Great service. Reliable and dependable. Never had a problem with going here for several years. Friendly people too.
Took The time to troubleshoot my Jetta with random issues held The car a week until it finally broke on them
Good service been there twice. Once for breaks and again for shocks. Drove the whole way to Louisiana. I put my trust in them and I hope you would too.
German Motor Works is the best German mechanic that Ive found in Pittsburgh or anywhere surrounding. Nathan knows his stuff about BMWs and other German cars (spoke about an Audi and Benz in the shop at the time). I needed front and rear brakes for my BMW, use German Motor Works during both occasions because I replaced the fronts and rears at separate times, and had them flush the brake system when they did the rears. The friendly and knowledgeable Service Advisor / Receptionist got me in the shop with short notice both times, got me out same-day both times, AND Nathan found some crud in my brake system reservoir, and advised me to have him take a look at it again when I need my next oil service. Im absolutely going back to German Motor Works there due to their efforts to go above and beyond to make sure that everythings correct with their work.
Garage is horrible with communication. Had a transmission installed. Got car back and was told there was air in the lines. That wasnt the case. They never refilled the powersteering fluid back in it. They claim a clip was missing from my hose that connects to the slave cylinder. If they would have told me I would have called Audi dealer and got 1. (Note.. The Audi dealer is a block away) then at pick up they tell me there were 2 more codes when they scanned my car. Yet again if I would have known I would have paid them to fix it. I guess they didnt want the job. My suggestion would be to go somewhere else. You may get your car back with more problems then when you dropped it off.
Always clean, fast, and quality service with these guys. Ive never had any issues. They never perform unnecessary work or overcharge. I highly recommend them!
Very helpful
I have a 1998 Mercedes and now that Ive been here I wouldnt trust anyone else in the city to work on it. Reasonably priced and they know exactly what theyre doing. Ive been taking my car here for a few years for anything from inspections to fixing mistakes made by other mechanics. Speedy and they have an adorable dog! 5 stars ❤️
Love the paintings in the lobby. Could spend a lot of time here looking. Work done on my VW was solid.
Fast, easy, no frills, cost effective, and honest: they didnt recommend any work that didnt actually need to be done.
Passed on fixing my Audi 2003 very disappointed
Before I came here, I brought the car into a local VW dealer with a bad clutch. To my credit, Im used to going to the dealer for warranty work but, to my dismay, the clutch doesnt fall under that umbrella (at least not the extended warranty offered on the fixed TDIs). After the crushing anxiety I felt after receiving the dealer quote started to dissipate, I called this place based solely on the premise that I noticed it on my frequent travels through the Strip and the name seemed appropriate. They ended up charging me almost 4 times LESS than the dealership quote and the work was great. Ill definitely be back, assuming the need arises (which it definitely will).
I wish I could be more positive about my experience with this repair shop but unfortunately my car continued doing precisely what it was doing when I took it in for repair; apparently it was all the result of a faulty oil change which this repair shop failed to recognize and ultimately I had to take it to the dealership and paid -less- than what they quoted me here. I know other people have had a great experiences but I felt this was worth sharing as well.
Great auto body shop for BMW, honest and professional service. terry was very helpful and accommodating when I told her that based on the estimate, the repair would be out of my budget. she was nice enough to even leave the keys in the glove compartment for me to be able to pick up the car over the busy holidays when the shop would be closed. a no frills shop that will give you professional service whether you give them business or not. will definitely go back to them for my future needs. thanks!
Best car repair shop of any type Ive come across for quality service, efficiency and price. Terry always takes the time to explain the problem. Will keep coming back and referring to others with German model vehicles.
A hidden gem if you own a foreign car. Fair price and great service.
If I could give a million stars, I would. Let me start by saying that Terry and Nate are incredible people. They do some amazing stuff, and they look out for you in a way that most places would not. I absolutely love this place, and I highly recommend it to anyone who understands the value of hard work. Take your car here, first!
They attempted to replace a valve cover and gasket on my bmw and failed to route the wires correctly. Also if the office manager is going to smoke weed can she do it outside of the office so I dont get a contact high.
My go-to mechanic for decades. Compassionate, affordable care & help with the hard decisions when my VWs pass the 10 year mark.
Sewickly BMW had my car for 6 days and were unable to find the simple problem with my car. They charged me $614 to replace parts that had already been replaced recently, but they insisted were the problem. I had to spend another $553 on a rental car while they screwed around for 6 days. When I picked up the car, it left me stranded on the way home from the dealership. I managed to get the car to German Motor Werks and they had it fixed in 3 hours. It was leaking coolant due to a $3 broken hose clamp. Repairs were less than $200. Sewickly wanted to charge me $3900 for a bunch of stuff totally unrelated to the actual, very simple, problem. How could they not find a simple coolant leak causing the car to overheat and shut down. Total incompetence! I will only take my BMW to German Motor Werks from now on. Honest and totally competent. Thank you!
