Ottomanelli Bros is arguably the best butcher shop in NYC, certainly a historical neighborhood staple. Dont be fooled by the no-frills appearance. From dry-aged beef to exotic meats, no matter what cut youre looking for, youll have a hard time finding finer quality or a more knowledgeable staff.

They added chicken liver spread to their menu. I no longer need to go cross town to Barney Greengrass for my fix. This is as good, maybe better. Hope its not just for holidays.

The woman who picks up the phone to take your order is really rude and sassy. And sometimes she just doesn’t give the instructions to the butchers and the cuts are really bad. And yet sometimes you can get lucky when the gentleman picks up the phone and I get very good cuts of meat. I just don’t like to wait there so I call ahead of time and go pick up the meat.

Growing up on the Upper East Side, my mother always came here to get dinner. The prepared foods are to die for, and the meat is fresh and amazing. Here I am many years later still coming all the way to the Upper East Side to get my dinner from Ottomanellis. Five stars all the way!

The steak is better than those in fancy restaurants. A hidden gem in UES. The staff are very helpful and teach you how to cook steak.

Simply the BEST!!! Ottomanellis quality meats are surpassed only by the friendly staff. Frankie and his team are, hands down, the best in the butcher business. And the shop is always sparkling clean!!!

Flank steak is a staple of cuban cuisine. It is not easy to get. This morning i placed an order with Ottomanelli and in less than two hours i received, among other things, the three largest flank steaks i have ever seen. So, so happy i have become a lover of this store.

Its great to know theres a place where they know their stuff. Its expensive, but the occasional red meat should be a great experience and thats what this place is for.

Affordable, fresh and healthy soup/food for takeout everyday. Love this place.

I don’t look at their prices. I know I’m getting quality. Amazing ham, the best flank steak I’ve ever grilled on my Weber kettle. Try the packaged pastas and Alfredo sauce. I love the Italian old school music playing on the sound system. Check out the brass pig in front of the butchery. I walk from Columbus Avenue across Manhattan to get their quality goods.

Absolutely the best ! That one star review must be fake. Everyone who works here are nothing but friendly. And their products are unbelievable. I just bought t bones for a Father’s Day bbq. Their steaks are just as good as the best steakhouses.

Amazing meats and friendly service. They were able to accommodate my rush order on a turkey when I couldnt find one anywhere else, and the quality of the bird was outstanding. Great place, highly recommend.

On Valentines Day I had to pick up some skirt steak and these guys waited for me as I was in a cab stuck in traffic. Despite the fact that I arrived 5 mins after closing time; they took great care of me and my Valentines Day dinner was saved. Great service - above and beyond!

Heh, Ive never been to a proper butcher before, usually buying steaks at Morton Williams/Food Emporium/Stop N Shop/Publix, where its kinda hit-and-miss to get a nice, thick, steak.So now that Im learning to cook, Ive found that I cant even really cook thin steaks reliably. I cant stick a meat thermometer in them!So I went to Ottomanelli Bros today - its a little bit out of my way, and I had to take the Q train one stop - and found my way over to York avenue. Its a nice old fashioned place!I got a great cut of sirloin, about 1 pound, for only a buck or two more than the supermarket... I was actually expecting to pay more, but this was a nice surprise. Once I cooked it, I was quite happy that Id gone out of my way :)I like this place, and I bet Ill be back.

Rude and dim witted staff

Best roast beef sandwich youll ever have in your life. Ive been living UES Manhattan for 7 years and have eaten at plenty of Delis all over NYC, including ones that make it on TV, and Ottomanellis Butcher Shoppe at 82nd and York Ave in Manhattan will beat them all...youre getting a meat sandwich at a 100+ year old butcher shoppe on the Upper East Side...i mean you really cant go wrong. Come eat sandwiches here !!!
