I read a review here saying the Ice Vanilla Latte was great and that’s a serious lie. Been to a bunch of different coffee shops and this Ice Vanilla Latte is NOT WORTH the price for almost $6. Got my drink and it was over sweet, the guy kindly fix it but it still didn’t taste like an actual espresso drink. The only redeeming thing is the place looked clean and the staff were friendly.
They opened late. The menus are on TVs which werent turned on yet. Placed our order and the guy started making coffees for a customer that came in after us. It took him 10 minutes to do this before he even started on our order of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. It has now been 35 minutes since we stepped in the door. I will never come back here again. They lost $50 a day. The food better be EPIC!!!
I ordered online through delivery service. The sandwich was very hard to eat. Thick, hard slices of white bread, not much on the inside. Two tiny, extremely thin slices of bacon which I paid an extra $1.50 to add to the sandwich. The bread to ingredient ratio was out of wack. I basically ate mouthfuls of dry bread. Had to throw most of it away, because it was simply unappetizing and dry. Not worth the $10.50+ that I paid! The fresh fruit cup was anything but fresh. Old blackberries and shriveled clementine slices that were certainly not prepared that day. Will not order again. Terrible quality for all the money paid.
I ordered an ice Carmel latte with almond milk, which I though was a safe choice! I was definitely wrong. It tasted awful… almost sour? I am someone who really enjoys espresso, but today I was craving something sweet. I don’t know if the espresso shots were tempered wrong or if the milk was bad, but either way I couldn’t finish it because it tasted like it was spoiled. Really disappointing considers I paid like $6 for it.
My go to spot in Milwaukee. Good food/drinks/atmosphere all around. Clean and friendly. Will be coming here for years to come.
I got the breakfast panini without bacon (vegetarian) which was good but for the price seemed a bit lacking. I also got an iced mocha which blew my mind it was so good! Staff was super friendly.
Caramel latte was ok. Husband coffee was ok. Latte could have been hotter. To go only. Small chalk written menu, couldnt read it. Wouldnt let you get close enough to read it, covid19. But think about making a print out and taping it to the wall next to where you stop people, so a person can see what flavors of drinks you have and prices. Not a hard fix, to what I thought to be annoying. The guy taking the order seemed annoyed, cuz I was trying to see the menu. The other guy that bought us our drinks... MASK OVER MOUTH AND NOSE, NOT JUST MOUTH THANK YOU. Theres lots of places to get coffee. Not impressed.
I always get the Flying Scotsman and a coffee. Always delicious and spot on. Service is the best. My go to place for lunch in Milwaukee.
“Farm to table” is a bit of a stretch. The trans-Siberian sandwich description made it sound amazing, but the actual product was disappointing. Definitely wasn’t living up to wth description “grilled sourdough bread smothered in melted Brie, layered with ripe Roma tomato, fresh basil(wasn’t any), crispy cucumber, and seasoned olive oil.”
Love this place. To bad there going out of business. Will surly miss this one.
What sounded like an amazing lunch turned out to be a disappointment. The Opening Bell sandwich was carelessly thrown together with brown avocado. The Trans-Siberian panini is listed as including Brie. I couldnt see or taste any. I experienced dismissive customer service when I called to inquire about the panini. I was assured there was brie and it must have all melted into the bread. I certainly couldnt taste it. $20 lunch order and GrubHub coupon wasted. Lackluster experience.
Great cafe & friendly customer service!
They made the best vanilla latte I’ve ever had, the sandwiches are amazing, and the staff is super friendly! This is one of my favorite coffee places in milwaukee :)
From all the cafes around town, this one stands out the most. Quality coffee and kind service.
I adore this place, the owners are so friendly and the coffee has always been spot on! Seriously can’t get better than this.
I had a vegetable panini style breakfast sandwich here that was extraordinary. Super friendly staff, which isnt always the case downtown. A funky shaped building that can put you in the window of the busiest street in the city or tucked away in quiet warmth with a book. 4 stars instead of 5 because theyre closed on Saturdays.EDIT: As the very responsive owner noted below, the store IS scheduled to be open on Saturdays. I had stopped by several Saturdays and they werent open; perhaps there was a temporary staff snafu. I appreciate the owners correction to my original review.
Today was my first time ordering from The coffee bean and I must say it’s been pretty good. I got The trader and the Sicilian bowl, it’s soooo good. I definitely will be going back plus it’s close to my job!
Cute little shop on the way into the third ward. Friendly staff and decent drinks. Menu is pretty big for both food and drinks. Only complaint is that they have pretty odd hours. As a student I would love for this to be one of my study spots, but find this place closes too early for it.
Great atmosphere. It’s really homey and intimate. It’s a lot calmer than a Starbucks. If you actually need to get work done and still want high quality.. come here’
Tried the Trader and Hiawatha sandwiches. Both VERY tasty and filling! I also tried the Mocha and was surprised to find it was delicious! Im very coffee-picky, so its exciting to find good coffee in random places.Daughter loved the window seating and people watching. Also had the blueberry muffin and enjoyed it
This was my first time having The Coffee Bean. My food arrived at least 15 minutes early. The Coffee Bean’s driver was friendly and helpful with the door while I accepted my bag while juggling my toddler. To top it off, my breakfast was delicious! Both my 1 and 3 year old enjoyed their croissant sandwich and double chocolate muffin very much. They definitely made a new regular customer today!
