Jessie was so great to work with. She answered all of my questions and took the time to go over the car with me so I knew how everything worked. She also showed me the service department and how to bring my vehicle in for my free inspections and oil changes. And my used RAV4 was cleaned up like it was brand new, with a full tank and ready to go. I would definitely go there again and ask for Jessie. She makes you feel at home.

Purchase a truck recently from these guys and after about a week of driving the engine check light comes on I call and tell them about it and they agree to take a look at it and it came back that it needed the evap replaced so that fixes the problem, I drive for another week and now once again I have a check engine light on and the truck seems to be having trouble switching gears, there no way this vehicle was fully inspected before being placed on the lot. It’s a older truck I understand it’s not gone run like a 2021 but at the same time I thought I was buying a vehicle from a franchise lot not a buy here pay here. Don’t buy used vehicles from here they not fully serviced and their overpriced.

Gunnar Saunders was phenomenal to work with on purchasing a truck! My wife and I came by looking for a suv or just something simple for a A to B work vehicle and Gunnar was able to hook us up with a Truck that I always wanted, just didn’t think I could afford. The greatest part about working with Gunnar was that it never felt like a sale even from the very start of looking at vehicles. There was no pressure and my wife and I always felt like it was our decision which is how it should feel. I went to 4 different lots before here and every single one of them left that typical car salesmen vibe that pushes you away but working with Gunnar was a absolute blast and we really enjoyed it and also highly recommend seeing him for any of your vehicle needs.

Same issues every time my vehicle goes in for service or repair...what is said doesnt match with what is done. I was told my vehicle would take 3 days to repair but evidently after day 5 they lettering for the tailgate wasnt the same and wasnt ordered because it would require me to bring my vehicle back in to have it installed after it had already been there 5 days. I also requested an oil change be performed since it was sitting there all day without work being done on it. Oil and filter was changed but nothing else was checked. When the truck is turned on there is a warning that says, fuel filter needs checked. So when I asked if there is a check list used when doing oil changes the service rep said only when asked to do other things. So I left Pinkerton Chev with a dirty air filter and a fuel filter that said needed checked. I went somewhere else and they changed both for me. When I have to leave your service department and go somewhere else to get routine items changed or checked, it means Im not coming back. Unbelievable!

The absolute worse place I have ever taken a vehicle Every time I go there it takes at least a week for them to even look at my car. I get its a pandemic and help is hard to find, but maybe learn how to schedule things better. What I think will be a one day fix usually turns into a week long production. Also, if they do take way longer then they said good luck getting a loaner vehicle, there never seems to be any available. Go to Fellers if you can. This place is horrid.

I was greeted when I arrived and waited on promptly. The waiting area was clean and had chairs socially distanced. There was free bottled water available. My car was inspected and oil changed in a reasonable time. I was notified when they finished. The employees were very friendly and checkout was quick. I really enjoy my time when I go to Pinkerton for service on my Tahoe.

Had some work done. When picking up the car I noticed a funny sound when starting the ignition. An associate immediately followed me out and IDd the source of the sound as coming from the power steering system. He retrieved some fluid and added, turned the steering wheel to allow it to circulate, and the whining sound disappeared. Excellent service all around.

Scheduling an appointment was exceptionally easy and the individual was knowledgeable and pleasant. She informed us of two recalls of which we had yet to receive information and scheduled those to be done at the same time. Driving into the bay the service department was waiting for us and completed the work in a timely manner, communicating with us via text as we waited. The ENTIRE group should be commended for their outstanding customer service. It is so lacking in todays world and when it is provided it should be acknowledged and we will do our part to let the community know. Thank you.

I wish I had read the reviews first.I took my truck in for a recall and to get a $17 coolant sensor put on. They told me it would be 1 day. I got my truck back 3 days later with the recall not fixed and $516.00 labor fee for the changing the coolant sensor. Literally took it to my mechanic and he showed me exactly where the sensor was and explained that that cost ridiculous. I just tried to kill two birds with one stone but ended up paying for it. Dont take your trucks here for service repairs just go to your local mechanics.

I had oil leak issue and gave my car for servicing, they took almost a week to fix the issue but when I got it back just in one day when I drove it back to my place. I could see smoke coming out of hood and oil level dropped and there was pool of oil where I parked the car overnight. I had to bring back the car in less that 24 hours to the service center. After waiting for 1 week and spending lots of money if you didn’t get the car fixed it’s not working at all. Sorry to be rude, but it’s frustrating.

