Came here twice in 4 days for cookies! They have two types: chocolate chip and cranberry oatmeal. The cookies are large. The chocolate chip is soft and gooey on the inside almost like it was taken out of the oven right before it was done and left to finish on the counter. I mean this in a good way- the outside was crisp and the inside was oozing with chocolate. A truly quality cookie. The oatmeal cranberry was chunky and flavorful - just the right amount of spices
Love this place! Everyone is super friendly. Wonderful chocolate chip cookies! 10/10 recommend dunking your cookie in your coffee. Great environment! And also a wonderful spot to do work or read!
The chocolate chip cookie is just okay. For 4$—I am not really impressed. Price aside, I have had better. However the birthday cookies? INSANE. Literally why don’t they keep those year round? I came last week and man do I miss these cookies. Best cookies I’ve ever tried. I love the filling is inside and it’s moist, it’s everything a cookie should be and more. They deserve a standing ovation for that cookie. It’s a 5 star for that plus the service, they’re so kind. Definitely a good place to visit. I haven’t tried their other desserts but I would.
They earned every bit of these 5 stars. Amazing coffee and cookies.
This is my first time here in this coffee shop and I can say its worth trying. The service is very fast and this is a comfy place to study with outlets if you need to use a laptop. Its usually not crowded and there is a good menu if you wanna stay longer and eat here too. The workers are kind and attentive as well. I would come here again and recommend it to friends.
I’m an espresso lover and this place is some of the best espresso I’ve ever had with the best experience at a coffee bar. The people were helpful, friendly, and added much to my short time in the city. They made me feel like a regular after only 2 visits (in one day)! I would recommend Culture to anyone in the city.
If you want pure happiness, order an espresso with one of their freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Both are just divine, unique, classic, and the perfect refuge on any day in the city.
The establishment is more than just a coffee shop. It serves excellent coffee and pastries. The workers, the food, and the setting are all first-rate. Prices are also fair. On top of a tasty menu, they sell a range of delicious cocktails. The environment is bright and conducive to fruitful work. Strongly advised!
The coffee is gross, and it’s overpriced. Why are they charging a dollar more than average for something so undrinkable? I ordered the maple latte, and it tasted like diabetes in a cup—if I’d wanted sometime that nauseatingly sweet I’d have gone to Dunkin Donuts and got it for half the price. Also, there’s no where to sit.
Cookies truly are the best in the city. Why did you guys stop doing the bakers dozen? That 13th cookie was always a nice treat.
Love this place! Everyone is super friendly. Their cappuccinos are great and the cookies are SOO GOOD. 10/10 recommend dunking your cookie in your coffee. Great environment! And also a wonderful spot to do work or read!
My neighborhoods permanent Farmers Market is awesome! The fruit was positively stunning, as were the vegetables. Many of the products in this sector were in pristine condition. The food stall was very big. Specifically, the salad bar. This spot was also very simple to get to. Definitely a thumbs up!
Such a delicious latte!! The cookies are amazing. Worth the hype!
Great coffee, small minimal menu. That should be the standart around here. Simple and perfect
September 29,2021. This has to be the worst coffee shop that l ever been in..... I got a cappuccino and it was the worst I’ve ever tasted..... it was very bitter and it had a funny aftertaste. I mentioned it to the guy who made it and he said it could be the leaves or the beans I really thought he was going to remake me a fresh cup of coffee but he didn’t even offer.😡👎🏼
The first morning coffee was so great I just kept going back! The staff are lovely, the food is good and the location great - away from the tourists. Probably the best independent coffee shop we have been to.
Great latte and almond milk cappucino! Low key place with pastries and cookies.
I ordered a cup of mochaccino and a slice of chocolate cake yesterday. I was so surprised when it was served instantly by your team. I thanked her for being so courteous and quick to do her job. Youve surpassed my standards, guys! Thank you very much! Very highly recommended to everyone I know about! Until next time, man!
The rating is mostly for the cookie — they pulled a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies out of the oven when I walked in, and they live up to all the hype! A must get (with a coffee of course). Not much seating so go when it’s nice weather and take your cookie and coffee to Bryant Park if you actually want to sit.
