I really wanted to like this place (it was recommended) but I cannot recommend it myself. When you first walk in its a bit confusing where to order and staff has to direct you to the side isle. But they dont have a clear accessible menu. You have to scan a QR code. And if that doesnt work you must find them online (while in store) to look up their menu. But the menu online didnt show prices, unless you tap the top order now button...but not the bottom order now button...that just took you to an error page.Confusing, right? And I dont know if the staff were having a bad day that day, but they rushed us and answered our questions as if we were annoying to them.I have to say the theme is really cool and they go all out with it, but the drink I had was too sweet to finish. It was premade mix and couldnt be customized. I bought the $8 macaroon latte.I definitely expected more from this experience.
Such a cool experience even though the inside wasn’t available. The drinks are so cool and tasty with interesting pairings that do NOT disappoint! Expand your horizon!!! It’s truly an experience!!! I never thought I’d enjoy lemonade and espresso… but here we are! And the donut—- OH MY GAWD!This chocolate donut was rich, and moist, and the perfect consistency. Black people understanding the assignment. Meeting quality, with customer service at the highest level and creativity that only we possess. Pure. MAGIC. (Pun intended!)
Ohhh my gawwddd. If you love coffee with some witchcraft abs wizardry, you will love this place!I was working at our corporate office abs decided to walk around and check out a nearby coffee shop. Little did I know, I was walking into a magical realm of deliciousness snacks and drinks like mandrake matcha, dragons breath, sorcerers tears and cold brew cauldron.I got the mischief macaroon latte and it was delicious. The entire aesthetic was so well thought out and creative! You could tell that they really wanted to create a unique experience for their customers. The employees were so kind, helpful and attentive.I am so happy I found this place and plan to visit every time I’m at corporate.
Found my new favorite place. I absolutely love the detailed and well thought out decor of this place. The avocado toast is the best I’ve ever had. The only down side is I wish it was open longer but still a good spot
My friend and I visited Nimbus Coffee at 10am on a Sunday. I snagged free metered parking across the street. Theres also a parking structure next door. The line moved quickly and the staff was very friendly. There was ample seating inside so we were able to sit and admire the Harry Potter-inspired decor.I ordered the Witches Cold Brew (blend of oat milk, condensed milk, spices). I prefer drinks with less sugar so Im glad it wasnt overly sweet - just the right amount.Im looking forward to coming back and trying a new drink and the food next time.
Black owned, black empowerment, Harry Potter themed, and absolutely delicious, what more do you want? Oh friendly and fast staff too? Yup, you got it. Oh plenty of seating? Dog friendly? Check and check. Seriously this place might be my new local spot.
This place was amazing. The coffee was delicious as were the many pastries we tried. The service was great as was the ambiance. I am a little over Harry Potter but was super excited to see how fun and cute the theme of this restaurant was. I want to go back every day.
This is a cute little place with a Harry Potter theme like coffee shop. The food and staff are wonderful. The coffee is amazing and so are the drinks. I highly recommend this place
Indoor seating is now available! Still lots of outdoor seating options. Very clean. Metered street parking available. This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised to find that I could enter the cafe and see all the amazingly creative and fun Afro-centric wizarding art! I loved the Witches Cold Brew. I thought it tasted just like Biscoff cookies but not too sweet. The BLT was also super yummy. A ton of of crunchy perfectly cooked bacon was balanced perfectly with the generous mound of arugula, heirloom tomato, and delightfuly buttery brioche bun. The staff was very friendly and helped my friend with dietary restrictions decide on the Notorious Black which they ended up loving. They also loved the vegan burrito.
I highly recommend your coffee shop to all of my family and friends who also love coffee! Yesterday, I came here to relax my mind from stress. I was so happy with the place because it was so good for those who are stress. Thank you so much for serving my order immediately! You must be known by many! Cheers!
You are the best coffee shop in our spot that I have ever known. For those people who love pastries and coffee, this place is great. For almost a year, Ive been coming to your place, but somehow, the taste of your coffee and pastries is the same. You deserve to be ranked high, guys! Oh! Cheers!
Nice and kind staff! Coffee (pour-over) was pretty good. Pastry (raspberry danish) was unfortunately a bust. This place is more about atmosphere than it is the quality of the food and beverages.
