Cool shop on a great street. The employees were really kind and went out of their way to help. They had some really special old bikes. I picked one out as a gift for my mom and she is very pleased. It was previously owned by the owners of Acres of Books, so its amazing to have a vintage bike and a piece of Long Beach.

Great shop and staff. Id walked in with a rear tire from my mountain bike, to have the innertube replaced. They were done when the promised to me and indeed called me (I didnt have to call them). Later, at home, I had trouble putting the tire back on and properly reconnecting the chain (much easier to take a rear tire OFF, than to re-install, especially when you dont have a friend to help lift or hold the bike). I called them, they said ..come on in.. and one of the guys put it on in a few minutes, WITHOUT charging me more.THANK YOU guys, GREAT shop, staff and service! 👍

A great bike shop that delivers value to deep enthusiasts and mainstream cyclists alike. Had such a positive and patient experience with Josh and Evan working through a custom build that turned out exactly as I had hoped. The build involved custom frame modifications, specialty paints, unique components, and personal preferences woven throughout the bike. Could not be happier with how it turned out or with my experience working with their team on this build.

This place is a simple old fashioned bike repair. They are slam with work because of there good workmanship and honest.This is the first time going to this location, Im from Las Vegas area. Dropped off two wheels (cartridge switch and disc rotor install) on Wednesday, was told it might be completed by Thursday, name and phone number were given. No call on Thursday, cool, no call on Friday. I call Saturday for a status update and they said it was complete. Upon picking up the wheels I asked when it was completed, I was told Thursday but close to closing so no phone call, completely understood. Then I asked why no call on Friday, employee stated that HE (as if he is the sole employee) didn’t work on Friday. That is the response? So no one else could call and inform me? And still, I had not received a call on Saturday before I took the initiative to call. Sloppy on their part, will not be returning.

My first experience here was good enough to make me want to go back. The second visit changed my mind completely. Arrived an hour before closing, waited 5 minutes for one of the staff to acknowledge me, only to be told that I couldnt get service and I would have to call the following Monday to schedule an appointment. Found a local place I could walk to and all my repairs were done for under $50 and completed in less than an hour. No need to return to The Bicycle Stand. NOTE: After this post I received a nice email from the owner who took the time to explain the situation, their current practices, and to apologize for the poor experience. I have thus changed my rating to a more appropriate two stars.

Neighborhood companies I will always support. However I stopped by at 3pm on a Monday because I was told on Saturday to come by during the week when they aren’t so busy. All I needed to have done is to put on my new chain I bought because I didn’t know how long it was supposed to be. I had already removed my old chain. I was told again they were too busy and this would at least take 30 mins which this easy 5 min job isn’t worth their time.

I will add to what many others have said; this a great shop with a great crew. I never felt rushed or pressured when looking for a new bike. The staff answered all my questions thoroughly and offered very detailed, useful opinions when I asked.Its such a pleasure to feel good after making a big purchase, and The Bicycle Stand made it happen for me.

These guys have been so great and helped me out now multiple times!! Even when I did not know anything about biking and was starting out, they were great. Then when I decided to buy something off of craigslist, they helped me set the bike all up, explained a lot to me, fixed the brakes/tires/chain, etc. I literally would highly recommend them to anyone interested in biking.

I drove a half hour out of my way to have service done on my bike because unlike most other shops in the area this shop lists service prices on their website. Upon my arrival at 2pm I found a sign on the door that said out to lunch until 3pm. I decided to kill an hour and came back a little after 3. The sign was gone but the door was still locked. Two other people were waiting outside when I returned and said someone came out and said it would be a moment longer. I waited outside for another 25 minutes and left. I figured if it was such a hassle to check my bike into have repairs done it would be just as difficult to get it back. Ill be taking my bike elsewhere.

Came here yesterday and by FAR THE BEST BIKE SHOP IN LONG BEACH. Make sure to get Josh to work on your bike. First their customer service is on point and friendly. Tried several other bike shops and most wouldnt even give me a rough estimate over the phone - Im on a bike I aint got time to walk to you to only have you tell me something I cant afford and furthermore know pushy salesmen techniques. Just good old fashion service. What sets Josh apart is you can tell he sincerely prides himself on his work and wants you to be safe and gives you the truth. THIS bike shop and Josh is the only person I will fool with regarding my biking needs in Long Beach. Im not going to throw too much shade but avoid all bike shops in the downtown area and anything before Cherry avenue if coming from downtown. ALSO, he was able to work on my bike and get it fix within 2 hours!!! PERFECTO!! PS make sure to tip your bike mechanic especially if they give you top notch fair and honest service.

I brought my bike in to have inner tubes replaced in front and back. They lost or stole my bike’s 1000 lumen head light and had a terrible attitude when I asked them about it.The guy who took my bike said I would receive a call when it was done, I never did. Then he accuses me of taking the light off which I know I didn’t do.I have been coming here for years and never seen this person before. It was painfully obvious in his tone and empathy that he stole my light because it’s a nice one, or they were too careless and lost it.Either way these guys are thieves or just don’t care.Avoid the shop right now, they’re too busy to care about individual customers because they have so many during Covid.

The best bicycle shop we have ever been!We were absolutely desperate to go cycling but on of our bikes had a bent wheel so we looked up for a bicycle shop and saw this had good reviews.We went to the shop and the staff were helpful, joyful and fun to be around. They fixed the bike in under 20 minutes and were really happy about doing it. The reviews were exactly right about the shop.The overall experience was great and i recommend people to go there if they love cycling.

