They got my truck in and diagnosed in less than 1hr and had my truck repaired in 4 hr from me dropping it off. This was one of the best experiences I have ever had. They treated me as though I was local to them and they where well priced to work with. They where willing to do what ever need to be done to get me back on the round. I worked with Mark all day about my Jeep needing a new thermostat which I understand is a very labor intensive job & I drove my car off the lot driving better than ever! They’re very sweet, helpful, & knowledgeable on what theyre doing. They charge a fair price with no intention to over charge you like a lot of other franchise auto repair shops do. He explained everything going on with the Jeep as it was being serviced on throughout the day & went out of his way to help with any questions I had. Theyve got a life long customer now, looking forward to doing business again with them.

Ive used Stonum Automotive in maintenance on old vehicles and helping me assess new car purchases for years. They are honest, timely, and kind. Since relocating to the Denver area I tried using other repair shops closer and have been so unsatisfied I have been making the commute back to Stonum Automotive for services and repairs. These guys rock, if you want an honest shop that does good work this is it.

Stonum is a great facility. I have taken half a dozen different cars tot hem over the years, and used them for everything from oil changes to installing custom wiring for a project on my Corvette. They are well trained and provide good service.

I havent had to take my vehicle in for anything in quite some time, when I have needed help, this business has always gotten me in quickly and have done a fantastic job on my repairs. We have used Stonum automotive for many many years. He is checked out brand new cars we wanted to buy, he has done the routine oil changes and even resurrected our Jeep after it died on a trail. Hes honest and the crew does detailed work. I trust them and I know that they will never serious wrong.

The first time I took my car in, Stonum was able to fix an issue with the heat that eluded another shop. More recently they quickly and accurately diagnosed a misfire and replaced the spark plugs and wires. They are fair, honest, and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend.

My daughters Ford Escape needed among other things, a new fuel pump. I brought it to the repair shop Id been using for the past 6 years to get an estimate. The estimate seemed unusually high, so I brought it to Stonum for a second opinion. When I walked in and saw the sheer size of the place and how clean and well maintained it was, I automatically assumed it was going to be expensive. A few hours later, I received their estimate from my customer service rep. Turns out it was roughly the same as the first estimate, but he told me the estimate was based on a worst case scenario. Anyway, the next day the car was ready. I walk in to pay and the CSR says, I have some good news, the repair/replacement turned out to be less than I quoted you. I figured it went down maybe $50 or if I was lucky, $100.00. I look at the invoice and it was $200 less! Keep in mind, the rep knew I was prepared to pay the original amount, no questions asked, but because he was honest I saved a substantial amount of money. The work performed was top notch, the car was ready when they said and they genuinely cared if I was satisfied with their work.Needless to say, my entire family and hopefully my friends will be customers for life!

Took my vehicle in for a scheduled repair on my front-end suspension. Parts had been ordered two weeks before the appointment. I dropped my car off the day of the appointment, and was quoted that it would be done that evening for pick-up. Come to find out, the parts ordered did not fit my vehicle. Stonum went out of their way to order different sets of aftermarket parts to find a fit. It was later determined that parts needed to be ordered from the factory, as no aftermarket parts would work for my vehicle. The factory took a lot longer than expected to ship the parts, and Peter at Stonum was very thorough in updating me on the status of the repair throughout the process, and he made sure to stay in contact with the people shipping the part. A week and half later, they received the parts and had my car out of there that afternoon. Nobody likes being out of a vehicle, but Peter and the rest of the staff here went out of their way to make sure I got back on the road as soon as possible. Great prices, honest staff, and amazing service. I will be moving out of Longmont soon, but will make the drive to have my vehicle serviced at Stonum.

I have a 1916 ford f150 cargo van with 96000 mi. The air conditioning had failed. I had it diagnosed at the Ford dealer and was told after spending big bucks, that the compressor had failed. More big bucks on the horizon. Stonum was great. They traced the problem back to two wrong size fuses. Knowledgeable and thorough. Thanks.

