I usually had great experience with this pep boys in the past but I got my truck oil changed out and it to 2 hours and there was only 2 other cars with mine. I thought they were short staff so I didnt think nothing of it. So the next week I dropped off my wifes car and this time it took 4 hours. I called every hour to see if they were done with my car and the last call I gave they told me my car wasnt at there shop. I about lost it, so I showed up and asked and then they said the oil change was finished and they got my car mixed with someone elses. Worst experience ever. Sorry pep boys but I will never return here again.

I went in for a front end alignment. They asked what was happening. I said it pulls to the right. They tried to sell me tires that had no warranty other than road hazard. I drove out and the car still pulls to the right. Do basically I paid for an alignment that doesnt work!

Saw adverisement for free installation and balancing on a set of new tires, so i called them up to see if they stocked the tires i neeeded, which they did! went in and spent $750 dollars on a new set of tires for my vehicle all this thinking i had gotten free instal and balance, well come to find out they somehow managed to charge me $50 dollars for extra stuff that was already included in the free install and balance. called the guy up that handled my paperwork and was told that that only the manager could fix that and he was not in to call back and talk to Ray, i have called and called and called and left countless amount of messages to Ray and not once has he even attempted to return my call. BEWARE AND CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE PAYING IF YOU DONT THEY WILL GET YOU!!!!!!

Went by the store and it looks like I missed a going out of business sale. Looks like the boys retired and abandoned the store left it to a the family dog to keep it up and running. Wish I could give this store O stars but since it made me give it 1. There it is. I would justify the one star as the guys on the store side are cool and understanding actually tried to fix what the service side didn’t. I DO NOT RECOMMEND using the service side. Other business will gladly take care of you the way you deserve to be taken care of. If you meet a guy at this store named Ray. He thinks he knows it all and doesn’t know anything.... RUN. Talks to customers as if they were trash. Completely unacceptable. Someone in corporate needs to pay Mr. Ray a visit.

Peyton, the Kidd, Ivan, and Mr. McGee went above and beyond for our family, after 2 days of traveling almost 1000 miles with 2 kids, driving in and out of tornado warnings to make it to a wedding on time, then getting a nail in my tire and needing a replacement we thought we’d for sure be stuck for an hour or so to get a new set of tires put on. However, that was not at all the case, we had fast, friendly, and knowledgeable service and were in and out in less than 25 mins! These guys are amazing and I hope they know how much we appreciated them! Wish we had a pep boys in Lawton, we wouldn’t go to any other place! Thank you guys for your hard work!

I give them 3 stars because the retail area is decent. They have a good selection of auto needs and the Parts department is very helpful. If it werent for their service area, they would probably get 5 stars from me.The service department is a whole other story. It is not a good place to take your car for service. They are slow, rude, incompetent, and completely uncaring. Break time is what they live for. All the way to top management. I have been in Mesquite for 27 years. I have given them several chances through the years. It has never changed. Maybe it is a company wide management mandate. Dont know. Dont care. I avoid them at all costs. If there were a negative star number, the service department would get that.

Didn’t want to change my tire because the bumper was missing. A employee said β€œI don’t know what else could be wrong with it nor do I want to be liable”.I DIDN’T ASK FOR OIL OR ANYTHING ELSE TO BE MESSED WITH SO WHAT COULD GO WRONG ROTATING TIRES IT DRIVES PERFECT! Never again. I went to Pep Boys on Galloway for an alignment that was needed and a tune up that it was time for. They seemed nice enough at first, I went for a walk while they started work. Eventually told me that the car needed front tires (which it did) and over $1000 worth of work for the alignment, that the alignment would not work without these repairs. Plus they recommended over $1000 more on top of that for various other suspension type work. My husband had arrived by then and together we decided to go somewhere else. We went to Goodyear/Jordans Car Care on Galloway who replaced our front tires and did our alignment (alignment was $69). We didnt mention to them that they were the second opinion, just had them look at the car. It needed no special parts, no extra work. They even mentioned that the alignment wasnt very bad, it needed to be done, that the rough ride was mostly just the tires. I dont know if Pep Boys tried to rob me because I am female and was there alone when they first said it needed extra work, or if they lie to everyone about broken parts. But well never go there again or recommend them to anyone.

