85 is one of those places I cant get enough of. I always say its like the Asian version of Portos (although nothing could qui5e compare to Portos). People will tell me that 85 is overrated and overhyped but I dont care, its so good!! Ive always been a huge fan of Korean bakeries, and even though 85 is not that, you really cant beat the prices for the quality of bread here.My favorites are the egg and cheese tarts, the brioche, and the almond apple danish. I seriously have dreams about the tarts, and Ive gone multiple times during lockdown just to pick them up because Im craving them so bad. They also used to have this maple toast that I would get all the time, although I havent seen it in a hot minute. The sea salt coffee is also one of the staples here, and even if I dont drink coffee, I always take a sip of my sisters or my friends haha. Ill honestly probably stop by here again tomorrow since its like walking distance from my house LOL...oops..
Pastries are always a delight. Great service .
This is my favorite place for coffee and cakes! Their cakes are tasty without being too sweet in the way that many American baked goods are. Their coffee has various flavors, but I’m always satisfied with their basic 85 coffee. The staff is friendly every time I’ve been; even when it’s super busy. I’ve also found their prices to be much better than Paris baguette - the other chain in the area.
If you love sweets as much as I do try to avoid this place, because it’s really hard to pick only one-two-three items. Everything looked fresh and yummy.Pastries also disappear very quick so the earlier the better. For pastries prices vary $1-$4A piece of Cake $3-$4The only improvement that could be done is cleanliness of the tables, bathrooms and cafe itself. Also a homeless person walked in during my visit and the staff didn’t do anything about it...
Sooo good bread, cakes, treats, coffee, ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ good atención from Sylvia shes really nice women
Busy location, so get here quick if you have particular favourites!Pick up a tray, place a clean liner on it & start collecting which buns you want!Lightweight sweet breads with tons variations - my favs are the Berrytale & Cheese BunsThey also have cold sections for cheesecakes, puddings & special large cakes. This location has a decently large seating section for those staying to drink (coffee or cold) and eat their goodies in house.Grateful that their convenient posting of calories for each item ~ for those (like me) that are watchingParking is limited to street public spotsDownload their app & sign up for membership to see specials, sales & pointsYou can also see calories in their online nutrition section(Insta @aida.loves)
First time there at the suggestion of a friend. Nice little bakery, this one in the heart of koreatown on Wilshire blvd. As with any endeavor near the area, parking is a B, but speaking solely for this business, A+. Helpful and friendly service, clean and all the baked goods your heart might desire. You grab a tray, pick the items you want, then take it tilo checkout. Simple.
Huge selection of high end Restaurant quality pastries & cakes without the price tag. The quality rivals the one in Paris or Milan. The pastries range between 1$ - 3$, & there is usually arround 20 different kinds. None of the cake slices are more than 5$. & they also make various hot/ cold coffee drinks, teas & boba drinks. They get very busy. But the staff is allways super friendly & polite, yet efficient.
Definitely, at the moment, this is our favorite Coffee shop spot. Why? First of allcause I am in Love with the house blended coffee, the Lattes and Mocha. But what stole my heard was the bread!!!Fresh bread!!!! It is awesome to come every morning and find bread just taken directly from the oven. The place is always clean, and smells so good, the tables are clean. The bread display are clean, the bread display is very neat and organized. The staff is so friendly, in general, the customer service is nice. What else can I say? Ammm, I... well, my friends and I love the place.
Good prices, delicious products and excellent service.
One of the best bakery in LA! Taking great safety precautions and have a wide variety of baked items considering its a small shop. Also, love the milk tea!
Clean, nice employee, fresh bread. What else can you ask for?