I took our 2007 Toyota Tacoma in to be looked over after we recently just purchased. I brought the truck in at 9:00 AM and at 3:00PM I called to ask about the status of the truck which had still not been looked over. Within 30 minutes I got a call about what was wrong with the truck. I drove down and they were pulling it out, which shows the ran it through quickly. The mechanic did not bother to drive the truck, and look at the ticking noise that we requested, he said it was a loose skid plate? It was not, you would have know this if you drove the truck! For $130.00 I was told the license plate lights were out (it was just the bulbs), the spark plugs needed to be changed, and general maintenance items; everything we already knew!! Nothing about the engine, its performance, noise, compression, hoses, leaks... nothing! I seriously recommend you take your cars to people that have more time!Jeanette Peterson, Longmont CO

Management must know what they are doing because employees do great work and have long tenure.Several times I have authorized work that they later called me saying it wasnt neccesary. I am a new customer June 2017 and that first experience I was impressed. I have come back three other times and each time was a pleasant experience. The front office staff is top notch. They put the care back into “customer care” which is very important to me. My Jeep is running great. I have had some major work done and some minor work done. I needed major work done on my 2003 SUV, including new struts. The work was scheduled over two days. Late on the second day it was discovered that one of the new struts didnt measure up to Sonums standards, which necessitated a re-order and the addition of another day. This adherence to honesty and quality service is just part of why I have entrusted my car care to Stonum Automotive for 20 years.

These are the people you want fixing your car, and doing general maintenance care! Always trustworthy. Always back their work. Their hourly rate will not be the cheapest, but thats not what you want, when it comes to your car! Stonum is extremely reliable.

I called for an appointment for an oil change on my Volvo XC90, they scheduled me in for the next day (awesome), everyone at the front counter was fantastic. Very helpful and polite group! They called me later with a list a things they found wrong with the car, asked me if I wanted to fix (or not), and they got everything done same day and for a very reasonable price.I highly recommend them. thanks guys!!!

I brought my car in for its 120,000 mile service. I really wanted to like this place as it is at the end of the street from my office. After my car was delayed for an hour (from 5:30 to 6:30) because they ordered the wrong spark plugs and had to get replacements I was told that they didnt have the correct tool to drain and replace my transmission fluid but would order it to complete the service. Well, its been a month and still no call. Upon reading of the receipt they may have done about 1/2 of the services needed at this mileage. Maybe there was rational for this, but they didnt go over the service with me so I have no idea, they didnt even tell me what the tread depth on my tires was or how much break pad life I have left. By driving my car I feel like it needs new rotors, at least. I really feel like I need to go somewhere and just have everything re-done and just wasted $500. But they were willing to offer a free oil change I wont be using (my co-worker also got one because they just forgot about his oil change and left his car in the parking lot all day). At least the guys were polite, which is why I gave them 2 stars, but I can stand someone being rude as long as they do a good job.-----As an update, the shop owner gave me a call, was highly apologetic and offered some free services in addition to going out and purchasing the tool required to drain my transmission fluid today. I decided to opt for someplace else just based on my experience but it was a nice gesture to make the offer and take the time to call.

I have been a Stonum customer for the past 3 years and have brought in our families three cars in for regular maintenance. Due an odd noise in the front end of one of our cars I showed up this morning prior to going to work with no appointment. The technician looked the car over and told me we had two lug nuts missing from one wheel. They made a call and had new lug nuts rushed over - then put them on the car for me for no charge. Amazing service and responsive to assure we were driving a safe vehicle. One of the many reasons I will continue to come to Stonum for our vehicle maintenance needs.

They are the definition of the nasty mechanics that you need to stay away from, often tricked by there very nice greeting, tried to upscale me several times by telling me non shallot lies, knowing because I’m a mechanic myself. Charged me a 70$ diagnosis fee for telling me something I already knew, like thanks for the useful information Geniuses my 12 year old cousin could have told me that, don’t fall for them, the upsale is all hidden by a nice manner.