If I could give 10 I would...I was driving my 1967 Ford Falcon Futura Sport Coupe From Denver CO to South Florida and while in Dallas I heard a knocking. I stopped and checked it. I knew what the problem was, the water pump. But Im far from home. I have out-of-state tags, Luggage in the car. My first though was.. Oh no, I have to find an honest shop/ mechanic real quick. Fortunately for me, I pulled into the Pep Boys in Mesquite, Texas.... I had the pleasure of meeting ANDREW who is the master technician. Hes a younger man, but he immediately gave me the confidence that he has intelligence and experience that you do not find in a young mechanic especially with a carbureted straight 6... I already knew the exact condition of my car and new what it needed be fixed. So, I know for a fact that ANDREW gave me. A FAIR.. HONEST and COMPLETE estimate on my vehicle... I can not say enogh about ANDREWS INTEGRITY, ATTITUDE and PROFESSIONALISM You need to go to an honest shop, You need to see an honest man. Earlier today I ordered brake pads from advance auto. I picked them up in plano. When i got on the job in mesquite i discovered they were the wrong part. I called advance auto customer service. I was basically told I was out of luck. I was informed my only remedy was to drive 5 miles to the nearest advance auto and process a return and repurchase. The conundrum was the vehicle was metal to metal and tore down. I called pep boys in mesquite which was the closest to my location. Amber answered the phone and was very helpful. There were no games or BS. She heard my needs and responded with what she had in stock to fill such. I reassembled the vehicle and drove the 1.4 miles and the parts were waiting on me. 30 mins later the job was accomplished. After the inconsiderate and non caring attitude of advance autos customer service ( frustration, helplessness etc.) This was refreshing.

Really slow, and very rude. Broke 2 of my hub caps, and still no one seems to know when they will be replaced. We bought new tires for 3 of our vehicles and roadside assistance. When we tried to register the roadside assistance for the vehicles not one worked and no one will help with it, so now being almost a month after purchasing everything oh it’s now to late to register. Thanks for nothing. Would not give a star not even a negative star, but have to give at least one to write a review.

The actual technician was very informative and helpful but the manager of the service department had an attitude and even when I tried asking questions regarding MY car it seem to be a problem with him answering questions. Ordered and paid for a part. Expected it to come in a week later. Item was on backorder. I was never called ahead of time. I go on expected delivery date. Service teck on duty looked everywhere and checked the computer min of 6 times. After calling the service attendant that made the original sale he was informed of the backorder. What upset me the lost is the service attendant on duty didnt even offer to order a different one or help me in anyway just refunded my money. Left me high and dry!! Thanks!!!

I learned from the associate and mechanic there that my car was not in need of any repairs, only a cleaning which I was not charged for. I appreciated their honesty. Furthermore, the mechanic that worked on my vehicle was helpful and patient in explaining the potential causes and solutions to my issue, and answered all of my questions well.

Will never go here again 😀 I get 4 brand new tires in April, for the first 3 weeks everything was good the tires were fine. On the 4th weekI got a tire blowout and 2 of my other tires were flat as well. I was incredibly confused as to why my tire blew out after only 4 weeks, so I went back to pep boys and asked if I can get the tires replaced, they said no because I did not buy the warranty. Turns out my rims were bent and at the time I did not know, but the guy still installed my tires even though my rims were bent. They did not care, they just wanted my money !!

They just blew me off and so I went and took the same light to my dealer ship and they took care of it and I was back in business. Never will I go back to rude people there.

Went to pepboys at mesquite location for a leaking tire and tire was non repairable. After the mechanic inspection was given a estimate on tire and worn out ball joints. I had a warranty on tire and it was honored even though I had previously purchased tire from pep boys in dallas on buckner. This shop did a good job except I didnt like the long wait time and estimate for ball joint repairs were quite a bit higher than other auto shop.

Mr. Raphael is polite, but beware. There have been instances Where I was told I needed to replace things that really didnt need to be replaced, and not told about small fixes until they turned into big fixes. They are in the business of selling products instead of helping customers. I was a very loyal customer, but At this point anywhere is better. A $69 alignment could have saved my $400 Only got 15K miles on these tires with routine rotations.

Slowest service ever! I was the only one here! I’ve never seen someone take so long to repair a small nail puncture on a tire! The guy seemed to be making the glue for the patch. I could have gone to any other shop and been in and out with in 10mins! Not here! It took them an hour! And I stress again I was the only customer! Discount tire takes this long, but they actually have customer ahead of me and rotate plus balance my tires. I only had a simple flat repaired here!

I checked the PepBoys website and it clearly states they offer a free alignment check, but Ray the service manger side they didnt offer it. I was told they would check for worn front end parts for 19.95 and he checked the tires for wear pattern. I call the NW Hwy store and they honored the free alignment and earn my business. I also got bad spark plug info from the same guy in Mesquite years ago. Poor Leadership.