I came in a couple of days ago and someone who seems to be of a managerial background discussed something with an employee that didnt see appropriate to discuss in front of patrons. It was clear that this employee felt uncomfortable and they definitely shouldve taken them to the side to have that discussion. Very unprofessional.
Best avacado toast ever! Took a little while but it was worth it. The decor is great, the concept and creative drinks are wonderful, I preferred when they served in the prettier cups, but due to covid we are stuck with disposables. Only reason its not 5 star is the size, it is tiny and cramped if you want to sit inside and appreciate the decor, just not enough room for how popular it is. They have some outside seating but if you ask me you miss out on the experience by sitting outside. Also it is quite pricey. Other than that its such a pleasure. A lot of love goes into this place and it shows.
So cute! The drinks and pastries are great and there’s lot of room to study.
Pretty on brand with the Harry Potter franchise and series. If youre a major HP fan or know someone that is, definitely take them here. The food may be really pricey, but it is worth the experience. That being said, the food and drinks were really good, and if youre into CBD, they can add that to drinks and I believe food as well (though I think for an extra charge) labeled under Magic.I ordered the BLT with avocado and a matcha latte iced and both were really good though the BLT had a kick of spice (?) and was huge so do come hungry if youre planning to come for the food.My only wish is that we could have sat inside to add to the experience as we were celebrating a birthday, but unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we ended up sitting out on the bench right out front.Overall though, it was a pretty positive experience and I would come again to try and sit inside, but its definitely better to bring a hardcore Harry Potter fan along.
Awesome place! The crew all made us feel welcomed and the food and drinks were absolutely amazing! Thank you for making my best friends birthday magical!!!
Delicious vegan shake! Avocado toast can also be made vegan and was very tasty. Fun decor. Highly recommend for Harry Potter fans.
Honestly one of the coolest coffee shops Ive been to with excellent quality coffee! I am from OC and Ive still driven there a handful of times because I love it so much! Really cool spot, convenient parking, such a cute themed interior/exterior, very accommodating service, great food/drinks - they really hit all the bases! I went during COVID and Im excited to see this place when it reopens to its full capacity, Ill be back with all my friends for sure! (love the Sirius Black drink its perfect)
I didn’t expect much but the coffee was actually pretty good. But I liked the desserts way better. They have a big list from where you can choose anything that you will like. Went there with roommates and we got all different things and surprisingly I liked everything I tried
Sadly, I think they’ve closed for good... I think. They haven’t updated their IG, which is a sign of the times we’re in. They stayed open for most of the year of pandemic and quarantine, so I give them great credit for trying their best to stay afloat. Their drinks were creative and fantastic and the avocado toast was the best I’ve ever had. I pray they make a comeback, but nearly all the businesses on that side of the street are now shuttered and gone for good, so I’m hoping it’s just a problem of a revamp, but again, there’s been no update, so I’m thinking the worst. Call before you stop by, so you don’t make the trip for nothing.
You come here mainly for the decor. Everything is very cleverly contrived to look like Harry Potter themed. The environment is great. Comfortable seats and overall good service. I ordered the white tea which came in a nice pink cup with a sugar candy stirer. Flavor was a little too strong for me, and for the price I hoped for a bit more tea. Presentation was overall good though.
I’m going to be 100% honest: even as a HP fan, I had reservations about this place. Things like this pop up in my city often, and it’s usually lazily named, kind of gross drinks and a few cardboard cutouts/posters. But I was in the area for a show so I figured I could use it to kill time. I was so wrong about Nimbus Coffee. The art is all original, and absolutely gorgeous. There were suited people having business meetings in here, unbothered by the subtle but well done theming. The coffee itself was delicious. As a Harry Potter fan this place was a beautiful playground with surprises in every corner. As a non HP fan, it would still be a cafe with delicious drinks, nice staff, and a cool vibe. Highly recommend and hope it sticks around.
Very fun coffee shop! I got cold brew and the lemon poppyseed loaf. The coffee was very strong! The lemon loaf was delicious and so moist! The decor was great - very cozy looking chairs, great HP themed art, nice seating area outside. The employees were very nice and very fast considering how crowded it was.
Super cute place but unfortunately they’re still not letting people in the store. Will need to go back when they open everything back up. The drink I got was delish though!
