Charming patio with umbrellas and plants. We had Fresh squeezed orange juice, sea salt caramel latte, challah French toast, bagel sandwich and lovely scones. Beautiful establishment.
Pretty good. Its a USA style scone. Was hoping for a British style
Very disappointed in this place. Came here from all the good reviews and nice pictures and the only good thing was the outside of the building and the nice patio. The baristas were rude and the only food that tasted fresh was the fruit. Ive worked in customer for years we literally just felt like an inconvenience to this staff. When they got our order wrong instead of making it right they just shoved a receipt in my face and said this is what they charged me for. Oh... okay...Well your food sucks and your customer service is terrible so yah we wont ever be coming back.
I like this place but I think the food is a way over priced- I had a breakfast burrito for $10 and bacon was $3 extra- $13 for a breakfast burrito, seriously!? And it was kinda eh tbh. But the coffee is good! I got a Large Vanilla latte for $5.75. It’s definitely an Entertainment hub for meetings, I heard a lot of pitch meetings around me and screenwriters working. If that’s your thing, come hang out here. The decor is extremely eclectic and mish mosh, not my favorite. There’s a lot of outside seating which is good with tons of power outlets. The parking is all metered, (you might have to drive around a few times bc there’s not a lot), so be sure to stay on top of your meter, bc you will get a ticket.
Such a great little Cafe. Scones are the closest to British ones Ive found and you can get a whole pot of te for yourself S you write away near one of their plentiful outlets.
Absolutely delicious traditional scones! I ordered right before closing and they were so kind to follow up with me about some scones not being available and being able to replace them with others versus just canceling my order. Would definitely make the drive over and over again for these yummy scones!
Subpar and overpriced, found a bug and multiple hairs in my food. Cute outdoor area if you want to enjoy a coffee (but not a mocha because it’s just a latte with a mound of store-bought chocolate syrup in it); anything beyond enjoying a simple cup of coffee on their patio, not worth coming.
Nothing really bad, its just that there were no open tables as so many writers were working (read: some were actually sleeping). One person/writer at each table. Probably wont go back. I just wanted to drink my drink and eat a sweet treat. :-(
Plenty of shade at the front patio. You can hear peoples conversations. It didnt bother me, but it may bother some. There are plugs and extension cords everywhere. The second floor is closed, I assume due to the pandemic.
Favorite cafe to study/network/meet friends. Many seatings available (COVID adjusted separation boards also!) and the place is beautifully decorated. Most importantly, their coffee and food are phenomenal!!! House coffee was simple but so good. All the food I’ve tried have pleasantly surprised me and made me want to come back even more often! Absolutely love this place!
It is a very cozy place and the food is great. They have tables setup in front and back of the building.
Not sure how this coffee joint has 4 stars. It was a major disappointment. I ordered the caramel sea salt latte with an extra shot of espresso. Sounds delicious right?? WRONG! It tasted like it had some sugar free add ins, which left a bad after taste. I think they got their shots of espressos mixed up with their shots of Z Quil because all the coffee did, was put me to sleep. The second star is just for their ambience, which was pleasant. There are soooooooo many other coffee joints. Dont waste your money here, learn from my mistake.
Very nice place for brunch. The patio is telle cosy. Bring your laptop, enjoy the ambiance... the food is really delicious too. Many different options in the menu for both food and drinks. I recommend!!
I got the fig and rosemary cookie which was suuper yummy. Street parking near there are all 2 hour limits, but I just drove a couple blocks down into the suburbs and was able to park for as long as I needed to ^^ The owner lady was super nice and she looked me in the eye and said ENJOY (: which made me feel welcomed! :)
What a cute, unassuming spot! I was craving a BLT sandwich all week, and when I came here for some coffee, was pleasantly surprised to see it on the menu (among a wide variety of other foods). Suffice to say, the BLTA (yes, avocado) was exquisite. Love the outdoor seating, and on a sunny day, it was just a beautiful reminder of why I moved down to LA. Indoor seating is very quaint and a great working space as well!
