Keep to your stance! No need for wokeness in business. If staff quits there will always be someone who needs a job. Keep strong. May God bless you!

Insulted a majority of their workforce and then tried to walk it back after the workers left. There is not an amount of money that would get me to buy anything from this place so long as it profits the ownership of the company.

While I have only been to the one in Upper East (apparently there are ones in Greenwich, CT, and even in Brooklyn), exemplifies why New York City is so magnetically attractive to live in. This is my first review on social media to post, but seeing people describing somewhat negatively about Fleishers on Yelp motivated me to write about them (Why on Google versus Yelp?, after reading reviews from both, I concluded that people on Google seem to be more knowable, so hopefully my review will be worth a bit for those who care).Quality: As far as I understand, Fleishers is a boutique butcher that serves whole animals, and hence all parts of animals, including organs (tongues, kidneys, hearts, etc) are available. If you think Bell & Evans chickens are good, try their roast chicken ($25-30). If you think Whole Foods / Citarella beefs are good, give theirs a try (grass fed, so not as heavy as grass and grain fed). Lastly, but def not least, their pork from J&D Farm is WORLD CLASS. Their other meats, including beef, are great by New York standard, but not mind blowing great, until you try their pork. Yes, their pork is mind blowing.Price: I’m going to focus on my fav, their pork. I think they changed their pricing structure on certain items recently, as of 2018. For example. Their pork chops used to cost $16.99 /lb, now costs $14.99 /lb, while the quality looks exactly the same, the taste is the same, and,,, it’s just extremely great.Value including Services: Me being a Japanese cheap guy, my purchasing pattern is about disparity between value vs price. If something that seems to be pricey by the price, but the value is way up, that’s a great buy. Having said this, value that Fleishers offes is extreme. If I remember, Fleishers twitter (maybe?) claim that they are the best butchers in the world, (in my opinion, that title goes out to this local butcher in Tokyo), but seeing employees describing where they work having that kind of sense of pride in themselves does make lots of differences as a customer.

In my humble opinion, this is the best butcher small, local butcher in the entire city and definitely a welcome addition to the UES! I love buying locally sourced meats that came from caring and environmentally conscious farmers. Their prices are competitive with Citarella, Whole Foods and other local butchers, but their quality blows them all out of the park. Be sure not to forget your four-legged friends, they also carry raw-frozen dog food! Whats more, their entire staff is friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help with anything.

Good products....when they have them. I like the variety and quality of products sold but find that inventory management is an issue. I have to call ahead of time to ensure that they will have what I want when I go to the store. Additionally, I find that certain products they are out of for weeks at a time.

Used to be great but recently went through an acquisition and now they are pretty bad for the items I usually go for. The deli meats options have been reduced significantly to now only offer ham and Turkey. The bacon used to be sold for $15 for 16oz and now is $10 for 8oz. Im sure the other items are still great but the new offerings are pretty bad compared to the old. Im sure there are others but this is the only items Im aware of that have changed.

Absolutely love the fact that they can hermedically seal any raw meat, poultry, product. So you can organize your meals and plan without loosing it to freezer burn or spoil. Not to menttion it is done fresh at the store, Wow! I can actually get a greater shelf life/ freezer plan to go and 0 spoils $$$great value for sure! Thanks Brian!

The filet was so tender and good. You could eat it forever and that impressive. If my friend sold this meat it would be worth $80. And it was cheaper there. Best place so far better than Citarella for sure. Go buy some steak for the kids

For years I made the mistake of buying our meat at nearby Citeralla or Graces. I decided to make a Moroccan lamb tajine in our Instant Pot (buy an Instant Pot if you dont already own one - life changing!!)Anyways, the recipe calls for lamb shoulder. I strike out everywhere until I walk in this amazing place that can only be described as, Heaven for carnivores and people who love to cook meat to treat their family to truly delicious food..The gentleman who helped me was one of the butchers who actually carved this beautiful specimen. The tanjine was excellent thanks to the fork tender lamb shoulder. I also picked up a couple of house-made merguez sausages that will make their way into a delicious fritatta this week.Next up? Brazilian-style stove-top spare ribs, filet mignon for Julia Childs decadent beef stroganoff and a 15 pound turkey for Easter!Cant wait to give these guys all my business.

Im so relieved theyve opened up this store on the UES. Fleishers sells sustainably and humanely raised meats and charcuterie (park slope usually has lots of eggs and cheese/dairy too so Im sure they will soon on the UES) for reasonable (given the product and neighborhood) prices and from the friendliest butchers and salespeople around. Theyre full of good advice and are so happy to share. All the people working here are clearly passionate about what they do and this isnt just a random job for them. Meat quality is spectacular.
