First of all I want to say that our server Jay S was amazing and very informative. We were seated immediately which seems to be a problem at a lot of restaurants here lately and our food was served quickly. However I could not be more disappointed in my food. I asked if I could get it without bell peppers and they told me no because of the way that the mix was created. My eggs were not cooked fully and runny the bacon was soggy there was no butter on the toast.Overall I just don’t think I would come back here.
Went here for brunch on a Saturday morning for the first time. My friend and I had checked out the menu before we arrived. The environment and layout was cool. We sat outside. We were informed by the host that they were short staffed. It took us close to an hour to order. The menu that was provided didn’t match the online menu. The food was great! Definitely recommend the chicken chorizo and French toast! Our server Dee, was great! I’ll give them another chance on another day!
Fuel Cafe is a great restaurant, bar and coffee cafe. Nestled in Walkers Point its in a great location for those exploring the area. It provides a unique biking aesthetic that is agnostic to whatever 2 wheels you choose, providing for an eclectic culture and unique atmosphere. Classic road bike, dirt bike and home grown bike videos are constantly playing and at times become addicting to watch. The food is great! They have a few foundational items and continue to keep the menu fresh with rotational selections. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. Id highly recommend checking it out for a drink, meal or spot for coffee to work on the laptop.
Honestly the best breakfast weve ever had. I had the chiaquiles bowl. There is nothing quite on this earth like soggy crispy tortilla shells covered in sauce with cheese and scrambled eggs. They had bloody Marys that were absolutely phenomenal. I had a coffee liqueur drink which was just knock your socks off. Our waitress was Gabby and she was beyond unbelievable. The sauce that my boyfriend had on this meat and potato Skillet was so good that we each ordered extra to go home. My girlfriend had the avocado toast, and that candied bacon was off the charts. Im almost glad this place is not local to me because if it were I would probably be spending way too much time there lol. Love Milwaukee. This is the breakfast and brunch that you dream of. It does not get any better than this. I just cant wait to go back.
Atmosphere is super rad. The staff were super fun and on top of it. I hardly came up for air once I got my food and I was able to just relax and finish my coffee and soak it up. Loved this place, highly recommend
The worst dinning experience I have had in years! Terrible food, terrible service. First, we ordered drink. Two people at our table ordered the mule. One was forgotten about so we reminded our server and they gave it to us. Then our server said they accidentally made an extra one and they had to throw it away so they offered it like it was free and we acceptable but would have not ordered anther one. Once we got our bill even though we ordered two mules, we got charged for not 3, but 4?!? We told our server that we only ordered 2 and they made it seem like the other one was free. They couldnt take off the 3rd drink because we drank it even though we didnt order it. Servers make mistakes, Im not mad about that, but management should fix it. We paid for a drink that we DID NOT ORDER. Outside of this the service was really bad. Forgetting silverware, pens, ringing in drinks. My friend got dirty martinis that tasted so off. The food was just as bad as everything else. The chicken sandwich was a McChicken at best and the most bland fries I have ever had. The curds and wings didnt come out with a dipping sauce. Everything here was bad. There wasnt a single redeeming quality and I will never be back here.
We were seated to our table and asked if we have been here beforeby our server.as he placed the menu down on our table. We said this is our first time. Dylan said that there was a item that was not on the menu. and told us what it was.. We both ordered the same, with an egg. When our order came it looked so good! and tasted even better!!It was the best BLT we have ever had!! if that isnt on the menu, it should be.. Maybe let Dylan do the menu, who nows what he could come up with next.😊
Server was so nice. We were celebrating a birthday and we got a free shot. Their house made coffee bourbon. So good. Food was delicious and beautiful. So filling. A tad pricey, but not enough to deter me from returning. Chicken was moistBiscuit decent, though not as good as i wanted, but good. Coffee was bitter. Beans or brew not sure. All in all i enjoyed it. My group enjoyed it. Well be back.
Only had a cocktail, ordered a Paloma it was tasty. My friends got food and all looked pretty good, I tasted some fried cauliflower and chicken both were good.
Awesome service from Mason, I definitely am coming back. The chicken was perfect and they should sell it alone. Not to mention the burgers held up to my moms criticism. Although the pretzel was less then amazing.
Came here for a Sunday brunch. The Blood Mary was good. I ordered the chicken and waffles with poached eggs. I explained to the waitress to tell the kitchen I want them poached hard, no runny yolk at all. To my dismay, that request was completely ignored. They remade the dish, but by the time it came out I was already full from eating everything else so I took it go. The Nashville chicken was spicy and flavorful, the meat juicy. But the French toast was undercooked. I could see and and taste the egg, and it fell apart too easily when cutting into it. My friend had the nachos and the cheese was cold when it was brought out to us. When my dish was remade, the egg was still a bit runny, so the kitchen needs to receive proper coaching on what it means to poach hard.