One of the coziest cafe in LA! Love it :)
I had a nice brunch here, everything tasted nice and fresh
Ample seating, decent food for the price (cheaper than most LA coffee shops), huge food menu, extremely kind staff. Can’t speak on the coffee as I only drink tea. Easy street parking. Only downside is the WiFi blows whether it’s crowded or not. If you’re coming here to work be prepared for the WiFi to constantly stop working. But a great spot to chill or if you don’t need great WiFi.
Bricks & Scones is everything Ive been looking for! Its an adorable little cafe with charm, character, free wifi, and comfortable tables and seats for studying! It looks so beautiful when you approach it, situated in a converted house, and an outdoor patio in the front. Once you enter, theres high ceilings with a beautiful chandelier and drapes hanging down, and a brick wall leading up to a loft area with comfy couches and tables. Its perfect for studying!Got one of their cheesecakes and a Very Berry smoothie, both were delicious! Spent the whole day studying there. Comfortable, relaxing, perfect location to either kick back or get some work done! Ill definitely be back.
So happy to be able to visit in person again for the first time since the initial lockdown
We stayed a few blocks from here and where our hotel offered breakfast for a pretty penny, I remembered seeing this little coffee shop is mentioned, and I am so glad I did! They offer all the traditional breakfast items, but they do have nice nutritional options too. I wouldnt hesitate in stopping by here no matter what time of day!
I ordered the salmon benedict. I thought it wasnt bad, but the benedict style didnt work so well for me. I thought it would be a nice twist to eggs benedict, but the salmon was pretty strong and it felt more like lox on a bagel. The staff were friendly, but when there is only outdoor seating, its sometimes very difficult to hear when they call your name stating that your order is ready. I had to go back up to the counter just to check if they actually called my name already for pick up.
This place is a lovely place to get a bite to eat. It’s cosy and they have a great selection of treats. The only issue is, and it’s not their fault but there are a lot of customers using it as place to do their work, and we felt we could not talk properly because we would be disturbing them, so you kinder end up eating in silence.
Expensive and extras will get you. If the menu says extra meat is it safe to say that it contains some meat? Rip off in my book. Disappointed.
Delightful food, great coffee, great environment
Just visited for the first time and am absolutely in love with this place! I came in to do some work for a few hours and ended up ordering food three times because it was so tasty. Started off with a mint lemonade & strawberry/coconut scone—was super impressed with the scone, especially since it was vegan and I feel like delicious vegan baked items can be hard to find! Had the caprese sandwich for a light lunch and found it delightful and then grabbed a lemon muffin & buttermilk cream cheese scone to go. Ate the scone in the sunshine on their patio while waiting for my Uber. Seriously lovely, hope I get the chance to come back! There is free wi-fi and there are plenty of spaces to sit and work both inside and out.
First come first served self-seating policy is interesting. Around 10 tables available at the front, 4 in back. More than half of the tables were taken up by groups of people on laptops (frustrating for those who want to come, eat, and leave). Food was good but overpriced for the quality (ex. Microwaveable bacon). Coffee and scones were delicious.
Classy and affordable coffee shop! I highly recommend this shop to all of my family and friend who also love coffee. I came here yesterday, and I was so happy and satisfied with the overall service. I like your staves because they were so friendly and courteous. You deserve to be known by many, guys! Thank you so much!
Staff are friendly. Coffee is unique and taste great. Parking is available, its just finding a table can be difficult.!!
I love this place! It’s super chill, great food and coffee and smoothies! Awesome place to plug up, get on WiFi and work on your laptop. The staff is really nice also.
Perfect little hole in the wall cafe, thats off the beaten path and perfect for a hot drink and yummy snack. It has a wonderfully filled out menu with plenty of tasty things. Perfect for writing or having a chat. The ambiance is perfect and the interior is quite chic and charming. Please do yourself a favor and check it out.
Had a great iced coffee on the patio a couple of weeks ago. It was nice to be able to sit and chat with a friend as well as fellow patrons...at a distance of course. Great service and the coffee was delish.
Worst Matcha Latte Ive ever had. I was given a room temperature drink and was told that they had to use hot water to mix the powder. You do not need hot water to make an iced Matcha Latte. These guys have no idea of what they are doing.
This place is so chill and everyone is so nice. The person in front of me actually bought my drink which was nice of him!! The coffee is great and the place itself is so cool. They have an outdoor patio so I sat outside a did my work. The food is also really good I got the caprese sandwich and they toasted it so it was nice and toasty and melty which was really good.
