This is probably the best shop in the northern Colorado area that ive personally been to or heard of. These guys are very knowledgeable and friendly, as well as up front with you. Im really pleased with the work they did with my brakes and they did it at a pretty good price. I will definitely be coming back here!

To say this was an exceptional and beyond wonderful experience would truly be an understatement. I had an unexpected flat tire turn in to a couple thousand dollar repair at the first shop that quoted me due to needing the entire left front steering/strut/knuckle component replaced because I guess I hit it just right for all that to crack, and I called numerous shops in Longmont that all had great reviews before landing on Hands On Auto Tech because they quoted me well under a thousand dollars cheaper than what all the other shops were quoting me. I wouldn’t have been able to afford it otherwise. They were absolutely amazing, fixing my car two days faster than they originally quoted me, and giving me a complimentary loaner car to use in the meantime. I couldn’t say anything better about the experience because it exceeded my expectations by quite a bit. Take your car here, you will not be disappointed. They’re honest, reliable, and seem to really care about their customers. I worked with John and he was readily available to answer any of my questions at any time and did an outstanding job ensuring I got the best value. Tom was so amazingly friendly and helpful, after I got stranded on the highway with my Honda Odyssey. Tom responded to my emails on a Sunday and got to my car right away first thing Monday morning. He emailed me photos of the damage and explained my repair options in detail to me, and even gave me a ride to and from my hotel. Wonderful service, highly recommended!

This was a great place to get my car fixed. They put it on the lift for free to look at the issue. Got over quoted and they were able to save me some money. Oh, and it was super fast, 2 1/2 hours to replace a wheel hub.

I had a great experience with Hands On Auto Tech and will definitely be back next time my car needs maintenance! The water pump in my car broke, and Hands On was able to fix my car in just a few hours, even with it being extremely busy. The employees and owner were extremely friendly and made me feel welcomed the entire time. They even took the time to show me how to check fluid levels in my car (I know almost nothing about cars!). They were honest with me about the work that needed done, and I didnt feel that they tried to upsell me on anything I didnt need. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs work done on their car.

Hands-On Auto Tech is great! My family was looking at purchasing a used vehicle. We drove 90 minutes to check one out and could only get an inspection the same day. Tom made it work. He was incredible. Made room for the vehicle within 30 minutes of our call. Personally walked me through his inspection. Answered every question I had. The only disappointment for me is that I dont live close enough to have Tom and his crew as our mechanic and shop of choice. Definitely recommend.

I have never wrote an online review before, but after my experience with Hands-on Automotive I was so pleased with the service I felt obligated to share my experience.Being new to the area I searched reviews to find a good automotive repair shop. I took my extra vehicle to Hands-on for an alignment prior to having new tires installed. Being my extra vehicle it took me almost 6 months to put about 500 miles on the new tires. At this point, I realized the tires were not wearing correctly and the alignment was bad. I took the truck back to them and Tom (owner) upheld what most of the reviews will tell you... he fixed the problem above and beyond my expectations. Even after 6 months, he re-aligned my vehicle that day, coached me on what steps I could have taken to catch the issue earlier, and offered store credit for the damage to the tires.I have worked with several auto repair shops in the past and truly believe this service is the best of the best. I know this situation would not have worked out the way it did at any other shop. I am excited to say I have found a shop I can trust and will be recommending them all family and friends in the area. Tom took great care of me after I had a bad experience with one of their competitors. He quickly pointed out he didnt agree with their diagnosis of my truck, and told me what to look for. He also cleaned off my engine, a sensor and tightened one of my hoses, all for free.They know what they are doing here, and Im glad I came to them. Also, they found a problem with my distributor cap and rotor. They quoted me at a fair price for replacing it, and Im happy to say Ill be back.

Seriously the most honest and straightforward and CHEAP but extremely experienced mechanic I ever have been to. Its worth driving 45 min to get my car repairs because its peace of mind. I have been to several mechanics in my area and they all told me either incorrect information, charged way too much, or wanted to put in new parts that I didnt need. Go to Tom. You wont regret it. Ive always done all of my own car repairs for the past 25 years, so it was hard for me to trust my vehicle to someone else. They were able to get my Grand Cherokee in and replace the radiator (no small feat with the hydraulic fan and tight fit) and flush my transmission and have it ready for me that same day. Prices were very reasonable. Tom was also very patient and helpful with all my questions. Im a weekend mechanic with just enough knowledge to be dangerous, and he answered all my questions and even gave suggestions on repairs I could make myself. Ill definitely be coming back and recommending Hands-On to my friends and neighbors.

I went to this shop because they had an Amazon local oil change deal, but I was pleasantly surprised.Everyone was very nice and they seem honest.I appreciate that theres a little waiting room and youre also welcome to hang around the mechanics and learn more about whats happening with the car.They showed me in detail every problem area and why it was important.I will definitely come back again.

Very impressed with customer service here right off the bat. Only lived in Longmont a short time and hadnt had the need for any mechanic services until today. My check engine light came on this morning, and of course, I was hoping to not be heading down the path of something major.Called and talked to John and told me to bring it on in. I arrived 10 minutes later, and he remembered me from the phone, quickly grabbed the computer to read the check engine code. Long story short: he addressed the embarrassingly simple issue within about 5 minutes, and didnt even make me feel like an idiot in the process (which I am when it comes to most car stuff). He sent me on my way with what to do in the future, and didnt charge me anything for this small stop-in. Next time, I have a car issue, I will definitely head their way.

