Don’t come here if you want to be helped or have a nice shopping experience. I had a wonderful experience shopping at the Hermès Flagship on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris and hoped the experience in my hometown would be similar. It couldn’t have been more different unfortunately. I was not greeted when I entered the store, and when I stood around a counter trying to see an item I came to purchase I received no help. I even went up to an employee and said excuse me and they didn’t even acknowledge me. From the reviews it appears my experience in the Madison Ave store was not unique.

This is the second time in my life that I would review online. I’ve been many Hermes branches in many countries but this branch both men’s and womens’s have the WORST customer service ever! The staffs are all so rude and unprofessional. They can’t even talk nicely! Believe me, go other branches.

The sales associate, MARISSA, is unprofessional, unresponsive and has made shopping at Hermes an overall uncomfortable experience. I paid for a service that I will not receive due to her lack of communication and urgency in customer service and support. I paid for an item and had delivery issues that she refuse to address or help sort out, even though only she can make changes in managing deliveries . Terrible experience and will not be a customer anymore.

Ive never encountered such rude behavior from sales associates in any store over the past 5o years of my life. Its a shame for hermes to be following this sales tactic, for a lux brand to discriminate and differentiate based on looks is appalling. I felt like i was living the scene from Pretty Woman. They only cater to their own clients and clients they have a relationship with. Im sorry do I need to sleep with you or give you a kidney to get assisted? NO. i will take my money elsewhere. The SA need to realize at the end of the day, their salary is dependent on the consumer.

This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had. Every sales in this store are unprofessional, unresponsive and rude. I believe they will just ignore you unless you buy at least 5 items. I asked for my size of a loafer, the sales said it was sold out, however there was a pair of that same loafer of exactly my size lying on the shelf!!!!!! i was totally speechless, how could a sales like that still survive in this century. I doubt there is any professional service here.Plz go to other stores if you want to shop in Hermes.

Worst place ever. Do not buy from here. Bernice is so rude.1. I visited the hermes store twice and the staff never ever greet you2. When you ask a question on where something is, they just tell me to ask another staff. But the other staff also tells you to ask another staff and it just goes on and on. they just dont want to deal with you3. I asked if I could see a photo of this product that was sold out, and BERNICE told me to google it myself. I just couldnt believe what I heard. So rude wowDont ever buy from here. It was worth the trip to NYC to shop despite the fact that another flag store(Manhasset) is just 5 minutes drive from my work. This store has a wide range of items in different sizes and colors. I was assisted by Cindy who’s highly knowledgeable of the product I needed. BTW, this is my second time in just a week to purchase a loafer. Extremely glad. Will definitely come back again soon

A nightmare of a company that treats customers disgracefully. Will not accept returns, and dont even give you a reason for it - they just send it back to you! Then when you call them to find out what happened, well, good luck with that. I dont understand how they get away with it. Appalling, obnoxious, infuriating - take your pick. There are other nice brands with cute logos out there. Give them your money, these creeps dont deserve it.

However, after the treatment in the Men store in NY I will think twice before puchasing anything from Hermès.I was on holidays in NYC and wanted to buy a gift for my husband. The service in the store was horrible! I was with baby sleeping in the stroller and no one even helped me open the door! All the sales assistants were busy with their phones. Noone cared to help me, even when I asked! I left the store and went to the competitor.This is NOT the treatment we use to have in Hermès in Europe! It spoiled my whole long-term relation and experience I had with this brand!It was really unacceptable.

