My Honda fits wheel rod piece that connects to the front axel (? I think) broke while driving to work on the way to West Hollywood from Orange County, just a few blocks from this shop. I was extremely worried a Hollywood auto shop would rip me off (especially being that Im not even certain the piece that broke). I dropped it off around 9am, and they had it ready for me by 4pm (even having to order the part from elsewhere). I tried to get off of work early and wasnt able to get the shop before they closed, but they were gracious enough to remain open for me for a few minutes so I could pick up the car, pay, and drive home - saving me a fortune in uber fees. I highly recommend. Theyre very professional, communicative, and they are very familiar with hondas. If my car every breaks again and nearly kills me on the way to work - this is where Im going to have it fixed.

I needed to replace my battery, and I called three places including these guys. The battery cost about the same according to each of them, but Funk Bros quoted me a price $100 less because they didn’t charge for the installation of the battery and the other 2 did.When it came time to pay, it was actually $20 less than he quoted me originally, which itself was more than $100 less than the two other places I called. They were very professional and helpful and super fast. Based on just this one experience, highly recommend.

Great shop, extremely honest and quality work!

The told me my cobalt needed a bushing replaced and new tires. I got the tires and returned for the bushing repair later, at which point they told me the bushing was fine and I needed 2 control arms replaced and something else totaling over $900. I took my car to another auto shop for a second opinion/quote and they told me I just needed the tires balanced for $40 and the bushing and control arms were fine. After getting my tires balanced the shuddering issues I had been experiencing previously were completely resolved. Dont get ripped off by these guys...

Upon moving to LA I started taking my car here based on all the good reviews, and Ive been quite satisfied with the courteous and informed service, whether a quick oil change, inspection, or larger repair. My last visit was due to a bunch of unexpected, accumulated problems. The team at Funk Brothers fixed everything within a reasonable amount of time and at a reasonable cost (though Im not an expert on automotive repair pricing!) and was sure to follow up a few days later to make sure that everything was running smoothly. Cant ask for much more when dealing with a stressful car situation!

Funk Brothers is the best shop in LA by a long shot. Not only are the honest and trustworthy, they also go above and beyond. They can always fit me in and I am confident in the work they do. Being a woman, it is important to me that I am not spoken down too and that Mechanics dont treat me like I am stupid. They are very knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. They even printed out additional information for me about the issue with my car so I would know everything. I highly recommend them and feel lucky to have found them.

Ive had a couple of difficult to diagnose problems with my car and the guys here figured them both out. My car now runs perfectly. They were thorough in explaining what was happening and competent in handling both simple and complicated engine and electrical issues. I aim to return in the future.

These guys are fantastic.I have lived in the area 10years and just found them when I was in quick need of a tire. I was on my way to the airport and my service light came on, I pulled into the first place I saw. It was 12pm and all the mechanics were on lunch. I told them I was in a rush and they the tire in minutes. There are a lot of auto places in the area, Ive been to a few. This one is my new favorite.

I have been servicing my car for four years with them now. They are honest and professional and they will go the extra mile to help You. Once I have leaking oil cooler after we learn that replacement is pretty costly they fixed the old one and It works perfectly since then. Often if there is some minor issue they will fix at no cost. I never felt that their recommendations were unnecessary and often during regular checkups they will tell that everything is in perfect order. The only thing that holding me back to recommend this shop to everyone is that they will have less time for me:>

Took my car in for first time with a short laundry list of issues. Then I asked them to have it done by end of day. Joe did not hesitate. All work was completed as promised. Really appreciated the recommendations that Joe provided for my classic Mustang. Ill be going there from now on.

Took in my 1970 Ford Thunderbird. Amazing service all around. Their expert mechanical work was stunningly top notch, their communication was superb and the entire experience was clear, concise and economical. The car has been resurrected. Drives like new and it hasnt been new in a long time. Pleasant people and a great experience.

Very lucky to have stumbled upon the Funk Bros after just moving to LA. My check engine light came on and they were able to diagnose the issue without trying to sell any extra add-ons. Turns out it was an inexpensive fix and they took care of it that day. Happy to have them as a reliable mechanic.