Good coffee, cute Harry Potter theme cafe
The place gets packed but they handle it well. The diverse staff makes me feel safe and the coffee is all unique, fanciful, and delicious.
Amazing coffees, very comfortable seatings and the inside is beautiful. A Must in LA
Absolutely delicious! Friendly baristas! The Avocado Toast is very flavorful and the BLT had generous portion of bacon. Highly recommend.
I don’t know if there was something in the air but the owner of the establishment was extremely abrasive, I’ve heard mixed reviews on this place and unfortunately I was dealt with an unwelcoming atmosphere. I’d never go again
Creative offerings. Quality ingredients. Delicious drinks and food items. You get what you pay for but in this case it was a bit more expensive than that. 4 food items, 3 drinks, 2 pastries nearly $120 tip included. I dont know. Minus 1 star for the price tag plus the customer service was marginal at best. If staff was extra attentive I wouldnt blink at the price but they were not exceptional. They were marginally acceptable.
Little pricey. Atmosphere is nice
They have great coffee and great bagel sandwiches, and I was happy with my grilled cheese and asparagus sandwich. We enjoy going there whenever possible. Its clean, well run, and the owners are genuinely nice people. A highly recommendable coffee shop!
Really nice staff and great decor! All the drinks are so creative. I got a BLT and they piled on the bacon which I loved 💖 keep up the good work!
I wish we couldve walked inside but I understand 😕. The AVOCADO TOAST IS A MUST it was so DELICIOUS! We loved the witches Cold Brew.
The coffee and their menu were very delicious and tasty! We ordered Cappuccino and a doughnut this morning. The staff and employees were very friendly, too. The ambiance was great! It was cozy, comfortable, and pleasing to the eyes. I highly recommended this coffee shop! I will visit again here soon.
Super cute shop with delicious pastries!
Came here during our trip to LA because we love Harry Potter and wanted to try the themed cafe. sadly the dining area isn’t open to public right now, obviously not their fault. but we paid $50 for two drinks and a piece of avocado toast, none of which was that tasty. they did present it very well, it just didn’t taste good & wasn’t worth the high price. customer service was good.
Would be nice to not have to wait 35 minutes for food that wasn’t even prepared correctly. Literally said hey you forgot this and the girl still moved our food to the cashier. I was too frustrated to care at that point.
Called this place and was informed they were open from 8 - 2 and drove up with my sister (huge HP fan) from San Diego to see this place only have them be closed due to Air Quality. If you dont want to work then dont tell people your open when your just looking for excuse to close shop.
Friendly staff but the coffee isnt great, Two of us costed 17 bucks for about 7 sips, cups mostly filled with ice. Its just here for the nostalgia factor nothing to come back to twice. Very long wait for us being the only ones ordering.
This place is an unexpected delight. Not so loosely hp themed that is done in just the right way. The choices are fun and delicious. The food was amazing.
The coffee here was pretty good! Shame the shop was only open for walk up.
Its a pretty nifty Harry Potter themed coffee shop. I can see how it can be popular, also hope that it has some sort of longevity. We went during a soft opening and for the short amount of time this cafe was open, it was packed. From people wanting to try a new coffee spot, Potterheads in costume posting selfies with the decor and people like myself who have only ever watched the movies I was enamored with what they were trying to accomplish, especially when it came to the artwork and decorations. That being said, I am glad that it was only a soft opening because there are some improvements that could be made. First off, I know that the restaurant is named Nimbus Coffee but Harry Potter is British and the cafe didnt have any selection of Tea. Which is unfortunate since theres a giant Harry Potter-esque newspaper on the wall called The Daily TeaSupposedly there was lightning bolt cookies that had already sold out by the time we arrived. There could also be more themed pastries but then I understand how copyrights can get a little iffy. The drinks/mocktails were alright and I can see the appeal. We ordered the watermelon weasley and it was like a watermelon mojito. We also ordered the Mad Egg Moody which was a breakfast dish and the biggest gripe I have is how difficult it is to eat it since the bowl wasnt made for it. The food kept sliding everywhere for the sake of decor. Im guessing they were more focused on what would be Instagram worthy rather than functional.Im hoping they improve upon what they have since it seems like something that has a lot of staying power. Also cant wait for an actual menu.
