I really like this Australian coffee shop chain aka bluestone lane because I can have gluten free avocado toast with poached eggs which I love. They have indoor seating but they don’t offer table service and the food is served on plastic boxes (I wish they didn’t. Plates would have been better). The avocado toast had too much black pepper on it and in need for salt (which I have asked for ).
There was only one screen to order. The employees was doing the coffees and food for the costumers with out interrelate with the costumes. With this exception of calling by the name of the customer and leave the coffee in a table to go.The technology experience of this place is poor. The layout of the app its not user friendly so it make it the order slow and the line is huge not in a rush hour that does not makes any sense for a cafe in New York City! The avocado toast with Lots was good.Coffee was fine. The human experience in a cafe makes a big difference.
Great coffee and reasonable prices (at least compared to similar cafes in NYC). Food has some healthy options. Online order and pickup works well. Staff very friendly.
The coffee’s great but they’re constantly understaffed. 3 people handling the morning coffee rush is just not enough. This morning it took me HALF AN HOUR to order and receive a cold brew.
Cute place! Good lattes! Bathroom is clean.
Nice staff, amazing drink, had it finished just as I arrived. Couldn’t ask for anything better!
Wose experience ever. bad service. you can not take by your own cup lid but cachier without gloves covering anc touching your coffe cup.. how that better than my own hands?
Not only is the coffee fantastic, the place is extremely clean. Ordering is easy and the staff was friendly and accomodating.
Another great Australian style coffee outlet in the big apple. They use a different blend from the other purveyors we have sampled while here but its smooth and goes down well. This space has limited indoor seating but there is nearby seating outside.Youre looking at a bite sized menu or light breakfast with only a handful of options. Each are tasty but this isnt a filling lunch stop.Prices are slightly cheaper than some of their Australian style rivals. Be warned though the queue spikes in size quite rapidly (but thats also a ringing endorsement).4.5stars would brew again
One of my favourite brunch spots. Food is always delicious and service is fast
Disgusting sound system and too loud to enter. We almost got food but it was excruciating. Music sounded like electrostatic and they wouldnt turn it down. Needs serious attention. Also it was hip-hop? Wrong for the theme
Nice hot chocolate and salmon toast. I added the avocado spread which is good. I think they put too much lemon juice on it thou. Also this cafe is not so environmental-friendly that even when you dine in, the toast is packed in a box and the drink is served in paper cups. Even thou the box does look nice. Nonetheless its a nice cafe.
I stopped here yesterday for an afternoon pick me up- this spot is really cute! It’s got a fresh Australian vibe, and they played great music. There’s not a whole lot of seating and they don’t offer wifi, so I recommend grabbing coffee/ food to go. I had the golden latte and an almond goji berry ball- both were good!
Horrible service. We waited for 30 minutes for our coffee order to come, only to learn that the kiosk malfunctioned and our order had not gone through - after paying for it and getting a confirmation.
The best coffee Ive had in years. The food is also top-tier. Must try
We are in town for the weekend and love exploring new coffee shops. Brittany took our order and was so helpful and patient when we were asking too many questions. We didnt even realize the line had grown behind us, she never made us feel rushed. She recommended her favorite drink for me and it is amazing. Great little coffee shop to come to.
I visit their Bryant Park location for lunch and always amazed by their amazing staff and service. Always so welcoming and friendly with very fast service.
Lot of coffee places are over hyped and expensive. This place is neither and Ill be getting my coffee here when Im in the neighborhood.
This is my daily morning coffee spot, and it has been shortly after they opened about 2 years ago. I highly recommend because1) the coffee is great, 2) the team is nice and welcoming. I highly recommend asking for an iced caramel vanilla latte. Its not on the menu, but its THE BEST THING EVER.
Coffee was above average and there was always room to sit and linger. Nice staff and the food looked good too. Very nice, good portions. Sides of fruit were a good addition too!