The staff werent very helpful or friendly. In 30+ minutes not one car moved off the lifts and 3 mechanics worked on one car with little sign of progress on others cars. Reserved a 2pm slot, left after 2:30 when my car wasnt anywhere close to being pulled in to the shop. The staff provided no updates or specifics on what was taking so long. Not sure why Pep Boys has an online appointment system - it didnt seem to make a difference on their management of customers and work.

Tried to tell me they checked my power steering pump before replacing it and when I picked my car up they wouldnt give me the old parts even after I offered to pay the core charge. This place tried to take advantage of my wife and when confronted with proper testing procedures and asked them for the results, I got my car back without a charge. Please do not have this place service your vehicle and if you just have too I would advise doing some research on your own when they tell you whats wrong with your vehicle and how they did their trouble shooting

The manager in the service department, dont have a good attitude tours the customer when i ask him why i was being charge for a diagnostic to my car when i was fixing the car there and also having an extended warranty thats going pay for the work. When i ask him about the charge he just told me and i quote and whose going to pay for the diagnostic, because its not going to be me And when i ask him why did Pet boys told me that i have to bring it to them, when i was going to take my car to my mechanic. He told me if you want take to your mechanic, after my car was brought to them. at the end instead of paying the $25.00 for the tow truck they ended up charging me $117. Thats a tricky way to still the service from honest people

I felt like bringing my business was a bit of a burden (had an oil change) and the guy in front didnt seem especially pleased when I mentioned the website cites a tire rotation with the oil change. He responded that they do it, but its not something they tell customers about. (??) I said Id like to also add a new filter to my order, and he sighed and asked which one, with a look like it was a stupid statement. I just dropped the subject. Upon leaving and getting on the highway (and since then), theres been some weird, small vibration noise near the left side of the engine at speeds over 70, but I didnt really think it would do much good to take it back given the demeanor prior. Ive just drive other cars and keep intending to have it checked out somewhere else.

Brought my car in to replace a bad tire still under warranty. After waiting over 1 hour, I was told it would cost close to $600 to replace all my tires due to dry rot. They had less than 30,000 miles on a 75,000 mile warranty and looked fine to me.When I explained the tire was under warranty, he disappeared and came back much later with a prorated cost to replace the bad tire. When I asked him about the dry rot, suddenly my tires were ok and didnt need replacing. Not to mention I was there over 3 hours. Never again.

I showed up at pep boys at 12:40 for a 1:00 appointment to be told rudely by Rodney that appointments don’t even matter - he points to all these papers on a wall to tell me all the walk ins have to be done regardless of my appointment time and that I would have to wait about 2 hours to get the tires installed that I purchased online- while a nice Nick was away seeing if my tires were in (THEY WERE NOT EVEN IN!! I don’t even know. I asked Nick to cancel my order and went to Jordan’s Car Care where I got a new set of Goodyear tires in less than one hour! AND THEY WERE NICE!! Just go to Jordan’s first- it will save you time and a lot of frustration.While I was at Jordan’s I got an email from pep boys stating they cancelled my appointment because I didn’t show up. Lol. What a joke.

Ive been going to this pepboys for 5 years now and I must say Brenda has always been top notch. Not saying anyone else is bad, but the way she communicates and talks to people makes you go back and deal with her Everytime. And if they dont have a part she will do everything in her power to get it for you.

Store number: 0717Greetings,I am very upset about my visit today. I came to purchase an expensive car battery. I was told there would be a $9.99 installation fee by Luis Delgadillo. I asked to see the breakdown of receipt. He initially gave me the wrong receipt. He then just verbally said $9.99 for installation. I pay then get the receipt and it says installation fee for $0.00. Online says free installation. Battery protection service charge $5.99, protectors and cleaning $4.00. He pretty much charged me for the optional $9.99 package. Also, there is no indication of the terminals being cleaned or no protectors in place. What Frauds. I should have definitely read reviews of this location before choosing to come here.I would like a refund for this charge. I did not want the optional package and this protector service was not even completed. I am very upset with this encounter and visit. This is my first visit to PepBoys and may be my last based on this experience.

HORRIBLE service. Ordered a weathertech mat for my 4Runner last week. On Monday it comes in and its the wrong mat for my vehicle. So they ordered another and I was assured it would be here by Thursday, Friday LATEST due to me needing it this weekend. Here we are on Friday and they have no idea where it is or when it will be in. Said Id just like to cancel and take my business else where and was told I would be charged a 20% restock fee for something they originally messed up on. Not worth the time and hassle. Will never shop here again.
