I was craving a latte and remembered driving by Antigua and thought to give it a try. So glad I did. I ordered the Mocha latte which was amazing and delicious. The gentleman working was friendly and pleasant to talk to. I took home some coffee so I could brew at home. They so kindly grounded the beans for me. I just served my mom some coffee and she absolutely loved it. We are fans now of Antigua Coffee!!
IN CYPRESS PARK HOME BREW COFFEE, SIGNATURE BREAKFAST SANDWICH, AND GREAT ATMOSPHERE IS THE CREATION OF ONE ITS OWN…..THE ARTISTIC COMMUNITY INNOVATOR OF CYPRESS PARK ART MOVEMENT OF THE NIGHTINGALE BRIDGE….ANTIGUA
My buddies and I decided to get together here since we all like coffee. We loved the individual who made us laugh since he was beautiful and had a seductive grin. He could also make the coffee taste precisely how we want. It had a delicious taste that soothed our thoughts and emotions. We had a nice time conversing over a cup of coffee all day.
Been visiting in LA for a week and a half and I’ve been to many cafes and this is the first one I’ve been to with actual QUALITY COFFEE. They own their own farm in Guatamala, roast their own beans. What more do you need. It’s no wonder they’ve been open for 16 years. They focus on quality. Absolutely recommend to anyone who actually likes good coffee! Also the owner is a G.
This is without a doubt the largest coffee shop, although there are many more! The coffee shop has a wide range of seasonal fare, and the cuisine is wonderful for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. All of this is backed up by a nice and helpful workforce. We were able to use this site frequently during our trip because it was near to our hotel.
Had some cafe from Antigua. It had been about eight years since I had stepped into the cafe. It was great, hopefully I am able to come back soon and get another warm cup of heaven.
We were staying in an Airbnb close by, so on a whim decided to try Antigua out for coffee.Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted with a big smile and warm welcome. We had a pup with us, and they let us bring him in to place our order. Which was super nice.We ordered an iced coffee and iced horchata espresso. They are definitely a great coffee spot, good quality coffee and espresso, great service and reasonable prices. They feature local art and jewelry for sale and display. Nice quiet ambiance. They have plenty indoor and some outdoor seating.Great neighborhood coffee spot.
The owner/roaster is behind the counter every day. Love seeing he and the woman who work there every time I come in for coffee and take home beans. Most of LA is going through a coffee trend/fad where everything is super light, acidic, and fruity which I find annoying b/c I would actually like coffee that tastes like coffee. Antiguas coffee is a true, rich medium roast *and* has a great nutty flavor as well. The pastries look amazing, but I havent tried them yet...but the veggie sandwich is DELICIOUS
Great spot, lovely owners. Huge selections of teas too. Had the vegetarian sandwich 👌 Chipotle sauce on it is amazing
Love this coffee shop it’s locally owned and operated. The owner who I’ve met a handful of times is always welcoming and very much appreciative of your decision to visit his shop instead of the Starbucks down the road. The coffee itself is amazing in quality and taste, the breakfast sandwich is also bomb. If you’re in the area and need a pick me up definitely visit this place.
Good coffee early morning we we nt to buy brunch so good the guy told us you cant finish a sandwich its so good
The owner is so nice, she makes the best green smoothies if you asked for it and she is so sweet and puts so much love into the food she makes. The coffee is also sublime and the atmosphere is amazing
Coffee here is amazing. A lot of shops I think rely on ambiance, and, not that Antigua’s lacking in that, when you come here you’re probably coming here for the flavor, which I’ve found is pretty unique in Los Angeles coffee shops. Elsewhere, the coffee is somehow all pretty bland, almost watery and thin. Any version of any drink you get elsewhere, when you get here, is full bodied, nutty, actually tastes like how coffee should. The iced vanilla latte is amazing. The veggie sandwich is a weekend ritual practically for me snd my fiancée. If you’re local this is a must try cafe. Intelligentsia, urth cafe, Tierra Mia, you’re just overpaying for the brand or the architecture or the address. Go here!
One of the best for medium/light roast Guatemala grown coffee.
A place that deserves 5 stars is a place that blows my mind. This place was fairly close. Very friendly staff and great coffee. Perfect place to bring your lap top and work. They have a couple of outlets to plug into. It is a comfy and nice place to just chill and have a cup of coffee, work and enjoy.
Great food nice people
Fabulous coffee and food. Try the breakfast sandwich and the Mayan mocha coffee (iced or hot is amazing)
A nice, small breakfast to start the day. Nearly feels like home. Recommended!! The coffee was really good and the atmosphere even better. Really nice and friendly baristas, too!