This coffee shop is absolutely amazing every time with their coffee and service! I always drink coffee here because of the taste and the place is great too. They have lovely friendly and helpful staff too. Dont miss the opportunity to drink amazing coffee here. The best coffee in town!
One of my fav brand of coffee shop. But this location has no indoor seating.
We ordered two toasts and got additional salmon sandwich which was so nice, thank you! Toasts tasted so gooood and and sandwich was good, personally not really a fan of salmon served with bread. It was saturday morning, filling up w people as time goes by. Quite spacious and staffs were kind! Near to Bryant part!
Eh, it’s coffee. But I’m really not sure why the rating is so high. Got a iced mocha and it was a very normal mocha that gave me the caffeine I needed. Nothing I’d call going out if your way for.
Great coffee and great toats!
Great coffee, fresh avocado toast with fresh avocado 🥑
I wouldve given 4 stars because of the great tasting coffee, juice, and avo smash. However I have awarded 3 stars for the service for the following reasons:- I had ordered and paid for two 12 oz flat whites, 8 oz were made and the barista argued that I ordered 8 oz. They then relented after consulting a colleague and made me the 12 oz.- when ordering food and drink, its hard to know which counter to approach when your name is called.- the juices were overpriced at $9 for a small bottle.
Great Australian food and coffee!
Waitress was a stone cold non customer friendly robot who couldn’t even understand the Aussie dialect. After 40 minutes of waiting for 3 basic toast meals I questioned her on how long was the wait for our basic meals. She was so blank faced that she walked off without a reply to not even acknowledge a response. The “ must be “ manager then stepped in to apologize For the delay and refunded our money. It wasn’t about a refund. It was about service and customer satisfaction.Terrible first impression.I’m an Aussie from Melbourne and this place does not represent Melbourne in anyway. We received a third world welcome from the big apple.Total disaster.
Cheers to more customers in the future! This coffee shop was one of my favorite places to chill out right now.
Tastes ahmaizing!
Great spot, gluten free donuts wow.
The coffee shop itself is part arthouse, part small town coffee shop. They have coffee and some pastries and some limited breakfast items like quiche.
Better than average NYC coffee (a relatively low bar) but I was a bit disappointed in the food. I had the avocado toast. The bread had a texture as if it had been toasted hours earlier and the poached eggs was cold. Not terrible, but appears not to be made-to-order. Underwhelming at $11.
The worst service in my life.
The best flat white this side of the Pacific!
Reached there at 10.30 on a Monday morning. The guy at the counter was lovely.A shame he was followed by an unfriendly, cold waitress. I felt like I had to beg her for a smile. When I asked her for a plate to eat my sandwich I felt like she had revolvers instead of eyes. Really, really not good at all.Food was good though - but the place was super crowded with papers and plastics on the tables.Won’t be back.
A beautiful thing. Great coffee and fantastic avocado toast among other whole snacks. Credit card only transactions for speedy process (but could be even faster). Strongly recommended.
Nice to have a place to sit. They’re very fast to get you in and out of the line, which is great in the city.
Carlton and the staff totally took care of me when I came in with crutches. From the moment I walked in they took my order and told me to rest as I waited for my food. They then comped my bill and wished me a speedy recovery. Great food, amazing service - I cant wait to go back! Thanks again for a heartwarming experience.
Great ‘Aussie’ coffee, cashless though. Another place that prefer Apple Pay. I always have to drop in to a Bluestone when in NYC. Milk varieties available, good for dairy and gluten free options. Small place with a few healthy takeaway treats.
Really good breakfast place in nyc. They are fast and the avocado toast with feta cheese is to die for.
I went to try the Avocado toast but unfortunately when I got there (which was an hour before closing) they said they dont serve food anymore in preparation for closing. Why do you stop serving food ONE WHOLE HOUR before closing.. Its not an elaborate and time consuming meal to make either, avocado toast is considered a fast meal. I was really disappointed about that. The cappuccino was good though. The location is really small and if its not nice outside (weather wise) theres nowhere to sit really so its more of a to-go coffee spot if the weather doesnt allow for outside seating.
