In the middle of a road trip, we got a flat tire on the 76 and made it here on our spare. Despite having a parking lot full of cars to work on, Dan and Rob prioritized our situation since we were in a rush. Their prompt and professional attention got us back on the road within an hour, and we had a great conversation while he worked. We are so grateful! Highly recommend.

Used this place 2 years ago and it was great. This time, I just needed an oil change. I made an appointment online. The day of the appointment, Dan called me and told me that he made a mistake accepting that appointment because the mechanic doesnt start new work after 3pm. Whatever, it happens. Our rescheduled appointment time comes around. They have my car the entire day. Half an hour until close I still hadnt heard from anyone. I called in and Dan told me that they hadnt gotten to my car today even though it was just there for an oil change and they had it the whole day. I went back to pick it up and when I walk in, there is Bob Marley music blasting through the place so loudly that I cant hear what theyre saying to me. Dan says I gave you false information. He tells me that they did in fact do my oil change. The mechanic walks out and he asks him Hey, you worked on that car, didnt you? Dan didnt even know if my car had been worked on, despite telling me on the phone that it hadnt and in person that it had. So apparently the oil change was actually done. He discounted the service since it had been such a disaster. Then, he cant find my keys. Asks me if any of the 6 pairs on the table are mine. They werent. He tells me Dont worry. Ive never lost a set of keys. I.... just dont know where yours are at the moment. What?? So he leaves me with the blasting Bob Marley and comes back 10 minutes later with my keys in his hand. All he had to say was that They were where they were supposed to be, but I never look there because the keys are never where theyre supposed to be. I just want to get in my car and leave at this point, but Dan seems to feel bad and follows me out. He keeps asking me if I am capable of backing the car out onto the boulevard. Dan also tells me that he wants the mechanics to back them in so customers only have to pull out of the lot, but that his manager said no because it was too much of a liability for the company. I seriously cannot believe my interaction at this place. Would not recommend to anyone. Dan was the worst service manager that I have ever had taking my vehicle anywhere.

They had my car for 5 days to do an inspection and tire change. They lost my keys, lost track of my car (forgot why it was there and what it was scheduled for) and then the day I picked it up, the mechanic was slurring his words and claimed to be on a heavy duty medication. I am currently waiting in line behind 3 other people with similar problems. Im really nervous to pick up my car, I hope its all okay. I used to travel across town to go to this location because the mechanic was so helpful. I think he must have left, I cant believe the service has become this bad.

Horrible! They had my car the entire day Called me and said the tire was fixed ( I had a nail in it, simple plug) However, they LIED. They never fixed it. Just put air in the tire. I was out of town and driving home the next day. I wonder how many other people they take advantage of. Charles August would be rolling in his grave if he knew this!

On Tuesday, I used the online appointment request to schedule an oil change for 8am Friday. I dropped the car off with them as scheduled, didn’t hear from them all day, and they didn’t answer the phone. When we went back at 4:30, they said they were “not able to get to it today”. I feel for them, being understaffed. But the answer is to not accept the appointment, or tell me when I drop the car off that they couldn’t do it. It was an oil change, not a time consuming body repair or something.

My friend got a flat tire and brought her car here to be fixed. The worker had to call the car manufacturer for advice what to do, and ended up breaking off a piece of plastic from her car and simply telling us about it. I had to ask him to go find the piece to give it back to her. He started to hand her the wrong set of keys, then had to go find hers, even though they called and told her that her car was ready. Probably the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with. I would not recommend taking your car here.

Daniel is absolutely incredible, went above and beyond. Needed a cracked wheel + tire swapped, unfortunately parts not locally available, but he made phone calls across the country to try and sort out a solution. Truly exceptional service!

False advertising. Booked days in advance for “while you wait” oil change. When we arrived we were told that it will take longer, so we left it. Over 8 hours later the work was still not done. They seem overworked and I sympathize, but I suggest if they can’t do a job they shouldn’t say they can.

Professional. I used service to replaced tiers. Balancing includes (cash flow tiers & auto, on Penn ave dont do it). After a month I found small nail in one tier, come back to this guys and they fix. They didnt charge me, I was surprised. Talked a little bit with personal and find them experienced. They got equipment and tools for the services they provide. I recommended this place. The service at this location is exceptional!! The detail and care given to me by technician checking me in & the mechanic went above and beyond service Ive received anywhere else. I visited Pittsburgh from Philadelphia after getting work done in my hometown about a week earlier & ran into an issue on the drive up. This location was open early on a Saturday morning, scheduled me for an appointment within 2 hours, saw me right away, had a quick fix & gave me so much comfort heading back for my ride home. My friends from the area also needed work done to their car and I recommended them hands down, as I would to anyone else!! Wonderfully run business