Drove my car to the mechanic North on Figueroa street for a tune-up and my wait was going to be about an hour and a half. I saw this location on Google and figured why not.Small coffee shop on the corner and noticed the Maya Mocha with oat milk is a favorite. I asked for a twelve ounce. They offer twelve and sixteen ounces. My brother whom was also at the mechanic decided to come with and give the place a try.Brother quickly fell in love and thought he should have bought a sixteen ounces instead of the twelve. Nice cozy environment inside. The menu is small but simple. Or drinks did take a while to be ready. In the words of my brother, they were making it with love. It was a Saturday, in the morning, what was the rush right?Enjoyed the drink. Enjoyed the location. Returning? Yuppers!!Thank you.
SUCH GREAT COFFEE. Only regret coming here was getting a small & not a large
The best coffee and chai!
Great coffee! Quiet and comfortable community coffee shop. Freshly ground beans on site causes each cup to release its aromatic fragrance. Note, quality loose leaf tea also onsite. Money well-spent.
Coffee and muffins are just superior. Good job!
Just finished my first bag of organic medium dark roast and could not have been more pleased with the palatable flavor. No burned or bitter aftertaste as some other coffees. A rival to imported Blue Mountain Jamaican coffee! Thanks to a friend (and customer) there who sent it to me, I now have a new favorite coffee.
Love this coffee shop. They have a good selection of teas and make chai lattes too! I also love that they offer soy or almond milk. The bagels are always fresh and there is a nice variety of bagel sandwiches, muffins or croissants. The customer service is great. There are tables inside and out. It gets pretty busy, but it also has some quiet time depending on time of day.
Loved the experience. Its nice to see how your coffee drinks get broken down and to taste all the ingredients separately, youll appreciate your latte more ;) this is for sure not your typical coffee shop. I really liked the presentation of the drinks but the place is way too small and you dont get to fully enjoy it
Their coffee is still as good as it was when they opened many years ago; I think 10ish. When I lived near by I was there more often and also became acquainted with Yancey, the owner. Since moving, over five years ago, I stopped going and lost track of Yancey, I dont know if hes still the owner. Nevertheless, I supported the business because of their vision (integration of community though art, to name a few) and great coffee, too! On this current occasion, I had a Mayan mocha with oat milk; dreamy!!! I will make sure to make it a point to frequent this coffee shop.
I called them to obtain pricing for a large catering order of coffee and received great customer service and helpful information. When I called back a few days later to place the order, he remembered me and exactly what I needed. The process of picking up the coffee was seamless and the coffee was great.
The dude here brews some seriously good coffee. Check it out if youre around! Also, the food they serve is fantastic!Theres also some really neat events here! The owner is a very intelligent and business oriented person. Pick his brain sometime and youre bound to learn a ton from him - from art to running a cafe, he definitely knows exactly what hes doing. Some of the art events here are really cool, like the underground art gallery they had one night. It was a total blast. Come here with your friends after a hike in Eagle Rock! Its totally worth it!
Love this gem of a coffee house! Coffee is amazing, smoothies are very good too! Have never tried the food but it always smells delicious. Owner remembers his customers which is always nice and if you ever want to get schooled on the history of coffee definitely ask :) Pros: Nice atmosphere, nice people, sense of community, excellent quality, clean, good mix of music, WiFi, feels like undiscovered treasure. Cons: street parking can be hard to find sometimes. Would recommend: Absolutely!
Great clean space with friendly service, solid sandwiches, but the real treasure here is the masterfully roasted coffee. Treat yourself to a bag in addition to your cup. Owner is a great guy, very welcoming and engaged in the community.
BEST COFFEE IN NORTH EAST LA. Hands down. I only drink their coffee. At home: Antigua beans. At my favorite new breakfast place, Glorias: Antigua coffee. When out and about: Iced Antigua coffee. **NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH ANTIGUA BREAD, which is not very good.**
This place has very good coffee and espresso and Tea. It also serves good food and pastries. This is my favorite place. I go here at least 3 times a week.
Glad I checked out Antigua, its a cute hidden coffee shop. The coffee is good but I wish they had some more sweetener options for their lattes. The breakfast sandwich is really good, not too spicy, and made with turkey bacon, also they didnt take forever to make it in the morning as I was just stopping in before work. Also their customer service is pretty good efficient and friendly.
Had this coffee at a local breakfast place. After we were done with the delicious breakfast, we head right way to Antigua Coffee Rosters to buy 4 packs of it! They even gave us a discount! Best coffee ever.
Nice cup of coffee! Get the Cafe con Che!