I just experienced the most embarrassing and traumatic moment of my entire hermenelic(term I call myself as Hermes and Chanel addict) life today, 8/14/2021.Why am I giving 5 star? Well, it so happened that the flag store people are very nice and accommodating, especially the lady Sales Associate who assisted me on my H belt purchase, and the two lovely male and female Sales Associates nearby where the incident happened and dear Mr. Louie, a young and dignified Sales Associate. The three of them who are in the Bags Section gave me the comfort that I needed during that ordeal and assurance that everything will be alright.The female sales associate who gave me that trauma, scolding me to the max, in all fairness and with sincerity, I applaud her for her vigilance despite of what happened.Story: I unknowingly and unmindfully “excavate” another clientele’s glorious Birkin 28 bag, which was sitting on a display glass stand along with some display bags, searching for its tag price.First when I saw it, I was shocked and at the same time in great awe, I thought to myself, “ Oh my Goood…..the flag store is displaying their Birkins?! Are they now selling their holy trinity here? Omggg, and they have caps too, for freebies, Omggg!!!”The most awesome feeling I had that moment,then the horrible truth happened as the lady sales associate suddenly cried out near me and start scolding me nonstop. I stood there, freezing with shock and disbelief. I tried to explain, I told her I thought the bag is on display etc.. but the lady associate kept on scolding me. Yes, her words and actions are just and right, but it is so hurting, and I am trying not to faint from embarrassment. One young lady was beside her, looking at me curiously. She’s a clientele and owner of said divine Birkin 28.I am so grateful to her because young as she is, she’s so dignified and did not make a fuss out of it. She was calm and gracious and just laughed about it. I apologized nonstop to her and she accepted it.Moral lesson: As per Louie the lovely Sales Associate says, “ next time, don’t touch, just ask.”

In love with the store and all the items at different level. Accessories and cosmetics at the first floor as you are being ushered in while waiting for your sales specialist to meet you. (Pandemic SOP). Those gorgeous bags in the ground floor definitely make decisions making tough. Going up to the 2nd floor are the ready to wear. Looking up from first floor youll love how the spiral stairs and glass ceiling makes this place looks like Guggenheim NYC. Definitely love shopping at Madison Ave Hermès and will be back for more! Cant wait to shop with my 🍊 fairy again!! Shes absolutely amazing and fun to be shopping with.

The sales representative on duty was not posted at the fragrances, when the security guard was able to flag her down she came over asking what size fragrance we were trying to buy, when we specifically asked to get a test spray of H24. We never said anything to her, or security about being interested in a purchase. The shopping experience in Hermés was absolutely terrible from the moment we walked in. Once she understood that we were interested in getting a smell of H24 there were no test blotters available at the counter. After finding some for us to test H24 and spraying the test blotters, the sales agent mysteriously disappeared, no where to be found when I was interested in testing more fragrances. We quickly decided to leave and head a few blocks over to Bergdorf Goodman. I just left them a glowing 5 star review, and as you can clearly see, the experience on Hermés deserves less than I am able to give for a rating. Poor service, and terrible attitude from the sales representative who decided not to do their job. I wouldnt return to this location again.

Beware of dealing with Luis Galan.He is extremely rude and ignored my husband when he came in for his appointment. Luis acted as if there was no appointment even though Luis himself confirmed the appointment via text a few days before. He then proceeded to pretend like my husband wasn’t there and went on chatting with other people.He didn’t even apologize!Is this how you deal with a customer that spends thousands of dollars on Hermes every time he visits?

I called the store and spoke with Terrance, first to check if an item was in stock and secondly to make an appointment to purchase the item in store. I was pleased to hear that the sandal was in stock, sizes 10.5 and 11. I notified him that I’ll be heading over on my lunch break since the store closed at 5pm. He asked when I’d like to come in I told him 1:30pm. I arrived on-time and was told that he was assisting another client and will be finishing up shortly. I proceeded up to the 4th floor to wait and before I knew it, it was 2:05. I decided to walk out because my time is valuable, and it’s rude to have someone wait for 35 minutes after their appointment. As I’m making my way out the store I hear my name, I turned around and it was Terrance. Long story short he only had one sandal and when I asked for the other he told me he didn’t have it. So why did I wait??? Y’all about disappointment.Terrance must ensure that he values customer’s time and also provide them with size runs requested as promised. My mom worked for Hermès for years and I just never thought I’d be treated this way.

Lemara doesn’t follow up on the orders that she placed for you, doesn’t respond to your inquiries & list goes on. Very bad attitude! I asked for a bag, at first my SA was nice about it but the color she offered wasn’t on my wishlist so I didn’t take it, and she told me I will have to wait over a year at least for the color that I asked for. Afterwards I asked for something else because I really wanted to get something, but the style I asked for was not in stock as well and she start giving me attitude by ignoring me, she just started doing her own thing and left me hanging, I was trying to talked to her, and she didn’t even looked at me ! Very disrespectful. By the way, I got the bag in the color that I wanted in another Hermès store with much better attitude and service!