The atmosphere here was so lit! Relaxing and wonderful ambiance. Service is friendly and fast. All the baristas are so wonderful and me so welcomed. Worth the stop for a good coffee and the occasional almost croissant. Really enjoyed my experience at this cafe. Tables are plentiful and Id love to come back one day to just chill.
Love this place. Best scones I’ve had- way better than chain coffee shops. The espresso is strong and flavorful as well.
Perfect little whole in the wall cafe, thats off the beaten path and perfect for a hot drink and yummy snack. It has a wonderfully filled out menu with plenty of tasty things.
Good food and coffee. Fair prices. Perfect place to get work done with their backroom area. Only thing stopping me from giving five stars is the service. Employees are all business and not super friendly. I’ll chalk it up to a stressful day and see how the experience is next time I come in.
A great coffee spot on Larchmont. Im especially fond of this place during any time thats not the weekend. (Like the rest of Los Angeles :).) When I worked in the area, it was the perfect spot to pop into on a weekday morning to avoid the massive line that is always at the Larchmont Starbucks. The iced coffee is good each time, and the staff is always friendly. The space itself is interesting and comes with a lot of little areas that would make working here on a weekday ideal. The outdoor patio is also surrounded with plants which helps you forget that youre on a busy street. Bottom line: worth a visit.
Cool & cozy little coffee shop. They have a few parking spaces in the back that you will not see unless you know they have them, (Id only recommend for small vehicles) otherwise, you might be better off just parking on the street & walking. Upstairs area. Tables for working/studying. Served in glasses.
Nice place, and so many neat nooks and crannies to hide away to study for hours on end. That said, all those cool spots were already taken when I got there. My recommendation is to come really early to find a cool spot! :)
This place is great! Its one of my favorite coffee shops in Los Angeles to hang out and work from. The outdoor seating area is adorable and the upstairs is quiet and secluded. The food and drinks are delicious and reasonably priced. Parking in the area isnt horrible either. There is free parking on the side streets or parking at meters right in front.
A neighborhood treasure. Unique treats, atmosphere, and people-watching. Perfect for working offsite.
Loved it will surely come again soon 🤭🥰
Great place to read, work or study. The second floor is a quiet zone where no talking is allowed. The patio are is shaded with plenty of seating and outlets to plug your devices into. The food is healthy and delicious. Love the coffee and tea options.
Air conditioning was wayyyyy too cold. Food was okay, not that great, but not terrible either. Tables inside by the sockets seemed to be better than the picnic style one we ended up on. Outdoor seating felt much better, but the wifi got weaker out there. Cute place, but feel there are probably better spots for working.
Nice ambiance. Quaint coffee/food place with outdoor seating and interior cafeteria seating. Good food.
Amazing place! They have their own parking in the back which is an oddity. LOTS of different types of seating (maybe even more than the shop can handle). Lots of outlets. Food comes with side of fruit or salad. Just great!Totally worth the drive from Burbank!
A coffee with a good buzz, and great seating arrangements.
Nice little coffee & tea house on Larchmont. Pretty silent with no music from loudspeakers! Excellent! Nice sandwiches and a broad range of what to drink, including tea, coffee and smoothies. Young clientele, mostly sitting working or studying. Nice ambiance!
Good coffee and breakfast. For a place with scones in the name, they were not super impressive- especially since the scones were served cold with hard table butter and commercial brand jam. That was disappointing.
Close to five stars. They were nice, quick considering the weekend rush, and really tasty products. I had a cappuccino and a fig rosemary scone. The only thing was the cappuccino was barely hot (definitely warm, but barely hot, if you understand me) and thus I had to drink it pretty quickly before it was cold.