Fun experience! COVID restricted us from going inside, which was a bummer (understandably). Drink selection could’ve been a little more customizable... maybe like a frozen option? Still cool!
Tried the notorious black which tasted great! Due to covid tho there is no sit in right now. Service is friendly & quick even when busy.
The decorations and vibe was definitely worth the trip. The food looked so magical. 100% the decorations and looks were top notch. The taste was opposite, to our dismay. The pop tart tasted like nothing with a hint of jam, the ginger latte tasted purely of unflavored almond milk, the charcoal rosemary latte tasted of nothing with unpleasant tasting stuff at the bottom of the cup.
How cute and comforting! 💕🥰I ordered their hand made pop tart. It had strawberry filling and I even got some strawberry bits in there (not an artificial syrup filling!!!) xoxo next time Ill order 2; 1 for the moment and 1 to heat up at home 😍Chai Latte had a lot of spice -- nothing like the starbucks chai that is overly sweet. Definitely recommend
I love this place almost as much as I love Harry Potter.I wish it was more choices and more Harry Potter themed items but for now everything is great.
Didnt go to adventurous but had an excellent pour over black coffee. Incredible vibe from the employees and building, plus beautiful art outside of it.
The people are amazing here! Super friendly! The hazelnut coffee is also really good. Ive had it iced and hot and highly recommend it. If you like sparkling water, I highly recommend the giggle waters. Really love the Harry Potter universe feel.
I really love stopping by here on my way to work. Its always quick and everything is fresh. If you are a drinker of coffee and enjoy the flavor, this is where its at. Try the iced coffee!
This decor and the atmosphere of this little cafe are pretty incredible! The amount of thought and time that went into this really show. It is definitely on the more pricey side though (not surprising) and I wish for just a bit more variety. My friends tried one of the treats, but did not enjoy it. Cant say anything for the rest. Overall it is a great experience though!
Super COVID friendly set up and friendly staff. Coffee was delicious and so cute
Just the best black owned Harry Potter themed coffee shop ever! The potions are delicious, you might be in love after one taste because I solemnly swear they are up to no good 😂😜😍🥰
Great vegan options, great service
Super cute and amazing Notorious latte 😍
This is such an AMAZING place! Not only is their food and drinks delicious, the place is so magical! The attention to detail allows you to discover something new every time I go! The staffs are extremely nice and its definitely a popular place as everyone comes to experience it no matter what day of the week it is!!
Being able to just eat, chill, do homework at this coffee shop is literally dreams coming true, especially for Harry Potter fanatics!! Its such a cute place to be at, and its like a memorabilia of all things Harry Potter! The food yall! If you ever get the chance, try the Tuna Sandwich AND the School Daze shake! They are great!
Took a Sunday stroll to try a new brunch place. I chose the place because they have my new favorite thing; avocado toast. That was delicious and did ant disappoint. I was a little disappointed that they didnt have sugar free syrup for a latte so just had black tea without sugar. Being from MN, I was also looking forward to sitting outside. I was able to sit at one of the 3 tables and didnt even mind that its on a busy intersection. I would come again to try one of the delicious looking pastries
Witches cold brew was good.
This is such a fun spot! My friend and I came around noon on a Thursday and there was no line but it was pretty full. Still, we got comfortable seats. They have a pretty small menu but also some good pastry items to eat. The decor is amazing! So many fun little Harry Potter inspired things so great for photos. The staff was very friendly as well. Its on a random street in DTLA but close to Staples Center. I didnt park but its just street parking.
The atmosphere inside was cozy, relaxed and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive. A nice place to come back to.
Popped into this place for lunch while at a conference down the street at the Hudson Loft, and it was a treat! My sandwich was delicious, and the staff was very friendly. Not cheap, but if youre into Harry Potter at all, its a very cool vibe. Comfy seating too!
Great coffee place and even better if you like Harry Potter. Everyone was very nice and even though I only ordered tea and matcha, both were very good and great on a cold and rainy day. Even though they dont have Harry Potter official gear, it was really cool having the names of the drinks similar to the things found in the book/movies.
This place is amazing. Great aesthetic and friendly staff. Plenty of vegan options (both food and drinks). The blueberry water I had was awesome. Would definitely reccomend this place. It wasnt crowded on a Friday at 3pm; it was really peaceful.