I was on a business trip and checked online to see where to go for breakfast. This coffee shop seemed to be a good choice, and it was! Excellent breakfast, various choices, fresh ingredients, efficient service, and good coffee. The service was fast and efficient. I will definitely recommend this coffee shop!
As a Portlander, I was so happy to find Heart coffee in the city. Great coffee, great service!
Good service. Coffee was average tasting. Chai tea was ok.
One of the best spots in the city for cortados and macchiatos. The baristas know what theyre doing and pull consistently phenomenal shots.
I have to say, this coffee shop is the best and worth visiting. The place was nice, cozy, and very comfortable. The best part is that you can read their books for free. The place was really relaxing together with their friendly, accommodating, and helpful staff. I have been in this coffee shop for many years and I am always satisfied and amazed. Highly recommended!
Fantastic Place with mouth watering food. Seats were great and environment was very comfortable. Nice experience. 100% recommended.
This is the only coffee shop that I really enjoy visiting. The workers were so welcoming and the coffee prices were incredible. Wifi and lovely seating are available. It is a perfect coffee shop for new people to meet. This place is so awesome!
Great place to have a delicious and filling breakfast. Their menu is extensive and portion sizes are very generous. The staff is friendly and if you visit during the week it does not get too crowded.
Best oat milk flat white of my life. It was the best, and im from east london where theres now a hipster cafe on every corner, ive never tasted a flat white so deliciously creamy man. If you come nyc you need to come here and taste it. Its so good and im not even a fan of coffee, but this was so good.
The places atmosphere is good. The staff are friendly and supportive. We also have comfortable chairs. The place is also very dry, great customer service.
Decent espresso, but amazing chocolate chip cookies! Crunchy and chewy, a must! Staff was very gracious.
Youll always be free to stay here as long as you like. This place feels a little bit homier because of couches and chairs. I always love their double chocolate latte. The place is not too crowded and its great for studying. I really love also their song choice, very young, and trend. Its nice to chill and relax here with some dessert and hot or cold coffee.
Sustainability: ✅ paper and compostable straw options ✅ free non-dairy milk options ✅ seems to avoids waste by not over baking pastries towards the end of the day ✅ bring your own cup policy to reduce plastic waste ❌ non-compostable lids, cups, napkins ❌ no recycling or composting bins seen ❌ despite efforts they still generate lots of waste especially with individual baked goods bags and coffee stirrers ❌ sells bottle water ⚠️ I do not believe coffee is fair trade or organic.Drinks: cold brew and nitro coffees were strong but nothing special.Value: average price for New York.Service: friendly servers but average speed.Ambiance: small, not much seating which I believe contributes to using more disposable cups.If they were to go green a bit more, I would go back. Otherwise I could take it or leave it.
This place is worth all of the hype and then some. you dont want to miss the oatmeal cranberry cookie or the choc chip walnut of course. seriously delicious sweet treats and drinks with the best service in nyc. i most frequently run into johnny who is always happy to direct me to the best picks for the day, but everyone here provides speedy and friendly help. love this spot- a must visit!
This place was fantastic and delicious with so much food! A perfect spot for brunch with relaxed yet very comfortable seating indoors and outdoors.
Amazing latte, but the shining star is the chocolate chip cookie that I got. This is the best cookie Ive ever had. Its a substantial size, thick, filled with chocolate chips, but on top of it all, it was served WARM. From the case! Their case keeps the cookies a perfect temperature, like it had just been cooled from the oven just enough to eat. I wish I had taken a picture of it. Its the type of cookie with an exterior just crisp enough to hold in the amazing, gooey, butteriness of the rest of the cookie. You need this cookie in your life.
A very cool coffee. I will rank this as one of the best shops I have visited for espresso. A small, nice breakfast to start your day. It almost feels like home. Suggested!!
By the time we had sampled their coffee, we had to visit this coffee shop. They have cookies and bread slices as well. Their service has been commendable. The ideal spot to relax!