Without a doubt this is my favorite place to buy baked treats when I need something special and sweet (generally on impulse). My wonderful, considerate friend bought me a birthday cake from here last November and since then I simply must stop in on a weekly (ok, sometimes bi-weekly, multi-weekly?) basis in order to satiate what has been described by others as a slightly aggressive sugar habit. Luckily, their ever-changing displays of decadent bites offers an equisite and adventurous variety to choose from, made fresh daily. I would be quite surprised to find another establishment capable of enticing everyone, from the most rigidly conservative food purist to that hard to impress exotic consumer of rare and uncommon oven delicacies. I love trying new things every time I come in as well as ensuring that I buy several of my favorite regulars to take home and hold me over until my next visit. If you havent tried 85 degrees Bakery I promise you will not be disappointed. As added protection from any guilt that may arise (due to eating desserts at 1:00 pm) the ingredients they use are high in quality and no unusual, confusing, or questionable additives are used in the making of these pure and unbelievably delicious bakes goods. If your on any sort of strict diet, this may not be the best option for you, but I dont judge! Hell, theres always some farmers market to commit to later, right?
Came there to redeem my free drink once i downloaded the app. Customer service was great and their pastries were alot fresher. Will def go back and try their other pastries as there is alot to choose from.
Didnt like that their over or microwave wasnt working to warm up my food😡.... loved the plane and food though 😘
Just opened!I went and 8p on a Thursday night so maybe thats why the selection was limited. It didnt have as much variety as the other 85 degrees Ive been to. The quality seemed on par with the other branches. Not sure if its a Korean thing but they blast the music in here. This is the only 85 degrees Ive been to that sure this. I dont think Id really enjoy yelling over the noise. Parking can be challenging as it is ktown and there is a lot of people.Ill be back in a few weeks and see if anything has changed. I know its new so theyre probably still ironing out some wrinkles
Parking underneath which makes it easily accessible. Very clean and has a nice selection of their classics and new flavors.
The cream cheesecake is strictly ok. Try the souffle cheesecake instead. Sweet staff.
Great place for good bread and pastries by far my preferred location. Their teas are also pretty good but lately they have been out of all my favorite items, which is very disappointing considering I traveled some for their Mushroom & Cheese Wheat bread which is now always out, I tried to settle for their Mango Panna Cotta but that was also out. I ended up walking out empty handed. 😔
This location has it spot on. The pastries tasted great but the drinks were outstanding. The strawberry de leche drink actually tasted like real strawberries and was a very balanced sweet drink. The sea salt caramel coffee was great too, still tasted roasty but with just the right sweetness. Despite being packed busy with customers, their quality did not drop.
Me and my wife go there often bcoz we love their egg tart and hazelnut latte
Stopped in for breakfast while staying on Koreatown. We didnt realize it before, but we ate at the 85°C in Seattle back in 2019. Both locations are excellent. I probably ate the same things as last time (creature of habit) but had zero complaints. The potato/cheese/bacon rolls were delicious, as were the chocolate cream cheese roll and the cinnamon sticks. My husband got the egg tarts (just like he did in Seattle lol) and they were on point too. We both ordered drinks, thai tea for me and a oolong milk tea for him. Its take out only due to covid so we walked the 2 blocks back to our hotel and ate in the lobby. Wish we had ordered more to go to take on the rest of our trip.
Nice selection at decent prices. But get here early. Things go fast!
This was a gem I happen to come across after getting referred to it. I stopped in and ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich and it was beautifully made. It was so appoint I think Ill have to drive back out to visit this café soon. At the end of me paying for the order he handed me a almond croissant which was to die for and Im super happy that I got to try it on the house!! Thanks for the great service Ill be back.
The sea salt iced coffee and egg tarts are delicious!
Lovely place, great treats and drinks. Nice staff.
Remembering the time we raided 85 Degrees on our way to LAX! 85 Degrees is a Taiwanese chain of cafes that offers a wide selection of drinks and bakery items. Our only regret was not buying more, as these were gone in a day and a half.I cant remember everything we brought home, but there were Brioche, Espresso Bun, Taro Swirl, Marble Taro, Guava Cheese Strudel, and Berrytale.Berrytale was a highlight for us and made us regret not getting the Mangotale. It was filled with a light blueberry cream cheese that was just the right amount of sweet. The Guava Cheese Strudel was also memorable. I wish more food outlets here would capitalize on the flavour of guava, because its amazing!I remember my mom totally being in her element picking out these goodies. I know this was a highlight of the trip for her. At LAX, there were a couple of different staff members who saw the 85 Degrees box and expressed their envy. I guess its well-known in LA? Apparently, Seattle has one too.Follow me @vinaeatsandtreats on Instagram for more honest restaurant and baking recipe reviews!
