Terrible customer service, dishonest, and unsanitary.I am backing up the previous review stating that the owner is revising the story and being dishonest. Also, I noticed in other reviews the excuse of I never received your email in response to complaints, which was the response I received after sending my third message. I tried to be kind and understanding, but something is not right. Here is the initial email I sent:Hello,Ive sent two messages through your website and have not received a reply. I hope this one goes through. I received a gift delivery last Friday and inside the box were several little plastic cups that appeared to be half eaten/half full cups of frosting and sprinkles. The contents of the cups appeared to have been scooped out and some of it melted and coated everything in the box, leaving a sticky, dusty film inside the box and covering all of the cookie packages. A few of the cups were half full of frosting or whatever it was, and were stacked inside one another as if they were somebodys garbage. I have attached pictures of the cups and inside of the box. As you can see, its really unappetizing and Im hesitant to eat anything that came in the box because of this, which is a shame because my friends spent $145 on cookies. Please let me know how this can be fixed. It is true, as the owner said, that I froze the cookies. However, the frosting cups appeared to be somebodys garbage and the owner kept insisting that they must have just come open during shipping. There were several half full frosting cups stuck one inside the other. That doesnt happen during shipping. She kept insisting that they wouldnt have shipped anything like that, despite the photos indicating that they did, in fact, ship something like that. There was no apology, no concern that there were potentially used/dirty cups of frosting in my order.My friend was never refunded AND the owner never shipped the replacement frosting, which was her repeated and insistent resolution to this problem. Horrible, unprofessional handling of this situation.

If i could give them a zero i would. i ordered cookies for a friend and this is how the frosting arrived. and when she called, the person she spoke to argued with her about refunding my money or sending different cookies. he only offered to replace the frosting. terrible customer service.this owner revised her response (see screenshot of her original response). she originally called me karen - i did not know anything about her background. and she claimed she would give a refund. no refund was ever issued. she is engaging in revisionist history. i filed a complaint with my credit card and now she changes her story. better business bureau is next on my list. if you look closely at her responses, she lashes out, insults people and calls them names. she needs to re-examine her approach to customer service. perhaps spending more time on quality and less time on insults and lies is the first step.

These cookies are unlike any other Ive encountered. They are slightly crunchy on the exterior, and practically dough on the interior: the name gooey on the inside is more appropriate than Id realized until I took a bite. Thicker than Levain cookies. Extremely rich - - if you like your desserts only semi-sweet, you will not like it here.Bonus points for how the staff warmed my cookies in an oven before handing me them.Pictured: chocolate chip chunk, kinder bueno. (At least I thought the staff said kinder bueno. If Im reading the menu right, its called bueno bueno?)

If you’re not paying attention you may walk or ride right by this place and not know it was there. As I was standing outside a young lady said she’s been living up the street for 6 years and never knew that such delicious, yummy for your yummy cookies were right there. I’m eating a chocolate chip cookie that’s literally as thick as my finger, and it’s really good. And yes it’s warm and gooey on the inside. If I had some cold milk, I would’ve eaten two or three.

Absolutely incredible cookies. They are both super creative but also very very good. The Dunkaroo cookie Incorporated the cookies themselves as well as the icing. And theyre just slightly undercooked to be exactly what the name states, gooey on the inside!

Stopped in here for my kids. I don’t normally go for cookies, but these were INCREDIBLE!!

Delicious...really crunchy on the outside and gooey cookie dough inside. I got the birthday cake which has white chocolate in it. I like it as its mild. Also got the chocolate chip. Really rich cookies. $5. per cookie. Just be careful when you go in, there a couple of areas that could be a trip hazard.

One of the best cookies in the city! Note they do not have a store front, but are still easy to find. Just look for the sign and go inside. I had to go back and get another cookie because they were so good. I would definitely recommend this spot!

