not impossible), I would buy every single one of them at Uptown Optical.

I visited for the first time today for a check-up and expecting to get glasses. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and all of the staff. The medical assistant, eye doc, and the optician were all very helpful and great about explaining why certain things mattered or what they were doing. Everyone was very friendly. I appreciated a supply of locally made frames, too.

Worst experience of my life with a doctors office of any type. Heres my experience so you all can hopefully avoid the same scenario.Called to make an appointment on a Tuesday for Thursday. An hour later the staff call back and confirm my appointment (forgetting we had just talked) and reconfirm the details and verify their 48 hour cancellation policy. No biggie I need my eyes fixed.Thursday morning 9am, 5 hours before my appointment. So sorry we need to cancel. Next opening? Next Thursday... great. Set it up, if thats the best we can do. Now I asked about that 48 hour policy and if the $35 charge that Id have gotten if I was sick could be applied to my bill given the Dr is now sick and cannot make our appointment.Their staff said they were unsure and would check with the doctor. Now its Saturday, the Dr just called me and canceled the appointment saying that me asking about that discount was a red flag and would be refusing service. Didnt realize asking for equal treatment was a warning sign. I want a Dr that cares about their patients health and time. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I personally see that $35 cheapness as a big red flag.

Dr. Friberg is super thorough and knowledgeable. I came into her office super flustered with my contact lenses and looking at options to get me glasses free. I was already wearing daily contacts and my eyes were super dry and the lenses always felt uncomfortable. I was introduced to CRT lenses by Dr. Friberg and they are amazing! I had no idea there was a type of contact lens you wear to sleep and in the mornings upon removal you are able to see. I am a few weeks into this and I am SUPER pleased. I am now glasses and contact lens free in the daytime since the CRT lenses work their magic while I sleep. I am very pleased with my experience at Uptown EyeCare. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They genuinely care about their patients. Best eye clinic ever!

I hadnt been to see an eye doctor in quite some time and trying to find one that was open the hours I needed was proving to be difficult. Luckily I found Uptown EyeCare online. I have to say this business has the friendliest, most professional staff imaginable. Dr Friberg is extremely nice and explained my eye condition to me very clearly.
