I go to Roast 2-4 times a week. I love their coffee and the Radio Milwaukee bagel sandwich is the best bagel sandwich I have ever had. I order their Nitro Cold Brew and Radio Milwaukee every time I go, and as long as I live in Milwaukee I was frequent Roast 2-4 times a week. Also, the staff is super friendly and when I earned my free drink, I order a coffee and a smoothie (the smoothie is a couple dollars me) and they gave me the smoothie as the free drink. Not a lot of places I have frequented would have done that so it tells me that they are honest and not trying to squeeze out a couple more dollars just because they can. Count me impressed. Needless to say, it is 6:30am on a Saturday when I write this review, and you can bet I will be there when they open at 8am this morning.

Really good coffee and very good prices. Their drink menu has some unique options and their breakfast sandwiches are always good. Staff is a little quirky sometimes but all super nice and friendly (like Midwest friendly).

Lovely hot chocolate! The sandwiches are so delicious, simple ingredients but used tastefully with quirky memorable names like the four one four, etc. Retro feel, coffee spot is a good place to study as well. Food is inexpensive, ranging from 3-10$They have lovely artwork (usually available for sale), lining the walls.Cozy atmosphere with a slight retro feel to it, a good spot to study, quite popular with university students.Favorite Purchases:- Hot Chocolate, made creamy and sweet with foamy whipped cream, served in a latte art style- FourOneFour, a simple egg-bacon-cheese bagel sandwhich combination, with the bagel covered in sesame seeds. Delightfully simple, but made fresh, and inexpensive.Cost ~ around $8.00 total :)Would reccomend the more expensive sandwiches on the menu as well, they also serve a variety of specialty coffees.

Alrighty then where to begin. They post up at Alpine Valley for Phish shows; Awesome. They were there the 2019 Alpine Run. Amazing coffee for a stupendous show. The East Side location is relaxed and welcoming. Big Lebowski references seem appreciated too.

Stopped in for a hot tea. Tea was fine - rishi is pretty commonplace in the area so I enjoyed it. However, in the 45 minutes of small talk at the counter while he poured hot water, the man working asked me if I was pregnant. Pretty inappropriate IMO.

Ive been a customer for over a decade. Ryan still pulls some if the best shots in Milwaukee. They carry Anodyne coffee, but Ive seen beans from the Twin Cities. The inside feels like Caffé Vita (Pike), just a little smaller

Expensive 3rd wave coffee. $4 per cup; sour and vegetable notes. I just tried their coffee at their kiosk at the lakefront festival if art (at the museum). I know some people want their coffee to taste like citrus and legumes, I prefer it to taste dark roasted and caramel, so clearly this isnt my style. However, I found the brew very weak and the price very high, even considering it was a special event.

I frequently wander around in search of a great coffee shop to sit and work on my computer, and Roast is one my favorites. It’s small and cozy. Quality drinks and friendly staff. I love that the music is set at the perfect volume. Some places have the music so loud that you can’t even place or take a phone call. Love this place. It’s worth the trip.

Quick service and delicious drinks

$4 for a 16oz coffee. The price isn’t posted on the menu board. The coffee tasted weak. Go to Anodyne, Stone Creek, Valentine, or Colectivo.

I love their coffee but I’m sad they make you spend $10 just to use credit. I usually have cash on me but I have pulled off and left because I knew I didn’t have $3 (cash) on me for a cup of coffee. I understand why bars do it but this is a coffee shop. I used to go here for their amazing coffee but don’t find it as convenient anymore. And have waited 30+ minutes for a 414 and smoothie. I love their coffee. And staff is most of the time friendly!

Great coffee in a great atmosphere!

I often forget about this place when I am considering my morning quiet time with tea and its too bad because it is a perfect place for reading, working, sitting and thinking, anything really. The staff are exceedingly pleasant, they have ice tea year round (yay!) and the atmosphere is perfect for the solo person. It has the benefit of being right by the bus stop for folks who look for this little amenity...

Cant believe I havent worked here in the 22 years I lived in MKE. Great coffee (especially their cold brew with citrus and almond & the April in Paris) but even nicer work environment where you can either hole yourself off or sit in front of the windows for summer sun.

The coffee was good, the largest size was kinda small and it was $5. The service was friendly and I got my coffee in a timely matter. The food is pretty pricey as well.

My friend has a solo art show here. I came for the reception. A coffee shop with its own vibe. Pleasant mix of new and old, small tables, booths,. Easy to find. Glad I went.

Friendly staff, good music, nice place to meet up with a small group of people. Parking on street was close at 830 AM on a Sunday. I ordered a black eye and a chocolate muffin and both were really good and went well together. Ill definitely stop back and I came all the way from Waukesha!

In many years we encountered the rudest lady stoped us from entering I asked if they had face masks for sale like many business do she responded with a awful attitude. No thats why we offer curve side pick up.so we went to colectivo coffee.

I wish I could come every week for latte and coffee.

Cool place with some good coffee. I like the feel of the coffee shop in that neighborhood. Try the Crackhead coffee drink. Now I see why its named that. It was so delicious. Had a great time getting some homework done here. Good service too.

