Our sandwiches were so amazing!!!! This little place is really the coolest spot in town. It’s dark, edgy, stylish, and unique. Center St in Riverwest has become *the* place to find funky gems like this one. And oh yes, they serve excellent coffee. Come for the vibe and stay for the vegan food!

Beware! This is their mango ice tea. It doesnt taste like mango or ice tea. It tastes like water with a lot of cinnamon. A whole lot of cinnamon. Like a mouth full of cinnamon. If thats your thing you will love it. I hate cinnamon but love mango and there is absolutely no mango taste in it. 🤔 they should really call it cinnamon water. 😥

Versatile menu with options for both the healthy and the hearty eater. Cool motorcycle/BMX vibe. They have a variety of creative mixed drinks like The Bomb - an Aperol, champagne, and Bomb Pop (yes, the popsicle!) - and a solid craft beer list. Fun fact: all summer you can add a Bomb Pop to your drink for $1!Fuel also doubles as a coffee shop with an upstairs sitting area where people were set up with their computers. (The WiFi password is “fuelcoffee”)We weren’t super hungry so we came in for a light lunch. We ordered the green bean appetizer and the Sly Turkey sandwich (turkey, cucumber, sprouts, avocado, and sriracha mayo on whole grain bread) to split. The green beans were expertly flavored and the sandwich had the perfect amount of crunch and flavor. I appreciated the detail of toasting and buttering the bread.The prices were very reasonable and Jade provided excellent service. We would 100% come back!

I have been coming to Fuel for a long time and I am never disappointed. I love the high energy atmosphere, they have a variety of drinks that are both classic and unique, and the food is simple yet delicious. Another great place with outstanding vegetarian options. The service is fast and friendly. I wish I lived closer so I could come here more.

An iconic Riverwest business, one of the early 1990s Center St. pioneers which helped start to revitalize the neighborhood. Sad to see it closed and hopefully somehow, someday, it will come back again.

Fuel Cafe has two different locations in Milwaukee that are both built on motorcycle themes, but have very different vibes. The one in Riverwest (Center St.) is smaller and has a natural edgy vibe. I love to come here for their vegan BLT, and just to hang out for hours & people watch. The location in Walkers Point (5th st.) is HUGE and has a more polished and inherently less cool vibe than the original. Both locations make some of the best non-dairy espresso-based drinks around.

Fuel Cafe has such a cool vibe. They serve delicious coffee and have pretty good breakfast sandwiches. You do have to wait to get any hot food so its not necessarily a quick stop, but its definitely better than any fast food drive thru. The staff here is always super helpful and friendly.

Great decent priced food. Cool atmosphere. Strong coffee. Def a good spot to check in town if youre looking for an alternative space.

First time there and I loved it. Killer aesthetic, staff was fast and friendly, and the coffee is fantastic.I had the iced cappuccino and it was just what I needed to cool down and pick me up.

First time at this location. Staff was not welcoming or friendly at all. Approached counter and was literally greeted with a grunt. No eye contact either. Tried super club & grilled cheese w/ side of baja chicken. Club was salty from sauce & pork. Soup and grilled cheese were standard.

This was a great place to eat. The food was tasty like it is in Vegas and its a cool place to look at withe all the art work and local activities to learn about in the community. My cousin and i found it was right down the block from her shop. It was great

Cool atmosphere. The raspberry Italian soda was really tasty. Staff was a bit short when taking the order. And they have very few decaf options. Thats why I rated them a bit lower.

The cafe right off National is dope. The wings are Nashville hot chicken style and they are incredible. They come with a fresh pickle that looks like it was pulled from a home made jar in the back. Their whole brand is strong and this is one of the most visually pleasing restaurants in the city.

Really unique environment with energetic decor. Really cool place to have a coffee and get some work done. Just don’t be distracted by all the cool things surrounding you.

By no means am i regular, but I have been here a few times.Service is hit or miss, generally leaning towards lack of concern from your order taker/ cashier (the lousy servicesign in the window doesnt seem ti be a joke). Being a neighborhood hang out, I think this is the preferred interaction and level of service.Coffee and drink options are varied, and good. Smoothies, coffees, lattes, juices, etc...Full sandwich menu, with a unique spin. Just about everyone could find something to enjoy (no diet restriction, vegetarian, vegan). More chips than needed are served with each order.

Great place for vegan and vegetarian food. The sandwiches are unique and quirky, which pair well with the eclectic decorations and biker atmosphere. The food is decent quality. I gave it four stars because I think it has real potential, but when Ive been there it seems to really depend on who is working. One time the music wasnt on, half of the menu wasnt available, and it was uncomfortable. The other time was perfect.It is very biker friendly, meaning road bikes and bicycling bikes! They accept biker rewards and give discounts and specials that rotate.

I am grateful for the vegan options. They seem really busy and there are quite a few younger people here. I am an older person and would probably like different music but I can put up with that just for the wonderful vegan wraps.Update: twice they have been out of the vegan bacon. At least they told me the first time. This time I just gave me a nasty substitute and didnt bother to tell me until I had taken my first bite. The cook did not bother to tell the girl who sold it to me that they were out and she didnt have a clue. So Im not very happy with this place right now because the main reason I go there is for the vegan wrap. The girl who took my order told me they did not have wraps so Ive been eating them there for a few months now and it was a little disconcerting to hear that they all of a sudden did not have wraps. She was mistaken. I wish they would get it together and figure out if they have wraps or not and if they have vegan bacon or not.