Kinda disappointed, paid $26 for 12 very tiny cookies when the picture online showed much larger cookies. They were pretty good but I can’t help but feel a bit ripped off.

The cookies live up to its name! They truly are gooey on the inside. Each bite of our Dunkaroo cookie was packed with white chocolate. There were teddy grahams on top and a lot of frosting. I LOVE sweets but I have to admit, this cookie was incredibly sweet. I had to share it. It would’ve been too much to finish by myself. it was steaming hot so who wouldnt want a bite of warm cookie on a cold night? They have late business hours so do pay attention to that if you wanted to visit.

I received some of these cookies for Christmas through Goldbelly. The shipping and packaging was great but the cookies were terrible. Im talking about taste. They come par baked so if you see any reviews of people saying they ate them before baking them and loved the taste...they are lying...We baked them according to the directions. The chocolate caramel coffee one had literally no carmel in it. It tasted weird. Didnt have much chocolate flavor unless you got a bite of a chocolate chip. The peanut butter chocolate one also tasted funky. It had that weird fake peanut butter taste that some cookies have. Like they skimp on using good quality peanut butter. We also received birthday cake and dunkaroo.... both tasted the same...I just have to say, Im super disappointed in the flavor of these cookies and feel bad that my family member spent so much on them.

Ordered from goldbelly and tbh they were so good i didnt even have to heat them up but doing that does make it an even more amazing experience! Will be ordering again!

These were an impulse purchase for me off of goldbelly, and I am so glad I did it! I love the unique cookie flavors and names. Perfect ratios of ingredients in each cookie. Soooooo goood!In the package, it says warm them on 350 degrees for 5-7 minutes. I warmed mine to an internal temperature of 160 degrees (checking with a meat thermometer, haha), and that took ~14 minutes, which was perfect. I’d recommend longer than what is recommended. ❤️

Very hard to find in the night time, especially if not from the area. If approaching on same side of street, it is an obstructed view beforehand by construction, ongoing traffic, pedestrians, metal poles... I drove past it two times until I finally noticed the plastic sign towards the floor/ground level. It was extremely hard to read from the street while in motion. Next, when I arrived there was an unexpected drop I didn’t notice and almost fell coming through the second door, no sign or anything saying “watch your step.” It smelled delicious in there but the aesthetics were not as pleasing, a lot of space for the back portion and in the front one little heated display case on the side of counter. I wasn’t impressed. The cookies were okay, it reminded me of warm cookie dough not fully cooked in the oven. $5 per cookie, starting at a basic chocolate chip and increasing with other options... I should’ve probably gotten an entire batch from grocery store for that price. Lastly, the customer service was not the best, they seemed to be agitated and overwhelmed/overworked, which was awkward to stand around waiting for a cookie from unfriendly, unsmiling, shouting orders and seemingly looking tired men (guessing from bloodshot-esque eyes.)

This place is easy to miss, in the basement of this building near a lot of construction but if you find it, your in for a treat! These are the most underrated cookies in New York! The birthday cake cookie is up there with the top cookies at Levaine, served warm with its creamy inside, it’s a top 3 New York cookie. The chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies are good as well but the birthday cake takes the cake!

The cookies were worth the price, but you know what was better than the cookies? The employee who served them, as a Texan who got the chance to explore New York, the vibe the people give off isn’t very friendly. But this guy was extremely nice and gave us the best customer service that made me feel at home. He wasn’t even Texan, I’m unsure where he was from, but he had a very nice European? Accent, regardless he was amazing and I hope everyone who goes there gets to meet him and eat these delicious cookies.I got the peanut butter crunch cookies. The best.

If 0 stars was an option, that would actually be more accurate. I waited 3 weeks for the peanut butter gooey on the inside cookies I ordered. They were neither peanut butter nor gooey....more consistent with sand. Could not be more disappointed.

I absolutely love sweets, but these were too sweet even for me. I gave them a try multiple times and each gave me a stomach ache after only a few bites. Too rich, too sweet, not my favorite.