Ive been taking my car to Stonum for a couple of years now, since shortly after they moved into their location on Sunset. At first, I only took my beater car there for all of its repairs and maintenance. The repairs were plentiful since it was an older vehicle, (I no longer take that car there since my son now has it out of state). My other vehicle, I only took to the dealer for maintenance as it was newer. When the dealer gave me a questionable quote, I got a second opinion from Stonum and Travis, at the front desk, was just incredible. Id also like to acknowledge Corbin and Peter (I hope I got your names right), also at the front desk. All of them have been extremely courteous and professional towards me. What really stands out to me is the honesty I feel Ive gotten at Stonum. In situations with the older car, Im sure I couldve been taken advantage of by other shops. Stonum Automotive has convinced me they care about providing the service that they would like to receive. Theyve even followed up with me on a previous review I wrote, one where I had some constructive criticism, and thanked me for the input. I think they care about our thoughts, impressions and opinions. That goes a long way for me. I recommend them for all your vehicle needs. I plan to start using them for my work vehicle maintenance, too.A continued/edited review. In May 2020, I took my vehicle in again for service at Stonum Automotive expecting an oil change and normal maintenance stuff in addition to a transmission fluid flush and change that I had been warned about on my previous visit in January. I really appreciate being told when I pick up my vehicle of upcoming maintenance tasks, especially if its going to mean additional costs. It helps me plan for those costs months in advance and I can decide when to have those tasks performed in balance with being able to pay for them. This trip in, however, I got the phone call everyone dreads. It resulted in about $1000 of costs I wasnt expecting. Of course Im going to make sure the maintenance tasks get completed, but it really is so much nicer to be able to plan the when to have them accomplished on my terms. Yes, I could have deferred some of the tasks performed for a future visit, but the situation was fine for getting them performed all in this visit. The point is that the advance notice is a much better way to find out that my car needs some extra attention rather than the surprise phone call.The second disappointment in this particular trip was that the invoice (noticed just today, not when I picked up the vehicle) didnt make one mention of a task I had been warned about on my previous visit and had authorized to be completed on this visit. I was told before that in addition to the transmission fluid needing to be changed that I had a stripped out fill plug in the transmission housing. I authorized the replacement of that plug this trip along with the fluid flush and replace. The invoice doesnt indicate a charge for either part or labor to replace that plug. Did it get replaced at no charge to me and not mentioned? Did it get forgotten about and still needs to be done? Ill have to reach out after the weekend and try to find out.Overall, Im still thrilled with Stonum Automotive and would (and have) highly recommend them for anyones car servicing needs. I will continue to rely upon Stonum for my own personal vehicle as well as the fleet vehicles I use at work. Chris, at the front desk, was new to me, but still very friendly and professional. My wife dropped off the vehicle in the morning and used their shuttle service to get a ride home. She had nothing but good things to say about the shuttle driver, saying he was very nice and pleasant. I hope they return to the policy of giving advance notice on upcoming necessary maintenance task like they used to do. I still give a 4 out of 5 with the confidence theyll get a 5 on my next visit.

Had a good experience with Stonum recently where I brought my wifes car in with a litany or faulty items from the dealer, of which I was skeptical of most. I provided this list to Stonum, they reviewed the issues and could have said yep they all need to be fixed, but instead gave an honest assessment and evaluation of the current condition. Dropped my car off to have the oil changed and front brakes looked at on Tuesday night for a Wednesday appointment. I was told it was first come first serve so I thought nobody was ahead of me. I told them to call me with an estimate for the brakes before moving forward. I had not heard back from them at 12 pm the following day so I called to check on my vehicle. I was told it was next to be looked at. Move ahead to 4 pm I finally got a call telling me I need pads and rotors on my car. I said I would be picking it up at 5pm. I was told to reschedule to get the brakes done and taking another day. I will be going else where for the brake repairs. It should not take a day to put pads and rotors on a car. When I told them I would have to go somewhere else for the brakes the acted like they could care less. Poor service and I wont be back. They may do great work I will never know but really bad first impression for a new customer.

