Possibly the best brisket I’ve ever had in NYC. Also great prepared foods read to go.

Quality of meat is arguably the best kosher options in nyc. Each of the guys working the counter and cutting the meat have their own unique personalities. Prepared foods are not top notch, but pretty good on the whole. Staff generally takes pride in their work - though there are occasional glitches where orders are missing items. Some of the store’s staff can be moody at times. That said, store attempts to deliver a bygone, more personalized shopping experience than that offered by non-family run businesses - and for that, they should be credited (flaws and all).

Turkey has half of its feathers remaining. Itd be nice if these people actually did their jobs. Considering they charge an arm and a leg for this its pretty insulting how little effort they put in.

The best. A bit pricey but their ground steak, chickens and Turkey are excellent.

Although the quality of the meat is great, the attitude is tough to handle. It does not matter if I call for delivery or pick up, every time I call I get the same attitude. They make me feel like they are doing me a favor. I always want to ask them how they would feel if they had no customers. They ruin my day every time I call and we end up eating fish more than we want to because they are so rude.

During my work day I often pass Fischer Bros & Leslie. My coworker and I decided to stop and purchase their delicious potato pancakes. I walked into the store and found what I wanted. While standing at the counter a man who I assumed was Latino turned and said what, are you lost? I responded am I lost? His response as he laughed was no I was talking to him. He pointed to one of his coworkers. Yes I am a Black man, I do support myself and family but in New York City on the Upper West Side in 2017; I would have never expected such blatant racism. Im sure he intended to say it under his breathe but he did not. Not one person at Fischer Bros & Leslie said a word in defense of him or myself. Am I now to conclude that the establishment allows racism against it customers; especially when it is directed by another minority they is in Fischer Bros & Leslies employ? I so love their prepared food and I am now afraid that by returning I will be validating racism. So disappointed their potato pancakes are the best.

This is not in review of the place so please disregard the star. I was searching for a good butcher in the neighborhood but reading these reviews turned me off. I do not tolerate racism of any kind so I wont ever shop at this place & warn my friends & neighbors as well. Treat your customers with unbiased decency & your business will thrive.

I love this place. I order for delivery and the team there is super helpful -- and the delivery is always on time and correct.

The food and prices are fine for glatt kosher (the latkes are the best Ive ever had), but there sometimes is something strange going on at the cash register. I always have to ask for a receipt, and sometimes, if the bill comes out to $45, I get a stub that says $4.50. Lately Ive insisted on getting a receipt with the correct amount. Also one of the owners or managers has a severe personality disorder (tall bearded guy, late 30s), as Ive seen him on two different occasions yell and scream at an employee for doing something wrong. This in front of customers. I mean really scream until he was red in the face. Dont know why they let this lunatic work there, unless he just cant be fired for being family, etc. I avoid going here because of the cash register quirks.

Management is rude and deceptive. They sell kosher chcken for $5-6 a pound. I wanted to buy un rendered chicken fat. They tried to sell me a plastic bag full of skin, bones, meat, dirt and a little chicken fat for $5 + a pound.I pointed out how infair they were trying to be and they invited me to me leave the store. They are not honest.