Today I had the best frappe Ive ever tasted! Caramel and English toffee with whipped cream on top. It stayed just as delicious from the first drink to the last sip. If you ever get the chance and dont know exactly what you want, get this, you will not be disappointed!
Smallish place but nice and clean. Sandwhichs are good and fresh, very reasonably priced for downtown. Staff was friendly. Its a nice little Cafe with great prices in the heart of downtown, really liked it.
I order delivery from here regularly and have never been disappointed. Food arrives reasonably fast. Delivery person always friendly. Food is wonderful. I enjoy their croissants and the Greek Salad is my absolute favorite!! Its so flavorful and very fresh.
Their tasty sandwiches make up for the fact that their coffee is not from Colectivo. 😜When dining in, for some reason, they only give you half the bag of chips that you get with the to-go orders?? Perhaps once the owner reads this review, that will be corrected . . .
Poor service. The guy with the glasses took 20 minutes to make a hot dog. He ask what toppings I wanted. I said a few including ketchup and mustard and he put condiment packets in the bag. That’s not a topping that’s on the side! The bun was smushed thin as paper and wasn’t even toasted enough. The flavored coffee tasted stale. Then he charges me and extra dollar for flavor. It already had a set price as a flavored drink. I wasted 30 minutes of my lunch break for a simple coffee and hot dog.
We meet here with a very large group for a meet up. They are very nice and accommodating. Anodyne Coffee is served here.
I ordered the trader on gluten free bread. They took 15 mins to make it and gave it to me to-go. I took one bite and discovered it was not gluten free bread. I am severely allergic to gluten. I will never be returning to this place I used to really enjoy.
Friendly local shop. Great espresso.
Ordered the sausage egg and cheese on croissant and the bacon egg and cheese on croissant. Preferred the sausage much more due to very thin/ sparse layer of bacon. Both were yummy though.
Tasty healthy fare in downtown Milwaukee. Excellent coffee, reasonable pricing.
Fresh sandwiches and good coffee. Nice little spot for a casual bite or caffeine infusion if youre in the area and want something quick/informal.
Right by home., Great coffee
Friendly local coffee joint. Good espresso
Adorable and quaint. I absolutely loved this little café. The staff was sweet and I went completely off their suggestions. They had great taste. And to top it off their playlist is completely Frank Sinatra. Definitely a good start to the day.
I came in to kill some time while my boyfriend interviewed at the Wells Fargo building and didnt realize they were closed. The guys here were nothing but polite and chill, making me an awesome coffee and quinoa bowl. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!
Best coffee ever and the food is great as well
Great place for a order and go! They have good tea and great coffee.
My food was delivered to my house approximately 20mins ago and it was delicious, there was a mix up time wise but the delivery man called me ahead of time to give me a heads up, I absolutely love it
Best paninis in Milwaukee, let me substitute ingredients with no charge. Gluten free options. Friendly staff.
Love their coffee. Get it every time Im in Milwaukee.
Food was professionally prepared and tasted like a little piece of heaven. The staff is beyond helpful and good looking
Loved my lunch from here! Ordered through Grubhub and it came much earlier than expected! Food was hot still (thank god) and sooooo good. Highly reccomend!! 🙂🙌🏻👏🏻
I go out of my way for them. Service is amazing. Chia latte....omg....
Their breakfast sandwiches and the bEST! Love them!
Delicious quinoa bowl (Southwest) and veggie soup!
Linear coffee shop poking into the depths of an office building. About a dozen tables, the back couple of which were covered with office detritus. Several outlets. Free wi-fi for one hour with publicly posted password and confusing interface. Soft rock at reasonable volume. When I first got there on a chilly May Saturday morning the door was open to the street and the place was freezing. Barrista closed the door at my request and says the place tends to get overheated. Theres an analog clock on the wall thats running but off by two and a half hours. Office building feel to the place, though a few homey touches and the depth of the place gives it a certain hominess. Small selection of loose leaf teas, and a small, sad collection of end of the week pastries. Chai is Oregon Evil. I tried the matcha against my better judgment - it was scalding. On the plus side, I got a yogurt and fresh fruit that was surprisingly good. They have a small menu of sandwiches and salads and claim to be farm-to-table, so maybe food is their strength.
I want to knownthey secret to their amazing hot cider!
The espresso was weak. Workers friendly
Good customer service, really nice employee on the phone
I ordered a latte. I couldn’t taste any espresso; it tasted just like hot milk.
Coffee is always great.
I stopped at 2:30pm for a cup of coffee, only to find the door locked. The store hours said open until 4pm. I am disappointed.
Delicious fresh coffee and delightful staff .
The gentlemen who welcome you are pure magic! WOW!
Placed an order at 6:30am its now 8am and still havent received my order.
Cozy. Friendly staff.
Greek salad yum
Good service!!!
Very odd customer service