I work across the street from Stonum Automotive, and have taken my 2007 Jeep Liberty to them twice so far, and I fully expect to return to them for any further car troubles.My Jeep has a fairly notorious front drive shaft, that is prone to problems. Travis walked me through the whole process and let me call around for further options/opinions about the best repair of the front drive shaft. After calling a number of shops and a couple drive shaft companies, come to find out that Stonum was correct all along. He had more up-to-date information about my drive shaft than some of the drive train companies!Full disclosure, Stonum warned me of the front drive shaft issue when I had my vehicle on the lift the first time, and sure enough, two months later, it needed replaced.Stonum is careful to replace any system with quality parts, and made sure my vehicle is ready for the road for years to come.Seriously, the only place I would take my car/SUV/truck.Work they have done for me:- Rebuild/Replace Front Drive Shaft- Replace lower Ball Joint- Replace Wheel Bearing & Sensor- Complete set of brakes- Wheel Alignment (x2)- Brake Line Flush- High Pressure Radiator Test- Tire Rotation- Oil Change (x2)

Weve been using Stonum for our cars for about five years now. Theyve helped keep our classic Toyota minivan in great condition, as well as being attentive to our desire to keep costs appropriate for an older car. The guys are courteous and knowledgable and the shop is conveniently located in Longmont.

Auto repair can be frustrating and expensive, thus you need a trustworthy, honest, and knowledgeable mechanic. In my recent experience with Stonum I found them to recommend excessive repairs while missing the real problem. I paid an extra $1500 for work that did not completely solve the problem and was not needed. I would have rather used the money to fix the real problem then potential future problems. They are either incompetent or untrustworthy. In either case I do not recommend them on difficult to diagnose problems. If you know what needs to be done they are more than capable of doing what you tell them.

I am new to Longmont and I wanted to find a good local shop and after viewing the Google reviews I decided Id try Stonum.I have since taken my car there a few time for various problems and was always a little surprised by the price. After comparing estimates for work with a few other shops I found that Stonum always comes in higher for parts and labor. I wont be going back just because I think I can the same quality and a better deal on parts and labor at another shop.

I have had repair work done a few times at Stonum. The timing belt on my 2005 Honda Civic was replace five years ago, and that work has stood the test of time. Just recently, the valve cover gasket on my Civic was replaced at a cost that was $90 less than the price that was quoted at another automotive repair shop in town.

Have always been honest and forthcoming on the cost of repairs.

Rather than giving me options of parts to purchase (dealer vs. cheaper option), they selected the higher priced part. When I voiced my concern for the high cost of the part, he said that it was a better part and would arrive the same day, however the difference in price was over $100 in which case I would have waited for the cheaper part. Frustrated that I wasnt offered the options.

Stonum automotive has a wonderful business front, well mannered employees, and a respectable service model. They are honest, in that they carry out repairs that were agreed upon; however, their practice is far from honest.Stonum automotive failed to properly diagnose a major issue with my vehicle. They asserted that my problem would be fixed following a repair from their diagnosis, and it was not. After requesting a warranty service, my car was held for several days followed by trouble that caused the necessity of an unrelated repair. Then, to my dismay, I was told I would need to pay for further investigation as to the cause of my issue. I can understand that diagnosis is not a perfect practice, but this was not a mistake. A second opinion has confirmed to me that the real cause of the issue was “easily identified” and “common.” Do not pay into this unfair business, as they can not hold their practice to the same standards as the appearance of their service.

Great shop, trust them they will not leave you wrong.

Rude bad customer service skills

I went in to have my For F250 serviced. It came back not quite right, but they took it back and fixed the issue, no questions asked. I have been going to Stonum for a number of years, and will continue.James

Ive been in Longmont since 1980, own too many vehicles and have been to many car shops. Stonums is by far the best, with super clean garage, comfortable lobby and a very knowledable and professional staff.

Honest Car Repair....what a joke! Stay as far away from this place as possible. Labor rates are out of this world. A $1250 bill and $950 was labor. And then the car has been back twice since! Obviously, their diagnostic machine is useless. Honestly, if my husband even thinks about going back, I will lock him up in an institution. This place now has all our tax refund. DO NOT GO HERE!

Have an old truck with numerous issues, unsurprisingly it broke down. Told them to get it fixed to the point I could get home 80 miles away. They did so at a reasonable price, without pushing numerous additional repairs on me. They also have a courtesy shuttle if you need a ride to or from the shop.