Helpful and seem very honest. They are considerate and try to save you money. My car was making a scary clicking sound. They tested it in front of me. Found it was a minor problem with my hubcap. They removed it, fixed the problem, and didnt charge me! This was my 1st time there. They seemed honest, respectful, and caring:)

I brought my 1962 Plymouth Fury to Funk Bros. Id never been there before and I thought I had a serious problem. They kept my car for several days and then informed me my problem wasnt as bad as I thought. They fixed it. They are expensive but they could have taken advantage of me and charged more - I was expecting a larger bill. Then I brought it back a month later at their request as a follow-up check. No charge at all. They also checked and fixed some small things during the follow-up. Free. I recommend them and I would take my car there again.

This battery change cost me 700$+.While changing my battery, these guys stole (from my car) two pairs of Raybans and MY ROOMMATES CAR KEYS, (that were in the glove department box).I had to replace his keys for an out of pocket cost of 420 dollars. Raybans had cost me about 150$ each when new..They then refused to show me the correct security camera footage. Or to help me. They kept BSing this frase: ”you probably dropped the keys outside the shop”(When I’m very clear that they were in the car).Do society a favour, fix your car somewhere else.

I went to Funk Brothers after just moving into the area. They indicated I could come in for an oil change in the next morning and get right in for an oil change and told me it would be over an hour when I arrived the next day. I brought Mobil 1 0w-30 for my 2004 Volvo S40 and the owner told me he couldnt change the oil because it wasnt recommended by the manufacturer.I subsequently explained to him that it was approved for all of the Volvo specifications and showed him the documentation. He went on to indicate the technolgy reasons that it could not be allowed for the application which was incorrect. I happen to be an engineer in the lubricants industry and his explanation was blatantly incorrect. It makes me believe that he just makes up recommendations in other even more important areas that I would worry about as a customer.If the owner reads the reviews, I would recommend that he read about motor oils and he will soon learn that Mobil 1 0w-30 is fit for the Volvo application. He might also consider calling Volvo to educate himself. Regardless, he is clearly more worried about taking peoples money because I brought my own oil than doing what is correct.

Joe was helpful when I brought my car for a smog but had the check engine light on. They ran a diagnostic test and identified several error codes. None of the codes were major so he reset the light free of charge! After several days I took the car to a smog only test station and it passed with flying colors. Thanks Joe and the Funk Bro family for keeping me on the road!

The people posting here about this place are as educated about mechanics as the owner and workers here are. Simple questions about my engines compression or electrical system could not be answered, I shouldnt have to educate a person Im hiring... After I realized they were inept, I asked where they were educated in mechanics.. The answer is Apparently under a shade tree. Anyone bringing their car here for more then an oil change is wasting their money and time. youve been warned.. Good luck

I was new in town to California when I stopped by because my car would not start. I had such a great experience here, super nice people! Would totally recommend going here. Havent had issues with my car since.

Horrible experience across the board. This place is like what you read about in auto-service horror stories. They are friendly enough but fail to repair cars the first time, charge very high prices for sub-par work and then place you in positions where you have to constantly bring the car back. This place has cost me almost $4k and they are trying to get more out of me. I would recommend staying away unless you want to throw money down the auto-repair pit.

I have been going to them for years. They are truly amazing mechanics. No job is too big or small for them. We have two cars and always know that whatever the problem, they will take care of it. They are also very fair in their pricing and honest about what work actually needs to be done on the cars.

I have been going to Funk Brothers for four years now and I have received nothing but exceptional service each and every time I have taken my car in! Hovig and the entire Funk Brothers staff is consistently welcoming, honest, reliable and skilled. My Honda has always been fixed quickly and efficiently, with none of the hassle and dishonesty which often comes when a person who doesnt know a lot about cars walks into an auto shop. Ive been here 3 times already and every time been very happy. Their service is always prompt and very fair priced, The manager is also always very friendly and they give you regular updates by phone if you are not there in the shop. Overall always a good experience.