Customer Service nowadays usually isnt something most companies care about. However for my latest experience at Pinkerton I was amazed at the quality of service and how hard each individual worked to make sure my family was taken care of. Im usually one to only write a negative review(just check out my other reviews of various Lynchburg businesses). This review will only be positive because the people Im about to mention deserve the recognition. Daniel (Service Member), Chris (Service Manager), and Kyle (Mechanic) all went above and beyond what is expected of them.In the afternoon of Wednesday April 14 my wifes Traverse needed service. The problem required the car to stay over night so we were given a loaner vehicle while our car was in the shop. The part was going to take 2-10 days to get there and that wasnt good timing as my wife was also expecting our 3rd child on Friday April 16. Now our family of 4 was about to have a 5th and the vehicle we needed to have to haul all of us is now in the shop at the worst possible time.The first loaner vehicle they gave us was a Buick Envision which technically holds 5 but not with 3 car seats in the back side by side(one being a baby carrier). On my lunch break Thursday April 15, I explained to Daniel and David that the Envision was just to small and to see if they could accommodate something larger. Immediately they both got to work trying to get us something larger. While talking to them about the issue a Mechanic had recently finished another customers vehicle; which meant that customer could bring back an Acadia which seats 7 because of the 3rd row. I was fine with using the Acadia while we waited to get our car fixed.So later on that evening on Thursday April 15 we go to switch out the Buick Envision for what would be an Acadia. To my surprise they have a Suburban ready for us to use as a loaner. This was well above my expectation and it comfortable fit a pregnant women due in less than a day and a full size 250 lb man and our 2 kids, along with the baby carrier. Needless to say we were shocked and extremely grateful for the hard work that went into finding that suburban for us. Earlier in the day all the loaner vehicles had been given out but to come through big at the end of the day like that was nothing short of a herculean effort by the Service Team.Well as fate would have it my wife went into the hospital on Thursday night and gave birth to our 3rd child on Friday morning. And of course by luck, fate or the hard work of many people behind the scenes; somehow the part for our car got to the dealer on Friday and the Mechanic, Kyle, worked it into his schedule to have our Traverse fixed and ready to be picked up on Friday evening. We couldnt come then to get the vehicle as my wife hadnt been discharged from the hospital by then but we did however get to go pick it up the following day, Saturday April 17.I cannot stress how helpful the people mention above were in our time of need. Most people in customer service might not think they can actually effect someones life. These people did, so to Daniel, Chris and Kyle; I saw thank you and God bless. My family really appreciates the hard work you do and I hope this post finds its way to many others to show that not everyone is just there to collect a paycheck. Some people actually care about what they do and how they can help others. Thanks you guys for reminding me as well.

While in route to visit my daughter, I was involved in an accident on 9/7/21 that resulted in a total loss of my car. She picked me up and returned to her home in Fredericksburg. My husband came to get me on Thursday, and we were returning to Vinton on Friday. We rode thru Pinkertons lot just to see what was available. I was exhausted and really did not want to deal with buying a car! We saw one we both liked and said lets just do it and get it over with. Scott understood we did NOT want to play around! We were hesitant to go to a dealership but when I tell you is was a amazing experience, let me tell you, we were back immediately after to buy a second vehicle. We worked with Jessie and didn’t want to go anywhere but straight back to her. She got us an AMAZING DEAL and when I say above and beyond, let me tell you, my wife surprises me with the second vehicle as a present and Jessie even drove it to my gym as a surprise and videotaped my reaction. We arrived in Lynchburg yesterday and needed the right rear axle seal replaced because it was leaking. I called the service department and left a message because they were busy. Candace called back later in the afternoon and I explained the issue, indicated that we would only be in town until the following Monday and needed to get this work done. She stated that they were booked into next week but would see what she could do and call me back. She called about an hour later and informed me that the parts had been ordered and that I could bring my 3500 Chevrolet in the next morning. When I arrived, Candace was busy so another service writer placed my order and got things rolling. When the work was completed, Candace came and got me and told me the work was covered under warranty. I ask her if there was a car wash close by and she had one of their service techs take my truck and get it washed. She didnt have to do this, but it was appreciated. These people, especially Candace, went out of their way for me and due to their efforts, I have no problem recommending Pinkerton Chevrolet.