Nice bakery. A little expensive
Delicious, affordable snacks and drinks!! I mostly tried their savory snacks (like the croquettes) and they were so good! They have Thai Iced tea in big bottles too, perfect to take home.
A friend recommended this bakery to me and I am so glad she did! They have a great selection of tasty baked goods! My favorite are the chocolate ones, so if you’re a chocolate lover, I’d suggest you give this place a try. The employees are very friendly and give really fast service! They also have good covid guidelines, like no more than 3 customers near the baked goods at a time and physical distancing while waiting in line.
I have been to many, if not, ALL of the bakeries in the Koreatown area, and let me just say, 85C bakery really steps up the plate in being my number 1 bakery in town. With a variety of different styles of breads and a multitude of drinks and pastries at reasonable prices, this is perhaps the one shop you ought to only buy breads from. Their quality service and ease of operation makes this shop, one to always consider above all bakeries. You wont be disappointed.
Sometimes it takes a bit of time to park the car. But other than that the bakery itself is wonderful!
Always fresh and delicious pastries, good boba! Friendly staff!
I love this place. Everything is so GOOD!
Lovely bakery shop, i love their egg tart, although not so healthy if you consume too much. They offer a variety of pastries and cakes.
Drove by and saw that there was a line wrapped along the building so we definitely had to stop by! And the wait was worth it! We got the lemon tart and the banana cream tart. The lemon tart was way too tarty for me but the banana cream tart was too die for! It was perfectly sweet and refreshing with the slices of banana. The wait wasnt too bad. It goes by quickly.
Great family business with great pastries. We always buy our cakes from them. They provide great customer service and great pastries. Thank you for the yummy cakes. :)
My wife almost dropped a bun so we bought it. Tasted pretty good
If youve never had sea salt coffee, do yourself a favor and get some at 85c.
I love their bread, always soft and good tasting.I also got a red velvet cake, their cakes are awesome.
At the entrance door located at Wilshire, it is posted that free parking at the structure is offered for 30min Mon - Fri.Came on a Saturday afternoon and street parked at a rate of $0.25 per 15 minutes.pastry offering seems consistent with other locations, as well as cakes. There are about 5 tables that can seat 2-4 people.Bathroom located at the corner past all the tables. The asian guy at the register seems very friendly with a smile. No complaints.
I love 85c! but this location seems dated... needs a fix from the bread display case and the whole aesthetic of the place compared to most 85c Ive been into. but the bread and pastries are still so good. the salted carmel drink is good too. it needs more seating are.
The coffee and pastries we had were so good!
85 Hot Med Coffee .. The Croquette .. The Blueberry muffin .. The lemon cake .. All good!!
Clean bakery place. They are also fast in check out and making drinks. Parking is validated for half an hour in the parking lot around the corner.Only negative thing was that staffs working in the drink didn’t wear hygiene gloves but just bare hands.
Friendly staff, roomy seating, large variety of coffee and tea options. They also have delicious pastries! Located close to the water, which I dont mind. Grab a drink and cross the street to enjoy the views of CA . Would definitely recommend a visit. Two thumbs up! On behalf of first res ponders, we thank you!
Love the breads gotta try it if you havent yet.
It is not Korean bakery, it is one of the best bakeries coming from Taiwan !
Aquionowa Hawaii. ⁸ Sepulveda pl/ Osborne bakery.BREADS §ells. In it en [selvaes?]
My favorite dessert: berry tale. Favorite drink: iced jasmine green tea sea salt. I always come here for a quick, satisfying dessert. Not over-priced and quality of the bread is top notch.
So so price ok
I agree with all the superlatives used in other reviews. My additional observation is that the higher the quality of the croissants and similar baked good the shorter the durability of that high quality. Industrial croissants made for shelf life are far inferior, but they hold up longer. So enjoy these magnificent fresh creations at the shop or as soon as possible after purchasing them.
