Simply Terrific! I have never purchased meat from Schatzies before, but I am now a customer! I called and spoke with Richie who was delightful! He was so helpful in answering my questions. I bought some ground beef for burgers and a giant veal chop. All was perfect and delicious. I would highly recommend Schatzie Prime Meats to anyone!

Couldnt have enjoyed this place more. What a great burger place, butcher, and take-away restaurant on the UWS/Manhattan Valley/Columbia area. It wasnt crowded on a Thursday night, so my girlfriend and I were able to talk with Richie a while and he was really nice, knew a lot of about the food industry in NYC, and was a pleasure to talk with.The food was outstanding. We both ordered cheeseburgers, one Schatzies and one grass-fed, and loved them both. You could tell the meat was high-quality and that was the star. They werent as greasy as others but still had a ton of flavor.We got the fries with rosemary and they were just a bit crispy but soft and delicious. Someone else ordered the truffle ones which smelled great.The fried Oreos though were one of the best desserts Ive had, the pancake batter they use to fry made all the difference, super good!They also have a solid roster of beers, some of which are harder to find.Overall, this place is worth venturing to for a meal and I cant wait to try the rest of their menu.

We ordered delivery for a capon, and he called me right away to tell me that they didnt have that size, but hed accommodate me by giving me two of a smaller size. They delivered right on time, and were super professional and friendly! Will definitely order from them again

What it lacks in creature comforts (ambience) it makes up for in local color. $13.95 gets you a burger, fries, & all the trimmings including lettuce, tomato, and cheese. The burgers here are definitely some of the best on the west side. Had a great conversation with Schatzie, who told me stories about the old days in the Bronx everybody was really friendly. Splurged on my diet and had a vanilla milkshake for dessert it was out of this world. Before I left I met his son Richie who was telling jokes with my friend really nice people old fashioned type of service and dedication to Quality my new go-to place for burgers have to try the other stuff on the menu

The servings here are large and delicious. Service is good and Ive never been there while its super crowded. It has the added convenience to be attached to a butchery. Convenient and delicious! Definitely reccomend

Stopped in to get popovers and saw the delicious-looking rotisserie chickens. $13.95 seemed a bit pricey but it came with two sides so I thought Id give it a try. Man was I disappointed! The chicken was tasteless and dry. Ive had their brisket sandwiches and those are good but dont waste your money on the rotisserie chicken.

Excellent burger on brioche bun, moist and juicy - even after taking it to go. Summer special $9.95 burger and fries - highly recommend!

It’s not mentioned anywhere so watch out: Its cash only!!! There is an atm inside the restaurant but you will be charged an additional fee. So Im taking off a star for this. another star off for the wannabe funny/rude butcher. As for the food, my burger was indeed fresh but I like my bread also warm, which was not the case. Would I go there again? Probably not.

If you like getting hit by a parked bike on your way to the bathroom AND toilet paper carpet, use the bathroom here.

I had the French toast, bacon, and popover with strawberry butter for brunch - all were on point and fresh. Their coffee is excellent also.

This place has been a joke since they opened. The prepared foods, the prices, the staff, the owner (ESPECIALLY THE OWNER), all a joke. Now theyve reduced the size of their store to 30% of what it was, should be out of business by 2020.

Everything was delicious. Schatzie and son, Richie were very kind hosts. My burger was cooked perfectly medium rare with crisp bacon, melted cheddar and a runny egg. Sides were excellent. Belgium fries with truffle oil, Brussel sprouts in a delicious sauce with chunks of thick bacon were mouth watering. Buffalo wings were another homerun. Then the cowboy ribeye was for sure something to write in about. Charred on the outside with a spot on medium rare inside. Dont think Ive ever had a more perfectly cooked steak. Loved this place.

Excellent burger — excellent beef cooked as ordered (we had rare, medium rare, and medium, all nicely seared and perfectly cooked), good fries, good sprouts and pancetta, good beer. Whats not to like?