This is an urban restaurant/bar. The server was great, fun offered a variety of specialty cocktails and the regular drink selection too. Outdoor / indoor restaurant/bar. It’s on a busy street with lots of loud motorcycles.
If you like beer, coffee, and a bike themed environment, then Fuel Cafe is the spot for you. No one beats their Happy Hour deal--$3 taps and $5 appetizers from 3pm - 6pm. It used to be daily but now its only on weekdays (Im hoping they bring it back on weekends). The full-fledged cafe inside is nice too. Fuel Cafe is the perfect place to grab some drinks, eat some food, and hang out with friends. Also, the staff are superb!
Went with a friend for lunch It was my first time at Fuel. I liked the atmosphere. It was very unique with the motorsports theme. Our server was attentive but not the friendliest. The food was pretty good, but nothing special and portions were slightly small.
We all loved our meals from the Chicken & french toast, eggs Benedict, make your own, and bottomless mimosas-- great experience. Love the outdoor patio and that theyre dog friendly!! Smashed red potatoes are a must if youre going for breakfast/brunch
I have ordered twice from here and both times have enjoyed the food! The turkey melt and greens and portobello melt have both been finger licking good. :) You have a repeat customer in me!
The food atmosphere and styling choice is great. Wish this place was in Chicago.
Fuel Cafe was recommended by a local. The service was great and the food was... hmmm how should I put this??? The food was far better than I expected. They MAKE THEIR OWN JAM! What place has the time to do that!?! Not many, but my GOD am I happy they did. The pancakes were heavenly and with the jam on them... my tastebuds REJOICED!!! Ill be back for those heavenly stacks of goodness.
Above decent food although our server, Dillon, led the experience to be uncomfortable. Had a group of 7 for brunch to celebrate my birthday and he was rude and treated us as if we were an inconvenience. Loved the young lady, that was hosting on August 8th!
Waited well over an hour for brunch and it wasnt even that busy. Our waitress was very nice but she had to tell at the kitchen staff to get our food out. Food was fine except my wifes came out cold. Not worth the wait
Staff was friendly and courteous. Food was amazing and well priced. The atmosphere is unique. A hidden gem.
Tried to stop at Fuel today for a staff lunch. Walked in by myself first, received no greeting. Left the restaurant, came back with staff, only to receive a lukewarm greeting from a hostess who seem indifferent about trying to accommodate our party. I can understand if there was an inability to do so, but it really felt like we weren’t wanted there from my initial walk in and then from our group interaction. It’s really unfortunate because we really enjoy Fuel Cafe and have had mostly good experiences in the past, but if this is the new culture of the restaurant, there’s no need to return.
Stopped in during the soft reopening.Limited selection, but nice variety.Servers were very attentive and engaging.Nice to see this place open again!Looking forward to bike nights...soon?
We were in town for a wedding and stumbled across this place. It looked pretty cool so we thought we would give it a try. The decor definitely fits the name so we hoped the food was as good as the rest. We had The Standard, the Short Stack and the Chilaquiles Bowl. The Standard was just that. Eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. The name is the only thing Standard about it. The bacon had an outstanding smokey flavor and the all grain toast was way better than most. The eggs and hash browns were very good too. The Short Stack pancakes were super fluffy and great flavor. Finally, the Chilaquiles Bowl is very hard to describe so we suggest you make it a priority to go and try it out yourself. I dont think you will be disappointed.
Good food, wished they offered their brunch menu for regular breakfast!
Great atmosphere & really good food. The grilled Shishitos were a great starter, the soy glaze was really delicious. I got the Honey Blossom Chicken salad which was very filling & offered a great variety of vegetables. My husband got the Chicken & French Toast which was DELICIOUS, why no one has come up with this combination before is beyond me. The sweet & savory combination of the french toast with the hot chicken is a so good. They offer a lot of vegan & gluten free options which was a plus for me.
Some of the best cheese curds you can get in the Milwaukee area! Smashburger and fried chicken sandwich are also amazing
Amazing menu! Had the Biscuits and gravy, oh my!
The interior is really cool BUT the service was terrible. We waited an hour for our food. The waiter came over a couple of times to tell use they were having technical problems. After an hour, I asked him how much longer it would be. He told us he didnt know what was happening and the kitchen was not communicating with him. He suggested we may want to go somewhere else. It was very strange!