Tom and Laura are great. Tom does great work and informs you. Both go above and beyond for service. I have tried a lot of mechanics all fall short of good. But Hands On is GREAT. I have found a mechanic I will stick with cause they have earned it!

I purchased an Amazon car wax certificate and had to cancel since my Mom was ill in Chicago and eventually passed away. My wife left a message that I could not keep the appointment. However, the owner said that was not good enough and she needed to speak to a live person to cancel. He said that it is stated in the details. But the details say nothing about talking to a live person, only about leaving a message. I mentioned to the owner that something as important as losing $99 if I dont talk to a live person should be mentioned when I made the appointment. The owner said he doesnt have time to do that. The owner didnt even attempt to correct or provide a compromise. Maybe pay half. I was looking for a shop to take care of all of my vehicles in the future. He obviously is only focused on the money. Im glad I found this out ahead of time. The thought of having something like this this happen when a major mechanical expense occurred Im sure would be financially dishonest.

I really like Tom and the other mechanics over there; theyre always friendly, and they do great work. It also doesnt take them long to finish a job, I was surprised how little time it took to change my timing belt and water pump. Would definitely recommend.

Tom, his wife Laura, and the entire team treat every customer as if they were a part of their family. You can tell right away observing the interactions they have with all of their customers. I absolutely Love Tom and his crew! They get it right and if they make a mistake they make it right!I had need of an AC Unit for my 2008 Ford Freestyle. They thought it was a rear AC line that looked pinched. I looked at it and I would have had to agree. However it wasnt the case, the compressor was the problem. They replaced that and charged the system. It wasnt cooling as well as expected so I talked to them about it. They checked it out and replaced the compressor with a little better unit and recharged the system for no additional costs.Amazing Service ever since! Thanks guys!Rollie...

Outstanding! This morning, my vehicle was unfortunately damaged in a hit and run. Based solely on their stellar reviews, I decided to drop by Hands On, in hopes of getting some advise regarding the damage and necessary repairs. We broke down on I-25 heading home to Wyoming. We had been to Kansas to pick up a Bernese mountain dog rescue. We met Foster mom in Colby. Our 2002 Durango just quit running. We coasted to exit for hiway 119. After trying a few ideas and help from Brad and Arnold, two nice guys who stopped to help us, we called Hands on . It was closest on map app. Charlie offered to help any way he could and let us use a loaner car. Had the car towed and by 3:00 the next day we were on our way again. Fuel pump failed. Dogs were fine and we were fine. Thanks everyone at Hands on Auto tech.

I am not easily impressed but boy this has to be the most honest mechanic shop Ive ever been to. original estimate from dealer where vehicle was towed to came to near $2000.00 of an itemized list of unessesary stuff according to Tom and he just had his guys take care of what the van really needed right now for less than $400.00, and took time to explain everything .. Had a timing belt replaced by Hands-On Auto Tech because they quoted about the same price as other shops I have used but Hands-on is closer to my house. When I picked it up the bill was higher than the quote. Tom also told me of a mount that was worn out when I asked about replacing it he said that they would have to tear it down to the same point of doing timing belt (about 2.5 hr labor). I feel they should have stopped work and called to see if I wanted to have the mount replaced while they had it open to that point. (this would have made me give them better rating ) now I will have to pay double labor to have the mount installed.

These guys have gone all-out for me on more than one occasion to investigate problems and provide repair at really reasonable prices. They are awesome. Gave me a loaner car at one point & have also offered pick-up / drop-off service when I needed it.

I took my Mercedes to these guys because the check engine light came on. They told me the issue was a code P128 and that the thermostat had to be replaced. After costly repairs, the check engine light came on again within a week of my car being repaired and Tom refused to work on my car citing that the issue has nothing to do with the coolant although their repairs comes with a 3 year warranty. Not only that but Tom was very rude and impolite towards me. The $450 was an amount Tom and I came to an agreement on. I did not refuse to pay my bill nor did I force Tom to agree to the $450 that I paid. These people are thieves and are dishonest and Tom in particular lacks common courtesy and customer service and I will advice that you dont do business with them else you do so at your own loss.

Even though I moved to Greeley over three years ago, I would rather drive to Longmont and have my repairs done at Hands-On. Tom and his crew are honest and thorough. Wont be going anywhere else!

I was driving west up the hill to Winter Park and my power steering hose came loose. My day of riding was smashed and I hobbled the now-non-power-steering Jeep Grand Cherokee to my home which is a few miles from Hands-on. I gave them a call and they were friendly. I dropped in, let them know what was up and within a few hours my Jeep was flushed and filled.I had repaired the hose and refilled the pump at home but thanks to Jeep, their Grand Cheros are a little different, requiring anything BUT the fluid I had put in it. Oops.Tom and crew flushed it out, repaired, and replaced the loose clamp. They also checked the pump, checked a few other things (as is standard) and vacuumed the Jeep out.Not to mention, nearly every review is positive here, they lived up to the reviews and were honest, inexpensive, and helpful. Its small shop feel with all the credentials and know-how you like from a stealership.I will be returning to this shop!

Brought my Honda to Tom and Hands On last year and they were terrific, when I was having all kinds of problems with my Jeep, I went right to Tom, drove from Centennial, didnt even bother to get estimates from any other mechanics because I trust him 100%...in my 40 yrs of driving and having my vehicles serviced, Tom and his crew are one of the best (if not THE BEST) there is period, any one who takes their vehicles for service and talks to these guys and asked questions and can say anything negative is to be blunt, not all there mentally.