If you are looking for a great bakery with fresh food and excellent variety, then this is a place for you...
Nice place, good bread but parking is difficult. .
This would be my go-to place for a delicious peach green tea in the morning. But then I stopped going hahaI wish they were just a bit closer to the train station so that I can still make it if I am running late. The location is OK but you will have to find parking (like anywhere else you go to in LA) if you are driving. The staff is always great. No complaints. I usually get there very early like at 6:30a.m. and I have no complaints towards the staff.Everyone is doing their thing and keeping the place clean as well. The service time is not that long.Maybe like 3 minutes and also maybe because I get there so early so not that many people. The food is as any other 85 location is. Delicious.Give them a try in the mornings if you are in the area and then follow our travel vlogs on instagram @thehungrynomadz
Potato pastry not on menu anymore
I used to enjoy coming to this location but lately my co-workers and I have been hesitant to even go, the guy in the front with an Afro takes forever to help one costumer out then he gets angry / frustrated and when it’s our turn he greets us rudely . Even when he’s making drinks he takes forever, today .My Colleagues and I Have had to leave in a rush with messed up drink because when asked, he reacts angrily, we believe that if we are spending our money we should be able to savor our Purchased items with no problem and as a worker he should be more Formule . I give this location a two star because aside from that other employees like the young lady that is in the bread area who usually also comes to the front or the other lady with glasses the Filipino one and the guy ( manager ) usually help out with no problem and the bread is always delicious
This chain exploded through out California. The different bread is tasty and a test to have. The sea salt coffee is a most have; sea salt caramel coffee is even better. Highly recommended.
Bad experience!
Love their sea salt coffee and or tea.
Absolutely delicious. Some of the best bread Ive ever tasted! It took a little while to get the drinks we ordered, but so long as youre a little patient, I didnt mind. Drinks were tasty, bread was tasty, staff was friendly, all in all well worth a visit!
Very friendly staff. Great service!!
I like the bread they make
Love 85 degrees! I was wondering when it would come to KTown. Now it is finally here!!The breads are cheap and delicious. Like the unique Japanese, Taiwanese, and Chinese breads. Also, the sea salt coffee and milk tea are delicious! All is good except for lack of parking and slow checkout. They should really improve the checkout line. Last time, I almost waited ten minutes!Still love you 85 degree!!
Cheese guava croissant was good.... Cafe latte was bad. Too much milk and espresso tastes unusual. However they did kindly accommodate me and remake my coffee but did not taste any better.
Cutest little bakery! I had a small slice of the cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, and the blueberry chiffon! All amazingly moist and delicious! Cant wait to go back!
Best sweat breads ever must try if you havent
Yalls bread is fire ... especially that taro one
I live right above this cafe and visit it almost daily for a quick cake and drink. Its frequented mostly by Asian and Korean Americans who act peculiarly once I enter the bakery - they all (90%+) get up and leave within a few minutes, some even looking at me as they hastily pack their stuff.Summary: This place has a very passive aggressive Jim Crow vibe if you are not Asian and are sensitive to the people around you. I get a similar unwelcome vibe from the largely Asian and Latino service staff here despite being a regular.Note: Many other largely Korean oriented bars and restaurants in Koreatown are the same way, however (the Koreans will hastily clear out and entire bar within minutes of my arrival). However, 85C Cafe is a large chain, and you wouldnt expect passive aggressive racial profiling by customers but its here.
Loved this place ended up getting a frozen mango drink. It was great! And You can get lost in all the tasty pastries !
Excellent prices, my favorite bakery in the area. The taro roll is a standout, and their sea salt iced coffee or tea is also delicious.
The bread here is great. i highly recommend.but the cake i tried looks good but tasted so-so. tried the slice first before you buy the $33 cakes.and mango slush i got, they put too much water or ice. maybe it was a mistake, but i will not buy again the cakes and the slushes.
Why do you need 2 employees to ring out 1 customer? Then once I’m next you start to operate 2 registers.