Worst over-priced cookies I have ever had. There are a very few amount of chocolate chips inside the cookie, mostly you are eating the dough only. The dough also smells and tastes like its not well cooked. The taste is ridiculous and the cookies are wayyyyyyyy over-priced for $5. There are better cookies available for $4 a piece and less, that have a lot more chocolate chips/chunk inside and tastes like a chocolate chip cookie. Definitely never going back here to waste $5.

For the sake of honesty, I initially gave a pretty bad review of Gooey but I had to change it! It is an interesting location (a factory kitchen) but its NY and adds to the charm😋 The cookies though, #EVERYTHING! They stay well (unrefrigerated and wrapped well), I bought one of each kind I wanted and it took a while (over a week) to finish all of them. As a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur, this is one of the absolute best cookies Ive ever had. Several friends have been there since and love them as well!

Don‘t listen to the reviews saying that the place doesn’t exist, it is where Google says and even has posters outside. The entrance is down the stairs through the glass door. The cookies are extremely good, the consistency is -as the name suggests- gooey on the inside. We tried several different cookies and none of them was too sweet, they are just well made and will satisfy your cookie needs.The staff is very kind and helpful in describing the different types of cookies. I hope the shop sticks around for a long time.

I ordered these through Goldbelly so can’t comment on how the cookies are when you actually eat them fresh. I was pretty disappointed in the cookies I received in the mail. They looked decent but when I heated them up they were nothing like what I was expecting. The inside was not gooey at all, it was just a weirdly warm semi firm dough. It had very little flavor and was not pleasant to eat, I ended up throwing most of it in the garbage. I spent $40 on 6 cookies, would not purchase again (unless maybe it was fresh from the store). Goldbelly won’t let me leave a review so I am leaving one here with the hope it might help someone else who decides to have them shipped.

I am a Postmate courier .I had a delivery to pick up here, as soon as I walked in I knew by the aroma that there was something right happening here. I decided to purchase the lemon, ginger and coconut cookie.I was not disappointed. I will be back for more and am very interested in trying the chocolate chip.

Im sure the cookies here are good. I wish I could have had some. I stood outside for 15 min calling and trying the door. Nobody answered and the call went to voicemail every time, but I could see people inside baking them. Literally a tray of cookies going inside an oven. All the lights were on. I know I had the right place because it was the same place in all the pictures in the other reviews. Help, I want these cookies :-(

Delicious cookies. Dont let the nondescript location for you. I came to see what I could pick up fresh and was delighted by the still warm chocolate chip cookie that I purchased. Similar in style to Levain Bakery but I may prefer these more! The price may be a bit much but it is a lot of cookie.

I got there right at 6pm (when they open?), and had a “Cap’n Crunch peanut butter” cookie. The cookie was fresh and had hot melted peanut butter in the middle of it - which was yummy. But it also had Cap’n Crunch junk cereal in baked right in it throughout -which ruined the cookie. So I only ate about a fifth of it and threw it away.Maybe they just need to tone down the cool hipster ingredients and concentrate on what actually tastes good and is more natural.

The cookies are good, but surprisingly too much. My cookie was too gooey. Dont let that stop you if your purpose is to over-indulge, by all means, this is the place.

Not only do they contribute big time to the cupcakes overdosed, gluten free almost cult experiences in the New York Boroughs, they do so with panache, skill, and kindness.Had I not housed my chocolate chip cookie at Washington Square Park tonight Id have happily photographed for you the toothsome, chewy, sweet yet not cloyingly so, chocolate chipful and not overwhelmed by chocolate best cookie I have eaten in New York in a while.Truth.AND theyre open until 1am.AND theyre doing their part to keep awesome happening in a neighborhood that is falling victim (like every other one in the city and Bronx, youre next) to landlord power.AND they offer many different flavors of cookies so options abound.For all of this, I thank them.