They don’t keep many parts in house so repair times will take much longer than they tell you. I was told I’d receive a same day repair, while now it’s unknown how long it’ll actually take. You’ll mostly just hear excuses. I’m not the mechanic though so that’s not my problem 🤷‍♂️

Been here twice. The first time was a standard state inspection post-vehicle registration. I sat in the waiting room for an hour, and it was done. Price was a bit high ($80), but it was good work and taken care of quickly.Went back for an oil change a few months later. Now mind you - I have a 2013 Toyota Corolla and I barely drive it. I scheduled an appointment at the desk with a mechanic, came back a few days later, dropped off my car, and went for a walk. They called me as I was walking back to the shop, and I paid and left. I dropped my car off at home and took the bus to work after that.The following weekend, I got into my car to buy groceries and it wouldnt start. I thought it was the battery, so I called my insurance for roadside assistance, but when they checked the battery health it was fine. The diagnosis was that something had been messed up under the hood - perhaps something hadnt been put in place correctly after my last oil change. Roadside assistance messed around a bit under the hood, fixed my car, and it runs just fine now.But Ill never risk my car at Munro ever again.

In summary - they take too long for simple stuff, are a bit rude (although this common for mechanics), and did not do everything correctly. In detail - Went in for an oil change and tire change (I had the tires, just needed two of them replaced). Had a scheduled appointment, called in before to make sure they had free time, and it still took them a sweet 2 hours to complete. I asked them twice to please make sure all tire pressures are set correctly, as the pressures are different for the front and back tires. They always responded (a bit rudely) we will automatically set the tire pressure to what is labeled on the door. After they were done, the pressure on the front two tires were 3psi lower than what they should be, and the back two tires 8psi lower than what is on the door! This makes me question the oil change also, as they didnt even do a simple tire pressure correctly. Will not be going to this Monro again.

Moved to Pittsburgh recently before quarantine. Got a flat and needed an oil change, these guys were a block away so I went there. Got everything done, awesome. Two months later, during quarantine, I need an inspection. I had moved back to where I grew up. Took my car to a mechanic I have always trusted. He informed me my cars oil was pitch black and looked like it havent been changed in a long time. Didnt drive at all during quarantine. These guys Sold me an oil change they never did. Will never go back and will recommend no one go to this rip off of a garage.

Really trying to take advantage of you. Had a simple exhaust issue, gave me an insane estimate of $500. Do your own research and you can find places that will do any repair for half theirs.

Scammers, tried to make us replace a month old battery because of a dead cell took the battery to another place and it was completely fine and not the problem at all. If you dont know exactly what you need, dont go here.

I usually dont have time to wait for service but Im always able to drop my car off and its always done by the time I am ready to pick it up. Every time I call to schedule an appointment, even if they dont have the availability, they always accommodate me the best that they can.

Travis, who answered my call for a last-minute oil change yesterday, is hospitable and accommodating as a front desk attendant and knowledgeable as a mechanic. Kind service and good work are the rule, not the exception, for the team behind the scenes. It was a very speedy process because he took the time to do the work himself. He restored my faith in humanity !! I would highly suggest this establishment to anyone in the area. My first time visiting Monroe was to replace my battery. My car had died two blocks from the shop at my house and I didnt have the proper tools to remove the battery. The mechanic was very kind and allowed me to use his tools to remove the battery and replace it with a new one purchased from Monroe. He was very kind and helpful throughout the entire experience. 10/10 would return again

I always take my car here and the service is excellent! Rob is great and always accommodating. Prices are fair. Would highly recommend taking your car here, especially if you live in the Oakland area.

Want to start by saying don’t trust the google rating because they ask to review before completing service and offer a discount. Went in for inspection and an oil change and was failed for brakes. They said I needed both rear rotors and pads replaced and said it would be around 700$ to pass. After going through their charges I realized they were trying to double bill for labor time and did not trust them to complete the work. I decided to buy the parts and replace them myself and cost only 100$ and took 2 hours of work. Avoid going here at all costs.

I brought my car in to this shop hoping for an entirely new set of brakes. I took my car in at 4:48 pm. I believe the mechanics name was Josh who I worked with. He said he would have it done by 6:00 and by some miracle, he did! I was amazed at the service and he was so nice, which might not matter to some people but workers like that are what will keep a lot of folks coming back. Definitely did a fabulous job and very fast.

I’m giving this place 5 stars for honesty. After terrible service at Jiffy Lube which they made me wait for hours and then tried to overcharge me for work they didn’t do. I come here and they look at my breaks and tell me what I suspected that Jiffy was wrong on their assessment and I didn’t need the brake service they said I did. They didn’t charge me for the inspection either. I respect organizations with integrity so I will be coming here for all my car maintenance issues.