Came for the atmosphere and ended up waiting 45+ minutes for two greasy and burned sandwiches. The cafe was too far from being packed by customers, so can’t tell what exactly took it so long. Neither the waiter was able to give any explanation. Customer service is awful. Hello to the aloof employees✌️Overall experience is quite negative. Haven’t tasted such bland food in a while.Only one good thing is coffee and barista knows his craft.
God awful service I will not return to this establishment until the current manager is demoted or fired! Not only is he an @$$ to his coworkers but he is also extremely cold 🥶 and rude to customers. Way to go!
Great place. Clean, friendly service, fast drinks and good food. Stop reading this and go!
Always a pleasure. Fabulous staff. Drinks and food were spot on
Killer breakfast (served w/absolutely delicious potatoes!)
This avo toast is my favorite ever - our server was delightful & the whole space was super clean & full of good vibes. Well be back!
Great breakfast. Choices were limited when we were there on a Monday morning but whar we uad was great.Eggs, smashed red taters and bacon. Delicious bacon. Coffee and service were good also.
Still one of the coolest environments in the entire city. Nostalgic motorcycle racing theme can not be beat. I was there to eat. Food menu is still much abbreviated. Covid related Im sure. Im hoping for the full menu to return. In the mean time if ur looking for a place to drink a few rounds and ur a gearhead, Fuel Cafe is kind of like Disneyland.
We love eating or having a cocktail in the outside seating area. If you are a dog lover their generally is some there- very dog friendly. The food choices are always interesting and kinda electic. Its a casual laid back atmosphere that is sure to please. Its near the Iron Horse Hotel and Mob Craft Beer .
Ive been here twice and I love it. I like the location and the service. The food has been great both times. I like the variety in the food. And again - service has always been great for me. First time: Gatsby = delicious. Second time around I got the Korean Bowl with shrimp. Center is the Chilaquiles bowl. Skinny standard top left and french toast on the bottom. Look at the bloody.
Waited over an hour on our food then if came out and my smash burger was raw bun soaked in blood! Would not recommend
Server was just okay. Avocado toast was unbelievably delicious.
Great food and we enjoyed eating outside with our pup. Super friendly service and we cant wait to be back
Great atmosphere, great food, and great staff!
Fuel Cafe on 5th St is a full service bar and restaurant, I was under the impression itd be like the Center St Fuel. It still has a bakery and coffee. Large outdoor patio that is dog friendly. Food was super good, the quinoa bowl was good but the pork on top was thick, fatty chunks (thought it was going to be pulled pork). It was still real good, just a warning to any picky meat eaters like myself.
This place is awesome! Food and drinks were great and service was great!
This place has been great during the pandemic. Their hours are posted and they have plexiglass protecting the workers. I recommend the breakfast sandwich
We came here looking for healthier options. The mixed berry smoothie was watery and flavorless. The salad was somewhat edible, but the flavor combination was strange. The chicken on the salad was very dry. French fries were reasonable, hot and fresh, but the burger wasnt any better than what we could make ourselves. The server also placed the check in front of the man at the table both times, even though I was paying and kept the bill in front of me and my wallet on the table so that she might take the hint. Nope.
Updated for recent visit:The coffee bar needs a good training program. I ordered a short latte and the barista who barely knew about coffee pulled a shot that was extremely black and disappointing. My iced latte was practically flavored milk, it tasted horrible. I was visiting from Chicago and was on my way back home so I couldn’t even return the poorly made drink- pls pls pls train your baristas on how to pull proper shots and make proper drinks. Additionally, they charged me initially 6 bucks for this drink but I had to correct them.2016 review -Great place for food, coffee and chilling with friends. One of the most eclectic places I have found in Milwaukee and I commend them for thinking outside the box. I enjoyed the oysters, kale salad, coffee made with espresso and banana! Delicious throughout and great service and very clean establishment.
Not as great as the original, but still good.
Update to my earlier review since we ate this time. Reasonably priced menu with good food. My wife got a cheeseburger for $8. I got the Puerquito for $11 (roasted pork with avacado, onions and cilantro salsa) and it was excellent and too much to eat. Happy hour prices are great; $3 craft beer and a delicious green bean appetizer for $5. Cool place, outdoor seating that was somewhat ruined by the crappy music blaring from the Nomad across the street. Would have been five stars otherwise. They shouldnt let a neighbor take over their environment.
Good food and great atmosphere.
Food was good and our server was really nice and helpful
Nice atmosphere and good food
Fuel Cafe 5th St is a great restaurant that is sure to find a spot in your heart. Great food and wonderful service.