Took my 2008 Audi A4 for timing belt, thermostat and clutch replacement, also oil change. They did everything in one and a half days!. I bought the parts myself online so I just paid for labor. Price was very reasonable given I dont drive a Chevy and they arent Pet Shop Boys. These are knowledgeable mechanics specialized in German engines, so you must pay for that, and again, the price was fair. I am very happy, its good to know we German cars owners have such a great shop in Pittsburgh, thanks to them I am keeping my Audi for many more years now!.And for those complaining about people at the shop being rude, wtf is wrong with you guys? Do you want your car fixed or you want to open an account at a Swiss Bank?.Yes, they didnt welcome me with coffee or kissed my a* to make business with them, if thats what you guys were expecting. But they were polite, both the lady at the front desk (I forgot her name) and Joe one of the mechanics when I asked him a few questions.I brought my Audi in with the parts, they serviced it in record time, I paid and left with a car running great. Thats all I wanted and they delivered as promised. Great shop, great people. Highly recommended. Would give them my car again with no hesitation.
We use Constantin Garage for routine inspections and repairs because it is so convenient to the universities but when we have more complex problems we take them here. German Motor Werks is the only place I take my Porsche and has done work on our S 320 we couldnt get done elsewhere. This garage is as good with high end German cars as the dealers.
These guys are the best. Quoted me a reasonable price, I could watch what they were doing from the break room. They scrapped off old rust and took the time to make sure everything was spic and span behind the tires. They took a no-nonsense approach.
Great staff work was quick.
Fast, consistent, competent, and honest service. I went there for a variety of work on my 03 GTI, paused for a few years after buying an 11 CPO GTI, and have since recently started using them again. I wouldnt take my VW anywhere else unless they suggested it.
The positive reviews for this place must have been for routine oil changes, because my experience has been nothing but abysmal. I took my Volkswagen in because the engine light was on. After a few days of no communication, I checked in on the car. They had decided that an electronic component in the car needed changed, but they did not know where that part should be installed. They told us to take it to a dealership and have them figure it out. Their lack of urgency, technical know how, and personal service was so pathetic that youre better off getting taken advantage of by the dealership. On my way to the dealership I noticed that the cars performance had changed for the worse (slowed acceleration, odd gear shifting). Unfortunately, the dealer was unable to run a diagnostic as the lovely German Werks people had reset my engine light in order to pretend as if they were competent. So not only was my problem unfixed, but I paid these goblins to put my car in even worse shape and then shrug carelessly when questioned. Please save yourself the time and money and take your car anywhere else.
Three years having my older BMW serviced here. Always a fair price. Avoided a major repair for me with a much less expensive alternative that worked very well. Contrary to what some others posted, they are polite.
I took my GTI here for the past five years until I sold it, and would be taking my new car here if its maintenance wasnt comped by the dealership for the next few years.Theyre good to work with, are frank about what needs doing/not/is upcoming, and have always been super speedy on turning things around.Sorry to not see you guys for a few years!
Saved me a bunch of money compared to other places. Great work and quick
How do i leave negative stars? check the fox2detroit story. these guys are scammers - DO NOT USE.
These are true gear heads!! they know what they are talking about and never had a problem with them. To the woman to the front desk to the mechanics in the back. Awesome! BTW the garage is like something off of the speed channel
Ive had excellent work done there for 5 years on my BMW and Mini. Always timely, reasonably priced, and most importantly: competent work. They have done clutch, exhaust, suspension, engine, and inspection work for me; and never have I had an issue or a return visit.I recommend them to anyone who needs a good BMW mechanic. If you need a loaner car, a car wash, and a shoulder rub.....perhaps you should service your car at the dealer ;)
German Werks has been servicing our Audi A4 for the past five yearsExcellent customer service, quality workmanship and affordably pricedWould highly recommend them
Had a car inspection done took care of it right away done and a half a day no problems great service!
I deliver parts to the guys there great lady in the office also
Took care of my car quickly and efficiently. Great Service
Best place I’ve found in Pittsburgh to diagnose and fix any issues I’ve had with my Volkswagen!
Took my 2002 BMW 325xi in this morning to be quoted and diagnosed, they called me about an hour after dropping it off with every issue that needed to be fixed and a more than okay fair price as their quote so I gave them the okay to fix it, 4-5 hours go by and they call me up saying everything is fixed and I picked up my car and am more than happy with their service, PS parking could be better there but other than that no complaints I will continue to come here with any future services needed
I used to have my own foreign car repair shop years ago.these days, this is the only place i go with both of our familys audis.
Always reliable, quick, and looks out for their customers best interests. I just wish there was just a little bit more parking. :)
Excellent alternative to the dealership for BMW related work. Terry & Co. are great to deal with.
Experts in Volkswagen repair
I found the people to be very friendly. Furthermore, the bill was reasonable and service was quick. Would recommend.
I always take my Jetta there. They are GREAT! Reasonably priced, quick, honest, and friendly.
I dropped my car off for its scheduled appointment at 9 am and I received a phone call at 10 am saying it was finished! Great service, great people, and I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Been having my Porsche serviced here for years. Quality service reliable pricing.
Great shop and convenient location since I work downtown. Ive brought my cars here for service and inspections over the years. Ranging from my 86 Jetta Diesel, 96 GTI, 99 Cabrio, and 2009 GTI. They do quality work and treat your car as if it were their own.
They were able to help and did it faster and with a great price. I will be going back to them any of my car issues.
Mechanics you can trust to do the right thing and tell you exactly what you need.
Great knowledge of foreign cars, unbeatable prices. Been going here for years.
They know what they are doing
Efficient, down to earth, knowledgeable, reasonably priced.
Me and my bimmer go here for everything.
Not great