Disappointed with the brunch. I got the French toast and went supreme (overstatement). The bacon was cut in half, the potatoes had no salt, and the onions were burnt. The main attraction—the French toast—wasn’t sufficiently marinated (?) and was basically stale bread that had been in the oven; they had included a plastic knife and it was nearly impossible to cut. The measly, stingy shot of real maple syrup (their only saving grace) was just enough for the half I ate of the French toast. The whipped cream wasn’t cream; it was whipped topping. And the cappuccino wasn’t very hot.My friend got a bland chicken sandwich with too much very-bruised-basil, which for some reason was served with salsa. She made it only 3/4 through the sandwich because she hit an unappetizing chunk of gristle and didn’t want to eat any more. Also odd: they have menus with a note that says “wrong prices,” I guess because they won’t reprint them. Seems weird, cheap, and lazy to have an inaccurate menu. I also never saw anyone from the staff come out to clean tables or anything. We sat on the patio which was well-covered by umbrellas. There were lots of dogs but I didn’t see water bowls for them anywhere or a water station for the people. A lot of people seem to go there to camp out for a few hours, so I bet there are times when it’s very difficult to get a table outside.Overall, not a great experience. I’m going to try other restaurants in the area.
A nice place to sit and work in peace. Lots of seating space available, but sometimes you wont find any place to sit there as it gets packed with people. The food and coffee selections are good, nothing extraordinary as such, but whats served there is good quality. The wifi there is a pain, which can be a issue. Overall, a nice place to work or chill.
Must come for something good. A coffee company that knows and appreciates coffee.
Loved this place great drinks and scones but mainly for LA people watching. I met several people from the motion picture industry. The patio is a lush garden with many chairs and tables the best part they have LOTS of power strips so you can sit with a fresh squeeze lemonade your laptop and also IT DOG FRIENDLY having watering stattions.
There are not enough good things I can say about Bricks and Scones! There is a reason why this store is always busy with students studying, members of the community have meetings, and people on causal dates. There are a variety of seating options, a decent variety of food, and a huge drink menu. I recommend trying the scones, since they have always had a few to choose from each time Ive been.A word of caution: the cold brew/iced coffee is VERY strong! Delicious, but strong.
Bricks & Scones has a very enjoyable set up in their patio area. There are many tables and tons of chairs. Theyve also got those big umbrellas to give shade on a sunny day. However, sometimes it gets windy and the wind makes the umbrellas move and rock the tables. So they need to be aware of that. Overall I totally dig their patio. Inside theyve got tables, chairs & couches. They also have plugs to charge up inside. It can get crowded inside as well. But I prefer sitting outside. Its quite relaxing and stress free. The coffee is hit or miss. Sometimes their hot coffees/ espresso drinks can be lukewarm. Other times they can feel really weak like its watered down. Other times their hit drinks actually come out a nice hot temp and the taste is full bodied. Knowing that its hit or miss I still come here for the patio. The food is generally good but sometimes the same item can be great one time and mediocre the next.Their WiFi is really spotty. Like most everything about this place it can be hit or miss. Sometimes I have no speed issues or connection issues. Others times it can be very frustrating. But still I come back because I love their patio.
If you are writing a script for the next hit television show or movie then you probably have been to this place. This is a great study cafe, I came in early because it does tend to get crowded and space is limited in this cafe. I had a black tea lemonade which was good and a chocolate croissant for an early morning breakfast study session. Paid street parking is available, but it usually only two hours which makes it tough to do a long study session, but there is free street parking a few blocks east if you are willing to walk.
Seems a lot of regulars come here. You order at the counter. There are lots of chalkboard menus behind the counter with a selection of hot and cold items; lattes, blended drinks, tea by the pot, of course scones, muffins, croissants, panini, salmon with bagel or eggs, and more. You get one of those little vibrating thingies that tell you your order is ready and you go back to the counter to pick it up. The outdoor seating is very pleasant with big shade umbrellas and surrounded with greenery, and the tables are not squished together. The indoor seating area looked cozy, more walls than windows, softer lighting and original decor. We couldnt find an indoor table as they were pretty much all taken by the Wi-Fi pirates. This is a very pleasant place with an extensive original menu. Very laid back, great place to meet-up and enjoy a chill vibe.
Nice vibe and I had a great Matcha latte I didnt try the food. But will on my next visit.
Coffee and atmosphere great. Outdoor patio to sit at as well, dogs welcome. Recently added a bunch of food items to their menu.
The sandwiches are so delicious and the place is so nice. Very relaxing!
Awesome~~😘😘😘
This place is of course quite affordable. You can spend your time with anyone you wish or even with yourself.I like the interior.