Stephanie was an absolute pleasure to work with. The visit was by appointment only and I made sure to confirm one with Stephanie prior to arriving (there will be a wait if you do not make an appt). I told Stephanie what I was looking for and needed and she pulled those items so they were ready for me when I arrived. I later had to come back due to a sizing issue and again she had the items ready. Extremely efficient and easy to work with. Even though the store was always busy, Stephanie didn’t make me feel rushed when making selections. Highly recommended!

Called Hermes and they said “we sent it Fed Ex and that they contacted fed ex for an investigation and that fed ex did investigation saying delivered “. Case closed. But I never received it. A flagship store in New York City, this place is great. What is best about Hermès NYC is the people. This is one of my favorite Hermès stores in the world mainly because the service team is genuine, knowledgeable, and most importantly dont feel the need to exude that veneer of superiority and snootiness that tends to typify most other Hermès outlets. While it is true that the product sells itself, and that Hermès products are truly the height of craftsmanship with quality materials, there is absolutely no need to make a trip to Hermès any less inviting than it needs to be. The team at Hermès NYC have it just right, no fake exuberance, perfectly poised and professional and showing a genuine interest in your needs.

I wanted to buy a scarf in memory of my mom, who loved Hermes scarves. was nervous to go in here because of previous reviews about rude sales staff. We were greeted immediately by an associate who asked if he could help. I told him I was interested in a scarf and he led us right to the case and took out as many scarves as I wanted to see. He did not pressure me, in fact, just the opposite... he encouraged me to take my time and try on different scarves. I got a little emotional thinking about my mom but he was very understanding and it turned out to be a fun and meaningful experience. Plus I was kind of excited to see the scarf I picked was so new its not even on the website. If you want the absolute latest Hermes items, go here!

Hermes is my top luxury brand and fashion house rendering top luxury service. I was greeted with a warm greeting and welcome most instantly as soon as I stepped into the store. Incredibly poor service. DO NOT BUY Hermes band for Apple Watch.I bought a Hermes strap for an Apple watch online on the Apple Store. After a few uses, the watch stained from very little perspiration. Nowhere in the description online or elsewhere was it stated that the strap is not treated nor did Hermes or Apple disclose that the leather is so incredibly sensitive that a little perspiration would end up staining it beyond repair.On top of the extremely poor product quality and disclosure, I was given the run-around today from the Apple Store customer service to the Hermes 800 number to Hermes Madison store in NY and back to the Apple Store. All contacts I had today tried to distance themselves from accountability and referred me to yet another party. The sales representative at Hermes Madison essentially told me that they could not do anything for me and that “you need to go back to the Apple Store and try and get your money back. We are not responsible for this product”. Wow. Talk about abdicating responsibility for your brand!I am utterly surprised that Hermes will not stand by their product when it fails under normal use and when Hermes fails to disclose properly on its defective qualities.

Spare yourself the trouble and spend your $20,000 on 20,000 dollar menu items.In all seriousness, this location is beautiful and has an excellent selection, the only redeeming qualities. I went to this today to purchase the Hapi bracelet. I walked in and no one greeted me although there were plenty of salespeople standing around. I was able to find someone to help me with the bracelet. Turns out they were out of the size I needed. I asked if it could be ordered from another store. This option was not initially offered, just a frazzled salesperson telling me that they were cleaning up from after the holiday.I also went to get my watch band repaired. The lead time for the size and color is 6-8 months. I mentioned to the person that I was also looking for the Hapi bracelet but it was u available in this store. He suggested going across the street to the men’s store. This is where I purchased it. Also note that a woman was returning a necklace and was vocal about all the salespeople standing around not offering help.This is not the first time I went to Hermès and experience poor service. My last visit was to the store in Madrid and they were so incredibly professional. They made my purchase special. Even in Paris where it is extremely busy, you feel special.I really hope a manager reads this review. I save to buy myself something special each year and I felt that I would have been treated better at Nordstrom.