A good coffee was served up on my second visit, the first time seemed to miss the level of attention and care paid to running a good shot of espresso. The Vegemite on toast was very enjoyable with butter, and the staff allowed me to spread the Vegemite myself, providing a generous amount in a small espresso cup.
When you need a real coffee fix in NYC this is the place. Highly recommended for Aussies and Kiwis who have a higher standard of coffee strength. Nice avo smash toast. Friendly and efficient staff too.
Busy place but service was pretty quick. They dont accept cash. Got an iced chai tea latte and the avocado toast. With tip, it came to around $17. Both were delicious. Large, public area to sit outside.
Love Aussie style cafes. Bluestone is quality and you get what you expect. Its nothing special for a Cafe but its reliable.
Update: Because of construction in the GRACE plaza, this location is now on the north side of 43rd St.—One of the smaller pocket outposts, find this one in the GRACE building plaza on 43rd St. This location is NOT on 42nd. Go to the corner of 43rd and 6th, on the Southeast corner. The service here is good and energetic. Great outdoor seating for nice weather.
Stopped by today, Nate was so kind. Asked me how my day was. This level of service is great!
Thoroughly enjoyed my macchiato and avocado toast here. This is a really solid choice if youre in the Bryant Park area. Ill be returning.
Delicious coffee especially the chai latte I had! My husband had the flat white and he said it was very good. We also shared an espresso cookie that was awesome! Cute little place in a sweet location.
Hands down best one of the best mochas Ive ever had anywhere. Very generous selectection of gluten free cakes, which will be hard to beat elsewhere. Its very clean and staff are very friendly.
This place serves nice cofee. There is plenty of seating available outside. Its a nice place to hang out with your coffee on a pleasant day.
This place is close to my heart because it is an Australian coffee place but nevertheless their coffee and toast are really good.
Baristas were friendly and fast. Coffee was great!
Coffee is awesome. High quality. Worth the visit.
Good price for cold brew, but kinda dislike the paper straws, even though we all should be going eco-friendly. But, when youre sipping away with the top on, the straw starts to bend and leak/break in half.
My daughter Eliana worked here 1114 6th Avenue. And my younger daughter Ariana.
Easily beats Starbucks for flavor, bit tight in there, if they start allowing to order ahead they would be perfect
Excellent coffee. The Australians do it right, like the Italians. Get out of here with your drop coffee, espresso is where its at.
Worst customer service. I ask for a avocado toast and the empolyee said with an attitude “we dont have any toast, we close in 20 minutes.” I never asked what time they close. Also, the employee did my drink in an unwilling and hesitant way. Never going back to that location!
My second coffee experience in New YorkSimply great coffee!!! A little expensive but isn’t in New York. From my experience Coffee for Americans has been good old filtered (dip) coffee until Starbucks came along... and to be really honest Starbucks is ok but not great... Australia and New Zealand have been doing coffee well for years (the little coffee shop) and this reminds me of a coffee that you would get from either of those countries.I can’t fault Bluestone too much as it is simply very good.PS someone said to me that it was start by an Aussie or Kiwi and maybe that’s why it hit my pallet.I would recommend this place to anyone. ☕️☕️☕️
Great service, cool vibe.Incredible coffee and avocado toast.
As a coffee snob I have no choice but to review a little harder than I typically do. This place has a wonderful atmosphere - large glass windows in a small room allows for you to relax while people-watching in warmth. There were some cool coffee options such as Beet Coffee and other creative things, but I just ordered my standard breve. The breve was good, so I cannot complain there. The latte art was definitely made by a barista in training. My family ordered a cappuccino and a flat white - these two drinks were near indistinguishable, meaning that the technique used to make these drinks was off, so there are some docked points.I would go here again, but if the opportunity arose to try a different coffee shop I would.
Awesome coffee, properly Australian style. Avo Smash toast was excellent too. A little piece of home in the middle of NYC, loved it!
