I have been shopping here since the Essex market opened and I am so pleased with my purchases. I have needed to cook a few dishes that required a certain cut of meat and i feel like it was cut expertly, and even trimmed for me which made my task of making the meals much easier.The butchers are very knowledgeable. Everyone that I have have encountered there has been so kind as well.What is also especially great to see is that the owners are front and center each time I am there.I think that’s so great to see an owner of a business like this with a hands on attitude,

Absolute triumph of customer service. While I was there three weeks ago, a foreign gentleman caused a ruckus after ordering the wrong thing (clearly out of his element). The good Sirs at Luis Meat Market handled him with aplomb, deftly navigating his accusations without breaking a sweat. Good to see old fashion customer service is not dead in our modern day and age!

Very rude staff who all found it necessary to laugh at me because I’m from a different country and called something by the wrong name while ordering. Made me feel extremely uncomfortable and will not be going back. They clearly don’t respect or value their customers.

There are half-dozen butchers in Essex Market. An old friend of mine introduced me to this place and now I come here at least once a week for their meats. They have reasonably priced high quality meats. I typically get ground beef for chili as well as the Ribeye for cooking. When cooked properly the meat from here will rival any restaurant meat cooked in a grill.