I want to like this place. Ive given it many chances to win me over. The coffee is simply not good. The people have been pleasant but the service is also substandard. Recently I ordered two large drip coffees. The man behind the counter went to pour them and realized they were out of drip coffee (10:30am). Instead of letting me know this he began to make two americanos for the same large cups he had pulled for the drip. These drinks were weak, understandably. Also, they were not what I ordered. Please give me the choice of waiting for what I ordered or altering my order. Do not just make something different and not tell me. Thats my advice for the next time it happens to someone else. Sadly, I wont be back.
Freshly brewed coffee and tea.
Great spot but closes a bit early at 3pm
Great food (love the turkey sandwich and the breakfast bagel) and amazing coffee. A true gem in the area. They have great art also, definitely doing their best to better the community in so many ways.
Love this local place. Owners are knowledgeable and friendly. Quality products! Sandwiches are delicioso!
Local POC owned and staffed shop. Delicious coffee, sandwiches and pastries. I had the breakfast sandwich and the iced Mayan mocha. Their coffee is sourced from Guatemala, they also have tea that you can purchase in bulk. Come here instead of the starbucks down the street, you wont regret it. Don’t forget to BYO cup.
Lattes are great. Ive tried the breakfast bagel and turkey chipotle sandwich and both were delicious. Great neighborhood cafe.
So sad this place closed down
Great local coffee spot. 100% better than a Starbucks. The owners are good peeps.
My only selfish wish is that they open at 5am...
Excellent cappuccino. breakfast sandwich was very good. Very nice non- corporate, owner-operated coffee house. Highly recommended! Oralé
The staff was very sweet. I had the chai latte it was delish
Love these guys. Locally roasted, family owned business from the farmers to the cup of coffee. Support local biz!
A good place for breakfast and lunch on the busy Figueroa corridor in Highland Park especially if you shun places that cater to more hipster-chic crowds like kitchen mouse or good girl.
A diamond in the rough....drove through this area and could not find a decent. Lol or safe looking cafe....pulled this up while driving and to my surprise was a 50s looking coffee shop...fell in love with it immediately. ...ordered some baked goods and a cup of coffee and enjoyed my stay....when I pass through again...I will definitely be stopping by
Ive been there once but it looks very nice. Also coffee was really good
Great breakfast burrito! Try the chorizo one...eggs, home fries, peppers & onions, cheese and wholesome goodness! Very filling. .they arent stingy at all!
Its like a very cool community center with great coffee and food. Warm atmosphere, completely unpretentious.
Great coffe and snacks. Great employees. Very relaxing and quiet.
Very cool cafe. Try the Mayan mocha coffee, its excellent.
Great coffe house! Great coffees and teas! Delicious!
Great tea selection. Nice people. Love it
Place is a super layed back, high quality teas, and a great spot with friendly people i highly recommend anyone to stop by and check it out
Best neighbood coffee joint and roasted Guatemalan coffee beans.
Great local run place with good food and excellent coffee.
Yummy breakfast. Excellent coffee.
Great Sunday morning vibes with the church choir across the street.
Its been over a year since I last visited and the guy at the counter talks to me like I was an old friend. Im sure he really didnt know who I was but its good you treat your customers so valuably.Mayan Mocha is my favorite and tastes like a churro dipped in coffee. I know that doesnt sound great but it works. Maybe its more like horchata and coffee. The shop is in a nice location and the bike shop next door adds to the coolness.
Delicious coffee, great atmosphere, the barista was so welcoming and warm. He made me feel at home.
I went into Antigua Coffee House for the first time ever this morning. As Im waiting in line to order, I over hear the Barista explaining that there are no avocados. The Barista says something along the lines of, Its not even worth going to El Pollo Loco because they dont even have avocados either. to the guy ordering. So, its my turn to order and I order an Americano and a breakfast sandwich. One of the key ingredients in the breakfast sandwich is avocado. The Barista also tells me there is no avocado. So I inquire about a discount because of the lack of avocado. The Barista says, No, its the same price. If El Pollo Loco is charging the same prices, I shouldnt have to change the price. WRONG! How can he bad mouth El Pollo Loco for not having avocados and then turn around and charge for avocado that he doesnt even have? How does that make any sense? You cant sell me a car with no wheels and charge me for wheels. Right? At that point, I decided that he wasnt giving me quality customer service and since he couldnt make an easy judgment call to adjust the price, I left.I hope they read this comment and re think how they handle customer questions or concerns.
Everything is just right . They believe in the honest authentic product . Thank you for keeping it real Antigua.
Visited for the Organic Horchata over ice with espresso shot that tasted just as the name identifies it and not a milky mess like Tierra Mias.Tried the almond and blueberry scones that paired well as long as my drink was full to wash it down. Man at the counter provided great customer service making ordering extremely easy and not to mention wore a Dodger cap thats earns them extra points. If your ever in the area needing a good cup of coffee or crave an iced horchata drop by you will not be let down.Peace ✌