In Summary: Awful customer service, no return policyContext: Hermes puts out a special tie each year for Chinese New Year (that shows the new years zodiac animal chasing away the previous years animal). My wife buys me one every year.Situation: This year my wife is working in Beijing on secondment. I was going to visit her for Valentines Day and Chinese New Year. As she does every year, she ordered me the tie, but this time, placed the order online to be picked up in store (hopeful that the store would have it ready before I left to see her). Unfortunately, the store did not get the order ready before I left. No big deal, I thought, Ill just get it when I get back, or worst case, have them ship it to meComplication: I got back and, like most everyone that takes a vacation, was swamped at work playing catch-up. Naturally, picking up a tie took a back seat, to work. Unfortunately as well, the Hermes store has pretty unaccommodating hours of 10-6. Not much time passed before my wife got an email saying that the order had not been picked up and would be returned to the warehouse. Immediately thereafter, I get an angry email from my wife asking me why I had not yet picked up her gift to me.Result: Figuring, for $200+ for a tie I might expect a little customer service, I called the Hermes store and asked if they could hold the tie for me for a week or two more (allowing my work plate to clear), or, if they couldnt, to at least ship it to me. Unfortunately, both the store and the customer service phone rep were happy to point out that, no, they could not continue to hold the tie, nor could they ship it to me. I would have to pick it up immediately or it would be returned. It dumbfounded me that even if I paid the shipping and scanned them a copy of my drivers license, that they could still not ship it to me. After all, I am the person who was on the order as the designated pickup person, and, a combination of my drivers license, credit card info, and a delivery signature required, could more than assure my identity. Not wanting to upset my wife (its a gift after all ), I pushed around some client meetings and picked it up at the store, narrowly missing them sending it back to the warehouse.Conclusion: Thank you Hermes for making me choose between my work and my wife. Furthermore, thank you for informing me, that since it took so long to pick up the order, NO returns would be accepted and that you MIGHT accept an exchange, should the need arise. You truly do embody the delicate balance between ignorance and apathy.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience today at Hermes on Madison. I went in to buy a shawl and had superb help by Salon in selecting one. Then, Valentina repaired the one that I was wearing, due to a hem stitching problem that had opened up, while I waited. And the repairs were done in 20 minutes, on the spur of the moment, and all of it was done gratis! Thank you for taking such great care of me and my shawl. I have been an Hermes customer for over 30 years and have to say that the service in the Madison Avenue store is disappointing. Hermes should be ashamed of themselves. The staff are unbelievably arrogant. Nobody greets you when you walk in and when you try to get someones attention, they look straight through you. Oh, and by the way, they dont take returns - store credit only. Unbelievable in this day and age. I have bought my last Hermes tie.

Terrible service. The attendant was looking to rush me off. Because I asked him to assemble a bow tie..he couldnt do it and refused to get a colleague who could don it. What a shame that such iconic brand has such terrible service.

Do not shop here. Buy Hermes in Paris or at a department store. The brand is not omni-channel - products bought online and shipped to the store can not be returned in the store. The retail assistants are not helpful and perhaps have forgotten they work in customer service. I bought a pair of slippers online and for an in-store pick up. At the pick up, I informed the retail assistant they had marks on them but he said I had to return them by post because they were bought online so I couldnt give them back there. I returned them the following day. They receive it in a couple of days and then wait a whole month to tell me they cant accept the return because there are marks on them. Thank god for Chase.

As a customer for over 30 years, words cannot express how disappointed and frustrated i am with the service and communication.I have had the same planner for over 10 years now and they have no inserts for 2017. I was told they would order them and get back to me the next day....It has been two weeks and nothing!!! My Aunt has been waiting a year and finally gave up.They have always had this I Dont Care attitude but it has gotten to the point where customer service has suffered dramatically! This may be why the store is completely empty and the sales people are standing around with scarves wrapped around them in every possible fashion except as blindfolds which is what you would think they are using them for as they are blind to the fact that they need to step it up!That MAD AVE rent and huge staff and no customers is not a recipe for success!