Nicole was fantastic on my first visit to the Stand. I never owned a bike and she guides me patiently to choosing the right one and fitting it to my height and arm length. The staff is extremely chill and friendly. Can get free air fills on your wheels. Since I have been using my bike daily, I lost one of the pedal reflectors and Nicole promptly replaced it for free!! The Price is on the higher side but not crazy, and you get excellent quality and assistance for what you pay.5 stars (and more if I could). Please consider opening a store in awesome SF / Bay Area!!Kudos

I called the shop several times before heading in checking on inventory and every time they answered they were helpful and polite.We decided to stop by and purchased two bikes. Evan was probably the most knowledgeable person I’ve ever met in this industry. He didn’t seem bothered at the fact we kept changing our minds and we’re going back and forth between different models. He made sure the bike we bought for our son fit him correctly and he wouldn’t struggle riding it. We’ll certainly come back if we need another bike.

One of the coolest shops ever. Very nice and knowledgeable staff. They offer everything from classic bikes, folding bikes, e-bikes to cutting edge carbon bikes.I just come here to hang out every week because the staff is awesome and they have a cool bar-like setup where you can sit and talk to other super cool customers after youre done shopping.Highly, highly recommend.

My friend and I came down when they opened and they were extremely helpful. He was looking for some padded/bib shorts because his regular shorts werent doing it for him on our long ride.While we were there they were able to do a quick adjustment on my chain ring. While my friend sized his shorts they answered some questions about their showroom bikes and I even test road one.All around great shop, helpful crew; I would definitely recommend a visit.

After a tune-up (and the purchase of a new chain), chain was still skipping when in the lowest gear. They were going to charge $14 for a replacement part to fix the issue but then agreed to not charge for it when the mechanic was reminded that we did mention that specific problem when we brought the bike in. I appreciated that since Id just spent $166 on the bike. Also they do good work; the bike rides like new

I love this shop. Ive been going for many years since they were a little tiny store near cherry. Ive watch them grow and change a lot. They truly have a passion for bicycles and offer fair prices. Warning though, they are a lot busier than they used to be so its going to take longer to get service. Still, Ive been with them for 6 years and wouldnt go anywhere else.

I like some of the people who work there a lot. Others have a serious attitude problem. Those indivuals need to go!!!! They know who they are and have been there way to long. The work is good most of the timebut be prepared because they often over charge gulable customers for the least amount of work. There are more honest bike shops in Long Beach but The stand is centrally located and been in business a long time.

Best bike shop in Long Beach. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly with no elitist vibe what so ever. They have everything from 1950 era vintages to brand new top of the line bikes. I ordered a bike with them that was not at the shop and they were quick to contact me as soon as it was ready. Will recommend to friends.

Fantastic people and service. Every person at the shop is fantastic. Tons of bike knowledge, and theyll take the time to break it down for you if you ask, but not even a hint of condescension, and they work with your goals and price point. They built up a gorgeous Rivendell from the frame up for me, but they also helped me resurrect a 15 year-old mountain bike as a cheapo grocery-getter, and theyre putting together a bombproof steel wet-weather bike at a super-reasonable price point.

Great bikes but even greater people to work with. I appreciated the honest advice and the great selection of vintage parts. Even when tricky repair things came up they helped me get my vintage bike up and running with no problem.

I totally agree with the other positive reviews of this shop. As soon as you walk in someone comes up and wants to help you. They are friendly, competent and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied and happy. I cant recommend this shop enough. Yesterday I went in to Jones bicycle shop and bought several items It was such a bad experience I took everything back today and gave my business to this great shop.

They are the best! If you have any bike questions, bike problems, or just need an awesome bike they are the place to go! Everyone is beyond nice, and everyone knows their stuff. We have purchased three Linus bikes from them and couldnt be happier. They will work with you to make sure your bike is perfect, and spend the extra minute to make sure you are getting exactly what you need. You would be foolish to even think of getting a bike from somewhere else.

Great selection of bikes especially the classics, but they kind of lack athletic bikes I didnt see fuiji or diamond bikes. But prices are reasonable and amazing customer service.

Little shop, big help. I go there every time I cant figure out how to fix something myself and they always give me advise for free. If I dont have the tools or the ability to fix it they get it done quick and for a good price.

Best bike shop around David, Chad or Evan and Nicole are awesome super friendly and really knowledgeable about all types of bikes from vintage road bikes to the most modern road,track,mountain or anything with two wheels. I race and ride like 300 plus miles a week and I will only let this mechanix touch me bike... oh and the prices are solid

Super friendly and knowledgeable. I purchased new tires there and after riding on them for a day I decided they were the right tire for my needs. They were happy to recommend a different tire and exchanged them. No upsell, same price, and with a smile.

Just moved to this area not long ago,i was riding my bike and i noticed my crank was coming undone,i stopped by cause it was close to me,they quickly tightened them with no charge,ive been to other places that charged,im definitely making this my go to place for my bike needs

Today I have popped my tire so I go over town and back to find a bike shop, I find this place and give them a chance, the sell me Walmart quality for 8$, Im already pissed from commute so I just buy it, I ride around for a measly 10 minutes and realize they sold me a tire with a hole in it, no my rim didnt pop it, it was on the face of the tire. I cant go back because they are now closed

The people are great and the prices are standard. Ive bought accessories and have had my bicycle worked on here many times.