After moving away from home and my Dad (who works on cars).. I have been looking for a place to trust and take care of my car.. the first time I had work done at the dealership it took almost 2 weeks (I didnt think much of it because I thought.. well.. maybe its complicated work).. today when I went for an oil change and tire rotation (which I had an appointment for!!) I waited 2.5 hrs.. I mean yeah they took off $15 from my cost.. but why does this take so long with an appointment?! I literally spent my afternoon waiting on my car when I had other things to do. I was told on the phone when I made the appointment it would take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.. I told them I needed to wait on it. I am thankful for Kate and the fact that she acknowledged how ridiculous it was but still its so frustrating.

Set up appt online for 30000 mile service. They only changed oil and told me that I didnt request tire rotation which was clearly included w/the service I requested. Told me I must have dont it wrong. Showed him where it clearly showed it on my confirmation & then he said must have been computer problem. Made two trips & not once did he simply say would you like for us to go ahead and do the rotation...no, not once!!! This was the very last time that I will come back there. Will be taking both my vehicles to Jim Price in Charlottesville, never had any problems there but pinkerton has been nothing but poor service. Wish I hadnt even bought my vehicle from there. Will never recommend this place to anyone !! Told him to tell service manager but guessing he didnt or wasnt worth anyone making a follow up phone call. Im done & finished with Pinkerton.

I was in search of a mid sized SUV and a reliable one at that. Gunnar Saunders pointed me in the direction of a Toyota Highlander and after I did some research on the car itself I got in touch with him and he made it happen smoothly and efficiently and helped me save some money in the process. The whole Pinkerton Staff was professional and respectful. If I ever decide to trade this highlander in since they hold their value I’ll definitely be contacting Gunnar. I have been very impressed with the low pressure environment at Pinkerton. Fred Doswell is a very down to Earth salesman. Totally recommended.Revised review- I was promised free oil change and an alignment for the first service call. I got the oil change but charged me $70.00 for the alignment. The sales manager said I could have hit a pothole. I only put 5k on the vehicle. The car only has 10k on it. Not good customer service after the car has been purchased.

I had purchased a used vehicle 4/29/21, Not even even 3 weeks my car stalls out took it right back to Pinkerton and was told they will take my car they did give me a loner . So now they have had my car for about 3 weeks still not fixed! Been texting with Scott who sold me the car saying there’s nothing they can do besides having to wait which isn’t okay I’m making payment on a car I don’t have… tried to follow back today 6/8/21 and asked for a manager and Scott stated he involved the gm and apparently she has nothing to do with this ! Unprofessional and unacceptable. I’m not rich and was taken advantage of through this company. They will not take the car back even though all signs point to it being a lemon!

My first time getting a vehicle fixed when I came to pick it up I had whole other problem than when I dropped it off. I was frustrated at this point they offered another diagnosis test which I had just payed for but they did it for free. After that I need 1800 to fix this new problem after paying 3,000 the first time. Chris Mays the service manager sat down and worked his magic after listening and understanding that this was wrong. He really made my day and fixed my situation. Thanks Chris Mays you the best.

My husband and I had a great car purchase experience at Pinkerton Chevy!! Our salesperson, Ernest Robinson was awesome!! He was very friendly and knowledgeable about all of the vehicles offered, and was not pushy. He actually cared about what our needs and purchase desires were....not about making the sale. We purchased a beautiful new 2020 Buick Encore GX. Ernest made our purchase easy and he did everything he said he would do. He made sure, before we left the car dealership, that we knew what every feature on our new car did. My husband and I were both so impressed with him and Pinkerton Chevy.

In fact, Im reluctant to call him a salesperson, but rather a buyers advocate. No pressure, no, how much to buy today or other typical sales slogans. I scheduled the vehicle in through the service manager. An estimate was obtained and the vehicle was immediately scheduled. Work was completed ahead of anticipated schedule. Vehicle was returned with replacement part working correctly.

I stopped in to look at (and hopefully purchase) a Tahoe I found on the GM educator site. Unfortunately, this dealer does not honor these national discounts on popular vehicles. Completely their business since “people are ordering and paying MSRP”. Not a really big deal to me since other dealers are offing the incentive. It is just too bad they can’t remove themselves from the search to save everyone involved (including them) the time.
