Matt is a pro at his craft. He does what needs to be done and nothing else and he gives you all options up front and lets you decide how much or what it is you want done. I always trust Matt to do a good and fair job and the vehicle will be in tip top shape once you leave the shop. I got a tuneup, new tires and oil change on my first trip to the shop and it was an A+. The most recent trip I was having issues with timing chain and weird sounds from my wheels. Turns out Matt had to troubleshoot a little and discovered wheel bearings as a source of the noise. He had the truck figured out and repaired in a matter of hours. If you want your vehicle maintenance to be done by a pro, Matt is your man at McCormick Motorsports.

I called several shops around downtown Louisville before going with McCormick’s. From the first phone conversation I had with the proprietor of McCormick’s, I got a feeling he was STRAIGHTFORWARD, HONEST, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I was right. On the day we agreed upon, he performed my overdue maintenance timing belt replacement (and accompanying rollers, water pump, coolant flush, etc.) for a competitive price and got my 2000 Honda Accord EX back the same day, which is amazing because it’s a big job and no other shop could arrange this. Other places were saying this was a 6-7 hour job and he got it done in 5. Grossman Tuning was trying to charge me $1100 for the same job and he did it for $580. Additionally, I asked him a ton of questions (I would like to think I asked somewhat intelligent questions) and he was more than happy to answer them in detail. He also noticed I had a misfire and showed me how to change my spark plugs myself, including which tools, to save money. He also diagnosed my known power steering line leak (topped up the power steering fluid too) and quoted me a price to fix it in the future at around HALF THE PRICE of my old mechanic. Also, my hood latch had been giving me issues and he fixed it in like 5 seconds with pliers and some lube. He also told me that my brake sensor is going bad (sometimes I have to pump the brakes a couple times to shift into reverse). He showed me how to use the keyhole next to the shifter to start my car in neutral in the event it ever gets stuck in park, so I don’t get stuck somewhere.McCormick’s has excellent customer service with great attention to detail and competitive pricing. I’ve gone to a handful of shops over the years and I’d strongly recommend this one to anyone.

The owner is very responsive, very respectful of my budget limitations and is the first mechanic to ever take the time to really explain what my car needs and why. Just took in my 15 year old car in this week and could not be happier with the work done!

Good dude. Fair price. While there is a lot of shady mechanics here in Louisville it’s good to know there are a few good ones left. And by that I mean he puts the customer first with a very reasonable price. It’s difficult to find a reliable mechanic that will talk you through the issues and have the patience to answer all of your inane questions. So I was real cautious about having my vehicle worked on because of so many horrible past experiences with mechanics. This was a completely different story. I called this place and not only was the gentleman I spoke to super polite and knowledgeable but seemed excited to meet my vehicle and also myself. I had a wheel bearing that was shot to hell and not only did it get fixed but Matt also took the time and knowledge he has to replace my axle as well. He worked with me on a agreeable price and also still wants to do some other things to my vehicle. I have now made this the only person I will let work on vehicle. If you need a mechanic, Matt is the guy I trust and you should as well.