This is the best coffee in NYC I’ve had by a long shot. The cookies are also surprisingly delicious.
Great coffee, the chocolate chip cookies are very tasty esp when they are fresh. They tastes like grandmas chocolate chip cookies 🍪
I loved this shop ever! Thank you so much for the nice breakfast you brought to me. The coffee and foods were delicious and very good. Besides, the waitress that served my order was very friendly and nice. Also, the ambiance was nice and elegant. Thank you so much! Ill keep coming back for more!
A must-see coffee shop! I like to visit this shop because of the relaxing atmosphere of the place. It was so quiet, not too busy. The coffee they had was so delicious, not too heavy. The cookies they had were just as delicious as they were. The barista was so sweet and polite. They also had a decent internet connection.
It was truly an amazing shop, amazing food and coffee, and an incredible cause. Even if you were not in the neighborhood, its worth going out of your way to visit here. The waiter and their waitresses would serve you according to what you wanted. Besides, the place was worth taking a picture and stay in a matter of hours. Dont miss this shop!
The coffee at this coffee shop was good, and the veggie sandwich was amazing! These guys are passionate about their work. They refreshing choices that are done with panache make for a cool, yet non-stuck up journey. Look, if you love coffee and are currently in this city, you have to visit this coffee shop and try their coffee!
Two different people told me that the chocolate chip cookie is better then Levain chocolate chip cookies, so of course I had to try them. Went in on a Thursday afternoon around 3pm and it was buzzing. There was a short line but it moved quickly. There is some indoor seating but it’s not a good place to do work because is pretty loud and crowded. You pay first and receive your order. They do take credit card. It’s close to Bryant Park so you could certainly order some cookies ahead online and then enjoy them in the park. The cookies were very large and thinner than Levain’s. It’s very decadent and the middle is almost completely filled with chocolate. It’s crispy on the outside and chewy in the middle. It’s $3.50 a cookie which I thought was very reasonably priced. There’s coffee available as well and alternative milk options (including oat milk). Overall I really do like the cookies (they’re award winning!) and I really enjoyed how tasty they were.
Fantastic experience! I had the opportunity to stop at this downtown spot. The barista was exceptionally polite and enthusiastic about the coffee and suggested a specific blend for my half-caff requirements.
Great service! Good expresso! Plus they have Oat Milk!
The best cooky and Chai in town...
Extremely good flat whites. The ambiance is really good when it’s not during Corona-virus, but right now just having a coffee to go that’s this good to go is getting me through the lockdown. If you’re picky about your coffee and in midtown, Culture 36 won’t disappoint.
Coffee is under roasted, sour, runny and overpriced even for NYC. Also we took a macchiato. The waitress didnt manage to whip the milk. She noticed and still she put the milk in!
My chai tea was luke warm instead of hot.
Extremely good cookies and the coffee is pretty great too
I give this spot a thumbs up. the service here is above par. the bill was good for how much you get. if it wasnt far from my work i would come by more.
Excellent cookies and lattes!
I didn’t like it but everyone else did
If you are fussy about your coffee and like it done well this is the place for you. Im an Aussie and can not live without great espresso coffee. A few years back when I was in NYC and sick of drinking the same old Starbucks dish water I went in search of a good espresso style coffee. Ever since I found Culture Ive returned on every trip to NYC, I start every day here. Not only is their coffee amazing but they have some pretty great food too. Will be back again real soon!
The coffee is great, the workers are nice and there is a special vibe in each venue. Amazing environment, awesome Capuccino! Hell be back tomorrow. The coffee and the atmosphere are great and we strongly recommend it.
Really good espresso in a tiny little space. There are a few seats, but it makes more sense to get yours to go. The baked goods looked incredible, particularly the chocolate chunk cookie, but I’m on a diet, so.The espresso is nice and apparently rotates. Today was a company out of Portland that’s not Stumptown. There’s homemade vanilla syrup (yum!) and homemade maple syrup (didn’t have, for drinks not pancakes) available for 50 cents extra.Located at the corner of 38th and 6th, I imagine it gets really crowded sometimes, so be aware of that. But highly recommended.