I really love the decor, food, and drinks at this spot! The place has a cozy and laid back vibe. Also everything Ive ordered off the menu has been tasty! The only reason Im giving this place 4 stars is the Wifi. Every time Ive visited, the shops Wifi has been very slow. This can make doing work there a little difficult. If thats fixed, Ill change this review to 5 stars in a heartbeat and come more often! 😊
Beautiful outdoor seating and cozy indoor seating. Their latte was just okay, I’ve had better, but I’m rating this place based on workability. WiFi is BLAZING fast at 250 mbps (honestly even 25mbps is considered fast for LA from what I’ve seen.. most places will give you like 5mbps), plenty of outlets and seating. Totally in love with this place. It’s also pretty quiet :)Edit: since I wrote my review, the internet speeds have gone down to excruciatingly slow speeds - at 520 kbps now which is RIDICULOUS considering how fast it was before. Truly disappointing as this was my favorite place to go and now I can’t even get anything to load let alone get work done here.Another thing that changed is they removed the deadbolt on the bathroom and the bathrooms no longer lock. The door does lock, but you can still open it from the outside if you pull it (I’ve tested this to confirm my suspicions). Not sure why the cut in quality and budget, but it’s unacceptable.
Very cozy space with an interesting interior. Plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. Good breakfast/brunch good and decent coffee!
I picked up a book that showed the 1000 most peaceful places in the world and Bricks & Scones was one of the three places in LA (along with a Buddhist temple and a park). I dont know if I would agree with that, but they have great food, an awesome $6.75 unlimited iced tea option some dope grapefruit green tea, some dream quenching scones and a crunchy bun (I think its called?) That melts in your mouth along with copious amounts of outlets both inside and out. Because of that this place can get crooowwwwddddeeeeddd especially on weekends. Protip: get your table and THEN get your drink.
Nice relaxing place to get a quick bite and coffee. Plenty of space indoors to work quietly while eating. Tried the Green Smoothie, and it was the best I have ever had. Definitely coming back for it again!
Great staff and great coffee, they have a nice relaxing sitting area.
I ordered a chicken sandwich and it was really good. Nice place to enjoy a conversation with a friend while having coffee/eating.
A cool scone cafe with lots of space to sit indoors and outdoors, real relaxed vibe. They are a little pricey but this is in Larchmont so you know that already. Big menu, recommended by a lot of people...
A 🐦 spying paradise. Great hot tea unlike any Id tried. Fabulous seating outside and in. Great place to meet up with friends.
Very cozy space with an interesting interior. Plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. Good breakfast/brunch good and decent coffee!
Love this coffee shop. Different and lots of seating upstairs and and downstairs along with seating out front. Will definitely come back.
This place never disappoints me. I always walk out with a smile on my face. The coffee is amazing and the ambience is great and classic.
Nice size menu with a variety of food to choose from as well as coffee and tea. There is ample outdoor seating and indoor seating too. The wifi is free and fast. Excellent people watching full of your creative Hollywood type.
One of the best places in the Hollywood/Larchmont area for working on your computer/writing, while enjoying great cafe food and coffee. One of the busiest coffee cafes that caters specifically to people looking for a public space to work on their computer. Kudos.
So far the best place, for me, to read a book or to prepare to exam. Nice coffee, nice food. Why 5 stars?because the goal of this place is not to have a great unique coffee o something, it is a make a great spot for studying and doing business.
Very cute place, servers seemed a little stressed. Nice outdoor seating area.
I really liked the outdoor patio area. There is lots of shade and is very comfortable.Parking was a little confusing but not bad. There are spots in the back. The whole environment of this place just makes you feel relaxed and calm. Very inviting and yes there is WiFi
Love this patio area! Only those who order food are allowed to loiter inside but why would you want to? Good selection of tea as well.
Coffee was absolutely amazing. One of the best in Los Angeles
Cute little garden cafe. 1 hour of free internet, inexpensive fee to use it past that. DELICIOUS coffee and baked goods. Patio out front is delightful!
Really cute, homey aesthetic that makes studying very comfortable.
Great coffee. Try the brick brew! Wifi was not that great when I visited, but it was very cozy.