I’m not lying. I’m not exaggerating. I’m in FEAR for their Cold Brew Coffee. I went there around 1:30-2:30 in the afternoon for coffee with my best friend. It is 4:16 pm the NEXT DAMN DAY. I have not slept a wink. I cant sleep. I have no other reason other than drinking this coffee. I’m jittery and I’m tired. I called in from Work and I SWEAR IM TELLING THE TRUTH.Other than that food is great. Atmosphere is great. Workers are amazing.

If you are vegan, I’d say be careful. I ordered something with vegan bacon and it came with real bacon. Customer service is good, but the sandwiches my family and I ordered were not so great. There was a lack of vegan meat and little flavor.

Loved it 20 years ago and love it now. Brought my daughter for the first time and introduced her to the world of writing at the Fuel with a hot drink nearby. Cheaper and better than any chain. Whether you want to sit for awhile depends on your musical tastes and whether they mesh with staff at the time.

A riverwest classic. Trendy staff, good coffee, and various broody artist types around writing their new novel or whatever. Food is great too. Vegan and vegetarian options if thats your thing.

Id been coming to this place for years before leaving Milwaukee. Whenever I visit I still make sure to make time to enjoy a cup of coffee here and soak in the atmosphere. Always a good place to stop at. People are friendly and it always helps that theres the occasional doggo outside to pet.

They make such great burritos, but they always seem to throw out the beans before I can get there. Come earlier in the day and you wont be disappointed!

I have been coming to this place since i was a kid, my father camilo would bring me in every damn day and i would always get one of their amazing cookies. My grandfather had a build around the area called joes east coast car shops, we would always run for a nice hot cup of coffee. LOVE THE PLACE to this day and always will. Huge supporter for fuel, i love the work guys and gals keep it UP.PS... The food and service are amazing just have to be nice to them, respect is a two way street foaks

Its a great place to go to have a coffee with a friend, grab a quick breakfast, or go by your self and hang out use the Wi-Fi and drink decently priced coffee... you can use their outlets to plug in your computer and or phone .. I recommend to anyone with lower income and good taste in coffee !

This place is great. They play weird loud music that you think would be distracting, but its actually really easy to tune out and actually seems to help me work. Only real downside is that the WIFI absolutely blows, which is fairly problematic if youre hoping to get work done.

Decently priced and they have glasses of water available at all times.

My girlfriend and I have officially made Fuel Cafe our morning routine. Every day we have to get at least one Chai Late each and most days we get breakfast here too. The staff and the atmosphere is what really sold us, if someone works there they absolutely know what theyre doing, better employees than most coffee shops we go to.

Walked into this restaurant in seen the cook making someones food with no gloves. And he kept wiping his nose asked him why he wasnt wearing gloves. He said because we wash our hands thought this was so nasty. And to make matters worse he was very comfortable doing this with me watching.

This place is famous with the college kid crowd, for the atmosphere alone. You can sit and draw for hrs, have great food, amazing coffee (or chai) as I always love. The staff is fast and friendly, and the music is great!!

Baristas were okay. The Milky Way (AKA caramel mocha) was a little bit of a let down. Overall the place is cool, but theres not much special about it. Seems like a spot people who called themselves punks in the past come to revive their glory days.

Tasty, inexpensive and filling. Can only speak for the sandwiches (not the drinks) but I suspect theres a reason why this place is such an institution.

Heavy meals. Nothing like Riverwest Fuel, which is more of a lunch spot. This place definitely holds up for more of a dinner joint.

If you need to wake up, and I mean really wake up then this is the place for you. If you live with reckless abandon and want to get a legal high on caffeine like never before, then this is the place for you. I got the Kevorkian (sp?) Crush, and just like its name sake youll be begging for death as it courses through your veins like a viper through the weeds of your soul. The doctor isnt in though, because his license was revoked for gross misconduct and reckless abandon when crafting these elixers for the general public. Insanity, and spontaneity, will ensue only if you are brave enough to imbibe this mana from Beelzebub, himself. Bold mornings call for bold coffee. 5 stars, but If I could, Id give it a 12/10.

I have never been anywhere that had worse staff than this place, they are rude and will rather talk to people they know than take orders if people waiting in line and then when they finally take your order youre not greeted properly they are just super rude to you as if they would rather be doing anything besides their job, so Im adding to my old review, I figured give them another try and the music they had playing was something that should not be played when there are younger kids in a place. . But then music consisting of the n word, or b word or f word should not be played in a coffee or resturaunt setting, and it took almost an hour for our food because the girls working where more interested in gossiping than pleasing costumers, absolutely awful, how is this one run so poorly when the other is so nice! For some reason I came back to this location and as I’m in line the woman behind the counter is complaining about working in This hell hole !! Than maybe you shouldn’t have a job here ! Give it to someone who cares more about working somewhere

Two dollar coffees but refills are cheap. Great chill atmosphere, music can be loud so if youre trying to get some studying/work done bring noise cancelling headphones