We were in Pittsburgh from Charleston, WV and our jeep started leaking oil pretty badly. We had no idea what we were going to do.. some people at the gas station pointed us to Monro auto. They got us right in, took care of us very quickly, and didnt charge us anything. The guy said he wanted us to be able to get back on the road towards home and wanted us to get there safely even after originally saying it would be at least two hours before he could even look at it. If we were back home, we would have been charged $50 just for someone to look at our vehicle.. seriously could not ask for better people or service. Highly recommend these people if youre in the area

Had an appointment at 10 am. Upon arrival, I was told that they moved my appointment (without telling me), but that they could squeeze me in. It then proceeded to take 8 hours for a simple inspection and tire patch. They were understaffed, and the staff they had were stressed, and while that can happen, no one was manning the front desk. and I was left screaming into the void for 10 minutes. The employee then sassed me, even though I have been the one to call and come in three times that day. The work is done, but there needs to be better management here, for sure.

The mechanics do hell of a good job but the management suffers a lot. Thats why Im giving it a two! They give you appointments while you think that its the time they will start attending your car. You then find our that it was only a drop off time in a first-come-first-serve system. Their time estimates do not match the reality. You are told that it will take no more than a couple of hours, while they wont even move your car for 4 hours. I have been charged more for a few times already. Inspections are turned back with a list of necessary repairs. You can also end up with unexpected charges. One time, I was having the steering rack fixed. When it came to the payment, I was charged with a new shock damper and I was not notified about that. Finally, every time I took my car there, I can pick it up at the end of the day. There has been no such incident where repairs/inspections were done in a timely manner. Overall, bad bad management.

These guys are pretty awesome, they put my car of the lift rotated tires, and I thought something much wrong was worse because the car was pulling.They easily could have taken advantage of me and didnt, and they didnt even charge me because they know Ill be back, Im a broke Pitt student who lives down the street and it was heavily appreciated.

Had a car inspection done, took 3 hours to do. I figured I would give them another shot because the location is close, second inspection took 5 hours! They failed my car for inspection and tried to sell me tires for $200 more than I could get somewhere else. Theyre not honest, they didnt even apologize for taking 5 hours for an inspection, definitely never going back.

Robert hooked me up a great deal on tires after my roommates ex-boyfriend slashed mine. Really great work, very quick. Love them!

BEWARE!! I went in to get a tire fixed and they tried to tell me that my brakes were completely rusted out. Little did they know, I had JUST gotten my brakes replaced, a brand new set. They tried to scare me and tell me that they strongly advised it and that it was dangerous. Took my car to get inspected and everything was fine. No problems, brakes were great.

I was mean mugged and yelled at like a child through the bay window by an employee this morning at 10:35 a.m. for parking on the side of the building, in front of the dumpster, which was the only spot available. The front line had cars parked every which way but straight and if you paid attention to how the cars were parked, you could easily fit 3 more sedans, instead of yelling at an existing customer who was trying to bring you business. I worked for Rick Weaver Buick in Erie for years, and I would never yell at a customer for parking in a spot, that they think the could, no matter how clueless they may appear.The built guy, with the black sweatshirt and shaved head has an anger problem for yelling through a window the way he did. Not sure if it was roid rage or just hatred because Im white, either way, Im not going to give you my hard earned money, and will tell my friends to go somewhere else, too.Seriously, all over a parking spot?

MUST READ: RUN FAR AND FAST FROM THIS SHOP:I previously had work done here with no issues...I took my car in today for my appt and asked them to replace the brakes on the front, and asked for a typical price. I was told $179 or so per axle. A tad overprice, but the location of this shop is walking distance from my apt., and during the winter months i would rather not work on my car outside on the street, so I was okay with this price.I received a call a few hours later, and the recommended work was brakes and rotors for all 4 tires...($950), new cv axle, as well as an alignment...total for the work would be around $1600.My car was recently aligned (within 4 months) and alignments are NOT AT ALL NECESSARY after Brake and rotor replacements.New BMW OEM brakes and rotors for my car are just under $400 retail, which means they were going to try to charge me 600 in labor for a job that should take them less than 2 hours...Regardless of this all, they could have slapped on 2 new brake pads on the front for an overpriced amount and I would have been satisfied. Instead, this attempt to extract more money from me lost all business and gained them this negative review.I have had brake lines put on by this shop previously and they did do a good job, but these are unacceptable and unethical business practices. FIND A LOCAL SHOP, stay away from these chains.

Needed a wheel hub assembly replaced on my SUV last year. They ended up charging me $1000 for the hub, axle, etc. Acted like they were doing me a favor only charging me $350 for the hub part instead of $500... The other front hub went bad a couple of months later.... I looked online at Rock Auto and found the same part they used for $120 plus shipping. Did the work myself. NEVER EVER EVER take your vehicle to them, especially for inspections. They tried to tell me that Id need new brake lines before inspection. Took that as the warning not to go back. I took my SUV to another mechanic for inspection... Passed with no mention to the brake lines.These guys are absolute crooks.