The staff here are always cheerful and make an excellent product, whether it is a sandwich or hot drink. Also, the atmosphere of the establishment is very relaxed yet trendy. The coffee here is the the best around, I highly recommend it to anyone.

Consistently great coffee and breakfast. Feels great to support a local coffee shop and still have consistent results every time. Coy atmosphere in a perfect and safe location. Just make sure you specify if you want pour over as opposed to their drip!

Roast is always a great experience. Their baristas offer great service and I am addicted to their Radio Milwaukee, which is a bagel with cream cheese, tomato, and cucumber. They make a variety of unique drinks, but my favorite is their iced coffee. It is a great place to grab a bite to eat and study.

Hard to get a consistent cup of coffee here. Have given this place many chances but after Waiting 15 minutes for a toasted bagel (No line) and seeing the employees jack jawing in the back. I won’t return- save your money

This is a great coffee place. Unique varieties and helpful staff. It has an awesome atmosphere as well. The fact that it’s a locally owned place is also a great plus.

As long as you buy a coffee you can stand near the cashier and swing glowsticks around really fast.

Really enjoyed the coffee and the excellent menu. We had a BLT wrap with prosciutto, avocado smear and chili aioli. Extremely tasty and very well prepared by the employee. Want to return here regularly when visiting U W Milwaukee. Its an easy walk from the Student Union.

Always amazing coffee. Staff is friendly. It would be good if AM staff were always on time and if they had two people till like 9am to make food and do coffee drinks. Even tho i work up the street, I dont come as much because of the wait.

The ice coffee was absolutely amazing. Price was good also, and the owner/operator was very friendly and knowledgeable. I am sorry it is so far away, I would definitely be a regular customer. Living in Maryland is a little too far to travel, even for amazing coffee.

Pretty great

Good coffee and hot chocolate mix - one of my favorite drinks. Pleasant customer buzz ranges from little kids to retirees. Happy music adds to the vibe without being too loud. Menu is mostly drinks, but they do offer some breakfast and sandwiche options. Best cinnamon roll Ive had in a long time. Sadly, they are only open til 6pm which has always surprised me, since they are so close to UWM.

Best thing about this place is the location. Otherwise, Service is not good and coffee isn’t bad but you can go to so many shops that are better. I would recommend going elsewhere.

I misspoke and ordered a drink regular when I wanted it iced. It was an americano, so adding ice to it already having lots of water would have made it undrinkable. However, the barista was very understanding and made me the drink over again and did not act or seem irritated with me. Thats why I am writing this review, something I rarely do. Highly recommended.

Extremely slow service, coffee is bitter. They dont accept debit card transactions under $5, super inconvenient for this generation that dont carry cash. Youre better off going to the UWM union Grind which is actually amazing or even one of the 2 Starbucks in the area. Trying too hard to be cool, alienating customers. Best of luck to you, not going back.

Ryan has continually supported the community over the years with a knowledgeable and yes-man attitude. This is a spot that I will always go to. Great food, great coffee, speakers, shows, and door prize donations for our shows elsewhere in the past.

Good price on breakfast bagel and nice atmosphere. Been there at least ten times in last 6 years. Almost every time the service is poor. Flat out troubled to serve you. Got a hot chocolate that was lukewarm at best, the person offered to put it in the microwave. Any Batista should cringe at that. I also had an argument with another Batista here about the cup size. He said it was 12 ounces. Was 10. He through a fit. To his credit he later apologized. I guess this must be one of those handful of authentic coffee shops. Why else would you feel like you are putting the staff out?

Coffee and food is always great here. Service is usually horrible. There is one barrista in particular who is usually working that always has a bad attitude and never smiles. She never calls out the drinks when she places them on the counter so they sit there for 5 minitues getting cold before you even realize they were ready. Even when it is not busy it takes a minimum of 15 minutes for her to make a sandwich. So dissapointing considering the great quality of the food.

I really like this coffee house. Its so cozy and cool, great for chitchatting. But its a bit small, so you might not wantto gothere if you want to concentrate on your project or appreciate more privacy, because here people sit very close to you. The menu is so creative, we really liked the Testa Rosa ( the tomato soup) and the Webster X sandwich, healthy and yummy!We only met one of the staffs. She was polite but not willing to answer our questions! 😉🤗

They have the most reasonably priced and TASTY breakfast sandwiches ever. Im also a big fan of their chai, as it has that spicy chai flavor that is frequently masked by obscene amount of sugar seen in chai drinks at other coffee shops. For sandwiches, I recommend getting the GGOOLLDD or the Radio Milwaukee.

I love Roast. Where I live, I have many good coffee house options. Roast, however, excels over the rest in numerous ways. The coffee and espresso are consistantly excellent. Good coffee, excellent grinding and consistant prepration. Also, the owner regularly tries to improve his already superb brewing methods. Hes a coffee aficionado and is very meticulous about everything in his shop. Finally, its just a fun place be. Cozy decor, great food (sandwiches) and awesome coffee. I cant see a reason to go anywhere else.
