After returning home I realized that the young lady hadnt slid my onion down to me.She was ringing up the next person.I walked all the way back to get my red onion, needed to make guacamole. The manager sent me to go get another red onion.I selected one as close to the previous size.He rung it up and said you owe me 10 cents. The teller and I both looked surprised.I requested my 10 cent receipt.

I got home from my shopping trip last night and realized that one of the items I purchased hadnt been bagged. I went back today with the receipt and spoke to a rude employee that tried to tell me that I hadnt even purchased the item. Since it was right on the receipt, he then talked to the manager. After 20 minutes of waiting he came back and said that they would give me the item, but it was my fault because I had bagged my own groceries. Which was a lie. I started the bagging process, but then the cashier finished while I was paying for me groceries through the card reader. They made me feel guilty just for getting something I had already paid for.

This isnt the fanciest grocery store but you can generally find what you need here. The staff have always been pretty friendly. I hadnt gone recently because Ive been using delivery services mostly but I only needed a few things so I went in. I got milk, bread, jam, and eggs. Two out of the four items were OPENED. I had already gone back to get a refund for the milk and the following day I realized the bread was also opened with the top piece missing. Im not a paranoid germ freak really but especially with COVID, this was just so disappointing. I wasnt going to go back for a second refund.

Where do I begin? Overpriced, outdated molded produce. Vegetables bins are usually dirty. Ive complained to management many times. After complaining once about molded cauliflower I saw the manager put the same item back on the shelf. I often see open bags of potato chips in the snack aisle and feminine hygiene products are usually tampered with. Last week they had Italian sausages on the shelf that was two days past the expiration date. Products in plastic bags such as dry beans and popcorn usually have small holes like a mouse had been clawing into it. Floor staff cant assist you because they dont speak English. This store on 116th Street should be investigated .

Small store but extremely full of all sorts of materials and products. Many employees working throughout the store, working to restock shelves in order to maintain a very high level of visual appeal. Only thing which was lacking is water bottles and jugs only had limited brands. Deer lake, Poland springs, vibrant, smart water, Evian, aqua hydrate. I personally tend to prefer water sourced locally from the Pacific northwest, where I am from. Either that or Fiji water.

This supermarket is always clean and bright. They have security and plenty of check out counters no self check out currently. The lines are always long because of how often they have sales. This supermarket is a great place to make sure you stock up the pantry for the whole family. Staff is always easy to find and ready to help. They have an amazing selection in cheeses and meats by the deli counter. Any kind of salami your looking for trust me they have it. By far this location has the biggest freezer selection I have seen for east harlem. The fresh fruits and vegetables are always pleasing to the eye. They have scales that are easy to use and find so if you want to ensure you keep fresh food on the table be it vegan gluten free or vegetarian they have what you need. Any dietary need food items are here so bring a big cart or a truck.

Worst supermarket ever. They hold locals in contempt by demanding ID with credit card purchases (although they agreed NOT TO DO SO for purchases under 100 grand in their merchant agreements with Visa & Mastercard - something many shoppers are obviously unaware of), overprice everything by literally 35% or more, and employ the worst management & store clerk’s on the planet. But then again, workers are usually the mirror of upper management. The only way this changes is if you & I walk the extra few blocks to Best Yet Market, or the C-Town on 116th (really good management & kind counter ladies! And of course, nothing beats a trip to Fairway for meats.Finefare doesn’t have to compete, but they should be required to respect & honor their customers to continue doing business with us. They are taking advantage of their location by betting you’ll still come & shop there no matter what. F*k ‘em.

The meats and other items are usually spoiled. I reported spoiled meat to the manager in the meat department couple of years ago and they still put out bad meat and sell it. My son went to supermarket for me Recently and brought back bad meat and spoiled items from freezer. I don’t think this is fair when we spend our money then get home and cannot use the items because they’re spoiled. I think this supermarket needs an inspection. This has been going on for many years and it’s not fair to people that constantly shop here.

I came to exchange a milk i had purchased from the store less than 10mins before hand. The manager,a hispanic lady by the name of Diane, was very unprofessional calling me a liar when i explained that there was a leak in the milk l. She assumed that because the hole, which was small at first, opened more from moving around in the bag and me placing it down when i noticed it spilling on my clothes. I told her i would make a complaint about her rude demeanor to customers and that in business the customer is right. There are other supermarkets in the area i hesitated to go to due to extra distance but Id rather travel further than do business somewhere where the manager is so standoffish and nonchalant about helping customers with something thats understandable and only requires a quick fix.

This supermarket is in my building. How I wish it wasnt so terrible. Much of the food is moldy and expired. Watch out. You have to fight and wait a long time while they check to get advertised specials. Staff seems aggravated to have their jobs. Lines are long because it seems they really dont care. If possible save yourself disappointment and go to the Fine Fare south a few blocks or the Best Market or Whole Foods up a few blocks.

This supermarket is the closest to where I live but I dread going every time. The food has often spoiled. They have signs telling you it is your responsibility to make sure your food isnt expired. What? No. Take your rotten food off the shelves. The cashiers are rude. They dont acknowledge you. They dont smile. They seem to hate their jobs. They move as slow as molasses.Recently, after unloading my cart and then waiting about ten minutes for one customer, then about five minutes while the cashier counted her cash register, she looked up and said this is express only. I apologized for not noticing and asked why she didnt tell me before I emptied my cart. She didnt answer. I asked if she could service me since everything was out of the cart and the cart was already taken away. She said no. Youll need to get a new cart put everything back and wait in another line. I informed her that I didnt have that much time. She shrugged.I left the store without groceries. The store lost a sale. Sadly, it is clear that employees could care less. Customers are not a priority and friendly and efficient service are non-existent.Instead of going to the supermarket in my neighborhood, I pay more and order from Fresh Direct. They are fast, friendly, reliable and value their customers.

For a Central Harlem location pegged to the needs of long-time residents as well as newcomers to the area, this supermarket meets and very often exceeds expectations. The aisles are wide, signage is adequate and the sheer size of the store is used creatively to accommodate all tastes. The produce section alone is bursting at the seams with products which will astound you with their mysterious look and purpose. I have been coming for years and however rare or scarce an item, found it here with due diligence. I cannot remember ever leaving and lamenting the fact that I was unable to find Item X. This place picks up where your local beloved bodega left off. Must be seen and walked thru to be truly appreciated. Plus, the most magnificent part of Lenox Avenue (Malcolm X Blvd) is right outside along with great transportation and shopping venues.

Its a simple supermarket, and really overall its OK. Their real plus is the location, and staff is nice. It has its quirks and I kind of like it, the only thing I dont understand is why the prices for some things are so high when theyre typically discount products. Its weird because theres not a whole lot of selection, produce is usually not in super great shape, and otherwise its mostly commodities, but still the prices are kind of high. Trader Joes at 72nd street is a lot better priced if youre coming uptown from work and dont mind carrying your groceries, but this store is convenient.

Another incident was when I needed help reaching for an item. I searched the store and found many people who worked there that can help but they all said they couldnt leave their aisle. You will get your items but walk out with an attitude because of lack of customer service.
