The process is simple and Carla walks you through it step by step. The most difficult part was selecting the color for the wide variety of options. Carlas attention to detail and customer service is second to none. My wife has received numerous compliments and weve proudly referred many to Carla. Carla made a few pieces for myself and a friend. All turned out exquisitely and her fitting is just perfect. Ive have many items custom made but Carls fit so far is by far the best.I love my leather pants most and I hope to be ordering more of her pieces in the future. For me I like custom work and she is top notch, wont find better IMO.If you have not done so, give her a try.

I still wear pieces that I got from Carla 20 years ago! If you are looking for leather clothing-from a bra to a jacket to the most beautifully fitted pants-this woman is your answer. She can do anything you want, and the craftsmanship is amazing (her applique!!!!). Wish i could get an entire wardrobe!!!!

A handful of years ago I commissioned Carla to make me a jacket, to replace a beloved one Id purchased many years prior from The Original Leather Store, formerly of West 4th Street in Greenwich Village. Not only was she a pleasure to do business with (as I met with her in her Midtown studio several times for progressive fittings), but in the end she created a garment that was exquisite - of materials, design, and construction, and which I intend to continue to wear for many years to come, while I proudly consider it a wholly New York product.

Carla is the most talented women in the leather business, as she has said, why kill the cow if your not going to make something fabulous She made a custom jacket for me at a very reasonable price and everywhere I went somebody was always commenting on it. It was so great it eventually got stolen! And leather will last forever so make the investment.

Excellent craftsmanship. I needed to remake a leather jacket that was ruined by a dry cleaner and Carla was able to remake the jacket and it looks better then the original. I highly recommend for anyone looking for custom leather pieces.

As a perfectionist, I was very impressed with Carlas drive to deliver a stunning finished product. She made three - yes, three - cotton muslins of the design, ensuring the fit was perfect. Only then did she create the final leather product.Bespoke leather work takes time for both parties, including fittings, alterations, and material selection. And CDB made the entire experience a pleasure. I highly recommended her for any custom leather work.

For over a year I had been looking for a specific leather jacket. I wanted something a little unusual by todays standards: a fitted longline jacket reminiscent of the 90s. Department stores all seemed to carry only those ubiquitous moto jackets that hang in every girls closet from New York to California. The few alternatives I found appeared cheap (very cheap), poorly constructed, and even worse fitting. It didnt take long for me to realize that I needed to have the piece custom made.Carlas entire process was extremely professional. I could tell from the very beginning she knew what she was doing. She was willing to spend the time with me to get the fit right - we went through three muslins - and the results were nothing short of perfect. Whats more, the quality of her work is simply impeccable. I have a background in art and design and tend to pay special attention to the way things are made, how little details are handled, how line and form work in harmony. Frankly, after meeting Carla and visiting her studio, I expected a very high level of work. My expectations were exceeded.Wearing this jacket is not like wearing any ordinary designer garment. It actually *feels* as if it were made just for me. Almost as if the jacket and I have a sort of shared identity, theres a relationship here that I simply do not have with anything else in my closet.Oh, and people notice the jacket - and comment on it - everywhere I go. Without question this is the best money I have ever spent on a garment (and not the most expensive, either). Carlas prices are very reasonable for the quality of her work. I see friends spend much more on garments that are ready to wear but fit less than perfectly, and after one season go completely unremembered.
